Pickpocket!
Solo or RP Format Counts as 5 RP growth Points Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7
It's been quiet, peaceful in the world of Tendaji. Many have grown used to the new normal between the Aishans, the Earthlings, and the Kahikinans. Because of this sense of security, a few unsavory folk are taking advantage of the distracted locals.
A pickpocket is on the prowl in the marketplace, and you find yourself involved.
This prompt will be resolved by rolling 1D100. 1-20: Oh no! Something VERY VALUABLE was stolen! 21-50: While not majorly valuable, you do have an important item taken from you. 51-90: A small item is taken and you immediately identify the thief in the crowd. 91-100: Not today - you catch the thief in the act.
[ Each participating character in this WE rolls 1d100 and roleplays their reaction. You are also welcome to have your character reacting to this event happening to someone else, if it makes more sense for your character's plot.
Or, even better, maybe your character is the thief - roleplay it out from the perspective of the thief. ]

He didn’t realize it until it was too late. Ujiri had felt someone bump into him when he was out shopping. His mom wanted him to go to the market and get things for dinner so she could cook. He hadn’t argued with her about it since she was willing to make his favorite food. (A win in his book if you asked him.) But he had been surprised at how much was on the list. Apparently they hadn’t had any of the ingredients at home.
So while his arms were full and he wasn’t paying much attention to his surroundings, like an idiot, someone had taken advantage of him. Bumped right into him and slipped their filthy little hands right into his pocket. Ujiri was less than pleased to say the least. Once he’d gotten home and realized what had happened.
The boy let out a long groan as he realized the lucky charm wasn’t in his pants pocket. Hoping against hope that he had simply put it in another pocket he started to pat himself down like a mad man.
“Come on.” He said. “Come on! Where is it!?” He grew more and more desperate as he went. He needed to find that charm!
It wasn’t much to look at really, and it certainly wasn’t expensive, but it meant something to him. It was a good luck charm he’d been given by one of his friends. Ever since he’d gotten it, and narrowly avoided being viciously mauled by and angry radaku, he’d kept it on his person as a good luck charm. It made him feel untouchable most days but others it was just a reassuring presence in his pocket.
When he’d patted down ever pocket he had and it was no where to be found he sighed in frustration.
“Stupid! How could you let this happen!” He scolded himself. “You know there are thieves. You should have been more attentive.”
Well it wasn’t like he could chase them down. He didn’t even remember what they looked like. Besides, it was more likely than not that they were long gone by now. With a new trinket or possibly even coin if they sold it to someone. While it wouldn’t bring them a fortune it would get a coin or two. Certainly enough to gain a meal out of.
“Ugh. Now I’ll have to find a new lucky charm to carry with me.” He cringed at the thought.
In truth it had been pure coincidence that he’d gotten that one. Ujiri frowned as he looked at the ground. He would also need to tell his friend that he’d lost it. Usually every time he saw them they asked him if he still had it. The answer was always yes but now it would have to be no.
Another groan left him before he kicked out with his right foot. Ujiri hit the leg of the chair at the dining table and watched it scoot across the floor by four inches. His brows furrowed with distaste.
“Why do people need to take things that don’t belong to them in the first place?” Clearly he was put out by the thought. “Stupid people can’t keep their hands to themselves.” The hybrid started to mumble as he began taking the goods he’d bought out of their packing. His mother would be home soon to start dinner and he at least wanted to have things ready.
When he dropped something his frustrations grew. Ujiri could almost feel his eye starting to twitch. It seemed like since he’d gotten bumped into that his day was just getting worse and worse and he was not liking it. Not one bit. He bent down to pick up the thing he’d dropped and on his way up he smacked his head off the side of the table.
“For the love of… UGH!” The hybrid rubbed at his head and glared at the table. “All that stupid thief’s fault. I lost my lucky charm and now look.. Bad things. All the bad things.” He grumbled. “Now my days are gonna be hell.”
He started to put things away again but when he dropped a second item he stopped what he was doing, letting his arms fall to his side so he could give a deadpan stare at the wall. “I swear to Aisha.. Whoever that thief is better hope I don’t find them.” Ujiri was so done with the day already he was almost afraid to know what other bad luck was coming his way now that his precious good luck charm had been stolen from him.
