There were plenty of things going on in the lives of Destiny City’s citizens right now, all of varying amounts of importance. Most likely there were Things of Concern happening, that someone probably should do something about… but meanwhile, Lepus was simply vibing, living her best life. Being upgraded to eternal senshi- and a non chibi at that- was something Lepus never knew she really needed, having always been content to tell people some cryptic story she made up about being ‘cursed’… whatever that was supposed to mean. Who would have thought trying to invoke the spirit of her past self was the key to unlocking all of this? She really should have tried that idea sooner, instead of all the other stuff she had planned, though all those candles she bought hadn’t come cheap. But in the end, it all worked out one way or another, and now she was no longer Baby, she had Power, or actually, she already had had power, but now she had more? Whatever. The uniform was still too frilly for her tastes, but Lepus had come to embrace it, lacey ruffles and all, including the bunny ear top hat; personally, she’d have enjoyed the addition of a cool eyepatch, or at least a darker palette, though she did appreciate that she now had boots instead of dress shoes for footwear. Perfect for kicking things! Or people.Surprisingly enough, Lepus had managed to keep herself out of trouble these past couple months, or at least any major trouble. Generally speaking, she tended to do her own thing, and only got caught up in the many mysterious happenings of Destiny City (or the ongoing faction war) when it was right on her back porch- or when she went seeking it out, of course. Then she would tend to get herself into trouble, but otherwise she was innocent, really! She would never purposely seek out trouble, and that totally had nothing to do with the reason she was out and about on this very fine summer night. Lepus was just… going out for a bit of fresh air. Honestly. Totally. Maybe? Fortunately for all parties involved that weren’t Lepus, and unfortunately for said trouble-making teen, the night was fairly uneventful thus far, which led to quite a bit of downtime. In the absence of anything else to do, Lepus was just chilling, watching clips of vtubers on her phone. Rune had gotten her into watching the virtual livers recently, the little cat having recently taken up livestreaming behind a virtual 2D avatar herself, and while Lepus’ tastes in talents differed from the Mauvian’s, she still managed to find some that appealed to her specific interests, the more eccentric, the better. In this case, Lepus was watching a clip of a certain rabbit vtuber of whom there was a fandom joke about being a 'war criminal', from a stream where said rabbit had been jailed for her crimes, and needed her friends to say positive things about her to be freed from prison. (It was probably no surprise that someone like Pekora would pique Lepus’ interest- she would be drawn to someone as troublesome as her.) Halfway through the clip, Lepus distantly became aware of an encroaching Order signature, a powerful aura belonging to an eternal senshi most likely. It occurred to her that maybe she should pause watching for now, lest she be scolded, but gosh, did it really matter? The video was halfway done, Lepus wanted to finish watching, and she wasn't a chibi senshi anymore, so whoever it was couldn't use that excuse for scolding her. Also, like, Lepus does what Lepus wants, of course, and there wasn't anything going on, anyway! If something really did come up, she was capable of handling the threat (by beating it up), while also watching vtuber clips in the downtime.

It had been a quiet night, so far. No youmas dusted, but one over-excited lieutenant had been sent home with his tail between his legs and a nice black eye; what kind of newly corrupted moron was going to walk up to an eternal senshi and try and shove their hand in a senshi's cleavage, anyways? Scylla should have gotten their name and sent it over to Wolframite with a note that just said ????????????. She had criss-crossed good bits of the city, but other than the one lieutenant she hadn't encountered any more auras; no Negaverse, no Dark Mirror, not even a fellow Order aura tonight, right up until she was about to give up and go back home, content that Destiny City was actually calm. For once. Which was, actually, probably a BAD sign, but the thought of going to bed early tonight was too appealing to truly care. She sensed an Order signature closer to her home, and froze up, checking around for any Chaos. No- it was just another senshi, and Scylla had, of late, been in the business of networking, trying to catch up with or meet as many new senshi as she could. With no 'work' around, she could go back to bed and be lazy, or she could make her way in the direction of the stationary Order aura and check up on it. Make sure everything was okay and they weren't like... drained and asleep on a park bench. Luckily, that was not what she found, and as the glowing senshi approached, she took a peer at the senshi there, and then- "Leups???" Oh no, had Lepus gotten hit by the adulthood hammer too? She- she was so tall now, and not a chibi anymore.

A familiar voice calling her name drew Lepus' attention, and she quickly paused the video and stashed her phone away, looking up to find an equally familiar face, and one she hadn't seen in some time. "Whoa, hey, Scylla!" she greeted, trying to recall how long it had been since she'd last seen the senshi she had once pretended to be sisters with, "It's been, um... it's been a pretty long time, huh?" Maybe Lepus should have felt embarrassed to be caught slacking like this by someone she looked up to when she was younger, but the Lepus yesterday wasn't the same Lepus as today! Also, Scylla probably heard (and saw) nothing. Totally. Surely. Unless Scylla was familiar with vtubers, Lepus could always claim to have been doing research into more important things, if it came down to it, given it wasn't in English, anyway. But she didn't think it would- surely they'd talk about other things? Actually, come to think of it, perhaps Scylla could help with a problem Lepus was having lately, though first... "You have some really cool tats now." Glow in the dark, too, she bet.

"Far too long," Scylla agreed, beaming at the younger woman, "I'm so sorry about that Lepus." The other girl- woman, now?? Was she?- was looking healthy, and safe, both of which were more important than whatever she had been doing that caused the phone to be stashed away like stolen goods. "You know how life gets. I'm working on balancing priorities, but everything has their demands." Planets. Children. Parent. Work. A company to run, shareholders to appease, etcetera. At the mention of her tats Scylla grinned, pushing her hair aside so that the symbol glowing on her forehead could be seen more easily in the lighting. "I think they're pretty cool. Maybe not very effective camouflage in an urban setting, but nothing's perfect. I got them a few years ago. Something about almost drowning and coming face to pupil with an eye the size of my head, I guess. Homeworld said 'nice' and next thing I know I'm glowing." A very irreverent synopsis of her story, but not necessarily inaccurate. Besides, Lepus was young-ish. She probably didn't need or want all the details. "So how have you been?" The tiny senshi flopped down next to her young friend, feeling much smaller next to her now that Alise was like... not 12. "You're not super awesome anymore, I see. You've got eternally fantastic."

Lepus, to her credit, was far more interested in Scylla's tale behind how she got those tats than the older woman may have thought she would be. Then again, she'd come to truly embrace her love of horror and the occult in the past couple of years... if only because of the way it bothered her family, though she did have a genuine interest in it, as well. When she realized that Scylla was only going to give a brief summary of what happened, though, Lepus couldn't help but look disappointed. Oh well, she'd have to ask for the full story some other time- it sounded like it was pretty epic. "That sounds pretty cool," Lepus said, words that, perhaps, may have surprised some people to have heard her say, "I tried summoning my past self- did one of those summoning rituals and everything- though it kinda didn't really work out the way I was hoping it would. I'm stronger now, though, so I guess, like, we combined our powers, maybe? So maybe in a way it did work. Though it would have been pretty neat if I could have called on her spirit and stuff. Y'know, like people can do in video games and movies." Lepus' explanation was more detailed than Scylla's, but she didn't feel a need to really hold back on information. Well, some details were omitted just because she found them kinda redundant, and maybe she shouldn't mention to Scylla what kind of research she did to obtain this knowledge... and she definitely would be steering any future tours of the Temple of Lepus away from the underground mausoleum... At the question about how things had been for her, though, her mood instantly soured, and Lepus gave a dramatic sort of sigh, because ugh, where to even begin? Good stuff or bad stuff first? Honestly, the upgrade to eternal was the biggest 'good' thing that had happened lately. "Uh, so like... I go to Crystal now, which is the absolute worst? Like, being made to attend that school has got to be a form of torture, which has got to be a violation of the Geneva Conventions somehow?" she ranted, absolutely failing to understand who in their right mind would willingly wish to attend such a school, "I mean, this is my last year and all, so it's not as bad as it used to be, especially now that I have a sidekick who turned out to be a senshi, but I mean..." "It's torture, Scylla. And to make things worse, my family's still determined to turn me into some kind of 'proper young woman', whatever that means! I'm not destined to be some kind of snobby rich lady- I'm too awesome for that, but they just don't understand- they've been talking about sending me off to some finishing school out in Switzerland or something." Was this too much info to dump on someone you just met for the first time in years? Maybe. Was Lepus the type of person to overshare? Absolutely. Honestly, she was hoping Scylla could help her out with her problem, even though she wasn't sure what exactly the older woman could do. Help her run away and join the circus, maybe? It'd kinda be a real bummer to have to leave her friends behind, though...

Well. There was a lot to unpack in the younger woman's storm of words that followed, but Jada listened carefully. Her face, however, was definitely more expressive than she would have intended it to be. Lepus' interest in Scylla's transcension tale did not go missed, though the eager expression as Scylla mentioned massive eyes was quickly buried when the senshi of rabbits mentioned.... summoning her past self??? Jada opened her mouth. Closed it. Looked vaguely constipated and alarmed. And then... thoughtful. "That's... cool, I guess?" the older woman said, kind of concerned as to how a teenager had managed to get her hands on what was (presumably) a book that had enabled them to apparently come up with a working summoning ritual. "You didn't bring any of that s**t back to Earth did you? Because that would be a terrible idea, you've clearly seen multiple horror stories and you know how Destiny City gets around Samhain. All the holidays, really, and even some stuff that's not. If it can spooky, it does spooky." Jada's nose wrinkled. "Last thing we need this year, I want to actually take the kids trick or treating, not have to run around smashing pumpkins." The dramatic sigh had absolutely been standard teenager. "Crystal certainly didn't used to be that bad," Jada said with a laugh, "And I lived on campus when I attended, which gave me some useful separation from my mother." still, she nodded to hear that Lepus had a sidekick senshi. "We'll have to compare teachers, see who is still around. I graduated.... a while ago, for sure." And at her age she looked fondly upon the freedom she had acquired while at the school... though all things changed in time, and Jada was sure legal reasons had probably contributed to the new feeling of imprisonment Lepus had felt." Though Lepus fully (accidentally) reminded Jada of her sisters, and the senshi smiled to hear her complain. "My sister attended Surval Mont-Fleuri after our parents divorced. It's called Surval Montreux now, I think? She wanted to attend the Institut Villa Pierrefeu and capture herself a wealthy husband. They're a rather outdated concept, now, but they're not necessarily a bad thing. IF that's what you want. I could have probably used a season there myself." If they were going to send her off to Pierrefeu though, they were clearly on the wealthy side- last she had checked a 6 week course cost almost $30,000; prices had likely increased. "So if you don't want to be a 'proper' young woman, what do you want to do?" Jada asked with some curiosity, her head tilting towards the girl with interest. She said she was too awesome to be proper, which... leant itself to Lepus getting along far too well with Zora. Far, far too well.

"I want to punch bad guys, of course," Lepus answered, without missing a beat, "I don't need to know the right fork to use or how to sit like a lady for that." "But also, like, I just want to do what I want, y'know? None of this having to dress a certain way or having to sneak video games and comics into the house, none of this, um, having to hide Etoile?? Still?? Because I'm not allowed to have a pet, and I can't really introduce her to my family as my cousin from France like I do when she shows up to work in her human disguise?" Well, she could, it just would be really awkward to come up with a plausible reason for this mystery cousin. "So anyways, that's why I plan to run away from home and change my name and stuff. Maybe. I think. I'm still working on a plan," she concluded. "And no, I didn't bring anything home with me from the Temple of Lepus!" Her memory was a little fuzzy, since most past life memories she got were just of Pascaline pranking people, or being stuck in boring lectures from the nuns about stuff like the Leporis religion (or equally boring debates from scholars about just who or what og Lepus was), but she was pretty sure that nothing had happened when Pascaline had tried doing something similar, either! Aside from more lectures and scoldings, anyway.

"Punching bad guys is a perfectly respectable entertainment, of course. But we won't have the Negaverse around forever, police brutality is rightfully frowned upon, and you are a little young to become an MMA fighter." Scylla squinted at her rabbit-punching ally. "What do you want other than that? Even I have a hobby. I think." The rest of it made sense. Not wanting to hide her friend, not wanting to hide her hobbies, and the dark-haired woman hummed thoughtfully as she considered Lepus. "Running away from home isn't the grand fairytale you might expect. It comes with a shocking lack of freedom, unless you have money. Especially if you want to eat." Humming, Scylla pretended to consider, looking at her young friend thoughtfully. "I would say your grand plan might not need to be as grand or as drastically as you think. Once you are 18, your parents can't force you to stay, or force you to go to a finishing school. If they were TERRIBLY concerned about it, there are better schools than Crystal you could be attending, where manners could be getting properly drilled into you." But with all the parents in Destiny City losing their children to things worse than running away, the idea of Lepus trying such a thing didn't sit well. "How far are you from eighteen?" A pause. "And good. We don't need any of that spooky stuff. Leave it where it belongs."

"I turned seventeen back in June, so like... ten more months?" Lepus replied, trying to do the math in her head. So close, and yet, so far at the same time. The school year ended before her birthday, though, so who knew what would happen once she graduated from Crystal, if she didn't find a way out of her 'predestined fate'? "I mean, I feel like 'punching bad guys' falls into the 'defender of justice' umbrella, but if you want to know my other hobbies, I like ghost stories, playing horror games, and collecting plush rabbits, but no one is supposed to know that. Also, of course, hanging out with Etoile." "Also also, uh, I recently started mentoring a chibi senshi who's good at causing pranks. It's pretty cool, she's like, around the age I was when I became a senshi, so it's almost like having a mini me around."

Ten months was a bit far off, and Jada wasn't quite sure it would be appropriate for her to try and offer the other girl a place to stay for a while, no matter how much Lepus' situation struck home after... well. But good lord Alise was a lot like Zora, and Jada couldn't help but feel some pity. At least Lepus knew what she wanted to do with her life; Jada had spent so long trying to please other people she had completely neglected herself, and well... it had worked out, mostly. But if she could offer a little shelter to the other girl... "Defender of Justice isn't really a career path, though, and it's illegal." Scylla's voice came out flat. "If you hate the idea of Finishing School, we won't even talk about Prison." Ghost stories and horror games were... "Tried to summon her past self." Scylla spoke aloud, but was clearly piecing together the shards of a puzzle. Dear lord she would fit in with Jada's little sister, likely getting on with the Chamberlyn siblings like a house on fire. "Can the world handle a mini-Lepus?" Scylla decided to tease, instead of cringing at the thought of a teenager who was debating running away as a mentor. "Charybdis keeps running off into trouble, I don't know where she gets it from. I was so responsible at her age." .... she had not been. But at least Jada hadn't had super powers at age 11.

"The world can definitely handle another me!" Lepus protested, clearly not about to let this slide, "I'm a very good mentor- I mean, she didn't tell me she had a twin sister, so I got them mixed up once, but other than that, I've been showing her the ropes at how to be even more of a prankster. She's the senshi of um, zashiki-warashi, which is like, a kid spirit that causes mischief, so it's only natural I'd be her teacher." Lepus was totally not a bad influence on small children, honest! "But anyway, like, ten months is so far away. I don't know if I can make it that long without going crazy. Do you have any ideas?" Infinities lepus is like, they haven't died so far, so i'm a good mentor

The world definitely could not, and Scylla really wished she had a beverage to take a sip of to help school her facial expressions as she hummed at the other senshi. "Reasonable she wouldn't have told you, but I have a few questions about your observational skills." Then again Jada had grown up with younger twin sisters, so she was accustomed to looking for the differences. "I'll give you that about the child looking for mischief mentoring a child that causes mischief." Scylla didn't bother to stop her hand from going out to muss up Lepus' hair, an action she had performed many times with her own siblings and child. "Ten months is a lot less time than you think, but bad if you won't be 18 before they would have reason to send you to a finishing course. Is this your mother's idea, or your father's, or both? Do you have any aunts or uncles you could appeal to for help while you looked for something else? And- have you tried actually talking to your parents? Finishing School is expensive, and even I wouldn't want to just throw thirty thousand dollars away. More than that, last I checked the finishing course itself was only six to eight weeks. And..." Jada shrugged. "I've been thinking of going in for the course myself. There are a lot of things you could take advantage of later. Make connections with your fellow students, avoid faux pas around the table if you get to go travel other countries, and all that." her nose wrinkled. "At least it isn't one of those extra-fancy boarding schools, if they're letting you finish out at Crystal; not that Crystal provides any less of an education, it's just..." her hand waved, and the senshi could have closed her nose as instinct led her to give a small, dismissive shrug. Crystal had done its job, Jada had the manners, when they were of use. She knew how to dress, knew her forks, had a modern education, and had gotten into college with no problems. But there were always things to be improved on. In having such a 'well-rounded' education at Crystal, specific things had slipped through the cracks. But if Alise didn't have any interest in the social pursuits, or need for them for business or the like, it would just be a waste. "If your parents are planning to try and marry you off and that's why they're wanting to send you to finishing school, you can move into my house on your 18th birthday." the statement was dry. "That was my mother's grand plan, anyways. But as for what to do before then, I would have to suggest you start by talking to your parents. I got my father on my side, and things progressed from there."

Lepus listened as Scylla informed her about what her options likely were, though they weren't exactly the magic fix-it solution she was hoping for. Yes, finishing school wasn't that long, but even a couple weeks was an eternity for someone who didn't want to go- and was Scylla actually saying that she herself was thinking of going for a round of courses? The transcendent eternal was a braver person than Lepus; Lepus envisioned herself getting immediately deported back to the US within the first day or two, if not the first few hours. It didn't really matter how much money her family would stand to waste on a failed education- Lepus was absolutely the type to sabotage what she didn't want. Which... possibly included being married off? Scylla's mention of such made the teen recall that while nothing had been directly said to her, there had been... talks, that she had overheard, because while Lepus was arguably a huge reckless idiot at times enabled by a kitten who equally lacked common sense, she wasn't that oblivious. Her family had definitely been considering a suitor or two, for when she was eighteen, and the talks had gone pretty way back, actually. A family friend, or rather, the son of a family friend... Even if Lepus didn't remark on it out loud, there was definitely a sudden moment of 'aha' as the pieces started to come together. "I'm holding you to that," she told Scylla, "The second I turn eighteen, I'm calling you up and moving in!" As for how she'd explain it to her family, though... Well, she could always go the occult route- that always bothered her mom enough to end an argument after ahwile. "It's the whole family's idea, really?" Lepus explained with a shrug, "My mom and her parents- my dad's a CEO of some business or another out in Europe, always traveling around, so I only really talk with him maybe a couple times out of the year- but he agrees with the whole idea. And I don't have any aunts- just mom's brothers that I've never met- they all live out in France or somewhere out there across the ocean, maybe." Infinites not me trying to modernize princess alise's old rp history!! actually princess alise wanted to go run off and get eloped to one of her knights that turned out to be her childhood friend who was actually an amnesiac prince at 15 to so it's not entirely the same but there had been a plot for her to marry the captain of the royal guard, that had been her babysitter+playmate when she was growing up originally-- so ig family friend is a close equivalent... just like lepus' dad being a ceo is somehow an equivalent of being a king maybe

The second she turned 18, eh? Scylla grinned, and held out her pinky finger. "The second you turn 18. If they do start trying to talk anything... weird... with you before then, you can just trot on over before." Her own mother had been sending Jada for evenings out with 'family friends' at an impressionable age, herself; Jada couldn't stand the idea of it happening to others. If she could see it, she wanted to simply n** it in the bud. No one needed to be that screwed up. "We'll figure something out." She wasn't really all that scared of what Lepus' family would probably yodel about Jada kidnapping herself an army of little sisters, but she did want to make sure the other girl kept open lines of communication with her family. "And if you do decide to run away, please, PLEASE don't try and live on the streets like a vagabond from some movie," Jada added, "It's really not as romantic as Hollywood tries to make it seem." Not that Jada had ever needed to live on the streets herself, but she'd heard stories. There had been lots of Stories in the circles she had gotten high run in when she was younger. Lepus didn't deserve to be one of them. No one did. Still, Scylla laughed- they all live out in France or somewhere out there across the ocean, maybe. "Better across the ocean than in the ocean." she said dryly. "That sucks your dad is on board with it if you don't want it. I got lucky, and Daddy tended to take my side when Mother was particularly intense about something I didn't want." More than anyone else, Michael had understood the woman he'd married. Even when she was unfaithful. "Family drama aside, and your awesome new look and really... special... taste for the occult, how's the 'job' been?" she drew a circle with her finger, pointing at all of Lepus. "What's your sweet new magic do? Any Chaos agents need some bone-Kraken?" Kraken. Crackin'. She was a riot. Except when she wasn't.

"I can make a clone made of rabbits," Lepus said, though technically, all of her magic did that. "I mean, a clone made of a ton of rabbits? And they confuse and swarm and then I deliver a sneak attack from behind while they're distracted!" Lepus sounded pretty proud of herself at that statement and she likely really was. Tricking people with magic rabbit clones was fun! "I like, punch them! Or kick them, I guess- I think punching's more fun, really." Though having boots again instead of dress shoes certainly made kicking baddies easier...
