Early evening on a Sunday, while most people would probably be getting ready to wander off to work bright and early the next morning, throwing the last of their laundry in the dryer or finishing up food prep or maybe even driving home after a nice weekend away, worrying about having to make up for neglecting the usual weekend chores, Sailor Scylla was visiting old haunts. While she had not left Destiny City for more than a few brief overseas trips, she had been distracted enough by the needs of her 'civilian' life that time had led to neglect, and there were places and people she hadn't seen in far too long. Sun was not long set, and she could see the last bits of it in the distance from where she stood on the roof of a building, peering out over the occasional hoods of cars passing below, scanning those few figures revealed by headlights. No one seemed to be paying each other any mind, Destiny City blissfully too tired to care if they were going to have a monster pop out at them (likely again, considering) or some uniformed stranger pop out of the shadows going 'boo'. She went through phases of envying their ignorance. Coffee was not her poison of choice tonight; it was planned to be an early night, so she had a travel mug full of tea instead. Still strong, but the aroma was relaxing. The lid was popped up so Scylla could take a sip, senses reaching out to search for any other auras. A little Chaos nearby, more Order in the distance, but for the most part it seemed to be just... people.

It wasn't a boo, but the tranquility of the night was interrupted by the sudden appearance of a chaotic energy signature. To those not new to the game, the signature would have been muddled from the typical agent, touched by a darker kind of force that warped the signature slightly to feel different.
The half-youma was back in Destiny after assisting elsewhere. They had work to resume of course, not one for taking holidays, and wanted to pick back up on their familiar patrols. They had been making a point to rotate areas and had to be sure to scout and memorize key spots to telework up from the Negaverse.
Adjusting the lapels of their uniforms, they scratched one wolf-like ear and looked up with golden, glowing eyes at the sky. Nice weather. A small breeze. A bit humid. Probably would rain a little later.
Flexing it's claws, it felt out and turned to a signature very close by and headed in that direction.
It was hungry to collect some energy and made its way up to the roofs in search of the senshi.

The crackle of a Chaotic aura pulled Scylla's attention away from her scanning of the streets. It was... different. Not in terms of matching the power of a General Sovereign, or a Senshi Royal, but it didn't feel as disorganized as a youma. And it was distinctly Chaos, not something akin to the wisp-filled beast that had attacked not long ago. One of those wisps still stuck to her, in fact, spinning around her arms and legs, twisting through her hair and constantly trying to climb in her nose or something. The Senshi of the Kraken turned to meet the owner of the aura as it drew ever nearer, turning and taking another sip of tea, her back to the city so that any teleportation behind her would be on distinctly non-existent footing. Not that it would hurt anyone at this height, but it would keep them from trying a simple stab-and-grab. Her tattoos glowed softly in the darkness, illuminating her in a way that her uniform just didn't bother to try and hide. In her homeworld they would have been of use, helping the Scylla blend in with the flora and fauna, hiding their shape; here, it was a beacon. Approaching she could at last see a figure, and she squinted to try and make it out better, her mind not quite connecting what she could see, much less who it could have been. After all- she knew absolutely no one with hands that large and sharp... "A youma?" she muttered, and squinted at it again.

The ears of the creature twitched as if straining to hear what noise had broken the general rustle of the city, and as they moved closer, not pausing to stop regardless of the enemy before them, their golden eyes glowed more and more. It was then, finally, it paused. Standing, it squinted and then perked up again, and there was evidently a tail behind the creature moving quickly. "Scylla?" Wolframite asked. "Is that you?"

Oh god. It felt like chaos, but the ears twitched like a dog, and that was kind of adorable, in an also vaguely horrifying kind of way. The glowing eyes and the jagged aura were strange and unfamiliar... It knew her, though. And was it- wagging a tail??? Had Scylla ever made friends with a youma? Was it a masochist? A pervert? A nega in a fursuit?? Or was it having the vaguely pleased body language because there was a nice big bounty on her head and it was thinking it could buy a new TV? "Yes," she answered cautiously, brow furrowed, "I'm Scylla." But who was this? There was a vague familiarity in the voice, but... But there was no way. Sure, she hadn't been able to contact Gevaudan, and he hadn't come to the animal shelter where she and the twins had volunteered in.... a while.... but... "Gev-" she started to ask, but cut it off. No; this order was Chaos, and Gev had another name, long before. The name of an enemy become a friend. ".... Wolframite?"

The confirmation was enough for him, and as she assured her identity, he moved again. Quickly to get closer and become more clear to her just as he wanted to see her with his own eyes. The name of his past self did cause him to slow down, but he continued his approach until she was more in few. A stone's throw away. Standing there in a captain's uniform, Wolframite the half-youma looked back. While his features and height were much the same, even the human being very similar to what it was before aside from some minor color changes, he had some glaring differences. Half-monsterous, he stared at her, smiling. "It's been a long time. I haven't seen you in ages. I'm glad my memory has kept in order to recognize you again."

Oh, he moved quickly. Startled, Scylla couldn't help but drop her travel mug, the loud metallic clank as it fell from nerveless finglers making her blink- making her remember to breathe. But if this was Wolframite, and he remembered her, then- She stood to meet him, almost eye-to-eye as he came into view, and a breathy " Oh" escaped her as she took in the changes that time had wrought. And yet he seemed to be smiling at her, and Scylla returned it instinctively, eyes tracing over the form both familiar and distinctly... not. "What happened?" she couldn't stop the small crack in her voice. "You have um- you've changed." She stepped forward, drawing closer so that her weak human eyes could see him all the better in the darkness. "I am glad you remember me as well. It's always nice to see a friend." But what had they DONE to him?????

Wolframite stared back at her and then at himself, remembering exactly how he looked now and back to her once more. "I made a commitment. I swore my life to the Negaverse in a oath to never leave them." He said, and to this he smiled. "I was never suited for the other side. I should have never left, though I learned a lot about myself in turn. I have given up my pursuit for revenge and dropped that selfish spite for the purpose I original sought before. To protect those dear to me and follow in the goals of the Negaverse I swore to back when I was first recruited by Charonite." He took a breath, as if saying this once again confirmed things to him. Sometimes he still had intrusive thoughts. Fear and anger and spite returning from their burrow inside his heart, but he worked each day against it. "I also paid the price in my pursuit in capturing those of the Dark Moon Court before. I found no resolution, no peace, and lost my sight. In my plea for forgiveness, I asked to give my starseed over to that of a half-youma. I have been blessed to see again and return to service. My Queen has been kind in that." "I know this probably isn't what you want to see and hear, but I want to assure you that I was not fit for the other side. I - don't fit in there. They are gross in their ideals and flimsy in their resolve. I had no faith in anyone there. Their leadership is nonexistent and their motivations are often half-hearted. More a mundane chore than a passion. I want to tell you I am happy, and also happy to see you." He said with a smile. "Regardless of side, I still consider you a friend." And he closed the small distance between them to stand before her. "I promise I won't bite." He joked.

The fact that he had chosen this was both... heartbreaking, and... well. This awkwardly resigned feeling, like a sense of relief that he had welcomed it and not been forced into it. People made a lot of choices others in their life that their friends, families, or other loved ones wouldn't agree with. This was a heavy one, and Scylla didn't bother to try and keep her face still as she processed it. She let Wolframite watch through the stages of grief, self-reproach, mourning, and eventual acceptance of his current state. She should have done more. A friend who had joined Order, lost again. If she had done more, if she had been a better friend, if she had helped him see the difference he could make- But he smiled, and he looked at peace with his choice. And he had a point, for some of them. Their leadership is nonexistent and their motivations are often half-hearted. More a mundane chore than a passion. She was the same way, at times. She had been, herself; patrolling for no reason. Every time feeling like it was in some way a losing battle, and it was... demoralizing. Flimsy in their resolve."I bite back." she replied dryly, and while her smile was tremulous, it was real, as she reached out to touch one of his hands. "Can you still have chocolate? We liked hot cocoa nights, and if you can't have chocolate anymore your Queen committed a criminal act." One of many, but this one especially heinous.

His ears went flat at the question. "It upsets my stomach. Sadly." He missed it, a lot, but there were other desserts out in the universe and things that tried to mock it in some ways. Yet they would never be the same. "There have been a few foods that don't sit right with me anymore. I suppose that's what happens when you mutate yourself. I've had to make a lot of adjustments learning how to navigate my changed body and just daily life back in the Negaverse. I already made plenty of sacrifices, and I didn't have much of a civilian life anyways. Not one that mattered. One that stuck. I burned too much down before. I don't much care to reclaim that now. I've been doing what I can back at the base." He said, not caring about talking freely about his progress and the Negaverse. Scylla was different after all. "And you? How have you been? I haven't seen you in ages?" He had noticed her expression changes as she looked at him, but he wasn't sure what to say about it. "Are you disappointed?" He asked.

Hearing that Wolframite couldn't have chocolate, Scylla's nose wrinkled. "Yes," she said resolutely, "Metallia has committed a war crime in making you unable to have chocolate, and you can't change my mind." But if there were a few others... and yet he seemed to be taking it all so well. But it was the comments about not having much of a civilian life, of it not mattering, of not wanting to reclaim it... that was what twisted the knife the most. "I've been keeping busy," she said after a while, "I patrol every night that isn't devoted to my family. I visit my homeworld." she held out an arm, and then pulled her hair away from her spine and did a small twirl. "I'm not sure if you remember what the markings mean, but we call it Transcension. I... made a choice." Are you disappointed?"That's a complicated question, Wolf." she slipped easily into an old nickname, and then her nose wrinkled as she realized just how apt it was now. "I'm happy that you made a choice of your own, instead of having it forced upon you by circumstances. I'm ashamed of myself for not paying more attention to you as Gevaudan, wasn't a better friend, to give you a reason to stay and help you find a place among Order." She sighed, tilting her head up and back, staring up at the stars. "A friendly face, a family, comrades. Anything. I am happy for you for finding a place you feel you belong, and just sad it couldn't be shoulder to shoulder with me. I'm... heartbroken... that one day we'll be seeing each other again on opposite sides of a battlefield."

"I was not for for the knights. They need leadership but anyone who attempts to take on the mantle is shot down. Too many of them want freedom but then are bitter at the lack of results. They are muddled by the idea that they can come out of their war without blood on their hands. Many if them don't know why they are fighting and are putting their lives on the line for a cause they don't fully believe in or don't know the full scope. They n** and bite for want of power but are seperated in community by escaping to their own wonders. There is no family there. No support. Each agent is left to figure it out on their own. Of they don't wise up, I will take them. I will offer them all that the knights lack. Training. Mentors. Guidance. Protection. A belief in their betterment." He said with a mix of a threat to the knighthood at large and a sly greed.
"I also couldn't let my want for revenge leave me. I also destroyed my chance in things working out. My husband left because of my cruel selfishness and rage. My dishonesty to make that chance be different. I traded that happiness in my pursuit to find a end to my madness. And in that end I found a hollow truth. There was nothing to gain. At that point, I had no other life. Camelot has seen how far I could go. I killed. My bloodlust does not end with a signature and uniform change. I still want for bloodshed now. Even more as I am. My madness only fueled it more."
He smiled to her, softly. "I was never your responsibility. Do not blame yourself for how I stand now. I doubt much could have changed. I'm far from the boy I was. I gave years and my years to the war. I don't think I could settle like others can. At this point, it hurts to think of the time invested to now go in for a pound. I laid my bed and I can find comfort among the covers."
"And you made yours. Dedicated your planet to the cause then? I never understood how that all worked. But that is a step far from others. You've come a long way too."
"Despite what side we are on, I do consider you a friend. While my Queen comes first, I will help you where I can. Remember this. And of the time comes we should be against each other on the field, do not hesitate to do what is needed to win. Give me that respect."

"No recruiting the knights," Scylla said without malice, clucking her tongue at the half-youma's sly words, "we need those." His point was not missed, however; the rudderless feeling had not left, though people were slowly finding their own way. But who, of late, had galvanized Order? They seemed to be peaceful, with less hot heads trying to step on each other. Maybe because too many of those hot heads had burned out- or found purpose in other ways. "Perhaps not my responsibility," Scylla said gently, one small hand still poking at his form inquisitively, curiosity clear. She had never been this close to a youma before, and her... companion? Did have some very doggie traits. She was hardly to scratch his tail, but her hand did find itself traitorously moving out to tweak at his ears, should he not pull away from her. "My friend, though. And that's why it is so... complicated to know you are happy. Some part of me says I should be happy for you, and another mourns you. But I will learn, and try." She smiled. "Because despite what side we are on, I still consider you a friend. I will look for cocoa alternatives for you. And, when I must, I will foil all your plans, ruffle your fur the wrong direction, and everything." A teasing wink was sent his way, humor shielding her emotions But the mischief faded. "I may not be able to have you at my back in battle anymore, but I am confident I can trust you with my death, if it came to it, and in many ways that might be more important."

"It does sadden me. I know even if I was to win and wish for you to join me, you would hold onto your beliefs to the bitter end. It is what I hate and respect about you. That you will never join my side and be valued for the full extent of your mind and prowess. It would kill me to know you died from anyone who did not treasure the achievement and gravity it was to take you from this world. I should only hope your starseed returns to the Cauldron so that I can fight you again in another time. Maybe on the same side of the world is merciful." It was a soft, sweet fantasy. One this life he had wouldn't ever know would happen.
The prodding didn't bother him as he lifted a arm for her to inspect. "Mutation in half-youma is strange. I am myself but a lot has been an adjustment. It took a while to touch and manuver with my claws. I tend to have different mannerisms too from my other side. Sometimes it speaks to me as myself or a entirely seperated entity in my mind. A manifestation of the other half of myself. I know it's me but it feels like another creature with its own opinions and beliefs." He shared and then tried not to look too pleased by the ear touching.
It was something intimate that he usually only let Laven enjoy. "Careful. They're - sensitive." He mumbled as he tried to meet her in the eye and failed.

She wanted to reach out and hug him. Some part of her, a part that recognized the danger beyond the civility and peace of their conversation, was afraid. "What's saddest of all is that we're not... enemies. Most people I have met on your side, and mine, want the same thing, I think. It all comes down to different views, and fear, and disagreements on methods- and starseeds- and how to get to our goals, and-" Scylla smiled, scratching her manicured nails carefully behind Wolframite's 'sensitive' ears, not unlike how she would Catstor, or the dogs at the pound on the weekends. "It's all so human, isn't it? Even when we're all wanting a similar goal, we're all on different sides." After all, multiple Negaverse agents had told her they wanted to protect Earth. But the power behind them... was that what it wanted? Chaos had devoured half the galaxy, if not all, greedily finding its way here. Where something had stopped it, holding it off desperately, until all that was left seemed to be Destiny City. Yet, still, there were somehow greater threats, beyond the Surrounding? But that was neither here nor there, not at this moment in time, talking to an old friend. "Is it strange, having another... mind? Inside you? Don't you worry that one day it will take your place, and you will simply be... stuck there, inside your own mind?"
