Paracelsian knew the value of a good monologue, and he wasn't exactly about to squash a perfectly good train of thought. Still, being heard drew attention, and he hoped that the lieutenant he was about to drop in on would realize that.

His approach was intended to be solid enough to possibly startle, yet polite. "Greetings, Lieutenant," he said, his tone even. Now, should he address what he heard or let it slide for a bit? He opted for the latter, but not for a particularly long postponement. "How are your patrols going?"

Then, of course, he was met with a surprise of his own: a downed body by the lieutenant. A soft "ah" escaped his lips as he put two and two together in hopefully the right order. "It seems you've had an encounter. What happened?" He really hoped there was some context behind what appeared to be a starseed ripping.
