21-50: While not majorly valuable, you do have an important item taken from you.
Zadia walked with her head held high down the uneven cobblestone street. The evening sun was setting around her, but the young hybrid paid it little mind. A small satchel was attacked to the belt around her waist while her arms carried a large pot with what had to be the saddest looking fern. One of the boy's in her botany course wasn't nearly as skilled as he liked to claim he was, and his plants were suffering because of it. So, instead of leaving the poor thing behind to die, she decided to take it home without her instructor's permission. Ultimately someone would be questioned, but Zadia didn't much care.
The evening passerbys weren't nearly the same as those traveling in the morning. These type of folk either tended to linger where they shouldn't, or ran without any consideration to those they hit along the way. In all honesty these were the type her mother had tried to avoid by enforcing a curfew; be home before dusk until they were old enough to hold their own. Well, in Zadia's eyes, she was plenty old enough already!
So when a robed figure bumped into her she didn't give it much thought. If anything she just snubbed them and in an admonishing tone called out, "Watch your step!" They didn't even so much as bother to stop; rather, they started blending in with the others right around the time she noticed the familiar weight of her satchel wasn't there.... "HEY!"

Isaia had enough to do on a day to day basis, without having to also babysit his sister. But... with their father visiting them in Belrea with his patients, their typical schedule was thrown out the window. Uquin insisted, you see, that his daughters be escorted when possible (mom said it was Ujana's fault). He distrusted the noise and bustle, which in his old age seemed to annoy him to no end, and freak him out in equal measure.
So when the healer returned home and saw Isaia there, poured over machine designs at the table, he'd sternly reminded him that it was well past time to go see Zadia at her class and walk with her back to her place - which had erupted into yet another argument.
But here he was - angrily storming through the streets to try and catch up with her. Zadia was more than capable, but his dad just couldn't understand that--
Was what he was thinking, when he heard her yelling. He jolted, and immediately quickened his pace until he found her, skidding to a stop beside her, red-faced and panting, "Sis-- you okay? What happened?"

Zadia was doing her best to catch up with her attacker, but running with a large fern just wasn't possible! She was waddling, at best, with her skirts and shawl sweeping around her thin frame. In the grand scheme of things she wouldn't die if she never got her satchel back, but the contents inside were extremely precious to her!
So, naturally, for the first time she wasn't instantly annoyed to see that Isaia had come to escort her home. Normally she bristled under the enforced security because clearly she could handle herself, but now..."A thief took my bag!" She shifted the fern to the side, balancing it on her little boney hip so she could better see her brother. "They went south toward the butcher's!"
She should have given him a chance to catch his breath, really she should have, but Zadia couldn't waste anytime! "Come on!" The young teen hitched up her fern and took off.

"Y-yeah-- okay, got it, lets-- is that a fern?!"
Isaia didn't know why that was so ridiculous, on top of everything else, but he forced himself to focus and instead took off after her. He had no idea how they were supposed to tell who the thief was though - the direction they were moving in was congested with people, and as they got closer he had to murmur apologies and squeeze through people who couldn't care less that the two teens were chasing down a thief.

"It's an Athyrium!" Zadia called back to him with a breathless huff. The poor things ghost like leaves, or those that remained intact, jostled all over the place as she ran. With neither one of her parent's being the most 'sturdy' of individuals Zadia had been 'blessed' with spindly little arms that struggled under the best of days, but right now she was determined!
"I-I-It's the....purple bag...that Uncle Rivyn got me." She hated it, honestly; it was too bold, too garish and far too flashy. Still, it was largest bag she owned and the one most suited for carrying things to class with. To this day she still didn't know where the man found purple leather. Stamina quickly fading, the teen tried her best to look over the crowd and found her anxiety mounting.

Oh. Okay. An Athyrium. My bad. Isaia shot her a scandalized look, still confused as to why she was even trying to cart the thing around with her - if HE had had something that important stolen, he'd have chucked the thing the moment he had to run.
Still. He felt a pang of worry for his sister as she huffed and puffed beside him, and the look on her face tugged a protective rage from him. How dare someone make his sister this upset?!
With the description of the ridiculous bag he should be looking for, Isaia nodded and darted forward, using the long legs he'd inherited from his dad to quickly outpace his sister.
Peering around, he had to roughly elbow through two protesting women when he saw it - the bag! Slung over the shoulder of a spindly looking Geian. "YOU!"
And like that he took off, ponytail whipping behind him as he ran - with the hapless thief yelping and scurrying as quickly away from him as possible, diving into a nearby alley.

With little choice but to bring up the rear, Zadia nodded toward her brother. She didn't dare call out for fear of the thief hearing them even though she really hoped he could catch up! The teenager did her best to maneuver around passerbys, then making up for lost time with a jogging pace. The pickpocket may not have been as visible, but thankfully her brother was!
And then all of a sudden he was RUNNING. Mouth agape, Zadia groaned and bit at her lower lip. There was no way she was going to catch up like this...Looking to her left she saw a sunny little alcove and quickly stashed the fern with a remorseful look. "Sorry, I'll be back - real soon, you won't even miss me!" With a quick little pat to the side of the pot, Zadia turned on her heel and took off.
It took a fair amount of effort to catch up, but when she did Zadia was perfectly winded. Her hair clung to her sweaty neck and the teen bent over at the waist to put one hand on her knee while the other pointed at the Geian with a wheeze, "Yoooooouuuuu."

At the best of times, cities in Belrea were like veritable mazes. But now it was even more pronounced - the thief clearly knew their way around, and plenty of times Isaia would just barely catch sight of them as they were whipping around a corner. Finally, though, Isaia rounded a corner to find the Geian in question had led themselves into a dead end - an alleyway that butted up against the backsides of two businesses, with locked doors in the back. Garbage and crates scattered the alleyway, and the thief was trying to scale one of the crates (to no luck) when the two siblings came across them.
Isaia was red in the face and gasping for breath, his legs shaking as he finally skidded to a stop. But he refused to show weakness to this ENEMY, and instead took up a pointing stance with his sister, teeth bared in an angry scowl.
"Give-- it... it back!"
The Geian turned to face them (a girl, now that he could clearly see them), gripping the bag with a panicked, wide-eyed look, eyes darting around for any means of escape. There was none. "You're wrong! This's MY bag!" She finally shot out - stubbornly gripping onto the satchel with a white knuckled grip.

Zadia didn't even have it in her to fake a stance. After chasing after her brother, barely keeping up with him at points and only catching the tip of his ponytail, her energy was depleted. The teen dropped to her knees in the alleyway, deep gasping breaths taking hold of her chest. Her gaze may have burned, but so did her lungs!
"O-Oh yea?!" Zadia took a moment to catch her breath, but it did little when the fury over this girl's statement took over. The sheer AUDACITY! "If it's really your bag then what's in it? And don't you DARE say something stupid like 'I don't have to show you' because we both know that's MINE. Actually-" Zadia picked herself up with a huff and held out her hand; this time with a flickering flame in the palm. "-why don't you just go ahead and end this before I do?"

The girl's mouth flapped open, only to snap shut again, her face paling as Zadia held a literal flame in her palm. Even Isaia turned sharply to look at her, lips pressed tightly together to keep from yelping in surprise. Instead, he propped his hands on his hips and stared back at the girl, eyebrows raised expectantly. "C'mon, give it back. A little purse isn't worth having your face melted off."
The Geian whimpered, her hands shaking where she gripped onto the bag. But... she took a few tentative steps closer, eyes darting to the flame then to Zadia as she approached, looking uncertain whether to try and run past them, throw the purse at their feet, or pass it over. Finally though, she shoved the bag into Isaia's arms.
"T-there-- you have it back! I want to go now!"

Did the thief need to know that the flame was just an illusion? Nope. In all honesty even if Zadia could summon a flame it wouldn't be nearly strong enough to look imposing. As it was she was just manipulating the sweat on her palm into an image that would hopefully be more intimidating than it really was.
For a moment Zadia held her breath. Was the Geian going to make a run for it? She stood a little straighter, passing a sharp look the other girl's way before she ultimately gave up the bag. With a sigh Zadia clenched her fist and dissolved the magic. "You can go after I make sure everything's inside."
She twisted a little to look through the contents of her satchel, but kept it in Isaia's hands just incase. A few quills, some loose pages with scribbled notes, and - "Oh thank goodness." Zaida sighed with relief and pulled her notebook out of the satchel. The teen hugged the old, worn book close to her chest before tossing an appraising look the Geian's way.
"Fine, you can go now."

The girl and Isaia both watched, waiting nervously and impatiently respectively as Zadia went through her bag. Finally, she was satisfied, and Isaia didn't think he'd ever seen an earthling run so fast in his life. He watched as she darted away, then sighed deeply, shifting the bag into one hand so he could wipe sweat from his brow with his other arm. "Should we have reported her to... someone? She got off way too easy, after all the effort."

"We...probably should have..." It wasn't much, but it had been a theft, after all. If she attempted it with them then there was a good chance she was going to try it again on someone else. Or maybe not. Zadia had to admit they'd put up enough of a fight that she might have been too scared to do it again!
"I'm just glad we got this." Zadia tapped his bicep with her notebook and smiled. She then pursed her lips and looked off to the side, a little flush coloring her cheeks, "Thanks for...you know...catching her..."

[7/7] Isaia's lips twitched, but he forced himself not to smile. With two sharp, intelligent parents, it was sometimes funny to see how spacey all three of them could be, depending on the situation. Isaia was terrible with people - Zadia was a bit ditzy, and Lioe was... Lioe.
He felt a surge of fondness, first at Zadia's tentative response, but then at her almost sheepish thanks. THAT finally made him grin, brightly, reaching up to ruffle his triplet's hair with a cheeky winky. "If I didn't help my sis, I wouldn't hear the end of it! C'mon. We gotta go rescue your plant from... wherever you left it."
