Cold, wet, rainy. Spring had come with torrential downpour today and on top of that a cold that would be more familiar in beach towns -- on a boardwalk, no less! - or other similar features, and while it was proof the seasons were having conniptions about changing, it really didn't bother Limosa overmuch, being vaguely under the impression her fuku was, for lack of better terminology, made to help to a degree, she suspected the exposed skin wouldn't be as 'meh' proverbially speaking if she hadn't been visiting her wonder or patrolling through winter.

Like she was doing now.

Limosa was passing not through the main poark of Destiny City perhaps, but one with a rose garden, deigning to make her patrol far more accomodating as she took in the scents and colors, before a chaos aura nearby drew her attention and the Senshi paused, looking towards the sensation of soimeone with an intense gaze before sighing and walking. Best see if they were friendly, or dangerous, then.

Jadarite did not like spring.

It was muddy. There was pollen. The temperature had a tendency to flip flop wildly between between being bearable and being freezing, or perhaps even hot, in a matter of hours.

It wouldn't have been so bad if she could have stayed in the office, or better yet, at home with her video games, but no. She was an officer of the Negaverse, and her quota was coming up, which meant that she had to go looking for energy, even though it was raining.

Perhaps it would be some cover, although that was a small relief as she made her way through the freezing park. She'd switched out her red heels for rain boots, and she'd brought an umbrella, but she was still shivering, and she'd yet to find any targets. Perhaps that was to be expected, but she'd thought there might be a few of the city's less unfortunates huddling under the eaves of a shed or something.

Instead she ended up with a senshi creeping up from behind her, despite the weather. Unhappy with that development, Jada turned to glare at the girl from under her umbrella.

Maybe sneaking up on people wasn't as polite as coming from the front or side, but Limosa was still cautious. Moew patrols meant more chances to meet others of the opposing faction, and the senshi paused, rain beading on violet and pink and gols, but the sating purple ribbins tying her heels on and her fuku soaked it. Not like normal fabric -- Limosa strongly suspected it was similar to a swimsuit - buit she was soaked, but did not try to move for the umbrella because she didn't really know this wpman == she could be dangerous, or safe, and Limosa dared not test her luck.

"Hello. What brings you out here today?" She asked. Polite couldn't hurt, but... One still needed be wary.

Jadarite looked the girl over, raising an eyebrow at the tentacles on her skirt, although she didn't say anything about that.

Yet.

She supposed she could try to say something clever and subtle, to try to give this senshi a good impression of the Negaverse in the same way that she tried to win over the public. However, her last few encounters with senshi had ended terribly, and the rain was souring her mood, and she was not particularly concerned with if this girl liked her.

"Looking for energy," she said, matter of fact. "Are you here to stop me?"

I'M SORRY I LOST THE LINK FFFFFFFFFFFFF

"Only if it's unethical, like draining the wrong kind of person." Limosa had standards... And npo idea why energy draining did, meant, or anything, because she so rarely ran into agents, and fought less often than that. Instead Limosa held some caution, deciding that she wasn't going to openly admit she just used magic to throw criminals to the cops, but instead see what happened. Couldn't hurt, honestly!

Besides, this one didn't seem terribly friendly, which put Limosa on edge, an edge she did not like.

The wrong kind of people?

Jadarite had never heard that one before, and it gave her pause. Her scowl turned from one of annoyance to one of confusion, and she was silent for a moment.

"Drunks, mostly," she said.

The homeless were another popular target of hers, but she knew that it would be illogical to admit to that in so many words. "People who don't have their lives together, and who don't need the extra energy to go getting into trouble."

She still stayed tense, ready for the senshi to take offense to her existence, the way they often did.

Limosa opened her mouth, closed it, opened it again, then looked like she needed a moment. ANd she technically did. On one hand, she understood Jadarite's logic. Drunks really shouldn't be wandering around late at night anyways, and where if 'homeless folk' had been mentioned Limosa might have countered they couldn't help their circumstances... No, she understood. At least she wasn't attacking at random.

"Okay, not who I was thinking but I do see your logic." She admitted calmly. She did! She really did!.... But then she spent her patrols crime-fighting -- ooohh.

"Maybe consider adding the city's criminals to that...? Can't hurt." She really wasn't one to judge here. At all.

Again, it wasn't the response that Jadarite had been expecting.

She was quiet for a long moment, considering what would be best to say in response, but the better part of the annoyance had faded from her face.

"That's a good suggestion," she said eventually. She wasn't sure how often it would come up. She hadn't run into many criminals in her patrols so far, other than underage drinkers and the occasional drug dealer. Still, it would be a good look for the Negaverse if they could be seen as the ones fighting crime.

"I think I'll try that," she said, and then, after a beat, added, "Do you know where to find criminals?"

They likely didn't gather places consistently, but it seemed worth asking about.

I can still save this battle just not how expected I guess???]

"I like looking in the bad part of town!" Oh! Oh oh, Limosa liked her, she was sensible! "I tend to include it in my patrols. Practice magic and whatnot on them. Burglers, robbers, that kind of thing. And if you look near clubs, there's sometimes especially seedy people preying on others." She didn't feel the need to explain 'seedy' if only because not only where there multiple types of it, but also the types she thought of didn't think with their minds. Instead she smiled cheerfully and motioned.

"I don't run into others often, so I use crooks for target practice for now. Though really I'm always open for sparring, really." She just didn't run into chaos often! And meeting someone besides her Negapal was.. Exciting, now she was calming. This was nice!

"Oh, I'm aware of the especially seedy," said Jadarite with a knowing nod. "Those are already on my list."

It was more because they were the easiest to lure off into secluded areas and drain dry than it was because of any other reason, but it was a bonus that the next time around, they might think twice about their actions.

The sparring comment got a thoughtful tongue click out of Jadarite before she nodded again.

"Why don't you show me what you do to these crooks?" she asked. "Now you've got me curious."

Sparring with the enemy wasn't something she would usually consider, but it was a good way to get information on the senshi without risking her own safety.

"Show? I don't mind that. I admit, I'm not the best combatant." Limosa looked genuinely embarressed to admit it, but she did offer Jadarite a bright smile and warm tone one offered a friend -- she didn't want to hurt anyone but she understood the curiousity. Besides, maybe Jadarite might know some areas she was weak or -- well, okay, she was thinking of her more and more like a friend. But really, she had no reasons, or rather, she didn't think she had reason to judge. "Anywhere I shouldn't hit? I mean, face an head are obvious, but I don't want to accidentally do serious harm or something."
PostPosted: Sat Jun 26, 2021 5:17 pm

"Face and head," she agreed, but did not add anything more. Even if she had old injuries or some other type of weak spot, she was not going to reveal them so easily.

To be honest, Jadarite could use the practice. She'd been behind on sparring with her team so busy, and it showed whenever she found herself in a fight.

If she could convince this senshi to go a little easy, it could help her prepare for the next time. Still, she was still wary, not entirely convinced that the girl was not just trying to get her off her guard.

She crouched down into something of a stance, her eyes never leaving the senshi. "I'm ready," she said.

Limosa nodded, unsure entirely how she'd do. She hoped she didn't hurt the other woman, but she also hoped it went well. Limosa also concluded that she wasn't using her magic in this, even thought Jadarite was chaos; it felt cheap, even if she gladfly blinded criminals on the regular. No, Limosa instead blinked when Jadarite assumed a battler position, and awkwardly braced, visibly unused to fighting before nodding.

"Me too!" Did... Did Jadarite go first?.... Limosa awkwardly remembered to form her hands into fists, but nodded as she did, trying not to look mean. Shje was just... Trying her best, rewally.

Jada saw how the other girl hesitated. She must not have much training, then. While Jadarite still wasn't necessarily proficient in combat, she at least knew the basics of how to stand and how to hold her fists so she did not break her fingers.

She preferred to use her stapler to avoid that issue entirely, but that seemed like a bit much in this situation.

If the senshi was hesitating, Jadarite was not going to. She attempted a punch, one that was not full strength, but still the best form she could manage, aimed at the senshi's chest.

Limosa was not accustomed to fighting with other powereds, but she was used to criminals and when she spied the punch coming, she shifted to trying blocking it, wincing when the fist connected to her forearm. She wasn't upset or even offended it wasn't full strength -- she took a mental note and in turn moved to attempts a punch of her own, trying to ensure she held back herself. She wanted to respect her opponent's limits, and to do that meant going out of her usual comfort level (she didn't hold back with crooks) and that meant restraint, which was fine by her, really! It also meant she was happy to not use her magic on someone whom really didn't deserve it.

There were far more worthy targts for that.
