[list] [*] [i]Theatre --[/i] Gently has been in the theatre for most of her life. From a child, performing proudly in her school productions and any other opportunity she could around town, to high school as she endeavored to enter into a more professional realm with auditions to legitimate playhouses and ideas of founding her own theatre company. That dream remains, and while she has since become busy with her degree in journalism and the pursuit of 'truth' in the media, performance and her life on the stage always remain in her mind. She pursues open productions and auditions, and keeps monologues practiced and ready just in case something opens up and calls to her in a way she just cannot ignore.

[*] [i]Gadgets --[/i] Tinkering with things is a way of relaxation for Gently. It started with model kits and hobbies featuring clay and fabrics, until she realized her focus was less artistic and more practical in application. She liked to see her creations in use, doing a simple task or helping with an otherwise menial job. She snuck in classes that helped her in this engineering streak during college, and developed a very technical mind that she uses to help her create the strangest of oddities. Are they always useful? Absolutely not. In fact, most of the time she picks something because it seems pointless. Why should someone make something that spins ice cream cones to minimize melt drip risk? Her answer is always simply to see if she can.

She is never satisfied, and always striving to be more than what she is. Though she is happy in her job, she wants to do more. Wants more responsibility, a bigger name, a wider audience. Though she loves community theatre, she wants to win awards, and be a face worth recognizing. Not famous, exactly, but the top of her own game, in her town. She is willing to dedicate herself to her pursuits, and delights in finding a challenge worth fighting for. She is not afraid of doing what is necessary, and does not shy away from even the toughest of fights. Her strength comes from that drive, that raw determination, no matter what aspect of her life it is applied to.

[*] [b]Make It Double[/b] [i]Adaptable --[/i] With a curious mind that is never at rest, Gently is intelligent and quick witted. She can think on her feet and adapt to a shift in plans without tripping, ready and almost eager for bumps in the road. She can come up with plans on the fly, and has a penchant for leading the charge whether asked to or not. Loud, bold, and confident, Gently sees the world for what it is: a challenge to be faced head on at all times. It is not easy to get her to quit, and she is more than willing to fail in an effort to find a way to succeed. No matter how many attempts it takes, or how she has to change things to make it work. She never loses sight of her goal, even if the path she has to take to get there wanders through some shadowy places.

[list] [*] [b]Surrender Now[/b] [i]Cocky --[/i] Confident is a word not quite strong enough to describe just how sure of herself Gently is. She is her own biggest fan, and has no trouble accepting how awesome she is, and letting others know it, too. Even if she is not exactly succeeding in the way she thinks she is or, more often, the way she wants others to think she is. All about perception, Gently is determined to keep up a facade of pure success and control. She hates failing with a fiery passion and that bitter anger towards it can often lead her to stupid and dangerous decisions to ensure a personal victory no matter what the actual outcome is. The harder something is, the more reckless and confident she becomes, to her own detriment and others. She might be battered, broken, and everything around her is on fire but she will still refuse to admit defeat. Overzealous and blinded by her confidence, she will laugh off the obvious loss and keep pushing her way forward, until the insurmountable truth forces her hand. Even then, as she's running away or giving up, she will not admit defeat.

[*] [b]Prepare to Fight[/b] [i]Deceptive --[/i] In her self appointed path to greatness, Gently has perfected the art of lying. She will play whatever role is required to insert herself where she wants to be, and will say what others need to hear if it ends up being beneficial to her. With no qualms about lying or stretching the truth when directed to, she is certainly not the paragon of truth she portrays in her media jobs. Ultimately, everything comes for a price with her, and her decisions are made while weighing in what will benefit her the most in her own progress. It leaves her as morally dubious, to say the least, and she is not above pulling the rug out from someone else if it means getting better footing for herself. All the while, of course, she will have a smile on her face.

[size=11]Gently is cute and small in most regards. Short, less than five foot, and thin but still somehow rugged in her tenacious attitude and stances. She has short, wavy brown hair but has recently buzzed one side of it and combed the other side over. She dresses in classically 'reporterish' ways, with a side of trendiness attached. She loves peacoats and wears her glasses not just to complete the look, but to be able to see. [b]WHY were you recruited?[/b] Painite was recruited for her ties to the local paper and her wit when it comes to painting the normality of day to day life in Mayet City, even when people notice some strange things. She has built herself to a place where she can convince most civilians otherwise, either through her articles or the pieces she creates for the local news. Painite also has a proclivity for inventions and a clever mind. She is useful in creating traps and plotting tactiful, if sometimes over complicated, missions. Her willingness to do whatever it takes is an added bonus, and makes her particularly ruthless.


[b]What have you been doing for the past year?[/b] Hard at work at the paper, Gently has established herself as a liaison of sorts to nullify any potential leeks into the media, legitimate or not, the dark kingdom's covert actions may experience. She combats sensational stories as well as tempers and rewrites breaking news to befit the peaceful nature of the city. What her superiors want to be known becomes the truth she reports.
