Summer Festivals Solo or RP Format

Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7Summer was drawing closer and closer and the different villages around Tendaji were beginning to plan their summer festivals. It was a tradition in Tendaji - to celebrate the Gods every year in the summer when spirits were high and food was at its most abundant. All the races had their own gods to celebrate, whatever those might have been, and every person had their own feelings one way or the other. [ What did they mean to you? With the summer fast approaching, it must be somewhere (no matter how small) on everyone’s thoughts. And what are your thoughts on the other culture’s gods? ]

A dark-skinned lanky prentice towered over the crowd, standing out even at his youthful age. Maybe it was the height, or the fact that they seemed so dominating compared to many of the locals who frequented the area, but they were given a wide berth either way as they stood out in the fading light. Svadra ignored the looks of those unfamiliar with his presence, used to it after so many years. Even with the ever opening borders of the Oban nations, an Alkidike hybrid was something treated with either fascination or fear.
Maybe that's why he hid behind makeup and drapery, to create a more delicate appearance that would leave others comfortable. But let's be honest here, he did it more because he was comfortable. Growing up around two other sisters and two strong mothers made it so he had no issues dressing the way he saw fit.
After all, he knew his way around self defense enough to use his Alkidike size to take any danger down.

Taliessin was excited to be back in Oba visiting her Aunt Aesera. Her cousins were off traveling, and the older woman seemed happy to have a young soul spending time in the Red. Sure, there were the dancers, but it was different when it was family. Even though Tali wasn't quite family, she had grown so close to the woman, her solider husband, and the large brood of children who helped raise her.
Even so, one of her favorite things to do in Oba was explore the sights. It just so happened that a festival was happening in honor of a few gods. It was an annual festival of prosperity, and so people were dancing around dressed in colors that represented On'os, Lenoxe, Jonal, and Atun. It was a flash of colors and glam, with powders and warpaint filling the space. The young girl stood out like a store thumb with her dark skin and lavender hair, but she didn't care. She was here to have some fun.

Svadra looked bored as he walked along, holding a feathered fan to help cool off his neck in the evening heat. The colors were enthralling, and he found himself stopping more than once to evaluate the costumes and dances of some of the entertainers and patrons alike. He knew Oba had quite the entertainment district, but it seemed to have spread out thanks to the festival itself.
In regard to the gods celebrated, he didn't really find himself all that interested. The Oban gods were like historical figures compared to the Aishan goddesses. They were tangible, living beings that bloomed and protected the world. It was hard to compare to, if one had witnessed or participated in the magic that was Aisha.
So while the sights and sounds were lovely, the tall boy felt detached more than anything to the intent behind it. And so he wandered.

Tali moved around like a dancer, something she did since she was young. The sounds, the music, the colors, they all enthralled her and left her with a spirit she couldn't let go of. She was out of breath as she made it through the crowd and to the outskirts, her cheeks covered with glittering paint and somehow she had a mask in her hand. She didn't know what god it represented, but she appreciated it all the same as she pushed it up on top of her head.

The pretty shifter girl caught his eye as she moved through the crowd, partially because she was heading directly to where he himself lingered on the outskirts. Pushing his thick dreads to the side, he batted with the fan to cool off the other side of his neck as he watched, curious.
She was young, maybe around his eyes, and very tiny, but moved around with ease as if she were a dancer. He knew of the dancer's hall having hybrids, so maybe she was one looking to entertain others and promote the programs.
But as she moved out and took a break, he had a feeling she was a visitor swept up in the festivities just the same as he. Humming thoughtfully to himself, he snapped the fan shut and moved closer, approaching slowly as to not spook her.
"Enjoying the festival?" he asked in a breezy voice once he got close enough.

Oh boy, was she always this thirsty? It was hotter in Oba than Matori, but at night it was cool enough that she didn't notice when she became parched. Taking a deep breath, she stood on her toes to seek out some sort of vendor with a soft voice spoke up over the noise.
Spinning on her toes, she settled to her heels as she looked up at the teenager before her. Lanky, tall, and a hybrid. What was interesting was that he was a bit rare, like she, in that he was an alk hybrid. It was hard for Taliessin to tell if he was male or female, mostly because of how casual he dressed, but after a long second she just shrugged and moved a step closer.
"Of course, it's amazing!" She gushed brightly with a grin.

She was even more adorable up close, like a little doll compared to his height. He could tell she was around his age, still young and finding her place in this world. He was a bit surprised she was alone in the festival, but didn't really think much of it after she responded.
"Yes, it is...something..." The atmosphere was nice, but he really didn't find much inspiration in the intent of the festival.

"I'm Taliessin." She responded with a chirp, not really noticing his distance to the festival but instead looking at his eye rings, darker lips, and the beautiful outfit he was drapped in. His voice made him seem like a male, but she wasn't completely sure and so she finally decided to stop guessing. If he wanted to share, he'd share. But she wasn't expecting any information like that.

"You may call me Svadra." He replied simply, deciding to flip out his fan once more and gently beat it to cool himself off. Really, why was he outside anyway?
Oh yes, because his mothers insisted he go off and 'have fun' and somehow he lost track of his siblings.
Well, this adorable girl was entertainment enough, and at least he can go back and say he had a friend.
"Are you a dancer?" He finally asked to continue the conversation.

Svadra, what an interesting name. Wasn't the most unique one she had heard, but it suited them. When he whipped out his fan, she let out a little giggle and smiled, already guessing the gesture was so them.
"Oh...no. But I grew up in a dancing hall in Matori...so it came with the territory. I'm actually training to become a minstrel. Music and all that stuff is just more up my alley."
Pausing again, she narrowed her eyes a moment, "Hmm...maybe a fashion designer?" She asked, returning the favor.

It was a good guess, but not exactly what he was seeking to do with his life.
"I appreciate the arts, be it music, painting, or even fashion. But alas, while I may have a sense for colors and patterns, I'm not one to create it. Simply appreciate it." He smiled slowly at that, before gesturing out to the festival, "This is merely another moment to gain inspiration on my next wardrobe. Festivals are chaotic, but somehow they have a beauty in them."
His true job was something more chaotic, he wanted to become a warrior on behalf of Aisha. But for now, he simply enjoyed the benefits that he was born into.

She narrowed her eyes at his response before looking out at the chaos. It was hard to see, but she did see a little bit of inspiration. But if it was like a dance, she was missing the beat. And the noise, while a fun energy, wasn't something she'd write a song about. Shrugging at that, she just laughed to let out the energy of the moment before turning back to her new friend.
"Beauty, huh? I'd love to see what kind of outfits you put together based on this inspiration..." She fiddled with the mask, tapping it a little bit as she felt the desire to go back out into the chaos and be swept away.

He sensed she wasn't really following along, but that wasn't abnormal for the casual hybrid. He was often misunderstood, and most people just let him be dreamy in his ways. Smiling down at her as she looked out, he had a feeling his new friend was about to disappear into the night.
"Just be careful you don't get swept too far away, Taliessin." he replied with a nod, "I'd hate to not see you again."

"I'm sure you'll see me again. One way or another I expect our paths to cross again. It was nice meeting you, Svadra. Have fun."
And with that, she pulled down her mask and moved into the crowd, disappearing in the colors, the dancers, and the night. She wanted to enjoy this while she could, because she'd be heading back to Matori before she knew it. But she'd remember her new friend, and hope to see him again in the future.
