It was a bit earlier than perhaps was normal for a Senshi to begin their patrol, but Tyrannosaurus was just too excited about her new 'job' to sit around and wait much longer. She wanted to get out there and find some bad guys, and do some good. She wanted to see if she could get stronger, and just how different all the youma out there could be. She only got a short crash course from Carlisle so far about what to expect, but he promised to train her and introduce her to others soon enough.

For now, though, she was more than willing to explore without him, whether he liked that idea or not.

Tilting her hat down a bit, covering her eyes with the brim of it as she strolled down the street, Tyrannosaurus was feeling more than a little confident in herself. Sure, she had never been in a real fight before, not one where the stakes mattered. Scuffles at school and all the battles in RPGs did not count for much, but since she got this magical boost she was pretty sure she could do anything. And there was no way to truly know that then to get out there and test it.

She was patrolling near a quiet part of town where there were a few small, locally owned shops still open. An antique store with dim lights seemed to be open, but it looked a bit spooky and she opted not to go into it. There were other, friendlier places on the street than that pawn shop. Vaguely, she felt a weird sort of prickling in the back of her mind, but she was not exactly sure what it was.

It made her stop, though, and look around curiously.

T-Rex blinked at the person that appeared at the door, then offered her a big toothy grin. And here she was, about to walk on by without giving the place another look! Sure, it was creepy, but to have a bad guy in it? It was too good to be true!

Of course, neither of them knew that the grumpy looking proprietor of the store, watching them from the counter curiously, was also part of the Negaverse. He opted not to power up or get involved in whatever was going on there, vaguely annoyed that someone had been hunting inside his shop at all. But he supposed it was only fair.

How could they know where the crocodile was hiding?

"Hello there! Wanna join me on a walk? I think we could have a lot to talk about, you and me!" Tyrannosaurus laughed, a surge of cocky adrenaline pulsing through her as she looked Jadarite up and down as if trying to make sure she was looking at what she thought she was. But the aura would not lie, much like her own was probably giving her away.

Except she was not trying to hide, if the way she held up her hand and clenched her fist in challenge was anything to go by.

"Do I need to? Because that's pretty boring. We could just skip the lectures for someone else, if you already know them anyway," and, if Tyranno was honest with herself, she was not well versed enough in all the ins and outs of the business to know just what to say to someone like that. Yes, she knew White Moon was her team, and 'good', while the Negaverse was Chaos and thus bad. Easy stuff, and really it was all she needed to launch into this new quest line.

The young senshi laughed, cracking her knuckles

This was her first random encounter, and while she was sure there would be no tutorial for it, she was ready to dive in. Button mashing was out of the question, but how different was it to just using her fist to do the mashing? Really, it would be fun for the rough and tumble girl.

"So what was the plan in there? Steal some energy while no one was looking? Pretty ballsy! Of course, that's not going to happen now. You're not going anywhere tonight, except face down on the pavement."

T-Rex blinked as an object appeared in the other's hand, knowing that Negaverse soldiers could summon weapons to use in battles. That, however, did not look like a weapon, and she bit her lower lip as she just barely managed not to laugh. A scoff did escape her, though, and she pointed at it in an effort to tease it before realizing it was already heading her way.

"Yo!"

T-Rex pulled backwards, dodging as best she could out of the swinging arm's range. She growled, lifting a hand and pointing to the sky above her.

"It's FEEDING TIME!"

For the first time using her magic in an actual fight, it all seemed to come to her very naturally. She knew where the magic was going to collect, just above her head, the air almost feeling charged as the spectral image of a skeletal Tyrannosaurus head, like the ones often on display in museums, appeared. It opened its mouth, the jaw looking like it almost wanted to drop off, and a high pitched roar screeched out. A pulse of magic surged out along with the sound, which was designed to freeze someone in their tracks should it hit them.

Tyrannosaurus had not used that skill in battle before, at least not a real battle, and she was absolutely amazed to see that beautiful skull do its job. She was not even too certain what it did, but seeing the way her new opponent could not even move was a great hint.

She charged, taking advantage of the sudden stand still.

"Bet'cha wish you were getting a lecture now, huh! Instead, you're getting a fist to the face!!"

Pulling her fist back, she lunged as quickly as she could. Maybe she was destined to be a frontal brawler: that was the way she chose to play video games, after all. She hated wasting time on a party member that could only heal or, even worse, buff. Instead, she was determined to power up her hardest hitters and just power level through any battle that cropped it. Generally, minus a few games that required strategy despite her best efforts, it worked.

So maybe in real life, her tactic would be to punch things until they gave up and stopped doing evil. With that in mind, she swung as hard as she could, in her unpracticed way, at the Nega's jaw.

"Oomph!" Tyrannosaurus protested, as the uninvited knee slammed into her midsection like it knew her. She immediately jerked away, though her body was in the process of doubling up on instinct, and ended up sprawling haphazardly sideways and rolling until she was in a half crouch not too far away and struggling to look like she had planned it and could land the move coolly.

Of course, she had not, and did not.

Taking a moment to get her breath back, all of the air she had been storing in her lungs forcibly escaping her. In the games she loved so very much, her characters could take a bunch of hits before they reacted, if they were animated to react at all, save when their HP hit 0. In reality, even taking one hit was a surprisingly unpleasant experience that was far more difficult to bounce back from than she would have anticipated. Still, the magical boost she got from powering up still got her back to her feet.

If she were powered down, she was pretty sure she would have been laid out and out of the fight.

"Think that's enough to stop me?" she wheezed, voice suspiciously higher pitched than before. Shaking her head, and taking a big gulp of air to fortify herself with, she charged at Jadarite again. This time she lowered her shoulder, aiming to barrel into the other and attempt to knock her off her feet before she got away.

Tyrannosaurus was puffing and aching now, not sure she wanted to keep fighting but not thinking she had much time to react now. She was flying on instinct, and she was still on the ground as she rocked back onto her knees and threw her hands up over her head.

"It's feeding time!!!" She yelped desperately, summoning the magic that came with her namesake to the space just above her palms.

Glowing bright for a moment, the magic swirled together until it found its form, a large, skeletal T-Rex skull thundering to life. Its fossilized jaw dropped open, lacking any kind of musculature to open in a natural way, and an ear piercing roar escaped what would have been its throat if it had one. Instead, it was a pulse of magic, radiating out around the area of the skull, which T-Rex was still trying to figure out just how far that was. She hoped she was close enough, at least practiced enough with her magic to know it would give her the ability to run the heck away.

Or at least get as far away as she could in the few seconds she was granted. Hopefully far enough that the Nega would not give chase...

Tyrannosaurus had a choice ahead of her.

She could use the momentary paralysis of her magical spell to attack her enemy, get the upper hand and maybe win this fight outright, or she could use it to run away while the going was good. She considered the first option, clenching her fist, but such a strong, repulsive rush of acid rose in her throat that she knew she could never bring herself to do it. Attack an enemy while they were almost helpless? It was just not in her nature.

She had not gotten a surprise attack: she had no right to steal a win half way through the battle. That was not how a real warrior fought, and not how she got the best experience out of her magic.

And really, she just was not brave or brash enough to try it yet. Try to really beat someone in a fight. To hurt someone. To see them laid out on the ground and know for sure that she was the one that put them there. All of a sudden, despite all her daydreaming about being a true hero, it seemed like too much.

"I... I'm sorry!" she yelped, scrambling into a retreat as she hurried away from the negaverse soldier, almost falling over herself in her haste. Why was she so afraid all of a sudden? She had no idea, and it was not something she had ever experienced before. But it was definitely something she was going to have to figure out.
