 Ikaika 1 It had been a few years since he and Kaiko had started living together. He had never had so much fun. They had gone on many adventures. He was now as comfortable with his mate as he was with himself. He particularly liked when they cuddled at night watching the sunset. He didn't even miss home when he was with Kaiko because Kaiko was his home. He sat with Kaiko draped over his lap. He stroked a hand over his gorgeous hair. It was silky as usual. "Do you ever feel like maybe its time for something more?"

Kaiko 1 Kaiko slow blinked and turned to look at his mate. "Something...more?" He tilted his head. "You mean better than snuggles? I argue that it does not get better than snuggles." Kaiko was quite content where he was at the moment. His mate was always so warm and he was still very much in the honey moon phase of the relationship. It was easy when it was your best friend after all. Ikaika was the only one he could truly trust with this hidden part of his personality. Everyone else saw the serious young man.

Ikaika 2 Ikaika sighed then took a deep breath, "You know..er children. Do you want children?" He was sure he hadn't approached this right, but it had been on his mind for a while. Kaiko was his everything, but he wanted more, he wanted a family. "I love you, and for a long time, that has been enough but now i want something more. I really miss having a real family you know. At our age that means starting our own right?" He hoped that he hadn't just scared the crap out of his partner. Kids were an awfully big step but he felt like was ready. Especially because it was Kaiko who was his mate.

Kaiko 2 "Oh..OH! Well I um, I wouldn't mind you know, uh, having kids with you. I mean I fell ike it would be okay to have kids. We can handle it." They had handled everything else that had come their way. He glanced around before drifting closer and cupping his beloved's face in his hand. "You are also my everything and I think you will make a great Dad, and so will I, I won't do what my family did to me. Our kids will have freedom to choose, so long as they are safe."

Ikaika 3 Ikaika hadn't really moved but he felt like he needed to catch his breath. he could feel his eyes burning and he blinked rapidly. "I just can't wait. Kids snuggled up against us as we watch the reefs go about their colorful business." He reached out and dragged Kaiko closer so he could enfold him in his arms. He buried his face in the other's neck and wondered if Kaiko could feel his tears but he had made him just so happy. "Kaiko I just can't really explain how happy you have made me."

Kaiko 3 "About as happy as you made me when you didn't run screaming from my crazy family drama" His family had been stone age traditionalists. "So long as they don't attempt to steal our children that is." Kaiko bared his teeth a little, okay a lot. If there was one thing he was sure of, it would be that his parents would not get a piece of his new family. No matter if they needed an heir for their massive fortune and huge ambitions.

Ikaika 4 Ikaika stared at his mate, trying to fight a smile. Kaiko always knew just what to say. "Don't worry, your family won't be able to get to the kids. Even if I have to hire body guards." He would too if needed but he wanted to be properly scary too. "I would lay down my life for our kids. They would be a part of both of us, a greater whole. Perfection." He hugged Kaiko again.

Kaiko 4 "Oh I believe you my love, for what its worth I'm pretty sure they would give up on my familial line not because they wouldn't want to steal our kids but because you are a menehune and thus our kids would also be half menehune. I am saved again by your good looks." His parents were hella snobs. That being said. "Are we sure we want to stay here? Do you want to go home?"

Ikaika 5 "My home is where you are not back in my home country. It is beautiful here and we have made connections with the locals which I hope will only strengthen over time. I want to build our lives here and be a part of the bigger hole. Its kinda hard to do that when you live in a swamp. But since I do miss it occassionally we can always go on family trips." He missed swiming in his home waters and collecting the plants he knew, but now there were plants and people he would miss here too. And it was way more interesting here. He was glad that having his face stamped all over their child would deter the psyco grandparents as was evidenced by his posessive toothy smile. He nipped Kaiko's ear. The happiest man ever.

Kaiko 5 Kaiko was so happy that Ikaika seemed to understand. Seemed to undertake the challenge naturally instead of being in any way intimidated. Kaiko adored his spirit. He truly believed that Ikaika was his perfect mate, so stubborn and dauntless that he flung himself headlong into doing whatever he could to protect his family. Kaiko thought he was a truly amazing warrior. With his shorter knives he prefered to keep his distance or sneak under their guard with extra guts and speed. They would have amazing children.

Ikaika 6 "Well since we are not going anywhere, what do you think about adding an addition to our home? The material are maleable and it might be nice to have and extra room or two. More love, more space." More little beings to enliven them. He couldn't wait to hold his child. "Look at this seam here, we could alter the door way and extend to create a third room. I also think we could extend off the laundry area too.

Kaiko 6 Kaiko sasshayed over to where Ikaika was pointing. "I agree with this one, but dont you think having a room off of the bedroom we sleep in every night might be a better choice than the laundry?" He was just thinking for when whichever child was younger could be closer to them because of trouble in the night, like hungry, need water or nightmares. He was nothing if not practicle. "I love that you have thought this through even to where to expand the house. You will be an awesome Dad." "We will also need to go hunting more, children take a lot of food and supplies."

Ikaika 7 Sometimes he wondered how he got so lucky out of them all to have this regal, arrogant, beautiful, sweet, caring thing as his own. Kaiko was the epitomy of beauty to him. He loved him so much. "Right yes! More food!" he was always okay with more food. They went through a lot as it was. "We can take turns hunting, that way it evens out the load. Though foraging is awfully lucrative."

Kaiko 7 Kaiko smiled. Ikaika was trying so hard. Kaiko was in the best of hands. He felt like maybe his ancestors would have been proud of his choices even if his direct parents were not. "I'm sure everything will be perfect Ika." "Maybe we could go visit our eels before we start and see if the spirits choose to give us any omens through them." He put a hand behind Ikaika's neck and kissed his forehead sweetly. "We got this."

Ikaika 8 He all but purred at the attention. He was quite happy. The more the merrier indeed. "Hey I'm too excited to settle in now, want to go for a walk around town?" He took Kaiko's and and all but dragged the more graceful one out the door of the garden gate. "Maybe I could treat you to some of that flash seared fish by the shore huh? It's both of our favorites and I can treat." Food, a nice walk, more chats about the future, sounded to him like the perfect date. Especially because it was his mate going with him. Every year Kaiko grew more beautiful.
