It was just Mycenae's luck, honestly. He wasn't a fan of fighting, and hardly considered himself dedicated to the war effort, but every once in a while--like his scrap with that girl with the baton--he ran into someone who was eminently not reasonable.
This time, the Captain he was fighting was tiny and delicate, sure, but she had a very large advantage--or rather, a pair of them. That was, she had two very sparkly rainbow knives, and ever since she'd taken her first slice at him, when he interrupted her tearing a civilian's starseed, he'd been on the back foot.
s**t. s**t, s**t, s**t, how did he keep getting himself into these awful situations--ones that were very, very much over his head?Marialite couldn't contain her delighted little giggle. Chasing after a Page was a great time--much more fun than harassing civilians, since at least the Page might actually fight back.
"Come on, big guy! You're so tall and scary, surely you can handle a tiny little thing like me!" She said, and there was delight in every word. "Just turn around and fight! It'll be fine!"

Monoceros sensed the aura of a Page and a Captain—and having recently unlocked more potential in himself, decided he should be able to handle a Captain harassing a Page. He charged in their direction, leaping over rooftops, until he spotted them on the ground below. Marialite?Well, this was gonna be fun. Seemed like they really were some kind of fated nemeses or something. Vaguely, he wondered if there was a prophecy of some sort about it. Wouldn't that just make things even more interesting? Maybe there'd even be something about him being able to turn her from the dark side—and the flip side... He didn't want to think about the possibility, but since he was already deep in the magical hypotheticals, it would be probable that there'd be a clause that she could seduce him from the light and to the dark. Okay, seriously, that was enough of that, he thought to himself with finality as he leapt to the ground, intent on landing on Marialite like Po to Tai Lung on that staircase that one time.

Marialite felt the Order aura incoming, and she growled, rolling out of the way to avoid being landed on. She wasn't sure what she expected--but a familiar face with slightly fancier digs was definitely not it. Still, she lit up, and turned away from the Page. He was insignificant now, in the face of her favorite rival.
"Hey, Monoceros! We have got top quit running into each other like this," she said. Still, she bounced over, striking quickly with her paired daggers and hoping to land a quick opening hit.A combination of relief and concern hit Mycenae at the prickling of an Order aura nearby. It was good to have someone arriving to bail him out, but not exactly ideal when he'd been hoping to get a moment of relief from the chase to negotiate. He still had Quartz's stickpin, after all, and it had gotten Atheneite to back off.
Oh well. She might have cut his throat before he got the chance, anyway. He sagged against the wall of a nearby building, taking a moment to catch his breath, as he watched the two oft hem--obviously familiar with each other--tangle.

Monoceros grinned sharply, raising his arm with his new leather forearm armor pieces (there was probably a name for them, but he didn't really care to look it up) to take the blows. There would be bruises there, surely, his price to pay for being showy, but he couldn't bring himself to care about that, either. He wanted to throw Marialite off and show off his new moves, now that he was stronger. "Nah, I think it's rather fun!" he said with a bit of a mad cackle, her own high energy craziness infecting him just a little. "I love kicking your a**!" He lowered his arms, ducking out of the way and kicking out to sweep at her ankles.

The smack of her daggers slamming into his bracers made Marialite skip back a little, and she huffed. "Aww, is that so? I mean, I gotta say, tangling with you is the most fun I get to have, I think," she laughed, and even though he took her off her feet, she simply desummined her weapons and went into an acrobatic backflip, aiming a kick at his chin as she flipped into a standing position.
Cheer practice was good for so many things.
"So come on! Don't you dare disappoint me!"It was like watching two mad, snapping dogs go at each other. Mycenae wasn't sure what to make of any part of this fight, and he certainly wasn't inclined to interrupt. Maybe if he had the chance, he'd slip away--let these two go at it and get on with his night. Now, he just had to keep an eye out and wait for the right moment to do that.
Which was definitely not yet, not until he had a better escape route in mind. So he scanned the surroundings, looking for a way out that wouldn't put him smack in the middle of this little cage match.

Monoceros' jaw clacked shut and his head jerked back painfully as she kicked him in the chin, but he used the momentum to flip backwards, handstanding for a brief moment before landing in a crouch. "Almost knocked a tooth loose," he said cheerily, "Quill Flash!" He thrust himself up, the hand that had been holding himself up in the crouching position flinging forward and slinging quills at Marialite, hopefully not going anywhere near Mycenae. Noir Songbird A burst of porcupine quills flies from Sailor Monoceros's hand, which can cause shallow scratches and/or minor puncture wounds. Any attempt to remove the quills before they vanish will cause sharp, pinpointed pain in the area; however, they don't sink in much deeper than skin-level. A user can choose to have this attack cause permanent damage or the injury will fade when the magic expires. This attack will last 20 seconds and can be used three times per battle.

"Just a tooth? I was trying to break your jaw!" Marialite sighed, mock-upset, and turned to leap back into the fray--but his attack was coming at her, and so she brought up her arms to protect her face from the rain of quills. Even with the protection of her clothes, the magic quills sunk in deep--but Marialite just grinned.
"Come on, you and I both know you can do better than this!" She said, brightly. "These are just annoying, you must have better than this!"Mycenae took a deep breath. It was good, how wrapped up in each other they were; it gave him plenty of time to ponder his options for getting out. This was, he thought, pretty lucky for him--to have ended up between two people who had managed to make nemeses of each other.
Sure, it probably wouldn't be if either of them noticed him, but the nice thing about being in the crosshairs between Batman and the Joker was, if you were the Riddler, you could probably sneak out while the Bat was having weird sexual tension with Jokes. Which, in Mycenae's opinion, was not too far off from what was happening here.
So he scanned the area around him, and his eyes lit on an alleyway a few buildings down. All he had to do was make a break for it, and even if the alley was a dead end, he was pretty sure these two clowns were too busy with each other to care if he was here or not.
He ran, moving around the fight and towards his exit, and slid between the walls of the alley with an exhale. Perfect. He was out.
Let the two of them have their grudgematch.

Monoceros just grinned. "Come a little closer and you'll find out," he crooned, taking a quick glance around. Ah. Good. The knight had fled; that made things much easier. "Unless, of course, you're actually afraid of what I can do—in which case, feel free to go home and try again tomorrow," he said in a sing-song.

"Oh, please," Marialite rolled her eyes. "I could never be afraid of you, Shadow the Hedgehog." She resummoned her knives, twirking the hilt of one between her fingers.
"You, on the other hand, should definitely be afraid of me." Then, with an eager grin, she stopped in her tracks, and threw the knife she'd been twirling at him, and with a huff, she teleported in close in the direction she guessed he'd dodge, slashing with the other blade and aiming for the face.
She didn't want to kill him--but it might be nice to mark him up a little. Just to make sure he never forgot her.

"Excuse me, I'm Knuckles!" he said, affronted, then immediately backpedaled, "No, ********, I'm a porcupine—well, not a porcupine—" This was getting out of hand. He shut up and dodged her knife— Right into her teleporting attack. Her other knife slashed down his face and he jerked back, clutching at his cheek as it bled profusely. s**t. He knew that there were loads of capillaries in the face, but it still was an alarming amount of blood. "Quill Burst," he growled lowly, getting right back into her personal space. He needed to land this so he could run. Noir Songbird Sailor Monoceros leaps up to the bad guy, getting close, before letting loose a burst of quills from his entire body. (Allies beware!) The Burst is less aim-controlled than the Flash, but more intense. These quills will likely puncture more deeply from being close up and attempts to remove the quills before disappearance will cause a sharp, hot pain where the quill is pinned, and a more dull ache in the surrounding area, making the muscles more sore. A user can choose to have this attack cause permanent damage or the injury will fade when the magic expires. This attack will last about 30 seconds and can be used twice per battle.

Marialite grinned, skipping back and taking in the lovely slash she'd made on his face. "Aww, now your pretty face is all marked....up..."
Her eyes went wide when she realized he was casting another spell, and she yelped, turning her head and throwing her arms up to protect her face. There were quills all over, and she cried out in pain, stumbling backwards and falling to the ground.
"Ow, ********, that's---what the hell is that?" She snarled, and she reached up to yank a few quills out of her arm--and she yelped in pain, dropping them and cradling her arm close to her chest.

"Told ya I was a porcupine," he said with a sharp grin, a hand still covering the wound over his eye. It didn't feel like his eye had been gotten, at least, just his forehead and cheek. Best not to risk it anymore, though. Tine to go. "Toodles!" he hollered over his shoulder as he sprinted off into the night. He needed to make like Superman and find a place to change so he could visit a hospital or something.
