It's a nice escape from the big city; it’s a five minute drive outside of the Eastern side of town and features clear water and sandy beaches--although, the sand here is notorious for squeaking when you step on it. It’s a hot spot for all fun summer activities, but recently something strange has been happening under the water. Sometimes, people feel like something is grabbing their ankle, even if they are just wading in the shallow end. In the deeper parts of the water, it gets a little more intense: something has been said to grab onto ankles and pull. People have been warned about dangerous pranks, but so far no one has been caught. In the shallow end, anyone unfortunate enough to be targeted may feel themselves being knocked off their feet and tugged into the water; anyone in deep water may feel a firm grip on their ankle, tugging them lower and lower. Somehow, anyone it targets is freed--either by wriggling and fighting, or because someone intervenes and pulls the would-be victim up. No one has drowned in the lake. Yet. It's impossible to see who, or what, is doing this, but it usually gives up after one failed attempt. Usually.
Except for earlier that day. She had been swimming around, enjoying the cool water and the sun, when she felt something under the water reach up and grasp. It had wrapped around her leg and pulled her under, and in that moment, she had felt more fear than she ever had in her life. There was no way to scream, nowhere to run, nothing to save her--except for another alert swimmer who saw her go under and not come up.
She'd been hauled out of the things' grip, then, and brought to the shore, and fortunately she wasn't too badly damaged--but she'd never spotted anyone else, and whatever had been around her ankle hadn't felt like an ordinary human hand.
So, she was back at the reservoir in the dead of night, standing under the moonlight, as Houshi. She could poke around, look for signs of anything strange, and maybe deal with whatever was here. If it would come out and face her.

Julia was hiding in the shadows. She had gone to the Reservoir to check out rumors of something pulling people under the water. She wondered if it was a youma, but she wasn't aware of any operation like that happening. She was surprised when a page suddenly showed up and she quickly ducked out of sight as she observed the senshi.
Julia powered up into Atheneite, grinning like a predator that had just found a particularly delicious piece of meat. Stepping out of shadow resting her spear on her shoulder she stalked up too the page. "Well well a little page out here all on her own."
She was going to her fun with this girl, she was stronger and faster and this girl didn't have magic to protect her so Atheneite felt very sure she would win this fight. "You came to the wrong place little girl." Atheneite leveled her spear and charged forward.

Houshi felt the Captain's aura, and winced. This was....not good, and she was too far from the city to call for help, even if there was any help that would come. Which Houshi was fairly certain there wasn't. There was no one she knew, no one who would come to her rescue.
Which meant that she was alone with a woman who was looking at her like she was a particularly delectable treat. A woman armed with a spear, when all Houshi had was her ame-ame-bozu.
Wonderful.
She dodged the spear-strike, but made no move to raise a hand.
"We don't have to do this," she said, although she knew that reason was likely not an option here. "I just want to know what's pulling people under in the lake."

Atheneite was fast, faster than a page could hope to be. She was tall with a well muscled body and her strength and speed where enhanced with the magic of the Negaverse so she knew it was a matter of time before she caught the little senshi with her spear.
She swung the spear in wide arcs as she forced the senshi back into the water. Although the water made her movements more sluggish she was still fast enough to chased down the other girl. She swung left then right, up then down, diagonally. She was slashing at the girl with great speed and flourish.
"Oh but I want to do this!" She said in a mockingly sweet tone. "See I'm investigating the creature in the lake as well and I think I can learn quit a bit about it if I offer up a sacrifice, that's where you come in my dear. You're gonna be my guinea pig." A maniacal look crossed Atheneite's eyes.

It was all Houshi could do to stay out of the spear's direct way as she was driven back towards the lake. She wasn't nearly as quick as a Captain, and she knew that; there was only so long she could stall.
She realized, with a mounting sense of horror, that there was a very real possibility that this was where she died. All because she had chosen to chase curiosity, and tried to solve a problem that wasn't hers. She'd survived whatever tried to pull her under; it would have been so much less foolish to simply leave it at that, count her blessings, and avoid the reservoir for a few weeks.
But no. She was a fool. An egotistical fool who'd thought she could solve the mystery all on her own.
She flailed, slightly, and that was it--her doom. The spear struck her in the chest, and she made a wet, choked sound.
"Monster," she said, coldly, and she spat at the Captain, aiming for her face. If she died, she would go down spiteful and snapping.
And then she lost her footing, and hit deeper water, and began to sink.

Atheneite was delighted when her spear struck deep into the senshi's chest. The little wet choke she made was almost adorable. Honestly Atheneite was tempted to keep her she was like a poor little puppy. However Atheneite knew that she would not remain adorably defenseless, no soon enough she would have magic and she would gain strength just like that purple knight. No it was a good idea to end her miserable life now when she couldn't fight back.
Atheneite almost laughed when the unnamed knight spat blood in her face and called her 'monster'. "Aww thanks for the compliment." She cooed as she wiped the blood from her cheek with a thumb. She watched as the girl slowly sank underwater. Once she was sure the girl was sleeping with the fish as it were she teleported away.
Atheneite was feeling exhilarated and perhaps even a little scared. This was the first time she had truly killed a person. She had pulled star seeds and she had hurt others but she never killed someone. She was torrent of emotions, she wasn't sure if she loved or hated the feeling. She would have to talk to Painite about this.
