The Arena, having been cleaned and prepared for today's event, has a small plethora of random objects strewn about the place. From leadpipes, to tables, to even an abandoned bar in the corner. The place was definitely re-decorated for the time being as Lilly slowly walked onto the stage with a knowing smirk. "The combatants proved themselves worthy for their first battle, using their weapons and knowledge. But since we kept them here, with food and drink provided along with a resting bed for today's next event, they weren't allowed to reload any dust used from their previous battle. And now today, the boss demands they prove themselves worthy once more with new rules. TODAY! Our contestants are not allowed to bring their weapons but only objects and everyday items they can find from the waiting room to the arena. We also provided a nice display of random items from a book, to beer bottles, to even 2x4s! The boss demands to see how well they can run themselves in a street fight with everyday objects around. Turn these daily items into weapons of mass destructions!" This statement got some in the audience's blood pumping with excitement at wanton destruction before she was ferried away, this time by a pair of twin-birds while her mic changed into a megaphone.

"Introducing first...Mr. Slayer of Grimm himself and the on-going badass who bested our poor Princess, she was designed by our boss you know. But now that she was out of the tournament due to a smart ring out, he advances! Wielder of spears but now bearing no weapons but his own fists, the one and only Garret Reveley!!!" As she shouted, this time Garret was allowed travel via horseback instead of Julin, but he wasn't allowed to ride it freely, instead he was escorted by spearmen to make it look more official as they stood to the side, letting him dismount and get onto the tournament ring next to some 2x4 and what appears to be a champagne bottle as the spearmen took the horse away.

"Our next competitor, from Beacon Academy himself! A boy who didn't get a chance to show off in the previous battle before, but now has the chance to show off to everyone that Rey isn't the only student to be wary of in Beacon, give him your support, Leeeeeyyyyoshaaaaa RRRRRRUUUURIIIIIIK!" This time, as she gave his introduction, Lyosha was ferried to the arena via a Jeep, driving him to the arena and turning to let him out to the arena. Once he was out, the jeep drove away, and it was apparent he was next to some left-over firecrackers and a tennis racket. Lilly was pulled away from the arena as she soon asked. "Will Garret continue on his win-streak towards the Champion or will he be shown up by this newcomer! Let fate roll the dice! BEGIN!"

Lyosha Rodion (Fava) Ruric

The Excited Bug: Lyosha

User Image

From the jeep revealed the giant himself, Lyosha Ruric who had been prepared for a fight out of his element. Everyone he had fought used weapons, but without them, they were useless. That’s where Lyosha knew he would excel, although he didn’t know the new rules would give him this very dream. As he got out of the jeep, he carried a large duffle bag, black, and without title. Although it had the smell of an overused gym bag (mostly because that was the case) It clinked and jangled with each of his movements, especially when he sat it down on the cement flooring. As he listened to his introduction, he smirked and then heard the rules (almost as if he received them backwards). A devilish smirk grew on his face as he heard this, he knew it, this would be extremely fun. Lyosha didn’t wear a fighting gettup, or an outfit for a stage. He wore a simple red jacket with a white shirt, black jeans and tennis shoes. He looked like he was about to go to the gym- and in fact it was! He was wearing his workout gear- which was the same that he wore to his classes because most of the time, he ignored his uniform. He would stretch lightly as he grabbed the things that he found on the ground, the tennis racket and every single firecracker, he did it like every one of them was a piece of money. He’d put it in his pocket as he’d get into his duffle bag and grab out the lead pipe, his dust crystals, lighter and the cheap smoke bombs. He smiled and waved to the crowd. “He only won one fight guys, he’s not all that good, after all, he doesn’t have a weapon!” He said to egg on the crowd to create as much noise as they possibly could. Hoping to get a few people against the person he was fighting, crushing the spirits of his opponents? It wasn’t usually what he liked to do, but today it was different, he’d use everything he had to win in this fight!. He also tossed the pipe around with a smirk covering his face, he was about to have fun, especially from his practice swings, with each swing he put all his force into it, making a large Whoosh! sound with each swing.

While not fuming, Garret was annoyed. In the first challenge, he was barred from slaying his Grimm opponent and forced to use less than lethal means to defeat it. Now he had been told he would fight without his spears. Given the significance of his family weapons...leaving them behind did not sit well with him even if he did so to continue in this. He did mention if either were found out of place or disturbed there would be hell to pay; which was not a threat he had made lightly. Instead, he would have to scavenge for a make-s**t set of weapons to replicate his spears. He knew his own weakness without them and his specialized fighting style; he needed his spears in order to do well. This had seemed a test of endurance as much as it was skill; given how the rounds were carrying on, even with breaks in between them. He had used a bit too much of his dust then as well; he would need to ration the remaining ones depending on how many fights were left. He may also have to use his semblance this time as well; the boost to speed would help out greatly. Unfortunately, the closest things he could find to spears were...a broom and mop. Garret would sigh softly. 'It seems I have no other options,' he thought with resignation. At least aura would make these last longer; they just lacked the piercing ability of a spear. But he could use them as he would the shaft of a spear at least. As he was escorted out, by horseback this time, he would clutch both his make-shift weapons in his left hand while the other held the reigns. While not a camel...the principle wasn't too off from a horse at the very least. Though he had little freedom with it; having yet another escort. 'At least they seem less like they are trying to make sure I do not go on a blood-filled rampage,' he thought to himself. His eyes would scan the arena as the hostess spoke; seeing it littered with various objects. Some metal pipes as well that may be long enough to trade in this equipment for. Or act as replacements should he lose these two; if given the opportunity to gather them at the least. He was truly starting to get tired of their 'boss' and his restrictions for fighting.

He would get a better introduction than before at the very least; noting his accomplishment in defeating Princess, and accurately highlighting his primary fighting style even if he lacked the weapons. He would look to the crowd, curious, on why so many came to watch the games the true enemy set up to delay his inevitable defeat. Garret only phrased it as such for one reason; if they truly believed the 'boss' would win they would not be here as he threatened to unleash Grimm on Vale. 'Perhaps they think this all a mere show?' was another thought going through his mind. He would dismount from the horse and await on his side of the arena for his opponent; being surprised he was to fight a student of the academy. He did not know the particular student truthfully; he only knew a select few despite working with the school. The hostess would add the dramatics of posing a rhetorical question; could Garret make his prior win into a streak or would the newcomer beat him. The student was a goliath of a kid, with a large duffel bag brought in. It made Garret curious what was in it; though knowing the rules he wondered if it were just an assortment of items he crammed in case the arena was sparse. He seemed to be wearing clothes for a gym as well. 'Whatever you feel like fighting the most in,' Garret thought to himself as he noted him grabbing some of the items around him; something Garret did not follow in doing for the time being. As he smiled and waved to the crowd, he would try to lower Garret's achievement and ability just because he lacked a weapon. A smirk would appear on Garret's face at that. "Come Goliath, let us see what the academy taught you and if you shall be the one to save Vale. I'll be eager to let Aurtrox know who needs a remedial lesson," he would say as a challenge to the kid. He was not one to stay silent, and respect was to be earned. He saw the kid, while he spoke, begin practicing with a pipe and hearing the sound of his strikes. It had force to it, but he would not know how much till they actually fought. He had an added goal in this now; if the kid was all talk, he would expose it. He would calmly walk towards his opponent now, not rushing or activating his semblance, but a red aura would surround him as he brandished mop in his right land and broom in the other.

Lyosha Rodion (Fava) Ruric

The Cheap Bug: Lyosha

User Image

The words would fall on deaf ears, Lyosha promised his parents that he wouldn’t let their words affect him, only his actions. Because he knew that he could kill someone if it activated against a weaker opponent. He’d take a deep breath as he would put the pipe onto his back and reach down and pick up something that was hidden in his right hand. A mop and a broom…? And he uses spears...Well I guess I have to get in close and stay there. I’ll break the brooms or his arms if I have to. His planning was chaotic and in honest, dumb if others looked into it. They were over simplified, Lyosha’s only plan was to break him, and would plan to do it fast enough to get the upper hand. He took a breath and would approach him slowly, not running. He made sure he didn’t run but he would walk calmly, almost imitating him, his aura was….simply not there. A point of curiosity? Perhaps it was him being incompetent- it may as well be that as he approached him, waiting for him to make the first move. Lyosha moved his arms as you would do if you were normally walking...he didn’t want to make the first move and would refuse it. His thoughts burst, thinking of ways Garret could recoil and react to one of his large swings. Lyosha may have been dumb, but in this field? He knew what to do, wait and react. It was like his father had taught him whenever he went to hunt, ‘wait until they’re least expecting it, then strike with all of your force.’ That was his very plan, leaving himself open on purpose, making him a perfect target for abuse because, after all, he was made for that. As he approached he didn’t speak but he took mental notes of what he could do. With two long weapons in hand, what can he do? He can strike me, try to trap me at a long range where he can hit me and I cannot...Well I guess I just have to break through the line, huh? He thought as he began to pick up the pace, quicker, quicker, until eventually he would meet Garret in the middle but would continue walking, with no aura seeming to be coming from him (except a tinge of red on his fists for now). He didn’t run but made big strides to get between his arms, between the two sticks. Making himself a wide, big target, and hell for maneuverability on Garret’s part. If he was attempted to be stopped on his path, like a train, he’d continue on. Otherwise, he would stop and look down on him. “Let the teachers know...They’ve never seen me fight!” His voice was loud, with the close range it would rattling, hoping to aggravate him just enough or one hand to raise up, with a diagonal (going from low to high) throwing what was in his left hand right into Garrett's face- a hand full (which was large) of the sand! It forms dust and fills the air, and being almost impossible not to cover his eyes or at least his face in general.

Garret would note Goliath to put his pip onto his back, and clutch something in his hands. What it was he could not be certain; it was entirely covered in his fist. 'He would note abandon a weapon lightly; I must remain cautious,' he thought to himself, unaware of Lyosha's fighting style while his had been made readily apparent; at least in ideal circumstances. Goliath would also seem to imitate Garret; not running into battle for aggression or standing in place to be more reactionary. It was the middle ground strategy that had the flexibility to be either, which was why Garret had been doing so himself. Goliath also did not seem unsure or to be merely replicating him; no, his expression and demeanor seemed confident. Garret had the advantage of reach; even if the weapons were only brooms his aura could keep it from breaking and his strength could make them effective bludgeoners. And humiliating ones too, depending on how the fight goes; he was not quite as proficient in this kind of fighting as Geremald though. Goliath would quicken his pace then, seeming eager to cross the gap; perhaps realizing once they were close, the best way to neutralize this style was to get past their main reach. Garret was unsure on that; he may've also just wanted to get things underway. 'Very well, let us commence,' Garret though to himself as his own speed and pace would increase to match his. He had yet to notice any defensive aura on Goliath but he had been expecting to see it once his "weapons" made contact with him. He did notice a tinge of red on Goliath's fists though; which was something to keep in mind as something was still hidden in that hand. The oddest part was he seemed to not assume a defensive or offensive stance once they were nearing melee range; rather he left himself open. Garret took the opportunity though as he would strike out with broom followed by mop; taking advantage of his own ambidextrousness. The broom, from Garret's left hand, would strike towards Goliath's right side; aimed towards the side of his head. The mop, from Garret's right hand, would follow swiftly whether the broom was blocked or not with a straight strike towards his chest. The first strike was to test his defenses, while the latter was also meant to keep him at a distance by having the mop act as a spacing barrier as Garret put his strength into the strikes. This would also let him know how strong Goliath was; if he could overpower him or not. The Goliath did not seem deterred from trying to bridge the gap, but Garret wasn't of mind to allow him to. Garret intended to control the battle.

Lyosha Rodion (Fava) Ruric

The Cheap Bug: Lyosha

User Image

While Lyosha was not necessarily ambidextrous, he was proficient in using all parts of his body in a fight, and if that meant both of his hands, and both of his legs all at once. He would take a deep breath as Garret made the first move, lyo’s eyes wouldn’t move away from the face of Garret, but instead seeing his shoulder move which is how Lyosha knew of what he was going for. Although not perfectly, the red aura of his went away on his fists, now centering in hexagonal patterns on his left forearm that rose slightly in front of his face, blocking the blow with a THUNK! Although, with the aura and his exceptionally hard skin, it sounded like he was hitting wood on steel, telling garret that the Goliath wasn’t someone who could be taken down with small hits, Although, on the inside of his body, the hit probably left a decent sized bruise but nothing eh couldn’t shrug off, especially with the amount of excitement that he had at the moment. From the resting position his right hand lifted to hit away the jab and with one big step he would shove himself forward, past the jab. His right arm now much closer to Garret than what it was, he flung it upward. Why? Well, when Lyosha Rurik had an idea, he was going to make it happen. There were two things on the planet that are the most stubborn, tardigrades and Lyosha Rurik. In the motion of flinging the jabbing brom upward, from the lower position he threw the sand where it would fly upward, almost forcing it into the eyes and nose of garrett as he took a deep breath, with his right foot he would lift it slightly to try to stomp down, aiming for the shoe, and foot of Garret while he was hopefully stunned by the sand, If he did stomp on his foot, it would be all of his force and weight into it, grinding the foot to hit the pressure point and most especially to lock the spear user in close quarters. At the same time as his foot went down, his right arm that held the sand would come down, using gravity and all of his strength to slam into his right shoulder, trying to grab it and clench onto his muscle and bone, hurting him and keeping him there for Lyo “Call me Goliath, hitting me with stick Bullshit!” He yelled, once again, fast and booming as he preemptively made his next move to quickly and forcefully make him know that Lyosha wasn’t messing around. Like a number of gears, no part of his body was reting. The hand that blocked the attack going to his neck would soon, in the transition become a fast, and strong jab to the left collarbone, hoping that with each large knock would cripple him further. And the left leg, well, it seemed to anchor Lyosha to make sure if anything failed he could throw himself back, missing more jab-like attacks at most. It was the closest thing other than his defenses he had to evasiveness. Red streaks of aura started to seep off him through this, but quickly went away through the acts of his attacks.

On impact with his first strike, Garret could tell something was up. While Goliath had their aura there to lessen the impact as they raised their right forearm, the actual impact felt less like he was hitting a person. It did not stop or change his planned attack, but rather gave him something to store in mind. 'Semblance?' he wondered slightly, thinking it was perhaps that though not quite sure what it all entailed. He was not keen on using his own semblance yet, or any resources, if he did not need to. As he continued with his second attack, the straightforward jab, he would find Goliath sudden lift up his right hand to throw off the angle of his mop attack. While it was still likely to impact part of him, Garret having some control of it unless he moved his hand in a full arc to his side, it did give Goliath space to step forward; which he took. 'Tch, he is not one to be deterred,' Garret thought to himself as his eyes watched his opponent. As he flung up his arm, Garret would attempt to move back thinking it was an uppercut; he had not been expecting the sand though. While his instinctual back-step, to try and avoid the expected uppercut and get more space for his weapons, had prevented him from being pinned he did not move fast enough to avoid the sand. While his eyes would close at an incoming object, some would still get in and the sand on the eyelids made keeping them closed a necessity as he felt the stinging and painful annoyance of the sand.

He would grit his teeth, eyes squeezed shut, as he moved backwards quick. 'A dirty trick...if effective,' he thought to himself. Garret was blind, for the moment, from any of Lyo's attempted attacks; and he doubted the kid would just sit and wait for him to recover. As he backed up, his own red aura picking up, he would retract the mop and leave the broom out as a sacrifice by jabbing blindly forward with it. Intent for Goliath to either strike it, get slowed by it, or try to take it; all of which would find the broom easily leaving his hands. Listening for his opponent, Garret would wipe at his eyes with his free hand to remove the sand and force them open despite the stinging. "Clever trick; though if that is what you need to resort to for victory. You shall fail," Garret would announce And Garret would not be letting this go down lightly. 'Let us see how you like this,' he thought to himself as he moved forward; mop now brandish in both hands as he activated a small white dust on it. Seeing Goliath's strength and durability, he felt he needed an added edge to his own weaponry. As he charged to the Goliath, he would pole-vault with the broom once close enough into a flip to launch him above Lyosha, and come back down with a heavy strike from the shaft of the mop down to where Lyosha was. The wind dust would be used as a booster during this, helping to launch him into the air and adding more speed/force into his downward strike. Regardless of how things went down, one thing was for sure now; Garret was not going to hold back.

[If it were blocked/grabbed]
Had he blocked or grabbed it, Garret would have the wind dust unleash a strong burst in the grip (if grabbed) to loosen Lyosha's hold and/or to push off the impact site (if blocked) to release it from being locked down. Using the wind dust to do a backflip and land, he would rush forward again on the ground this time. He would activate his semblance and attempt to strike by having the mop come up from bottom to top in a diagonal (Lyos right side first to his left side if move were to complete). Intending to press an offense on him now by switching it to either a a vertical sweep if it was successful or a series of jabs if it were unable to go full up; wind dust blasting with each strike.

[If it were dodged]
Garret would land with mop impacting the ground, a large blast of air coming off. Quick to react, he would press the attack (as above) or if Goliath would try to attack he would activate his semblance and bring the mop up in a defensive block as his red aura spiked up around him. Activating the wind dust effect again on impact, he would quickly twist his wrists to move his makeshift weapon away and go for a series of horizontal sweeping strikes towards Lyosha; three in total.

[If it successfully hit]
Lyosha would feel a heavy impact as the force of his body, mop, and wind boosting the strike came down hard against him. Pressing hard against him, he would use the momentum and angling of the strike to flip and land on the other side of Goliath and twist/spin his body as he landed for another heavy strike of the mop's shaft to Lyosha's side; another blast of wind following it.

Lyosha Rodion (Fava) Ruric

The Lost Bug: Lyosha

User Image

There was one thing Lyosha was when it came to these kinds of fights: smart. While he had not been actively coming up with plans, he didn’t need to, some things for him, like this, was muscle memory. Just like how a chef can easily cut meat without looking, Lyo’s body reacted instinctively to certain things. While the sand was made to blind an opponent- there was something else Lyo was well aware of: anger. Lyosha fought with diligence, and his ability of attrition made him even more angry. Sand? It was a cheap, but quick way to make someone angry. Angry people never made Lyo mad, stupid people did.Was he stupid? No, he was threatening but still, human. Why was this important? Angry people were more likely to make mistakes, wide moves or something easily countered. The jabs here and there were either dodged or completely taken, leaving small dents in his skin that he didn’t care for. But the chance to take a weapon wasn’t going to be left alone. The second a jab landed on him he would grab the shaft of the mop and rip it away from Garret, placing it in his left hand, knowing it can probably be used in defense, or, breaking it to get a splintered weapon was a possibility. Lyosha hopped back as Garret cleared his eyes, he took a breath as he saw the spear user pole-vault to him, but there was something Lyo could use here- this is what he was waiting for! Seeing how he was already swinging downwards towards him, it was an easy dodge. But his right hand went to his back to grab the pipe! Quickly and with all of his force Lyo chucked it at Garret as he came towards him, and at the same time, he moved over one, large step, hoping that while he would miss the attack, he would flail from the impact of the steel pipe to the possible face. In the case that the downward strike hit the ground, the gust of wind from the impact straightened Lyo up a bit, holding his hands out now in a defensive stance. “Hey stick-man? You think you’re going to do anything trying to be all vindictive?” He called, as a laugh as he loosened up a bit, reaching into his pockets to grab something else- an object again he made sure wasn’t seen. The staff thought that he had moved around quickly between the two hands. He was getting acquainted with it as the object was carefully moved between the right and left hand. His stance? Now gone, he wasn’t wasting this opportunity. He dropped the broom (being about 15 feet away after backpedaling) and lifted one leg, holding the object with two hands to release it with a throw! Lyo had been a pitcher through highschool, so he knew how to throw a ball. But this? It was a round piece of dust! And as it was thrown, it curved slightly, going from where it would miss, to aiming for the dead center of his chest/ It was a piece of small, light blue dust! Lyosha was trying to get him moving, angry, and most effectively, play the field like it was the streets. *Everything needs to be right and I have to make it so!* He thought to himself as he waited to see what happened. Hopefully the small moment between attacks lessened the guard of Garret, while the calls he said were to try to make him angrier.

With broom lost, but space made, Garret was able to recover and continue forth on the offensive now. As he pole-vaulted with the mop, he would find himself in the air and soon coming down to his opponent; who wisely was not sitting and waiting but launching his own counter attack. Goliath had launched a piece of metal towards him, more specifically a pipe, as he was coming down with downward strike. 'Not enough to stop me,' Garret thought to himself as he let his aura take the hit as he angled his head to the side so it would hit his shoulder instead. Red aura would flash but Garret would neither be slower nor inhibited as he came down; regrettably his target having dodged away and quickly creating distance between the two. It seemed now, unlike before, he was more content to keep a distant than bridge the gap. As the air from the wind dust spread out from the impact and Garret landed, he would quickly stand to his feet. He was about to continue the attack when Goliath spoke, calling him stick man and saying he wasn't going to do anything by being vindictive. Garret smiled at that. 'He has yet to earn it or my anger, just my displeasure,' he though to himself as it seemed Goliath had read him wrong. As he saw Goliath reach to his pockets though, he no longer sat still but rushed towards him with his semblance activating.

Lyosha would see Garret seem to triple in speed at he charged him, giving him much less time than anticipated, and notice his appearance change entirely. Black hair would change to blue, and golden eyes would change to red (how he looks now).Goliath was no longer in a defensive stance, and rather seemed to be preparing for something with another unknown object; possibly sand or something else. Whatever it was it was small enough that Garret could not elucidate its function yet, but he was more guarded than earlier. He saw Goliath drop the broom, and seem to throw something towards him. But it did not deter or alter Garret's path since it seemed like it would miss. He hadn't accounted for the object to curve, but it did not matter. Just as it was about to hit Garret, his aura would flair; sending the dust ball flying up and away from him as a swirl of red aura sprang around him.

"You shall need to do better than that Goliath!" he would exclaim as his speed would get him to Lyosha very quickly after. Calculated and eager, Garret would strike with speed and power at his opponent. Brandishing mop in both hands, he would go for attacks at three times the speed of before (keeping Lyosha at the end of his mops reach). One would be an overhead faint, meant to get Lyosha's arm up in response, only to quickly switch back and instead come from a horizontal strike from left to right; wind dust triggering on hit. He would quickly withdraw it back and then go for a quick jab to the back of Lyosha's knee from the side; meant to put him off balance. Reflexes and speed heightened, Garret was intent on victory; not just to face the final opponent, but to attempt victory against a dishonorable opponent.

The Smarty Bug: Lyosha

Lyosha’s eyes widened as both of his attacks found purchase but it was a poor purchase on both of them, only bouncing off of his aura. At least it drained it slightly, weakening him down over time is the only way I think I’ll be able to beat him. He thought to himself. But the doubt didn’t last for a second! Which was just in time for the realization- Garret’s aura looked different- it was his semblance! So already down to using that huh? Well- I guess I’m not surprised! He thought to himself, and in the few seconds he was given he braced himself but he did so where he could quickly retaliate to an attack with his right arm especially. He took a breath as he saw the first attack coming overhead, though because of his plan he would attempt to tank the hit, preparing his aura in that location. Meaning while the faint didn’t work entirely, it worked some as when he went for the horizontal attack. Lyosha’s slow speed would make this attack hard to avoid- which he didn’t. In reaction to the feint he quickly stomped forward and let loose a quick and strong jab, clearing the distance easily with his stomp towards his chest, trying to switch his aura to his back but only managed to do it partially, meaning the mop would hit him in the back with a large WHAM! but stopping it nonetheless. The air dust managed to move him over slightly (him remaining in his brace but moving his jab over near the right side instead of the center of his body. He winced as his body felt the wood on his back- it felt worse than his father’s belt when he got in trouble! His aura guarded some but most of the force went into his exoskeleton, fracturing it a bit and impacting his skin, leaving a bruise on his body. He gritted his teeth as he saw that he was fooled. “F*cker-” He muttered as he manifested his aura across his body as the third attack would have landed IF lyosha was in the normal spot, but due to the dust effect he was lucky enough to be moved so the attack towards the back of his knee would miss, giving Lyosha the opportunity to try something. Pushing off with his right leg he launched himself towards the side of Garret, using all of his weight (careful not to push hard enough to make himself fall over), behind a punch to the center of his chest, hoping that if he tried to dodge in any direction with a step, his fist would find purchase on his shoulder, trying to break through his aura and hit his shoulder. He wanted to break his means of force. Even with a semblance like his, he needed a functioning body to do so. In the process Garret would be able to see a deep red aura flowing off of him. While it wasn’t his semblance entirely...He was guarded and on the very edge of becoming enraged- although without knowledge of Lyosha’s semblance, there was no way of knowing what he could do. Although he thought to himself. C’mon, one hit! One good hit is all I need and I’ll take him out! If I do that, I will win! This stupid fight is going to be a battle of attrition? Then fine! I’ll fight for hours if I have to, I’ll take your attacks and return them threefold! He thought as his body clenched entirely, using his left arm to throw a heavy hook after his jab, turning his body through the force to aim for the back of Garret. Although (unknown to Garret) while the arm was doing nothing it had been quickly inserted into his pocket and grabbed something fairly small, hidden once more in his palm. It was a piece of small black dust, with his fist not fully clenched until he was close to Garrett, where he would clench his fist and crunch it. This would push lyo’s body and feet onto the ground and thus, his hook would now be targeted to Garret’s lower back. This would also cause Garret’s body to be forced downward, inevitably slowing him down in an attempt to lock him into close quarters combat. All the while, lyosha now held a mad smirk (although kept his lips closed, not wanting to mess up his smile.

As Garret would meet his foe and strike forth with his feint, Goliath would go for his own counter attack. As Garret successfully feinted, more or less since Goliath made no attempt to actively block with his hand, his mop would still land a solid thwack with a loud sound of impact. However, Goliaths own move would succeed; Garret was committed to the attack with his own momentum, so Lyosha stepping forward and unleashing a strong jab forth to Garret's chest. Not being able to react, it would hit and push Garret back a tiny bit. Not more than a few inches, but it did push him slightly from the force. He would grit his teeth slightly, feeling the force of the blow even with aura up, as he noted Lyosha's strength. 'Goliath was an apt nickname; he is strong,' he thought to himself as he was trying to adjust his mental plan now. Still intent to go through with his attack, but realizing due to the mop's length he did not have quite the reach he thought. Even at the end of it, he was not at a safe distance from Goliath's fists. At the same time, he would note the wind dust had moved Goliath a little and only a little; still, every little bit helped. And it was good to test to see his opponent was sure of footing and solid as a rock. As his jab hit its mark, more or less as it was not center as he had planned due to moving Goliath, he smiled slightly at seeing and hearing the effects of it. 'Now we are even,' he thought to himself as he heard his opponent curse.

Garret would note Goliath's aura more visibly manifesting all around him now, and regrettably that his final strike would miss. He was feeling excited; Goliath's blow to him making him truly see the strength of his foe, or so he thought, and he was eager for a good battle. Garret would be surprised to see Goliath almost leap to his side with a punch to his chest. He was unsure what he was planning, and it was certainly new for this fight, but Garret was not going to take the hit. Brandishing the mop, he would bring it up swiftly in a diagonal block to his fist; getting pushed back slightly from the force but quickly maneuvering it to look for an opening or go on the offensive. He was not given much time for it though; Goliath was now on the offensive. 'Ever changing tactics, reach and strength; I see why he was accepted,' Garret would note to himself as he would react to Goliaths successive attacks. He would see him go for yet another attack; seeming to be a hook angled to go behind him. Thinking quickly, mop twirled within his hands, he would move it to go behind him and bring it up to his back; to attempt to block the hook. Seeing the mad smirk on Goliath though, he felt something was wrong; unaware of the black dust within his fist. Rather than a swift block that may've turned to a counter, Garret would be surprised as Goliath would suddenly go down and the force to his back increased greatly. It would knock Garret down to a knee from the blocked strike, causing pain in his arm as well despite his aura as it was forced in an unnatural and painful angle. Letting out a grunt from the pain of it, he would quickly twist with and take a step with his leg (that had knee to the gound) to circle and rise in a way that would free his arm of his painful position and lead him to a standing position; activating wind dust with it to give him speed and help his endeavor. As he did so, he would attempt a passing bash of the mop to the back of Goliath and leap back to give some distance between the two of them. Panting, he would quickly go into an offensive stance as he would stop and face Goliath (roughly ten feet away). "Clever; perhaps you are a worthy foe Goliath. Rise, and let us finish this," Garret would say to him, mop pointed to his prone foe. He would await Lyosha to rise before he would move in to strike. Before the melee could continue, unfortunately, they would find themselves interrupted by the announcer; making Garret sigh in irritation that the match was ending when he was really getting into it.

Out Of Challenges: Garret's current look. For what he did after Lyosha's black dust punch, he essentially went from a 'on one knee' position, to stepping up with one leg in a twist that made him do a 180 essentially; relieving pressure of his arm as it would not longer be held back in a twisted manner but in front of him. I'm not quite sure how to explain it better; x.x.

Lyosha would see the passing bash coming, slowed by the black dust. He would smirk and use the black dust’s force on him to drop below the bash quickly, on the ground as he struggled to get up onto his knee, kneeling on the ground as he looked towards Garret. He gave a small chuckle as he used his strength to force himself up to a position that would look like a braced defensive stance, readying for another impact. A bit of saliva came out of his mouth as he spat away from himself. “Yeah, let’s finish this spear-man” He said as he readied for a quick offensive from Garret- but it never came. He grumbled and looked up to the announcer, irritated that he wasn’t able to finish off the spear user. “I guess that’s the end of our match, eh?” He said, still in his stance just in case. Sweat dripped from his brow as he took a deep breath, waiting for the announcer's decision about the matter. If they extend the fight then I’ll be ready, and also...I don’t know if I can move until that dust wears off!

The battle was slowly beginning to heat up, it was a battle of wits as much a contest of strength now since neither had their original weapons but she was watching this as a way of catharsis as both seemed to have problems with how the other presented themselves. She giggled as Garret started things off with some light warnings about informing the school who needed a remedial lesson in how to fight, causing her to notice he must have been trained by Beacon then. It was followed by Lyosha choosing to not be afraid of the man with sticks for weapons and trying to get close and.... getting stuck as Garret tactically retreated to keep Lyosha at a distance and manage the gap between the two. But she watched as Lyosha was tanking the attack and knocked the other strike away to pocket sand Garret in the eyes. "A quick start to the fight and already we're seeing dirty combat tricks! Lyosha is quick to surprise an old hunter with sand in the eyes!" She cried out on the mic as she giggled and continued to watch while the drone moved around with her.

She hadn't mentioned the fact Garret had been disarmed of one of the Brooms but it mattered little as Lyosha was preparing to attack and keep the pressure on Garret by throwing something at him... which happened to be immediately intercepted by Garret's aura before she even noticed the change in the way his aura reacted. A defensive ability that rendered projectiles null and void from what she saw as Garret's body seemed to just... get faster!? She was seeing practical after-images as he sped up and closed the distance to Lyosha. His attacks seemed to be even faster as Lyosha took a strike to his back. Wind knocked him off to the side slightly as Garret whiffed the following attack before Lyosha seemed to charge at him. The battle was so enticing, so entrancing like a battle between what could have normally been equals, yet she could see something plain as day that both contestants probably knew themselves. Garret had taken the trade like a champ as both made their spaces known. Garret's leaping punch was met by a blocking reinforced wooden pole of the mop. Attacks were being blocked, traded, met and soon enough the old hunter had gotten to a knee before she pulled up a small horn.

Just as the battle was getting good, her earpiece went off on her as she seemed upset as she blew the horn, catching everyone's attention as the drone slowly began to lower her down. One of the Drone's projected onto the stone ground in a colorful image that showed an unseen timer had been going on. She walked towards the two, her microphone glowing before she spoke. "Look, if you both think you're disappointed, I'm just as disappointed as you both were. The battle was getting really interesting but unfortunately the time ran out so the judges have sent me their statements..." She stated, and with a wave of the glowing mic, could it have been her semblance or something else as the effect of dust ended on both of them. "The judges both saw experience and potential here but in the end only one of you could proceed...." She then looked to Garret and pointed the mic at him. "They all voted for you to go forward." She told him coldly, her cheerful demeanor gone as she looked at him with eyes that were reminiscent of a Grimm's stare before she looked to Lyosha. "They congratulate you on your moxxi and the creative way you fought, but they all noted that while you have alot of potential, you lack the life experience to advance forward. Congrats on getting this far, feel free to take some of the stuff here as a reward." She soon cleared her throat as she got back onto her Drone swing as it lifted her away. "Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of this match and proceeding to the final round is Garret Reveley!!!" She shouted, her cheerful voice returning as she was ferried away.
