Hobbies:
Flute -- Seiji's mother, so he's been told, was a great flautist who specialized in the Japanese Bamboo flute. In an effort to be closer to her, despite her not being in his life, Seiji asked his father to take lessons. He picked it up surprisingly quick, starting with the concert flute. He actually chose to stay with the concert flute as he thought of one day joining an orchestra for a career.
He did, however, receive a bamboo flute for Christmas one year; a direct copy of the one his mother had. Since getting it he has studied it and the traditional music of his father's homeland. Whenever he's stressed he turns to his Shinobue and the solitude of his room.
Poetry -- In order to help him process the grief of his mother's passing at such a young age, he turned to poetry and has been writing it ever since. His poems are much less angsty now, though they've turned towards the macabre and romantic; still he tends to write in varying subjects regardless of those he returns to often.
Melody keeps trying to push him to print or even submit some of his poems, but he keeps refusing to really look into it. He isn't sure any of them are really print worthy and these are just done in his spare time. He does, however, have several leather bound books he keeps them all in.
Horror -- Out of all the genres in the world; be it for movies, t.v., books, games, you name it; the one he returns to often is horror. Perhaps because the horror genre is good for giving him a sense of control in his life, so noted as he turns to horror movies more often when he's most stressed, it's just... become the biggest staple in his life. He collects horror movies and books, his favourite being works within Lovecraft's worlds, the shelves in his room stuffed full.
Studying Ancient Languages -- It probably goes without saying that Seiji is a total bookworm, taking one look at his room speaks volumes (ha!). But horror isn't the only thing that draws this boy into the pages of books. Perhaps spawned by his love of the Cthulu series, ancient languages are a passion project for him. They don't even have to be real languages either, he's done research into fantasy languages as well and can write almost fluently in most of the ones he's researched.
For a time he even debated making his studying of ancient languages his main goal as far as a career went, and it's not wholly off of the table yet, but his passion to be a flautist is still winning.
Pros:
It's fine, I've got this. Self Reliant-- Living in a single parent family with a father who works all week, Seiji became the head of house before he was really ready to. Which meant caring for himself and his younger brother; from making sure they were both fed to packing their lunches for school every day. Even now he keeps that same mentality, of relying on himself to get things done, and doesn't often ask for help if he can help it. The house is kept clean, home work is done nightly and never slacked on, and so on. He doesn't need help, he can get this. That doesn't mean he won't accept help if given to him, but he doesn't really go and do the asking.
This is either bravery or stupidity.Brave -- Having to become self reliant at a young age, there isn't really much that scares Seiji. He has no problem putting himself in situations he probably not aught to be in in the defense of himself or others (mostly others). Of course being brave also means knowing when to turn tail and run when things get over one's head and he has no problem admitting that it's time to retreat.
Is that really such a good idea?Voice of Reason -- Using evidence and logic Seiji, and personal experience that involves his brother, is usually the person who would like to point out that the thing that can be incredibly dangerous is not something one should do. He can sometimes go out of him way to make sure those he's with knows that this a bad idea (tm) or that there are better ways of doing that.

I'm the leader. I decided when it's safe.Bossy -- Because of this, Seiji can kind of come off as bossy. Well maybe a little bit more than "kind of". Between having to practically raise himself and his brother, as well as being the voice of reason, he thinks he knows best and is a bit of a know-it-all. Inadvertently thinking of himself as the leader of the group because he's so mature, he tends to boss people around with out even really thinking about it.
"You didn't tell me you had a younger brother?" "You didn't ask."Reticent -- Seiji doesn't really like to talk about himself. He'll give you information you ask for but don't get mad if he fails to tell you something about him that you didn't ask about. He also doesn't like to talk about his feelings, or really in general. He's happier to just be a part of a group doing the talking and listening to them. This often makes him appear aloof, though really he isn't.
Oh I don't got this...Emotional Insecurity -- He also doesn't always know how to react to negative comments about being too bossy or that he seems so aloof because he's not very open about herself. Some times he can get angry other times he tends to just close off more and isolate himself. Having being forced to mature before he was probably ready to means he finds himself feeling like an outsider with no real way to connect to others.

Seiji is 1/2 Japanese 1/2 Irish American Fluent in both English and Japanese, though Japanese is his first language. Was born in Japan, where his mother and father met and married, but moved to Mayet sometime between his birth and the birth of his younger brother. Holds no real ill will to his younger brother, but the two clash horrendously. It doesn't help that Oisin (o-sheen) is reckless and likes to get himself into trouble/fights. A five year age difference doesn't help either. Does his best to reign his brother in and keep his trouble down so as to not stress his father out. Jokes on him, he gets the stress now. He and Melody are actually good friends despite a year being between them, having met in one of the orchestra classes (he was helping out in). He was sad to hear she switched schools but texts with her regularly. Scent/Cologne: earthy patchouli, sage, russet sandalwood, grimy leather, fig leaf, and lemongrass. They live in a single story, ranch styled house that fits the three of them perfectly, especially considering their dad is hardly home.

Seiji has light brown/dirty blonde hair kept in a shaggy style just long enough to pull back somewhat on hotter days.
Seiji has green eyes, like a new forest ☗ (#c7dd19), almond shaped and narrowed. He stands at a surprising 6'1", isn't built but he isn't too thin, and has a very angular face. He has light skin with a golden undertone to it.
He has a preference towards nuetral/darker colors.
Wear a pair of thin, round-ish, black framed glasses, has his right ear pierced with a small, black metal hoop, and wears a black leather bracelet on his left wrist.

Universal Basic Income - Starting the month following their 18th birthday citizens receive a monthly deposit of $2000 in an account of their choosing. In the event they have opted to not do business with a Bank or Credit Union this stipend is deposited onto a government issued card.
- Additional monthly amounts are given to families with children, varying by age of the children and household income, supplemented with assistance for basic grocery necessities.

While we understand that this may not change much in regards to a single parent household, especially not if Seiji's father had invested that additional income into his business or into a fund for his children's future, but extra assistance may have been available!
