It's been quiet, peaceful in the world of Tendaji. Many have grown used to the new normal between the Aishans, the Earthlings, and the Kahikinans. Because of this sense of security, a few unsavory folk are taking advantage of the distracted locals.
A pickpocket is on the prowl in the marketplace, and you find yourself involved.
This prompt will be resolved by rolling 1D100. xxxxx1-20: Oh no! Something VERY VALUABLE was stolen! xxxxx21-50: While not majorly valuable, you do have an important item taken from you. xxxxx51-90: A small item is taken and you immediately identify the thief in the crowd. xxxxx91-100: Not today - you catch the thief in the act.

So far Tytus was enjoying traveling with the Alkidike warrior. It had been a few days since leaving the Oban desert and now the familiar scents of the ocean greeted him as they made their way into a Matori town. The bustling marketplace had been a great place to gather up supplies and Tytus was busy haggling most of the morning, his new goods strapped tightly to the satchel hanging at his side while his Xaraan followed close to his side like a shadow. It was hard to imagine him being anything other than some friendly tourist, especially with how he spoke with the locals without reserve but the Matori teen who tried to sneak a hand into his purse found himself surprised by the swift reaction of the Oban traveler. "Hey!" Tytus frowned as he grasped the Matori's wrist in his hand, a look of bewilderment going across his features. "Did you really....seriously?" His expression softened as he let go and allowed the teen to scurry backwards without any prizes. It wasn't as if he was on military duty here and it was just a kid...
"Maybe try something else out!" But his words were cut off as the busy crowd shifted again and Tytus lost track of the teen he had stopped from stealing his own belongings. Jeesh. The kid would probably be getting into someone else's pockets soon. Should he worry about pursuing or try to find his travel companion again first? They had separated for only a brief moment while browsing the market after all and Tytus was curious about what Dem was doing now.
She'd separated from Tytus simply to look at some things in the market. Dem was tall enough that she could look over the heads of the crowd and find the Oban if she really needed to. Wasn't all that hard considering she knew what to look for. He had his familiar with him after all. But she was busy browsing and not too concerned with his location at the moment. That was until she heard his familiar voice not too far from where she stood.
"Hey!"
The Oban's voice stood out to her because she was so used to hearing it over the past few days. V'demhe turned her head to look in the direction she'd heard his voice and scanned the faces of the crowd. When she spotted him she noticed he was holding onto the arm of someone else. That seemed out of place and she moved toward the pair with a concerned look. Of course before she got there the other person, a teen from the looks of it, was gone. "Ty-" She had started to call out to him and make sure all was well when she was rudely bumped into by another teen. Dem gave a grunt and looked at them, only to notice their hand held something of hers as they made their way into the crowd. "You've got to be kidding..!"
The Alk groaned as she leaned her head back with mild frustration. A second of debate - Did she want to chase the kid down and take back what was hers or simply let it go? - and she looked over at Tytus. He seemed fine. She took a breath in, more tired than anything with the whole situation, then moved to follow after the teen who had stolen from her.

Now where did..."Dem?" Tytus blinked when he swore he heard his name but then when he turned he found the Alkidike swiftly moving away from him. Why was she running like that? His brow furrowed with confusion before an inkling of what had occurred crossed his mind. Oh. There seemed to be an abundance of little thieves today. Hopefully they didn't take anything super important! Tytus could only shake his head before turning so that he could also chase after Dem and see if he could help out. "Comin' in hot!" He called out with a grin, swinging up onto Rakan who raced to his side and cutting through the crowd who quickly stepped out of the way of the rider and his Xaraan.
As he caught up towards the Alkidike, the Oban called out. "Let me know what they look like and I'll try to help!" As Tytus spoke he was already glancing about trying to look for anyone suspicious that may be startled into crashing into another person or taking a wrong turn with the sudden appearance of a rider on a Xaraan chasing them alongside the Alkidike warrior. At least that was a hope, but honestly who knew? All he could do was try to a glimpse of the thief so that he could help Dem recover her item. Now if only I knew what they looked like...

Dem wasn't running full out since there were too many people around. But when she both heard and noticed Tytus had caught up with her she glanced to the side at him and gave a little smirk. The cheater had gotten onto his familiar! Oh she was going to tease him for being too slow on foot later.
For now though she looked forward and nodded her head to the person she was chasing after. "Yellow jacket with a ponytail." Not too far ahead of them said thief was making their way through the crowd away from them as fast as they could. Their pace had picked up for the exact reason Tytus thought it would. There was someone else chasing after them.
The Alkidike shook her head at the increase in speed. While most of the crowd was moving out of the way she still didn't have enough room to really stretch her legs. "See if you can grab them." Her companion would have better luck since he had a mount that could move quicker.

Tytus winked towards his companion. "Got it!" He ushered Rakan to move faster, his actions causing more of the crowd to move to the side. "Sorry coming through!" He called out before noting the tight alleys that the thief was rushing towards. It would be harder to navigate with a Xaraan but there was a series of buildings with roofs that overlooked the alleys. It wasn't exactly like the structures in Oba but it would have to do. Tytus could only chuckle at the idea before pulling Rakan's reigns so that he would come to a halt. "Be back soon, buddy." He placed a hand against the Xaraan's neck before standing up, his body balanced on the saddle before leaping towards a pile of crates that would allow him to climb up onto the rooftops.
Ah, much better. While he left his Xaraan without a rider in the market below, Tytus started racing along the rooftops until he finally dropped down to cut off the thief who had been trying to race through the alleys. "Gotcha." Tytus grinned as he shook a finger towards the young thief, his confidence growing as he realized he had blocked the only exit for them unless the thief tried to race back towards the marketplace where Dem was surely waiting for them.

That wink had gained him an eyeroll, not that he could really tell, and when he sped off Dem couldn't help the little love tap she gave to Tytus' behind. The alk half laughing at the situation that they were in. Her companion was able to pull ahead of her but she never lost sight of him so when he made it to the rooftops she simply watched him for a second. "Show off." She muttered.
Still she followed after the thief. Tytus would manage to cut them off but Dem would be right behind them to block them in just a few moments later. With a small huff she'd put one hand on her hip and look past the trapped thief at the Oban. "The dagger in their hand is mine. Its also very sharp so don't get hurt, Princess." She pointed toward the weapon that had been taken from her as she spoke. It was a gift for her daughter so it wasn't one she used regularly but she would still like to have the small weapon back.
The thief on the other hand looked between the two as if they were unsure of what to do. The Alkidike behind they was scary looking but the Oban in front of them was fast. Which one was the better option to go through? Fearing the taller Alk more than the fire male they rushed toward Tytus hoping to either push him over or run right past him.

Oh hey there~ But Tytus could only grin as he focused on the chase at hand. There was no time for flirtations when he had someone to catch! Or maybe there was? Later, later. Tytus found himself focused on the thief as he watched them get backed into a corner with Dem coming into position to block off any chance of escape.
"Me get hurt?" Tytus raised a hand to his chest as if aghast about the very suggestion of it. "Never." He winked towards Dem before glancing at the thief. "It would be so much easier if you just handed it over." He muttered, a long sigh escaping his lips as the Oban rushed him. Did he really have to try and flee like this? The easiest answer would be to apologize and just hand over the weapon, but nope. Tytus almost rolled his eyes before acting scared and backing to the side so that the Oban would veer towards the opening instead of plunging a dagger in his chest. Of course at the last second Tytus stuck out a foot and watched as the Oban connected with his leg, the momentum causing him to tumble towards the ground.
"Whoops.

The theatrics that Tytus employed made her snicker a little. She was clearly more interested in his reactions than she was the thief that the two had trapped. "Mhm, if you say so Princess." She wasn't about to argue with him, especially not once the thief decided to rush him.
V'demhe started to walk toward them right before Tytus stuck his foot out and tripped the poor guy. To hide her grin at the cheeky comment her companion made she brought a hand up to cover her mouth. "That was mean of you. Let them think they can escape and then trip them? So deceitful." She was teasing the man. "You'd make a nice Amazon." Sometimes underhanded tactics were needed.
When she was close enough she paused, standing just by the feet of the thief. While she kept a part of her attention of the man on the ground her eyes were on Tytus, looking him over to make sure he hadn't gotten hurt. "You alright, Princess?"

Tytus raised a brow at V'demhe's comment. "You think?" He replied with a chuckle even though he appreciated the compliment. "Thought they'd want someone with more honorable tactics that was a bit...taller?" Even if he was tall for an earthling the man knew that most Alkidikes would tower over him. Still, it did nothing to ruin his confidence as he simply shook his head. "Either way I'm okay. You?" He glanced over Dem before a groan from the ground caught his attention.
Ah, yes. Tytus chuckled again before moving so that he could place a boot on the thief's back to keep him on the ground. "So I guess that's your dagger on the ground there. Did he take anything else?" Tytus was just keeping enough pressure to keep the teen down, nothing to seriously injure him other than perhaps injuring his pride. It was a shame that a kid would have to resort to stealing but even Tytus knew that the world was not the kindest place. It was just unfortunate that the thieves had tried to pick on them today.

"Honor is for when you face another sister, not for the battlefield in which your life is on the line." Honor was nice and all but the practicality of it had its limits. "Mm, you may have me on the height thing though." A chuckle followed her words. Dem gave him a nod to indicate she was alright.
With the groan from the ground she also looked down. She didn't move until after Tytus had the thief pinned beneath his foot. "Nothing else was taken." The Alkidike moved over to the dagger and bent down to pick it up. "Guess that's what I get for being distracted by my traveling companion." Even though she'd had something stolen from her she was in a surprisingly good mood about it.

"Fair enough. " One had to do what they must to survive, Tytus respected that. It would be foolish to stick to honor especially if your opponent wasn't the most honorable and there was nothing wrong with playing a mental game along with any battle. Still, Tytus couldn't help snapping his fingers in playful disappointment at Dem's confirmation. "Damn. There goes my hopes and dreams. I knew I should have invested in heels."
At least Dem was alright. Tytus nodded as he made certain nothing else was missing before slowly moving his foot from the teens back. "Maybe lay low for a bit, kiddo. Better yet maybe someone has some part time work in the markets." He suggested before the Matori took off at a run after finally being released.
"Am I that distracting?" Tytus found himself turning back to Dem now that the thief was gone. " I don't know if I should be flattered or concerned." He teased as he brushed off his clothing from all the sand the chase had stirred up.

V'demhe looked him up and down for a second before she shook her head at him. "Nah, you wouldn't look good in heels." She had to admit she rather liked how tall he was now. Dem actually liked how he looked in general.
She watched the kid run off before she turned a grin on Tytus. "That was nice of you to let them go. Most people would have turned them in." The Alk was pleasantly surprised that he showed such compassion. Or maybe he just didn't want the hassle of dealing with the guard? Either way, she was pleased he'd let the kid go and didn't seem too angry about the whole thing; his surprise exercise included.
"Hm. Concerned. Definitely." Again, she couldn't help but tease him. She walked up so that she was closer to Tytus before reaching out and pretending to wipe away some dust on his shoulder. "Missed a spot, Princess." The little chuckle that left her would clearly tell him she was joking with him.

Tytus placed a hand against his chest in playful shock. And here he thought he would look nice in anything! Still, his playful expression shifted at the compliment from the Alkidike. Nice? Tytus shook his head before glancing back at Dem with a surprisingly somber expression. "Everyone deserves a chance, right? I personally don't know what motivated them to try to steal but hopefully they take the lesson from this time and try something else before settling on a potentially harmful path." He gave a small shrug before glancing away again. The kid could have been in trouble or desperate, but no harm had been done so he could only hope that the fear of nearly getting turned in or worse would make them reconsider things.
The sudden touch had him tense, years of fighting embedded into his body that was prepared to react in case of danger, but as Dem chuckled the earthling found himself relaxing again. "My bad, my bad. I guess I was too distraught about the heels comment to truly brush off everything." He joked lightly before reaching up to brush something from Dem's dreads, his fingers lingering there for a moment as he spoke. "You got me and I've got you." He stated with a grin before moving his hand again and gesturing with his hand for them to move forward.
"I guess since that crisis is adverted we should wrap up this market day and move on." Now where had his xaraan gone to? That was the true question now that things were settling down. It was definitely easier to focus on than the conflicting feelings twisting around in his chest.

Her gaze shifted from Tytus to where the kid had disappeared to. Dem was thinking about his answer and gave a hum of approval. She hadn't been too interested in turning the thief in since they'd gotten things back. No one was hurt either. At least, not too badly. The Alk did wonder if the thief had a scrape or two.
Her eyes returned to her companion when she noted that he tensed with her touch. Of course she said nothing about it. "Truly? Then I shall have to be more selective of my words. Can't have the princess being distraught." She smirked. As he reached up to brush at her hair her eyes followed his hand. V'demhe said nothing about the action but did tilt her head closer for him to reach whatever it was he was after.
"There's an idea. I believe that worked up an appetite." Her eyes lingered on Tytus for a bit longer than necessary before she turned her head and motioned for him to join her. They could go back to their beasts then look for a place to enjoy a meal and rest.
