Summer Festivals
Solo or RP Format Counts as 5 RP growth Points Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7
Summer was drawing closer and closer and the different villages around Tendaji were beginning to plan their summer festivals. It was a tradition in Tendaji - to celebrate the Gods every year in the summer when spirits were high and food was at its most abundant.
All the races had their own gods to celebrate, whatever those might have been, and every person had their own feelings one way or the other.
[ What did they mean to you? With the summer fast approaching, it must be somewhere (no matter how small) on everyone’s thoughts. And what are your thoughts on the other culture’s gods? ]

Ujiri 1
He tossed one of his blades up so that it flipped once in the air then caught it as it came back down, a habit he'd developed when he was bored. His eyes looked around as if he was trying to find something, or someone, while also trying to appear uninterested. "Are you sure she said she'd be here Ika?" His twin had mentioned that their older sister had invited them to the festival for a bit of time together. Since Ujiri was still mad at Subira and wouldn't talk to her anything she had to say to him had to essentially go through their mother, Ariya, or his twin, Ika.
"She's probably not even gonna show up." He fully expected their sister to stand them up if he was being honest. He usually expected the worst when it came to Subira, Ujana, and sometimes even Eurig. Of course that was just him being a brat when it came to family since he was going through a phase of sorts where he was angry at everyone for no reason other than they existed.

Subira 1 Dealing with her family had been a bit tricky upon her arrival home. Things were a bit.. awkward. A lot had happened while she'd been away and she was still in the process of catching up. Of course it also meant that her youngest brother was pissed off at her. Subira wasn't so sure about her sister. She was still trying to feel Ika's mood out. So she'd invited the twins to join her, via Ika, in the hopes that they could patch things up. She figured if she had something to give them when they arrived, like a peace offering, then things might go over a bit better. So she was currently getting the three of them something to snack on for now. Of course she had to go off what they used to like as kids since she'd been away for a long time.

"If I said she's coming then she's coming." In all honesty Ika hated being the messenger. She had her own training to worry about, and while she personally wasn't upset with Subira she wasn't exactly happy with her either. Ika had looked up to her big sister a lot before she left and it still burned. At least, to Ika, when Ujana left there were signs before hand. She was always so antsy, prone to following the biggest wave and always wanted to take on the biggest of challenges. Subira? One day she was here and the next; gone. If anything she was more annoyed with Ujiri. Ever since he'd started acting like a brat she'd taken to spending less time at home and more with her alkidike tutor. She had her own blades at her sides, and seeing the way he just casually tossed his around caused her to grimace. "Would you stop? You're going to hit someone."

Ujiri 2
When his twin told him to stop tossing his blade he sighed and caught it one last time as it came down. With it in hand he stored it away to resist the temptation to continue. "Better?" Ika was the only sibling he was really on speaking terms with so he didn't want to make her too upset with him.
A glance was spared toward his twin before he looked around the crowd again. Of course he then spotted their older sister heading their way. His body tensed up a bit but apart from that he gave nothing away as he watched her get closer.

Subira 2 After getting three kabobs with grilled vegetables she made her way toward the spot she'd mentioned for meeting up. The closer she got the more nervous she felt. Of course when she spotted her younger siblings she couldn't help but smile. Ujiri had been looking right at her and she offered him an awkward wave. Of course she saw the roll of his eyes that followed. Once close enough she stopped held out the food she'd gotten. "I wasn't sure what to get but thought these would be alright." After all, what if one of them had decided to go vegetarian while she was gone? A few of the sisters had done that during her travels. Of course some of that had been out of necessity when hunting parties came back with less and less meat. "Thank you both for coming. I wanted to spend some time with you both without our moms hovering." Subira was hoping that without Ariya or Ujana around then her younger siblings would talk to her more openly.

"Yes, thank you." She only said it with a mild amount of sarcasm, and eventually broke through that with a little smile. After a moment Ika non-chalantly bumped her shoulder into his. "Let's have a match later. I want to see if all your good at is juggling or if you can actually wield those blades."Of course whatever spark of playfulness that her twin had brought out in her had been pushed back by Subira's presence. Had she always been so short? Or had Ika just grown? While not quite as tall as a full blooded alk the hybrid could easily hold herself within their ranks which was...quite the sight with her very earthling traits. "Thanks." Ika took the offered food and took a bite, not-so-casually looking at her brother through a side eye. After swallowing, she turned back to Subira. "You know that since they aren't here we won't hold back, right?"

Ujiri 3
A smirk formed on his face as his twin mentioned a match between the two. "You will beat me and we both know it." When it came to close combat Ujiri wasn't much. He could hold his own, sure, but he was no powerhouse of strength or skill. And her blades were bigger than his. "And what's wrong with juggling? I could be the best entertainer around."
When he noticed Subira, however, he went back to being grumpy and did roll his eyes. At being handed the food he took it but said nothing. Ika was the one who said the thanks and then warned their older sister that they wouldn't hold back. With no parent to filter them there was no reason to. "Still not sure why you want to spend time with us now. Its not like anyone else really stayed around either. As far as I'm concerned Momma Ariya and Ika are my only family." Ujiri was still salty with the rest of them for leaving.

Subira 3 She blinked at what her little sister said. "I.. don't want you to hold back?" Subira had to wonder what exactly her younger siblings were holding in. It likely wasn't anything good but if she didn't know how they felt then she couldn't fix anything. What came out of Ujiri's mouth only made her sigh slightly. "Ujiri. That's not true. Ujana, Eurig, and I are still your family." The alk fiddled with her own food for a second. "I am sorry for leaving you all. I should have thought things through more." Being young and stupid did have a lot of draw backs. Subira had learned a lot while she was gone but she'd missed out on a lot too. She looked at Ika then with a soft smile. "You've gotten tall. I remember you being so small when I left. What paths did you both choose to follow?" She was curious if either of them had decided to stick with their Alkidike heritage or go with something earthling.

"Good." Ika took a sharp bite of her kabob and gave her sister a level stare. She vaguely saw others passing them in the background, some pausing long enough to look their way if they were close enough to hear Ujiri, but when they caught Ika's eye they kept moving. "You should have, but you didn't, which means we apparently aren't as close as you say we are." She took a half step closer to Ujiri; physically putting up a barricade between her twin and their older sibling. Still, that didn't spare her from giving Ujiri a hard side eye as well. "At least Momma Ujana told us bye-" Turning back to Subira, Ika raised her brow, "-so, why didn't you? Why just the letter? Eurig wasn't much better, but at least he told our mothers, if not us." The question about their paths made Ika snort. "Does it matter? You didn't even stick around long enough for me to learn what path you took."

Ujiri 4
He ignored Subira's words about them all still being family. He didn't see it that way. Family shouldn't just up and leave. When Ika gave him the look he sighed. "A mother shouldn't leave her kids just because she's bored." He mumbled more for just him and his twin to hear. In truth Ujiri hadn't really understood his mother's reason for leaving. But that wasn't why they were here.
"Eurig should have told us too but at least we were used to him going to his dad's all the time." As bad as it was to say, their brother's absence was familiar. He would go to stay with his dad for a while then come home. Ujiri had been able to convince himself that Eurig was just at his dad's and would be back.
Being asked about what they chose to be only caused him to roll his eyes. "If you cared you could have at least wrote to us. You were good at leaving letters so why stop?"

Subira 4 She watched Ika step between her and Ujiri and furrowed her brows a bit. Did her little sister see her as a threat to him? Or was she trying to keep them separated? When her little brother didn't bother to correct the action or move from behind her Subira took it to mean he preferred it that way. So the alk took a small step backward, providing space for them both. "I deserved that." She was the oldest of all the siblings, but was a poor role model for any of them. The distaste toward Ujana was worrying and she'd make a mental note to ask her mothers about it later but for now she had to answer some questions. "I left the letter because I was in a hurry. It was stupid of me. I was excited at the idea of being able to go with our sisters and do something important." A poor excuse but that was her thought process then. "I didn't stop to think that my family was also just as important and that was my mistake. I'd like to fix that mistake now if possible." When Ika snorted about the paths she tilted her head. "Of course it matters. Its important to the two of you so I would like to know what you choose." And then it was pointed out that she hadn't told them what she'd picked. Her antennae drooped slightly as her cheeks gained a bit of color. "I guess I did leave before I told anyone huh.." With her free hand she scratched awkwardly at the side of her neck, just above the decorative collar that sat there. "I decided to become a Sacred Heart. I favor the bow over blades. I'm decent with close combat but I like to avoid it if I can. Not a fan of being thrown into the ground." Subira gave a small grin there. It had been a nice training lesson with their mothers and Eurig that had given her the dislike of meeting the ground so intimately. It had actually been Ujana who had done it too.

"Guess he didn't see much of a reason to come back when everyone else was gone." In all honesty Ika just wasn't as close to Eurig as she had been Subira. His absence for half the year meant that she never really knew him, and every time they met up they were both a little older. She still cared for him, obviously, but more like extended family than an older brother. "At least you know it was stupid." That helped; a little. "You could have still gone, no one was stopping you. They might have tried to talk you out of it, but you know our mothers wouldn't have prevented you from going." If anything Ujana might have been the one to smooth things over with Ariya if given the chance, but she didn't vocalize that. Not infront of Ujiri, anyway... "You're kidding me." Ika felt like puking and visibly showed it. "If you're training to be a Sacred Heart then we'll have joint training. I'm using blades, though; it was the only path I could take that would also teach me how to use this-" And when Ika held up her hand a little spark of flame appeared in her open palm.

Ujiri 5
His eyes rolled. "In a hurry to get away from us just like the rest of them." He had more venom in his voice than intended but he couldn't help that it hurt.
He kept quiet as his twin seemed to be more keen on talking to their older sibling. He focused on eating the food he'd been given. It gave him something to do other than sneer and feel angry.
When he heard Ika say something about kidding he looked at her and noticed how she looked like she wanted to puke. Well that was new. He arched a brow at her to see if she was alright but still said nothing. At her display of magic he looked at her hand then over at Subira to see what her reaction would be. If it wasn't good then he had plenty of throwing knives he could use.

Subira 5 So she could hear the venom dripping in Ujiri's tone. It was going to take a lot more than simple apologies with him. Ika was at least more willing to talk. Subira did cringe a bit when it was mentioned that Eurig likely didn't stay because no one else did. "I'm truly sorry that you two didn't have either me or Eurig." The alk definitely hadn't thought her decision through at all. "I wasn't worried about being talked out of it. I was worried I would miss something if I took my time to tell anyone. I didn't realize I would be missing stuff at home if I went." Subira didn't want them to think that she had been worried about being talked out of something. Being truthful with them was best, even if it made her look like an idiot in the end. She watched Ika and looked concerned. Clearly she wasn't liking the idea that she'd have training with her older sister. Subira felt her antennae droop a bit. "You don't have to worry, Ika, I won't interfere with your training." Her eyes took in the fire that was produced and she smiled. "That's impressive. Though, you know you could have chosen an earthling path too right? They have more magical paths to follow." Subira just wanted to be sure her sibling knew that she had had options.
