After taking care of her brother and dealing with his stubbornness for a few days she had finally given in to his demands. He'd wanted her to go and check on someone for him otherwise he was going to go and do it himself. The threat had been a very real one when he'd pushed himself too far and collapsed again on the floor of his home. So it led Thea to where she was now. Standing at the door of some woman's place. She narrowed her eyes at the door as if it had offended her. The thin hybrid was trying to figure out when her brother had become so buddy buddy with a female.
As she thought about it she brought her hand up and knocked with attitude. Just why kind of person was this woman? Had she done something to her brother to get him to be so caring? Was she blackmailing him? Theanduri rolled her eyes a bit then knocked again, giving almost no time for the first knock to be answered. "Hello!?" Since her brother hadn't given her a description of the woman she wasn't sure what to expect. If the woman was a pure blood Oban and thought she was better than everyone then Thea might just punch her and if she was after her brother just because he had gorgeous eyes then she was getting more than a punch. "Hey!"

Adenah could count the amount of times she'd left her apartment since the hit on one hand. Her mentor, Knott, had been tending to her wounds when she could, but the woman worked far more than Adenah had ever cared to. Instead of the 'once per month' quota that she'd given herself Knott went out every other night, leaving Adenah to her own devices in the meantime. Normally it worked out in her favor; it gave the hybrid a chance to meander about the space on her own and do some cleaning. Wounded and healing, however, left her awkwardly shuffling from room to room just for a glass of water.
Even well over a week out Adenah was still trying to get used to things. She had just settled onto her bed when an aggressive knocker drew her ire. "What?!" She snapped. When the knocking didn't seem to stop Adenah snarled and rolled herself back out of bed. Her hair hung loose and wild around her as a perfect representation of her mood. It took her a bit to make it to the door with a cane to prop her up and when she did she was full of curses.
Adenah wrenched opened the apartment door and leaned her ample body weight against the door frame. "What the hell do you want?" She was just as exasperated as she was irritated. Moving that fast hurt, dammit, and Adenah was clearly out of breath. "If you're here for the rent I told Mathis I would have it to him by the end of the week."
The woman was decked out in little more than a thin sleeping gown, one that may have reached her knees, giving some semblance of modesty, but whose thin straps did little to keep her girls under control.

When the door was yanked open Thea looked at the woman with a deadpan stare and crossed her arms over her chest. "I'm not here about the rent." She looked the woman up and down for a small second, kinda surprised by the fact that she was looking at a hybrid, before she brought her eyes back to her face. "I'm looking for someone by the name of Uula." Thea thought it was a stupid name but she hadn't said as much to her brother. Theanduri leaned back so that she could eye the doorway she was standing in front of. "I was told I could find her here." After that she stood back upright and leveled her gaze at Adenah.

Uula? One of her many aliases, but one of the few she used in 'calmer' situations. At least that means she isn't here to attack me. Although, from the way she was practically sizing Adenah up, she could be wrong. If she'd been feeling better Adenah would have stood her ground, but as it was the hybrid was still in a fair amount of pain. So, she settled for using her cane to prop herself up and tossing a hardened gaze of her own back at the other hybrid.
Which was odd in itself to think about. How many hybrids knew of 'Uula'? And how many hybrids looked like smaller, thinner versions of - Understanding caused Adenah's eyebrows to raise. "You're Dovian's sister." She had to be. The crystals were different, same with the ears, but there was enough of a similarity for her to be sure. Leaning forward, Adenah looked down the hall and motioned for her to come into the apartment. "Come on, get inside." Regardless of what she had to say, even if it wasn't pleasant, chatting outside was just risky.

When the woman took the time to look her over Thea felt her metaphorical feather ruffling. She hadn't come here to be inspected. Hearing the woman mention her brother however, made her raise a brow. "You're Uula I take it?" Who else would come to that conclusion? Unless her brother was buddy buddy with another woman as well. So Uula wasn't a pure blood Oban, that was good. However... Theanduri took in all the curves that Adenah had and just narrowed her eyes. Being told to come in suited her just fine since she didn't feel like making a scene in the hall. "Sure thing." She slipped past the curvy woman and into the apartment but only took a few steps before she turned to face Ade again. "Well, you aren't dead so there's that." Of course she wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing right now. "What do you want from my brother?" Thea figured she might as well be blunt and up front about it since beating around the bush wasn't going to get her anywhere.

"I am." Adenah waited a breath after the other woman had come inside to check the hall, just to make sure she wasn't being tailed. When the coast was clear she hobbled back, pushed the door closed and turned - only to be face to face yet again.
"So kind of you to notice." No point in offering her tea. It was like trying to deal with a stray perzi! The woman had shown up on her doorstep, all fangs and claws, and for what? Adenah couldn't help bristling under the abrasive treatment. The space was small enough without having someone at her throat. I get enough of that at work.
The sitting area was clean, but minimal. Under normal circumstances neither of the women living there made much use of it, but it did have enough mix-matched furniture to make it resemble 'cozy'. Of course, right now, it felt anything but.
Adenah clucked her tongue and with a near death grip on her cane to help balance her, she walked up to Theanduri to close the space between them. If she was going to be threatened she'd be damned if she backed down. "What I want is to see Dovian myself to make sure he's okay. What I got is you." Adenah grit her teeth; not out of aggression, but to keep a handle on the way her stitches pulled. "You're not here to make a friend, that much is obvious, so why are you here?"

As the curvy one got close Thea stood her ground. No point in shrinking away from someone who was injured and while she may be in the thieves guild Thea was not above shanking someone. As Adenah expressed her want to see Dovian it made her head tilt to the side and a sort of snort be given in response. "He'll be fine." That was all she was going to say about that since she didn't know how much she could trust this woman. "My brother wanted me to check on you and make sure you were alright." Thea rolled her eyes a bit to the side. Motioning with her chin to one of the seats she looked back at Ade. "Why don't you sit down before you hurt yourself." Now she moved one hand to a hip so she could busy herself with looking around. "Do you need anything? Salve? Pain reliever? Food? Dovian made me promise to ensure that you had everything you needed." A fact that annoyed her. It also made her wonder just what kind of person this Uula woman was to get her usually indifferent brother to suddenly show an interest.

"You and I both know words don't mean salt." If this was the same sister that was in the thieves guild then she should know that actions were the only thing that mattered. Still, that begged the question of exactly how much Dovian had told his sister about her. For all she knew Adenah could be a random woman and maybe, just maybe, she could keep it that way.
Such a pleasant woman. It felt like she was being cared for by her grandmother all over again. The woman had done her best, but there was always a look about her. Adenah sighed and shuffled to the closest chair. Thankfully it was well padded and, with more difficulty than she would have liked, she managed to sit down. "I don't have any salves or pain relievers." She had outright refused to add to Dovian's tab. At first she'd burned through what little they had stock piled, but between Knott's shifts and Adenah's own inability to get out she'd just powered through on sheer grit.
"If you're keen on making sure I'm alright I wouldn't turn away food. Cooking...isn't exactly easy right now." Looking toward the other woman, Adenah quirked a brow, "And a name would be nice. You know mine, but I don't know yours."

Well at least the woman was somewhat smart. Theanduri waited until Adenah was seated before she said anything else. Once she was sure that the curvy woman couldn't pop right back up and try to march her little butt out the door she took a breath. "He's injured. Some broken ribs, a few open wounds and some welts." Never mind the fever he'd developed in the past day or so. Thea moved over so that she could put her hands on either side of Adenah's lap and bend forward to look at her. "Did you blackmail my brother into helping you?" The thought to have Shura tag along had been a strong one but in the end she had opted for checking in on the mystery woman alone. If only because Dovi had made her promise. "... Since my brother will just tell you my real name anyways.. its Thea." As for the cooking bit.. "I'm not as good as my mother when it comes to cooking, but I can manage that. Also.." She reached into her back pouch and pulled out the pain relief. She held it in front of Adenah's face then dropped it into her lap. "Dovian figured you would be stubborn." Her brother had warned her and wanted her to take more supplies with her but Thea hadn't brought more than the pain relieve and some healing salve.

While it didn't sound as bad as she'd feared, the diagnosis was still pretty grim and Adenah felt herself deflate a little upon hearing it. Dovian had taken so much grief on her behalf and she would find a way to make it up to him whether he cared for it or not. Her only verbal response was a murmured curse, one that was half buried in a sigh. What could she say to that? Glad he's alive?
"Blackmail?" For a moment Adenah's eyes widened; not because of the woman's bold posture, but due to he statement. Her surprise didn't last long, though, and instead she let out a snort. "I told your brother to let me die in an alley. I was ready for it; he wasn't." She smiled a little at the thought, and despite the 'aggressive' stance of the woman before her Adenah just settled back into her chair. "He's got a good heart. I'd prefer if he kept it that way." The less involved he was in her world the better. Dovian had his own set of issues, with his own ties and contracts. This whole thing only just proved how much they really shouldn't be around one another.
"That idiot!" Adenah gasped and reached for the medicine. Instead of looking relieved she looked absolutely aggravated. "Why couldn't he just leave well enough alone?" Still...she couldn't say she wasn't happy to have it. She'd managed to keep the wound clean, but it was still swollen and burned when she moved. A little medicine would go a long way...

She took note of the surprise there and narrowed her eyes a bit. So the woman hadn't blackmailed her brother. That could be worse though. If Dovian actually let someone get close to him then it meant he trusted them enough as a friend. Theanduri sighed. "Oh great.. so he actually likes someone." Her head gave a small shake and she raised a brow at Adenah's reaction to the pain relief. "You're joking right? If you know my brother at all then you know damned well he will take care of you even when you tell him not to." Her eyes rolled to the side slightly. "Mama really raised him too well. Precious boy treats every woman in his life like a queen. Then again, our dad does the same thing." She shook her head again, this time more to herself as she moved toward the kitchen area of the apartment to see what it was she was working with as far as food went. "Starting to think that was a mistake. Do you have any idea how many women try to take advantage of him because of it?" She lifted a finger as she walked away from Ade, still mostly talking to herself. "Too damned many. It was the worst when he was a teen. Girls and their damned hormones chasing after him just because he has 'exotic' eyes." She did a horrible job at mimicking the girly voice often used to describe her brother's eyes. As Thea ranted about it she continued to look around the kitchen. "Thank the gods my sons did not get my eyes or it would be deja vu." Her twin sons took after her more than their father, much to her amusement, but they'd gotten their eye and hair color from him. "Alright, what do you like to eat?" Her hands went to her hips as she turned to look at Adenah.

Was that so bad? So what if he had someone in his life other than his family that he liked? So long as she wasn't hanging off his arm like one of those groupies then what did it matter? He never seemed put off to have her around if his earlier reactions were anything to go by. "I know, but that doesn't mean I have to be happy about it. He still got hurt because of me." Gloss it up however you wanted to, but that was the truth of it.
Adenah shifted in her chair just enough to catch glimpses of Thea and still remain comfortable. There wasn't much in the kitchen; a fair amount of spices and utensils, sure, but as far as fresh foods they were bare. Buying large amounts of anything was just asking for it to spoil. She had some poultry that Knott had purchased yesterday, though, as well as some eggs and a fair amount of vegetables.
Adenah snorted. "Like that Nilani girl? Last time I visited Dovian at the forge she was practically salivating all over him. It was horrible. I told him he needed to stop feeding every stray dog that came into heat, but I think I just made her made with that." She couldn't help grinning a little at the memory. If only he'd let her bash that twit's head in...
"You both have lovely eyes, but he was at work. There needs to be a limit." Adenah rolled her eyes like it were the most obvious thing in the world. "The man needs a guard dog."
At first she hadn't planned on asking for much, but then the thought of having someone else cook for her was too much of a temptation. "Do you think you could make something with those mushrooms? They need to be eat and maybe some spice? My roommate isn't one for a lot of heat."
Something about her earlier statement caught Adenah and a sudden realization came upon her. "Your Lynx's mother, aren't you?"

She snorted and rolled her eyes as she faced away from the woman. "Yeah, no.. Dovian got hurt because he chose to do something." If the woman wasn't blackmailing him then he was very much aware of what he was doing and what would happen because of it. Thea leaned her head to the side as she listened to Adenah talk about Netali. "Ahh, you met that one did you? Yeah.. she's a piece of work." She took in a deep breath then shrugged. "I'm pretty sure she's already gotten herself fitted for her wedding dress. She's not too fond of me or Shura." Theanduri may have 'accidentally' dumped honey on the woman in the middle of the summer months. "There's another one that's just as bad too. A light skinned, older Oban lady. She tried to buy Dovian once. She mistook him for a slave because he was waring a metal collar to ensure the hinge worked right." Theanduri giggled at the memory. As a request was made she looked at the mushrooms then at the spices. It took her all of a few seconds before she thought up something to make and nodded her head. "Yeah, I can manage that." She moved over to collect the spices when she heard the question about Lynx. "Mm. Yeah. Lynx is one of my twin boys. Iexa is the other." She turned her head to look at Ade. "Are you sure it was Lynx though? They are identical. What hairstyle did he have?" If it weren't for their father messing up with a pair of scissors then she was sure the boys would still be next to impossible to tell apart.

Adenah tugged at the hemline of her sleeping gown so that it could cover more of her thigh. While she wasn't exactly a modest woman she didn't want to go around exposing herself to people she barely knew. The more she twisted and situated herself among the cushions the more things started to slide.
"...Excuse me? She tried to buy him?" Adenah couldn't help the way her entire face recoiled into one of pure disgust. She had a few choices words to about that and murmured them before clucking her tongue. "That's pretty damn pathetic. People are getting better about the way they treat hybrids, but it isn't perfect. They either treat you like you're some kind of rare prize or piss on the side of the road." She'd certainly never been treated with kindness in Oba. In Jauhar she'd been sort of an exotic girl with unique features, but Ani had been shamed. In Oba the situation was reversed.
"A ponytail? It wasn't quite long enough to touch his shoulders." She was pretty certain she'd been talking to Lynx the whole time, but now that Thea had brought it up a small part of Adenah had to wonder.

"Oh yeah. She still offers to set him up real nice in her guest house from time to time." Thea clucked her tongue slightly. She wasn't a fan of any of the women who went near her brother since they all seemed to want one thing or another. "Thankfully my little brother is too lazy to attract attention." Otherwise her hands would be fuller. Mention of the hairstyle that her son had made her nod her head. "Yep, that was Lynx. Iexa is going for my look instead of his dad's." As she said that she reached back to grab her braid. A grin showed as well. Clearly she was pleased with the idea. "Hopefully Lynx wasn't a complete terror when you met him." She knew how her son could be when he wanted to irritate someone.
