Quote:
Wanted Wisps (11) : Small, wispy orbs are floating through the city. They can be found during the day but are far more visible at night. They seem to bob along a few feet off the ground and sometimes flicker in and out of sight. They are warm to the touch and seem to be somewhat magical in nature. Anyone can gather them in their hands; they do not quite feel solid but cannot slip through fingers or escape any container. If you find one of these, you must return it to the merchant.

Geo had only heard about the Farnsworth building attack from some information within the database and whispers around in the Negaverse when he reluctantly went back to the castle to give the energy he had collected back to the General that was in charge of him, whose name he couldn't care less about.

Apparently that was what the rats that had been running about had been carrying information on. He had decided not to touch any of them as he didn't want anything to do with Youma, especially rat Youma. So he had obviously missed the entire thing. While he had missed the chance at meeting a Princess, it wouldn't have been a smart idea to go up to her during the fighting anyway. Also he would have probably let it slip that he was trying to get out of the entire situation and they would have killed him right then and there.

All to say, he was glad to miss it. However he had been forced back into collecting more energy as he hadn't given enough to the General's liking and had gotten quite the tongue lashing. It pissed him off. But what could he do? He had to keep quiet and make sure that he saved his own skin until the time came when he felt like he could get out of there.

So, that was the reason he was out here at night and with his hood up, he hadn't noticed the wispy orbs until he had taken a moment and let it down. That was when he noticed them and when he reached out to touch one it appeared to be warm. Was this some type of energy?

That was when he felt a familiar aura, and unless something had changed since the last time they had met, he had no reason to feel any fear or danger as they approached.

Something about the recent attack hadn't felt quite right to Pendour, and she was wary, still waiting for the other shoe to drop. She'd been powering up more regularly, since, and wandering around the edges of populated areas, hoping that her aura alone would be enough to keep some of the Chaos away, like the security lights they put on the outside of warehouses.

It was why she found herself lingering on the outskirts of the Star Festival. It was packed with people, and when she wandered through the festivities powered down, she found herself thinking and thinking about how much of a target it could be.

She'd come back afterwards, wearing the mermaid gown.

Although, as always, her presence didn't discourage everyone. She felt the Chaos aura about half an hour in, and she went to investigate, only to find a familiar face.

He was still wearing black, which made her heart sink, but she walked closer anyway. "Oh, hello," she said, good eye flicking to the wisp he was looking at, just for a second. "Is it, um, going okay?"

He turned to look at the familiar face, the wisp hovering lightly above his hand. He nodded to her. "Pendour." He said, his voice sounding tired and unhappy. He looked at the wisp when she asked about it and shrugged. "I don't know. I didn't squish it or anything, it was just floating around and I touched it a little." He held out his hand offering it to the Squire. "You want to look at it? I'm sure it's fine." He said, smiling a little softly.

He sighed. "If you're hear to ask about my progress, I've only recently begun making some. I met another Senshi who was willing to look into things for me a bit. Puck or some other name. I... can't say there's been much more to it than that, but it's closer to where I was than a few months ago." He really hadn't gotten any good sleep and it was starting to show in his eyes a bit.

As Pendour got closer, she reached out, her hands cupped gently and her eyes wide with wonder. "Oh, look at this precious little thing," she whispered, mostly to herself. "Hello."

Maybe it wasn't the kind of thing that could understand her, but that had never stopped her before.

A second little wisp floated out from behind the first, and Pendour tilted her head. "Do you know what they are?" she asked.

Still, strange magical wisps, interesting as they were, did not distract her too much from the fact that Geocronite was still here, and still not looking so happy with his situation.

"Are you just looking for a Royal, or is it something else?"

He watched as she took the wisp away and he could see that another one had decided to float near them. He couldn't help but sigh at her question. "A Royal or anyone else who could get me out of this mess. I also need to find the time to do it and get my... affairs in order I guess." From what had happened to Cybele, he was sure that he would lose some memories as well, even if he was going to the "good" side. It meant that he would have to move out of the cabin that he was in at the very least. He would no longer be able to live there while the Negaverse possibly knew of its existence. He would miss that place. Even if it was a ways away, it helped him to feel closer to nature.

"I just don't feel like I'm there yet. I don't know why, but something isn't feeling..." He thought about it for a moment. "Like it's the right time. I don't want to force this or anything, but I am getting tired of it." He replied, looking at her. "How about you? How have you been fairing?"

Pendour nodded.

It tugged are her heart to see him all conflicted and unhappy with where he was. She would have written Camelot right then and there if he’d asked, but she knew that it was a big sacrifice to leave your entire life behind. If he wasn’t comfortable with that, not yet, she wouldn’t push it.

She’d just be there with open arms whenever he was ready.

One of the wisps separated from the other and hovered above Pendour’s palms. She smiled softly.

“I’m okay, I think,” she said. “Well, as okay as someone can be in a war. There’s hard days, but I think this is one of the good days.”

She nodded to the lights of the booths in the distance. “I like the festival.”

This whole was was ridiculous. And the fact that he just couldn't desert it even more so. But when he knew someone like Pendour was having trouble, he knew he needed to stay. He knew that switching over was the right thing to do but he had hoped that there would have been a way to get out of this entirely. At least then he could have just been ignorant of it all.

"Hopefully I'll be able to help you soon. I don't know when that will be, but I'm not going to let the Negaverse off just because they used to be my... fellow agents." He couldn't really say friends. He had met some friendlier ones within the Negaverse, but to say that any of them, except perhaps one, had made any good impact on him would have been a lie.

He smiled at the wisps. "These wispy things kind of make you forget about it right? Maybe we just need to be distracted once in a while." But now that he had grabbed the other, it didn't seem to want to get away from him as he moved his arm about, it appeared to follow. Was it magnetized in some way? "I don't think we get magnetic powers when we join..." He mumbled to himself, wondering if he had missed something about being in the Negaverse when it came to attracting other objects.

He turned back to Pendour. "I'd invite you to my cabin to check out the nature around it sometime, but I don't think that would be doable while we're on opposite sides. But maybe one day. I can't say I like living in the city that much, so the cabin is perfect for me, though I know that's not the same for everyone."

Pendour nodded slowly as she listened to what Geo had to say, but her gaze only flicked to him for a moment or so before she turned back to stare at the wisp in her hand. Its gentle bobbing and the way it moved a little with the breeze was almost as satisfying to watch as those videos on YouTube were, the ones where they mixed paint or played with slime or things like that.

Watching it made it a little easier to think about the hard things, like the challenges of coming over from the other side.

"Your cabin sounds lovely," she said. "I'd love to see it someday."

She did like nature and the woods, even if her passion for plants tended to lead her to the more exotic things that she could nurture and cultivate herself, or the little potted things that she could have around at all times. A cabin sounded nice, though. It was probably a nicer place to reflect than some apartment. Even if it was just full of mosquitos or something, she would still go there, just to show Geocronite that he had friends ready to accept him.

"Today's not that day, I don't think, but I could offer you another distraction, if you wanted," she said.

The wisp still floated inches away from her palm, but with the other hand, she summoned her ocarina. She nodded towards it. "The music, it, um, soothes worries, I've heard."

He nodded. "Of course. But I hope you do come someday. It's nice to be away from the city and you don't realize how noisy it is until you get somewhere where you can only hear the wildlife and wind." He was already missing his cabin once again. He liked to be alone most of the time. He didn't have to deal with other people then and he could work on himself if need be.

He made a sad face for a moment. He wondered if he would be able to keep it once he switched over. He hadn't heard much about it, but with how many memories people lost, and what Cybele had told him through her own experience, he might have to create a whole new civilian identity. And he might not be able to go back to his lovely cabin.

He sighed before looking at her holding the ocarina. "That sounds interesting. When I do switch I would appreciate if I could learn some magic stuff from you if possible. I mean, I know it would be different, but just getting the hang of it you know?" When he actually thought about it, gaining some magic sort of excited him. After all, he didn't even know what type of Knight he would be and he wasn't sure what all they had for Knights, but he hoped that it had something to do with nature. Then he would have more of an excuse to be out and about in it.

Wildlife and wind sounded lovely, far lovelier than the sirens and car alarms that seemed to be a constant presence even in the nicer parts of the city. It was part and parcel of living in a war zone, maybe, but that didn't mean it wouldn't be nice to get away from it, sometimes.

"I look forward to it," she said, her smile soft as soft.

"Maybe your magic won't be so different at all," she said, tilting her head a little. "What if you end up Neptune? I think you'd look all dashing in a blue suit."

Maybe Pendour was a little biased. She'd be happy to see just about anyone decked in blue and shells and trident symbols. Although, she wouldn't be unhappy if he ended up in any color but black. All the planets had their own appeal.

"Don't worry," she said. "I'll still do my best to help even if you end up with Mars and fire. Getting the hang of it, at least. The details might be a little more lost on me in that case."

He couldn't help but laugh at what type of Knight he could turn into. Not that he was against turning into a Neptune Knight but just... the thought and possibility seemed so far away.

And the fact that he could turn into... any of them excited him a bit. It was scary, a possible outcome that may never come for him but... he could be any of them. And which one he would be, only purification could tell.

He blushed after he was done laughing. "Sorry, I didn't mean to laugh at your suggestion. I just thought that... well I could be any kind of Knight. And that's exciting! I wasn't even thinking of it that hard before, but now that you mentioned it, it's something else to look forward to for Purification." And he could do more.

What else would he be able to do as a Knight? Certainly he would have more freedom and wouldn't be under the control of some all-powerful being.

There were things he could do as a Knight that he could never do as an Agent! He was now very excited but decided to keep his reaction subdued or else he was going to come off looking like a crazy person.

"Mars and fire? Sounds interesting. And thank you, I appreciate it even if I don't end up being the same type of Knight as you. Again, the invitation to the cabin is open, so if you ever want to, feel free to hit me up about staying there if you want."

She tilted her head and smiled as he laughed. "Okay, maybe not Neptune," she said, not seeming offended at all. While she'd be pleased to have him, she wasn't sure how happy he'd be to in formal wear, drenched in pearls, while sitting in his cabin in the woods or wherever he ended up. "Maybe not Cosmos, either, with all the sparkles," she said. Somehow, their clothes always ended up even more extravagant than what she was wearing, and it was hard to imagine Geocronite shifting so dramatically from hiding in the shadows to sparkling with the light of the stars.

"But you never know." Her tone was just a little teasing.

"I could see you as Saturn, too, or Jupiter. Maybe Pluto?" She squinted at him, trying to see if there was some hint in the clothes that Chaos had given, and then at his face. He reminded her a little of a Jupiter knight she knew, one who was standoffish until you got through to him, but she didn't know enough knights to tell if that was something Jupiter looked for in someone, or if it was just the individual.

Thinking about it, she realized she didn't know much about Mercury or Venus knights at all.

"I don't think there's a way to tell before it happens," she said, gaze moving back to the easy distraction of the wisp.

"Sparkles! No way!" He said with a laugh. He just couldn't imagine himself in sparkles at all. Not that there was anything inherently wrong with it, but even without being fashion savvy he knew he would look terrible in them. It took him a bit to stop his laughter but he still chuckled when it crossed his mind.

"They sound interesting, even if I don't know what their themes were. But I'm guessing Neptune is music and sea-creature based?" He hadn't met any other Neptune Knights, so Pendour was the only one that he could go off of. "Sounds like each of them have a theme. I would like to learn more about them, no matter what type of Knight I turn into. That sounds fascinating compared to Agents. I think our only "theme" is our outfit and then what rank we are." Pretty boring in his opinion. Sure, there were some flashier Generals that he had met and seen, but that didn't mean he wanted to get to know them because of it.

He looked at the wisp he had "caught" and decided to put it into a sub-space pocket. It didn't appear to have any brain of sorts. "That's fine. I think it will be a nice surprise. At least compared to be corrupted into a Lieutenant."

"I've only met a Knight or two from most of them," said Pendour with a small shrug. Most of her friends had ended up being senshi, which was fine until she ended up in a situation like this, where she had to press her mind for any details about what each planet's Knight magic might be like. "Not enough to really see if there's a theme going. Neptune's is music and the ocean, though. We're one of the easier ones to pick out of a crowd." She gave a soft smile. "It's the blue."

A lot of the other ones seemed to have subtler colors, more suitable for blending in, maybe, when they weren't underwater.

Pendour sent her wisp off to subspace, too, and then gave the Agent a glance, now that that was all figured out.

"Are we still being careful not to be caught talking?" she asked. Her voice was always quiet, but now she lowered it to nearly a whisper. "It's been a few minutes, now."

"You guys will be well equipped if we're ever sent to some watery reality then." Like they had been with that foggy monster. Perhaps an Earth Knight would have done better there, but he would be amused if they had to rely on Neptune Knights if they needed to go somewhere with water.

As she lowered her voice he did a quick check of the area. He couldn't feel any auras, so unless they were being dampened by a Mauvian on either side, they should be safe. But the conversation was starting to get a bit too long. He nodded to her. "Yes, and I can't sense anyone, but I think we may have been here too long." He sighed. He wished he could spend more time with Knights and Senshi, maybe then he would actually get somewhere towards his purification.

"I think it's time for us to go now that we've packed these wispy things away. But I'd like to meet again, outside of being powered." He said, quickly taking a piece of paper out of his pocket and handing it to her. "That's my phone number if you ever want to take me up on the cabin offer. Or anything else. If we talk when we're civilians we can do so for longer." And he was willing to chase anyone off of his property who may have trespassed.
