Quote: Wanted Wisps (11) : Small, wispy orbs are floating through the city. They can be found during the day but are far more visible at night. They seem to bob along a few feet off the ground and sometimes flicker in and out of sight. They are warm to the touch and seem to be somewhat magical in nature. Anyone can gather them in their hands; they do not quite feel solid but cannot slip through fingers or escape any container. If you find one of these, you must return it to the merchant. If you do not roleplay with him, it will be assumed that you returned the piece to him anyway; there is no way to keep these. Please see this post for information on turning in the Wisp and claiming your prize. It was all luck, really. Ever since they'd seen that little note a day or two previous, Caer had spent all her time while powered looking out for the wisps. She'd even started carrying a mason jar with her, all the better to contain one in, but when she finally spotted one, it was just for the briefest moment.
"Oh!" She said, aloud, turning away from Hyperborea and to where she'd spotted it. Yes, there it was--a swirl of light, like what had bene drawn on the paper. It had captured the essence of the thing well; clearly whoever drew it knew what they were looking for.
And then, before her eyes, she watched a second one appear, whirling around the first, and Caer wasn't sure if she wanted to ascribe personality to it, but she did think it was certainly interesting.
"Hype, over here," she said, as she jogged off towards the wisps. "Look, it's some fo those odd little glow-things the person at the crater wanted."
It was funny, wasn't it--Caer Sidi, in her bingeing of mythology in order to better understand her fancy new Knight title, had read several pieces of mythology about will-o-the-wisps, just because dives of Celtic myth had led her on long, sometimes interesting Wikipedia journeys. They always suggested that you shouldn't follow them; ghost lights would lead you to your doom as easy as to your blessing. But this time...this time Caer knew that they had to follow the lights. They could trap them, and bring them to that barrier, and maybe get an answer or two at the same time.
Plus, Caer would get to meet someone from space, which she thought was an extremely excellent possibility.

Hyperborea was on alert her mason jar was at the ready, The young Knight of the Cosmos was bound and determined to catch herself a strange little orb creature. The things very much resembled will-o-the-wisps, a devious spirit in Celtic mythology. Hyperborea didn't know if those exist or if these things were actually that however she wouldn't discount the possibility. Through her many years as a knight she had come to discover that a great many myths at least had some basis in reality.
Hyperborea watch Caer Sidi as she went. Hyperborea really admired the young woman's efforts, she always seemed to give it her all even when it came to catching wisps. Hyperborea could only answer in kind with her own efforts. She advanced on on the wisps as she lunged at the thing with impossible speed. The poor wisp was no match for superior physical prowess and was quickly confined to the jar. "I caught one." Hypeborea cheered.
She moved to provide assistance to Caer Sidi as she was doing so she began some small talk. "So Caer you've never met anyone from space right?" Hyperborea questioned as she assisted. "They can be quiet the characters. They're rather strange and I don't just mean in appearance, although they certainly can be unusual in that respect, they're very weird with how they think too. I've meet a handful some were nice others not so much. I once meet this alien named Caedus he helped Order invade Negaspace and the Rift, he was amazing with crystals. But then there was Mad King, I still haven't come to terms with everything that happened then." She said with a shudder just thinking about it.

Caer gasped in delight, seeing Hyperborea scoop up her wisp with ease. It spurred her on to move to corner her own, biting the inside of her cheek as she focused...moved....and...there!
With a bright grin, she held up her Mason jar, looking absolutely pleased with herself. As she should, she thought--this was a silly, minor victory, but it was always good to celebrate the little things. Especially when she was still a Page, and big victories were hard to come by.
Besides, this was something fun, which was kind of far between when she was powered up. It was like chasing fireflies, in its way, although these weren't exactly silly little bugs.
"Hm," she pondered, as she regarded the jar in front of her, her own comparison to firefly hunting making her think of something very important to that particular pastime, "we probably don't need to poke holes in the lid, or anything, right? I doubt these breathe, or anything." They were magical constructs, after all, as far as she could tell--little beings of light and sparkles, but not much substance. Certainly not lungs or anything that might run on oxygen.
Probably. She hoped.
"But no, I've never met anyone from outer space--I mean, Theseus? But that's a little different, since he's your ancestor ghost, not someone alive." She sighed. "It sounds like they're a seriously mixed bag, especially if one was bad enough to be called the Mad King." Just the name made her shiver, a little. Hyperborea had seen so much....Caer wondered if she might have stories like this, one day.

Hyperborea cheered on the Page of the Cosmos as she caught the wisp. She was glad the girl had managed it on her own, not the Hyperborea would have minded helping her but it was good to score these even small victories on her own, after all it was these kinds of thing that made Hyperborea the woman she was today.
"Hmm I couldn't imagine that they breath but I suppose I don't really know. They could escape through the hole." She mused on the possibility a little bit longer. She wished one of her old Mercury knight friends were here, they were always much smarter than her about this sort of thing but she didn't know how to contact Babylon or Mistral and obviously Mímisbrunnr was a lost cause at the moment. No she would just have go it alone or rather she would have to do it with one adorable page at her side. " I think we should probably leave the lid shut.. Hopefully the entity that set up the sign would know what to do with it.
"Yeah I don't know, I guess technically Theseus is an alien but he has a different perspective what with being a knight and dead. Yeah definitely., I suppose they're just like humans in that respect. Some you meet are wonderful and some are just the worst. Oh and I wouldn't worry about the mad king he died in a prison riot, its a long story." She assured.
"Come on lets get these back to that bubble and see if we can meet the strange alien."
