Every ninja starts out with this set of books way before their story begins. This set of books teaches individuals detailed information about the world around them, and the other is a little black book with even more critical information and people you can keep an eye one. The set of books as a whole are called the Shinobi Handbook. While the first book is called The Start, where you are taught about the world and what your journey can consist of along with information on how things work deep down. The second book is called Moving Forward, and it contains information you should know while out in the world including the good and the bad side of being a ninja. And the third book is called The Ends Beginning, where you are taught about what happens at the end of a journey and what to expect.

As you peel the cover back and expose the fresh paper of the first book to sunlight the first time, you find a bright table of contents in clear bold words for all of the books:

:.:The Shinobi Handbook:.:

Underneath is a table of contents. Should you ever need to find information when you are lost or confused, just follow the table. If you need further help, don't hesitate to post a question in the question thread.

Chapter One
The Rules:

What keeps order within the guild? How do we know what keeps us in line? (General Guild Rules and Guidelines)

1. The guild information that we have was made by our own moderators and/or guild members. This constitutes a copyright, given that it is all in writing. Should you take information of any fashion within the guild without consulting the Guild Captain themselves, you will be reported to a moderator, who will therein ban your account. This is also in the Gaia ToS.

2. Do not argue with the moderators. They are here to make your time within the guild easier, without them, you wouldn't be able to operate within the guild on a day to day function.

3. All disputes will be held within your own private message inboxes. Violate this and the result will be a verbal warning, and a strike to your name. Continuing will result in further strikes. Eventually ending in a complete ban from the guild.

4. There will absolutely be no God-Moding allowed within the guild. First offense will result in a warning. If you reach a second, your opponent may auto-kill you and then the Crew will discuss your membership. ( Examples of God-Moding: [x] ~ [x] )

5. You must be at least Semi-Literate to roleplay within our villages. One liners and bad punctuation / grammar are not accepted. If you cannot do this, then copy and paste your posts from Microsoft Word for checks.

6. The Docks thread is for travel between villages. Very few instances avoid this stipulation. Therefore, until you understand these instances use the Docks.

7. There will be no Original Naruto Characters allowed within the guild. This guild is comprised completely of user-made characters.

8. Crew are chosen by the Mods to become part of the crew. Do not request to become part of our Staff. You will be turned down.

9. If you become a Missing Nin, you may not return to the village you left or their allies unless you intend to bring a few others to battle the entire village with you.

10. You are not allowed to gain access to the Afterlife without being killed by another member in the Guild.

11. No gaining Chakra points while part of an Exam period. You can not lose, or gain anything from an exam, unless stated other wise by the lead proctor.

12. Rank does dictate how a match will go forth. If a Kage is facing a Genin or Chuunin, then the Genin or Chuunin will most likely die a fairly quick death.

13. Chakra also holds a factor in battle. Having a significant difference in chakra CAN sway the battle in the favor of the higher number. Although this does not dictate every battle, due to skill always taking a factor in battle as well.

14. Do not Advertise in this Guild unless you have requested permission from the Guild Captain.

15. During battle, you're limited to 3 Actions per post.

16. You are not allowed to kill any secondary character you may have just to get stronger in any way possible. That includes but is not limited to Orochi powers, armors, puppet making or gaining access to the Afterlife.

17. You CANNOT use chakra that you've gained from another character you own to strengthen another character. This means if your character dies, you cannot use its chakra or techniques to strengthen another.

18. You can not create made ups that mimic the power of seals, demons, orochi powers, weapons, armors, or items.

19. If you're in the middle of a fight and you disappear for over 48 hours without warning the current attack from the opponent becomes an auto-hit and/or the attacker can leave the battle.

20. Made up techniques must be accepted, added to your profile, and be in it's respective compendium before it can be used in battle. Made ups are not placed onto your profile, until you post for it to be in the Training Completion thread. [Note: If you don't see your made up in the compendium; send a message to the mod in charge of the made ups, and remind them to add it.]

21. Try to keep characters (If you own multiple as a player) from posting in the same village at the same time. Especially in a combat situation, against other players.

21. A When in combat with another player, resist the urge to 'tag-team' against them using multiple of your own characters at once. It doesn't conclude to a fair fight doing a direct 2(+) vs. 1.

21. B If there is a Storyline or event located in a singular village, that you would like to have multiple characters participate in, please consult the mod hosting the event.

22. We hold the right to alter these rules at any time. So please pay attention to the last updated time located in the title.

23. Reaver Darkside and Shikamettsura are not allowed to quit the guild, under any circumstances.

Chapter Two
Chakra In This Guild:
What's a Double Power Day? What does it mean to learn techniques faster? What happens when you get free techniques? (All Aspects of Chakra In The Guild)

It doesn't matter if the cost of the technique costs less, you are gifted a technique, or if you receive chakra points from something, the amounts are placed on the specific profile. It is possible to share words for other rpc that one owns but not with other roleplayers rpcs. Whoever was part of an event are the only ones that get whatever from that event. They can be shared between them but no other rpc one owns that didn't take part.

Learning Techniques Normally

There was a time, a long while ago, that we used lines to determine how many chakra points we gain by training for techniques. But now we are using words which is a lot more efficient given how lines are seen not only in different resolutions but also on different types of computers. However many words you type in a post where you are allowed to count words is how many chakra points you can spend and save. One of the easiest ways of counting ones words is by using Microsoft Word. However, there are places on the internet that count words. This is a good place to use: http://www.wordcounttool.com/ . In a simpler way, your words by skills. If you have enough of them you can use it to get a skill. The amount goes down like money so you have less to work with the more you spend. You can train for words where ever and whenever unless told not to. Exams and tournaments you don't count words. And counting of words can only be done in roleplay not somewhere like the Out of Character or Training Completion.

Learning Techniques On Power Days

There are rare times where the mods will announce that from this day up to this day, there will be a power day. Depending on the name it can double or even triple the amount of words you make. So if you make a 100 word post it is doubled to 200 or tripled to 300. However, to be honest, there are really only Double Power Days but it's not impossible to have a Triple Power Day. Just ruins the fun if you get the points tripled though. This can also been said differently. If you make 100 words of training and then try and get a skill. Rather than your words being doubled, the technique costs half. It's the same thing really. You can't double your words and half the technique though. That doesn't work. It's one or the other. There's a time frame so whatever days are within the days of the Power Days is what posts are eligible for the event.

Friday at 12am to Sunday at 11:59pm.
Usually using .EST, but we will not chastise for an occasional overshot due to differing time zones, so don't worry about it all that much.

Free Techniques

May it be from an event or an announcements, you can get a number of techniques without having to train for them. You can choose which techniques to get at whatever cost. You're only limited to the number of free techniques you can have and what techniques your rpc can learn. Each technique is gained and you get the chakra points for it just like you would if you trained to get it.

Free Chakra Points

Free chakra points are treated like gained chakra points. You can use them however you desire to and can even share them with your other rpc regardless of if they earned the right or not. Using them includes spending them to earn techniques from villages.

Raw Chakra

When you give chakra to an rpc without using it to obtain a technique, that is raw chakra. You're given that rpc plain chakra and not giving them a technique. This can be done however much one desires. Any method of gaining chakra can have the chakra used in this way.

Soul Chakra

Soul chakra is the very essence of an rpc's soul. The only normal way to access this chakra is by completely draining the character of it's chakra entirely. Soul Chakra is equal to half of the total chakra of the rpc, but is double the strength when used with a technique. Running out of soul chakra will not only kill the rpc, but completely erase the rpc's profile from the guild in the process. It is safer to never mess around with an rpc's soul chakra, since once it's gone, you cannot get the character back through any means.

Chapter Three
Statistics!:
What are the Stats? Do they have anything to do with Chakra? How to we use them or earn them? (All Aspects of Stats In The Guild)

Statistics are the very backbone of a Shinobi, the sheer numbers that represent their abilities and limitations. No matter who they may be, or where they were train, a Shinobi is always partial to the set of skills that they have to offer and the strengths that they can commit to.

Base Stats

Speed Speed is the general idea around both movement and physical mobility over all. It determines the travel speed that one could move across a battlefield, and the speed one may dodge out of the way of an attack. Speed is also used for hand signs, including how fast they can be formed during combat. Speed is also the primary stat for Attack Speed, both physical and Jutsu related.

Strength Strength consists of the body's physical output. It determines the force and capability of physical attacks with both bare hand and most melee weapons. Taijutsu and Kenjutsu are primarily known to use Strength as a driving force for their damage. Those with exceptional Strength, are capable of even greater feats both on and off the battlefield.

Defense Defense consists of the body's ability to disregard incoming damage without having to worry about armor. The higher the defense, the more protected a Shinobi is upon the battlefield.

Intelligence Intelligence consists of the overall knowledge that a Shinobi possesses towards both Technical Gadgets, Trap setups and even Firearms. Supporting these tools by raising their damage capabilities through tactical know-how. Intelligence is also used for greater occupational knowledge when it comes to the assorted jobs within the Shinobi societies.

Resolve Resolve consists of the will to protect one's mind. Allowing Shinobi to both better manipulate others when casting Genjutsu upon them, or to better protect themselves when being effected by Genjutsu. Resolve effectively counts as the Natural Defense for mental attacks.

Spirit Spirit is the primary serving force behind most if not all Ninjutsu. It consists of the ability to greater understand the manipulation of chakra, as well as fuel the effects of the damage Ninjutsu could cause. Those who focus on their Spirit, are quite often more knowledgeable in the arts of Ninjutsu without fully requiring training of their own.

Sub Stats

Perception Perception is the overall ability to perceive and understand what is happening around the battlefield. It both allows for a heightened distance of sight, as well as the better understanding of possible traps in the area. Perception is calculated by combining 50% of the Shinobi's Intelligence + 50% of the Shinobi's Resolve.

Reaction Reaction is the Shinobi's best chance when on and off the battlefield. It signifies the Alertness that the Shinobi has, as well as their ability to react, attack or defend when within combat. Reaction is calculated by combining 50% of the Shinobi's Perception + 50% of the Shinobi's Speed.

Mental Defense Mental Defense is the Shinobi's defense against Mental attacks, especially those of Genjutsu. They are the primary line of Defense against damage directed at the Shinobi's Mentality. Mental Defense is determined by; ½ Resolve + ½ Defense.

Health Health is the literal life of the Shinobi. The base Health ( HP ) of all Shinobi is 100. Whenever the Shinobi raises in Rank, they gain an additional 100 HP. Finally for every 20,000 Chakra that is in a Shinobi's Chakra Pool, they gain yet another additional 50 HP.

Mentality Mentality is your overall mental health Pool. Consisting of ¾ of the Shinobi's total Health. A Shinobi who's Mentality drops to 0, becomes unconscious.

Chakra Pool The Chakra Pool is the fuel that jutsu uses, it is accumulated through the Shinobi's willingness to better themselves with both Techniques and general training of their bodies and minds.

Gaining Stats

Through endless training, a Shinobi will continue to advance forward until they reach their true strength.

Stats are almost always gained through Role Play. Every 500 written words will equal out to a single stat point.
On occasion, Stats can also be distributed as rewards from events or other scenarios.

Chakra Pool, Skill Point Ranges and Caps

All Shinobi start with 30 Stats.

Chapter Four
Movin' on Up!:
How to move through the ranks and become the strongest of all ninja (Rank & Chakra Points)

Every Kage has to start somewhere, from the ground up! Every Jutsu you can learn in the world has a Chakra Point you must reach. In order to obtain that skill, one word must be written for each skill point

EXAMPLE:If a technique is 800 Chakra Points, you must post 800 words of training.

Once you have completed the correct amount of words needed for the technique, post the results and follow the rules in the Training Completion thread for it to be added to your profile.

Chakra Points are what determine your Chakra pool in the world, the more skills you've learned, the more Chakra you have at your disposal. When ever you use a technique in battle, that amount is subtracted from your total Chakra. More clever Shinobi could even enhance their attacks for additional chakra.

But be careful! Using too much Chakra could be dangerous! The smarter player may not have as much as you, but can use them more efficiently(or rarely if they are smart!)

Once you've hit a skill cap, you cannot learn any new techniques until you've gained the next rank.

Made Ups
Your Character gains a new Made up Slot every 15000 Chakra Points he/she obtains.

15,000 | +1 Made Up
30,000 | +1 Made Up
45,000 | +1 Made Up
60,000 | +1 Made Up
75,000 | +1 Made Up
90,000 | +1 Made Up
105,000 | +1 Made Up
120,000 | +1 Made Up
135,000 | +1 Made Up
150,000 | +1 Made Up
165,000 | +1 Made Up
180,000 | +1 Made Up
195,000 | +1 Made Up
210,000 | +1 Made Up
225,000 | +1 Made Up
240,000 | +1 Made Up
255,000 | +1 Made Up

And So on and so Forth.

Chakra Point Ranges and Caps: Currently ( 8-1-2023 ) there are no Exams required for ranking up, a Training Completion post is simply required to inform a mod of the advancement.
Academy Student
500-5000

Genin
5000-50,000

Chunnin
50,000-80,000

Jounin
80,000-Unlimited

Kage
Unlimited

Ranks: (Here are the ranks and positions you can acheive when you reach a certain mark)
Academy Student

  • None

Genin

  • Medical Student

Chunnin

  • Chuunin Exam Examiner
  • Academy Teacher
  • Ryouri Nins
  • Medical Nin

Jounin

  • Hunter Nin
  • Medical Specialist-
  • Anbu
  • Elite Tutor
  • Military Policeman
  • Jounin Exam Examiner

Kage

  • Kage ( Must be one of the strongest members in your village )
  • Hidden Village Council
  • Senate ( Part of Hidden Federation's Leaders )
  • Sannin ( Must be one of the top four strongest members in the guild )

Missing-Nin:
If you decide to go it alone for whatever reason, you could be a missing-nin. Missing-do not have to worry about skill caps and are even a requirement for some of the worlds seedier elements.
WARNING!:
Once you become a Missing-nin you are considered a traitor to your village and are KOS (kill on sight) if you are caught there. As such, you cannot become some of the other specialized ranks (but there may be techniques that could ensure your survival that rival what they have). You will also be a subject in the Bingo Book, making you fair game for any hunter-nin looking to enhance their reputation

Because you are not bound by traditional ranks, skill points determine an unofficial rank.

Challenging for Rank
For those of the Kage, Sannin and Senate ranks. Should they be challenged in battle from a lower level shinobi in any way. (Scheduled conflict. Random Conflict. ETC) The Kage/Sannin/Senate are at risk of losing their rank to the opponent.
As such, making Kages and Senates stay on their toes when fighting with members of the same village.
And Sannin being at risk against any opponent, seeing as they will be at risk to lose their title.
Of course this will only apply, if the lower ranked shinobi would like to gain the title in question.

Chapter Five
Elemental Superiority:

When creating your Profile you'll notice that among the many things you are required to list, there is an Element option. In the Anime mostly everyone sticks to one said Element. In our Guild the following diagram will express exactly how and when you may have more then one Element added to your character. In the meantime, while being a Genin; If you are a Fire type then you are not allowed to learn any other element aside from Fire.

The Rank Based Element System

Academy Student/Genin: 1 Element
Chuunin: 2 Elements
Jounin: 3 Elements (Once above 100k Chakra)
Kage: 4 Elements
Sannin: 5 Elements

The Five Elements

The five main elemental styles are: Fire, Wind, Lightning, Earth and Water.

Fire: Katon, or Fire Element, takes the form of fire and flame attacks. These can be fire balls or extended flame throwing.

Wind: Fuuton, or Wind Element, takes the form of wind based attacks. These can be huge gusts or sustained wind storms.

Lighting: Raiton, or Lightning Element takes the form of electrical and lightning based attacks.

Earth: Doton, or Earth Element, takes the form of earth and mud based attacks. These can be walls made from mud or the ninja maneuvering himself below ground to attack his opponent from below.

Water: Suiton, or Water Element, takes the form of water based attacks. These can be walls of water used as shields or water formed into large striking jets.

Elemental Strength/Weakness

Below is a chart to label both the Normal 5 elements, as well as some of the more used secondary elements (Ice, Light, Dark). The effects of fire also over-laps Ice in the circumstance of this chart. Fire beats Wind in most scenarios, due to overpowering the wind and making the fire larger in comparison.

User Image

Warning!: When it comes to playing on an elements weakness, use your head. If your jutsu shoots out a thin stream of water, you won't be able to put out a forest fire. You'd be able to slow it down from spreading at best. The same principle applies to all five elements. It would weaken it but not stop it.

Chapter Six
What's What?:
What makes techniques tai, ken, gen, etc. and how to identify a technique type from village techniques? What are other classifications of techniques? (Technique Types & Classifications)

Types

Things that are labeled as [not ninjutsu] are certainly not ninjutsu but aren't entirely sure about. Sometimes techniques that have no type abbreviated next to it are considered not to have a type. Techniques that are labeled [unknown] have yet to be decided on as having a type or hasn't been decided on what type it is. Techniques haven't all been classified but should be before too long.

arrow Taijutsu techniques involve moves that use internal chakra. When chakra doesn't exit the body it is referred to as a taijutsu technique. However, there are few techniques that are an exception. Techniques that involve walking on substances like water, blood, or even magma can be used. Techniques that coat limbs with chakra are also possible. It is debated whether taijutsu is restricted to internal chakra or chakra that isn't connected to the body before, during, and even after an attack. That can be easily described as a ranged attacked. Anything that reaches outside of close range is no longer considered taijutsu.---------> [t] or [T]

arrow Genjutsu are techniques that send chakra into the minds of others or even one self. Unlike a taijutsu or even a ninjutsu, genjutsu transfer chakra from within one persons body and into another's. There is no trail of chakra like ninjutsu--chakra being projected outward from the body but it remains inside and transferred inside. Genjutsu are typically easy to dispel though some have found ways to make them more effective. Ways of dispelling genjutsu include--but are not limited to--the use of a technique like genjutsu release, the infliction of physical pain on ones self, killing the caster, and sometimes interrupting the casters concentration. Just because a technique is an illusion doesn't necessarily make it a genjutsu. An example of that is a mirage like that of a desert. As well magic tricks can be considered illusions but not genjutsu as well. Illusion are less referred to as a type of technique and more so as an ability.---------> [g] or [G]

arrow Kenjutsu involves attacks having anything to do with weapons. Kenjustu is closely similar to Ninjutsu and Taijutsu, possibly a combination of both involving a sword of weapon than the users body. Chakra can be channeled into the weapon, out of the weapon, used to alter the weapons form, increase weapon strikes, etc. Rarely Kenjutsu techniques effect the weapon wielder unless a style. Despite Kenjutsu being similar to Ninjutsu, even those strictly Taijutsu are able to use Kenjutsu type attacks.---------> [k] or [K]

arrow Ninjutsu techniques involve using chakra externally. Any technique that involves altering chakra, sending it outward from the body and towards an opponent or even effecting things aside from the body are ninjutsu. But that's a basic, quick way of explaining it. In truth, that explanation isn't entirely accurate. Techniques requiring one to use chakra and create an element--an example is spewing fire or generating ice from thin air. Techniques that are ranged (not short range) and consist of chakra are considered ninjutsu. Techniques that effect things around or the environment are considered ninjutsu. Things like bulking up a summon or animal companion could be considered ninjutsu but is more so an ability. Thus it doesn't really have a type much like illusions. Typically a ninjutsu is identified by one using hand signs to better aid in executing the technique.---------> [n] or [N]

arrow Summoning involve using a scroll in order to transport one thing from one place to another or to make appear something. Summonings often requires someone to use a scroll or item to summon something to them. However, it isn't always needed to have a scroll or item to do so. Anything involving summoning a creature from another plain, an object, etc. to a place it never really was can be considered a summoning.---------> or

arrow Sealing & Alchemy can involve locking something away or releasing it from being locked. Similar to summoning, one can summon something that wasn't there to their given location. These techniques are also often known as Fuuinjutsu. They often use symbols or an object to seal or unleash whatever they need. But unlike summoning it can be used to bring about different things such as changes to an object or transferring properties into something. Sealing can involve locking away techniques or weapons, sealing ones soul into an object, unleashing another side of someone or something, etc. One can also unleash attacks which many label as Alchemy. Sealing is a label for Alchemy which is similar to ninjutsu but involves unleashing things like sealing.---------> [a] or [A]

Classifications

arrow Passive Abilities/Techniques are techniques or abilities that do not require the rpc to activate them for use. Formerly members were allowed to use this so that they did not require a move slot for a particular item or technique, however that has changed. Now it is more used to allow for quick usage of a technique, item, or ability. When referring to guild techniques, the same is said, however, they are continuously active and do not necessarily need to be activated. That is only true for techniques within the guild that specifically state this. Passive techniques cost chakra unless stated otherwise.

Chapter Seven
How The Heck Do You Fight?!:
What happens differently when you fight from when you just roleplay? (All Aspects of Fighting In The Guild)

Actions

The moves you make in battle are considered actions. In order to keep people from using a billion and one techniques at once, there is a limit. Everyone is limited to three actions per rpc. Meaning that if you submit a profile, that is considered one rpc. Even if they're twins like the Kon's, your partner like the Inuzuka dogs, or of your own creation, they are considered one rpc and have only three actions per post.

What all are considered actions? For now the only things that do not require an action officially are things from the Special Additions area--excluding summons--and basic weaponry. A regular katana does not require an action to use in anyway. unless it was made from Hidden Katana, the katana does not take an action. Kunai and shuriken are also considered the same way. As long as a technique from the main forum isn't being used with or in order for it to be used then it does not take up an action.

Actions that take up 1 (or more) actions in a post.
  • Masks from Hidden Mask
  • Weapons from Craftsman
  • Weapons from Katana
  • Techniques involving weapons or techniques utilizing weapons

Clone Rules

  • Clones that list themselves with a physical substance ( IE: Sand Clones, Water Clones, Blood Clones, etc ) can only be created one at a time, unless their description specifically states otherwise.
  • If multiple Clones are wanted to be created, it takes 1 Action per new clone made. This does not apply to Kage Bunshin clones.
  • Kage Bunshin clones can be created in multiples, due to their properties. None of their stats can drop below 0.
  • All Clones have 1 HP other than Kage Bunshin which have HP equal to their total stats +1.
  • Kage Bunshin total clones divide the user's total chakra between themselves and the user. Remaining chakra is returned when the clone is destroyed.
  • A Kage Bunshin can cast jutsu using one of the user's actions.

Technique Costs

The same cost required to learn a technique is subtracted for using a technique. Unless it has no cost, chakra is drained from using it. Often times items do not require one to spend chakra. Weapons do not require chakra to use unless they have an effect. Usually effects require chakra to use. Techniques that use external chakra cost chakra to use. Taijutsu techniques would not drain chakra, but they do tire the body out as if they had, therefore Taijutsu and Kenjutsu still remove Chakra from the Chakra Pool when used. If a technique is labeled 800 Chakra points then you are drained that amount. Unless you have a technique that decreases or eliminates chakra costs you have to pay for the techniques mentioned.

Most ninjutsu and some other forms of jutsu can also be increased in strength and power through the use of adding more chakra to a technique. This is most commonly done with techniques such as the Channel technique, where the rpc releases a blast of pure chakra from their weapon. This normally costs 1,500 chakra, but can be increased to anything equal to the rpc's entire chakra total if desired. Turning a normal beam of chakra into a devastating all encompassing explosion with just an over use of chakra.

Damage

Doesn't matter if you're guild God (not real!), you have to take a hit sometime. You can't go an entire battle, unless it's REALLY short, without taking at least a little damage. No one likes someone who can't take a blow from time to time. Most members consider taking damage from the opponent's attack itself as damage, not instead having an rpc become hurt off of a side thing. (Skidding out of the way and hurting your knee, etc.)

Auto-hitting & God-modding

Any form of cheating by automatic hits and controlling another player's character is considered God-modding. If you want to know more about it then you can always Google 'god-modding' or check it out on Wikipedia. But that's the gist of it. Here, an autohit is when you unleash an attack on someone and blatantly roleplay it out as if you hit someone or are controlling someone's character. You can roleplay out what you expect to happen but you can't post something like this:

John lashes out with swift strikes with his blade and easily cuts Yang in half because he wasn't paying attention and tying his shoe.

Or

John uses Inner Decapitation in order to pull Yang underground. With him underground he would have no way of getting out so John slashes Yang's throat. He then takes his body for his and sets off to the docks having won.

It's hard to say that the holder of the rpc John wasn't just being too hasty rather than cheating. But his whole process was wrong. He didn't give his opponent a chance to respond to his Inner Decapitation before he killed him and stole his body. For all he knew, the holder of the rpc Yang could have had a trick up his sleeve. That's not really that bad though some members find it bothersome. But it's nothing to be punished too harshly over and can easily be talked out between each other or each other and a mod. The only time where Auto-hitting is allowed--not God-modding--is after ones opponent doesn't respond for two or more days since the attackers last post. The attack is able to follow through after that time period and land on the target.

More to come if needed...

Chapter Eight
Missions, Movies, and Boss Battles:
What are Missions and Movies? What happens in them? Where do we find them? What do we get from them? (Everything to do with Missions and Movies)

Missions

Missions are simply as the word implies, missions given to shinobi for a specific purpose. Although rarely used in this format, the 'Quests and Missions' subforum is where these can be found. Normally missions are simply for an item quest, or a Summon quest. As such the reward for a mission will be that particular item or summon. Missions are normally hosted by one of the Mods.

When participating in missions or other such quests, your words do not count towards techniques you may wish to gain. Due to the expectant rewards at the end. Unless the mod hosting it in question says otherwise.

Most Missions are not done at the current time of the guild, resulting in the Missions and Movies subforum to go unused. This is currently being looked into and fixed by the Mod Staff.

Movies

A large part of the 'Quests and Missions' sub-forum is taken up for Guild Movies. Movies are side events outside of the natural Guild story line. These quests or events are occasionally aligned with the current story line, or other times may consist of something in an alternative future then where the current story line is taking place.

You can Role playing your character in the Movie, as well as in the normal realm side by side. This being the only time that a character can be in two places at once, within the guild, and have it be acceptable.

Rewards that are given out from movies can be anything from Chakra rewards to special items or armors, or even that of abilities that your character that has participated can obtain. The exact reward is always decided by the creator of the movie, and as such will normally be a surprise revealed at the end, depending on how well the movie had developed.

When participating in Movies, your words do not count towards techniques you may wish to gain. Due to the expectant rewards at the end. Unless the mod hosting it in question states otherwise.

Boss Battles
Your thoughts: [link]

There will be Boss Battles to gain special Items, Armors, Orochi Powers, and Ect. These Boss Battles will be handled by a mod and can be issued to a challenger.. or they might be random. Each Boss Battle will have a high difficulty.. However the prizes are great and the reward is greater. Start eyeing your favorite items and PMing Drago for a challenge. However, Each Person(Not Character) Is only allowed to Challenge once a Month. However, they are allowed to help another person in a boss battle or even win the boss Battle if the original challenger dies.

Chapter Nine
The Bingo Book:
How to tell the Good, from the Bad, and the down right FUGLY(Bingo Book/Current hunter-nin roster)

This chapter is special. It's pages are enchanted with a Jutsu that allows it to be constantly updated in case of new developments.

Shinobi are freelance soldiers at heart, but while most of us hold an allegiance to a particular land, others are loyal to none. They are Missing-nin, some are mass murderers, and some are part of crime syndicates.

The Bingo Book is a constantly updated reminder of the At Large in the world and those devoted freelance mercenaries (known as Hunter-nin) who spend their time hunting them down when a village or ANBU cannot dispatch them.

A reminder on Missing-nin:
Once you become a Missing-nin you are considered a traitor to your village and are KOS (kill on sight) if you are caught there. As such, you cannot become some of the other specialized ranks (but there may be techniques that could ensure your survival that rival what they have). You will also be a subject in the Bingo Book, making you fair game for any hunter-nin looking to enhance their reputation

Because you are not bound by traditional ranks, people look at your skill points and assume your rank based on that.

The Bingo Book is where a mod will post your rpc if you become a Missing-Nin. You become a Missing-Nin by putting a line through your ninja band and leaving your village for good. Once you become a Missing-Nin, Hunter-Nin have the opportunity to find you and kill you.

Also when you become a Missing-Nin, you cannot become a:

  • Chunnin Exam Examiner
  • Academy Teacher
  • Hunter Nin
  • Medical Specialist
  • Anbu
  • Elite Tutor
  • Military Policeman
  • Jounin Exam Examiner
  • Kage
  • Sannin

Chapter Ten
Taking Over and Destroying Villages!:
To Show Other Peoples Who's Boss.. (Guild Takeover)

So.. You want to take over villages? Well that's the complicated/hard part of the game. But its still rather easy if you have the right equipment and right members to Take Over a village.

There are a few simple things to follow when taking over or even simply destroying a village!

  • 1. One or more members who's chakra equals at least 150,000 in total. If in a Group, the more members that are closer to the minimum requirement, the better.

  • 2. There is a two real life day alert that needs to be placed in a easily noticeable area on your post when either attempting to take over or destroy the village. After two days, if no one has attempted to stop or prevent the takeover or destruction; another post can be made. This is repeated until the village is taken over or destroyed.

  • 3. After successfully taking over a Village, those that were a part of the group gain a .2x word multiplier while posting within the village that they have taken over.

  • 4. After either succeeding and defending from a takeover, or forcing those that had taken over your village out: The actual village members gain a .2x word multiplier for one week.

Destruction Information!

All villages have:
  • 500 Health
  • 50 Defense.

    Villages also gain:
  • +100 Health and +15 Defense; if there is an Active Kage.
  • +5 Defense per Jounin village member.
  • ~ Jounin with Anbu, Military Police, or Hunter Nin jobs: +15 Health for every actively defending Jounin.
  • +10 Health per Chuunin, Genin or Academy Student.

Village Repair
Repairing your village is easy!
After a village is destroyed:
Anyone who was not a part of the destruction can simply role play within the village.
Either through actually repairing the village or simply in general.

In order to repair the village someone must write 2x the Village's total Health in words, before any multipliers. Repairing a village can only be done by allies to the village in question.

Chapter Eleven
Friend? or Foe?:
How to know when you are safe when when you should run like hell!(Village Alliances)

This post will tell how the villages are aligned and trusted among other villages. Giving villages that are attacked or destroyed specific signifiers, while also revealing alliances between villages.

  • {UA} wahmbulance marks a Village under attack by a player character, group or organization. The Village thread will be marked with {UA}.
  • {D} emotion_skull marks a Village that has been destroyed after an attack. These villages require someone to repair them. The Village thread will be marked with a {D}

  • Any other emote placed on allied villages are considered an allied village. Those without any emote are considered neutral. A Kage or joint agreement of the members of a village may declare their allegiances through a Training Completion post, with in RP proof of the decision when necessary. The village thread will be marked with a letter, number or similar within { }.

Allies and Enemies

Allies Those who are part of an allied village may gain an increase of .1x word multiplier when posting within a village outside of their own village.

Enemies Those who are considered an enemy of a village may gain an increase of .2x word multiplier when posting within a village they are considered enemies with.

Posting in this manner is typically considered an invasion of the village, and can be reacted to as if the village is under attack regardless of the chakra of the enemy.

Chapter Five
As the World Turns:
How to know when it's time to strike or call it a night (Day and Night System)

What's the point of ambushing an opponent when no one is home? Here is list of villages who are either stuck in unrelenting light, or never ending darkness.

Day and Night

There has been quite a few questions asked about day and night. Due to some items and armors being only to be used at night times this how it will be from now on. This system makes most villages prone to the role players in the area, as to whether or not it is night or day. (Read them posts before you, people!)

Chapter Twelve
Life After Death:
How to continue your journey when the rug is pulled from under you. (Rebirth)

So, you died in a battle? Whether you took on an enemy a tad bit too strong or simply made a mistake defending that dear ally, this is everything you need to know about how to be reborn and get right back into the action!

    You Died.
  • You are then sent to the Afterlife.
  • You are required to wait two in real life days in the Afterlife. You can still train to your hearts content!
  • After two days: Whether your body still exists or not you are reborn into the living world once again!
    - - - - -
    Unless
    - - - - -
  • If you spent all your Soul Chakra: You are required to make a new character instead of returning to your old one.
    - - - - -
    Otherwise
    - - - - -
  • You return with everything you still possess ( that wasn't taken from you ) in a brand new body.

Obviously your loot is at risk when you die. So your all powerful masters of the Shinobi Universe ( Read: Gods ) have put in some nice safeties for you!

So when you die, your killer has a few options at their disposal:

  • They may choose whether to gain your Orochi Power ( If they dont have one already )
  • They can take your old body ( Science, ya'know? )
  • They can take one piece of loot from your body of their choice.

Now naturally there's one other condition with this whole looting thing; If you're the aggressor and you die: The one that killed you can choose two things. You probably should have been more prepared to challenge that village right?

Death Counters

One last thing about the whole Death nonsense..

When you die; your profile gains a fancy Death Counter just before your alignment.
Marked as:

[ # ] Alignment || ELEMENTS

This counter deducts 10,000 Soul Chakra from your total Soul Chakra every time you die. So if your death equals out to emptying your Soul Chakra. Look, I'm sorry, you're not getting a new body.. You're getting a new character this time!

You don't need to worry about this whole 'Permanent Death cause of no Soul Chakra' thing, until you're up there in strength though.. So ya know, grace period until 20,000 Chakra sound good? Yeah I think so too.

Chapter Thirteen
New Beginnings:

What happens to our elderly? Our old Ninja unfit for the shinobi world?! (Lineage)

Time is constantly moving within the guild's canon. It moves faster than real life, at an occasionally ludicrous pace. Semi-regular Time Skips advance the clock by years at a time. This promotes character growth, and gives more opportunities for a character to change in a realistic manner. But most characters are not immortal, and time will eventually claim them. What, then, should happen to these characters? Should they simply be retired, their skills and accomplishments being passed into the annals of time, to serve as a lesson in hubris? Or is there something more that they can give, beyond a memory? Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you...

xxxxxxxxxxxxThe Lineage System

At its heart, it's a simple set of rules and guidelines whereby a character who has 'aged out' of the guild's canon may elect their next in line. This can be their child- biological or otherwise!- or simply an apprentice or student. That is where this system splits into two different modes:

» Progeny Mode
» Apprentice Mode

--------------------------------------------------

Progeny Mode
This mode is used when the old character is making way for their child to follow in their footsteps. The child will have been brought up by them, though the exact amount that they learned will never be precisely known.
Progeny Mode is governed by a set of rules:

Rule 1::
The new character (the Progeny) will be of the same clan(s) as their parents, and have access to all that that entails. Where further differentiation is required (Branch versus House, for example) it will simply be the same as the parent's. As such, the child will have access to any and all clan techniques that their parent(s) had access to.

Rule 2::
The Progeny will be required to select a dominant clan when the parents are two separate clans. The recessive (Non-Dominant) clan's techniques will be learned at double cost but will only apply the standard values to the skill list.

Rule 3::
The new character starts from scratch, exactly like a new Academy Student, complete with a new profile. Beast Seals, Curse Marks, Orochi Powers, Tailed Beasts, etc are all capable of being passed on to the Progeny, but must be decided on a case-by-case basis. This will fall to the mods in charge of such matters.

Rule 4::
The Progeny must fight the correct NPC up to one year after the profile's creation, in order to prove themselves worthy for each of the Special Abilities (Beast Seals, Curse Marks, Orochi Powers, Tailed Beasts, etc) that they retained from their parents. Should a battle be lost against an NPC, the Progeny may only retain those Special Abilities that they had won a battle for, all other's are lost and are given to the public to earn.

Rule 5::
The new character will need to re-submit any of the original character's made-ups, if they wish to keep them.

Apprentice Mode
This mode is used when the old character has taken an active role in teaching their skills to another. This can be an apprentice, a student, or even a peer*. When they 'age out' of the guild, their student will inherit their training and come into their own as the first character's replacement.
*A peer can be a child picked up off the street, or any number of valid reasons in an RP standpoint. Speak with a mod if you have questions.
Apprentice Mode is governed by a set of rules:

Rule 1::
The new character (the Apprentice) can be of any clan, and will continue as such.

Rule 2::
The new character can begin with any techniques their teacher knew, that count toward their starting techniques. (Any techniques that add up to 800 for a ninja from the big three villages, or 2300 from anywhere else.)

Rule 3::
The new character cannot retain any Beast seals, Curse Marks, Orochis, Tailed Beasts or Winged Angels, but they will have access to the original character's Items

Rule 4::
The new character will not need to re-submit old made-ups. (Barring any official overhauls and whatnot.) They’ll still need to earn enough slots for them, though.

Rule 5::
The new character will retain all made up slots that the original had gained outside of the normal tree. (IE: Through rewards and giveaways) These are retained through the training they had received as an apprentice.

--------------------------------------------------

Whether a Progeny or an Apprentice, there are certain conditions that must be met in order to make use of either of these modes of the Lineage System.
- The Dominant Character must be at least 150,000 chakra (200,000 for Missing Ninja). While the Recessive character must be at least 100,000 chakra (150,000 for Missing Ninja) or an NPC character.
- Upon the creation of the Progeny/Apprentice, the old character is immediately moved to the Hall of Fame and may not be un-retired or remade. An NPC version of the character can be used purely for story development within the first year of the new profile's creation.
- Any Special Weapons or Abilities that are not passed on to the Progeny/Apprentice are instantly put back in the pool of available bonuses.
- Only one Progeny/Apprentice can be created per original character. They can have siblings, but only one can inherit the bonus from the Lineage System.
- A character is required to be roughly 35 or older when the Lineage System is used. A preferable age to be 'aged out' of the guild is at the age of 50 to 80, when a Shinobi should have reached the end of their Ninja career.*

*These ages are speculative, all characters may not age at equal times due to the inconsistencies of time skips. Mod consultation is required if there are questions with this system.

The Ageless / Short lived clans / Doujutsu Clans
In the World of the Shinobi consist of a lot of unusual clans, most of which either have special circumstances or simply lack in the overall ability to breed. All clans on the following list are clans:

The Below Clans CANNOT take part in the Progeny Mode, but is capable of the other mode in the Lineage System.

These are Conditional clans, either short lived or capable of entering the above list under certain conditions(Listed)

Hidden Sand
- Akasun (Can participate in either system, as long as the body was not turned into a puppet)
Hidden Moon
- Gekkou (Able to use the lineage system at 50k chakra less then other clans. Should they reach the age the clan dies off at, the chakra restriction is lifted.)
Hidden Rain
- Gami (Can participate in either system, as long as their body wasn't permanently made into paper.)

The Side Notes
The Lineage System can be used any number of times, but only once per character profile. Meaning you only get ONE Progeny/Apprentice per character profile. That profile can then 'age out' later on in their lives, to repeat the process though. A character profile can only ever have 2 clans, should a third generation character be created with a Progeny, the character will be required to choose which clans are the dominant and recessive out of 2 possible choices. Regardless of if the Progeny had 2 clans already, and mated with a third clan or not.
