It had been a quiet night so far, and Mycenae was grateful for that. Quiet nights were good for his ability to think. He could walk, and turn over everything going on for him lately--with Harker crashing back into his life, and all the attendant....everything that came with that.
Unfortunately, as he paused to lean against a low wall, he felt the flicker of a Chaos aura in his awareness. He sighed, heavily, and pushed back up, heading to investigate. This was probably someone he needed to intervene against, which was unfortunate. Mycenae disliked getting into fights. But here he was, and it wasn't like he could just walk away from someone doing harm.
Maybe he would get lucky. Maybe it would be someone willing to have a chat. And maybe it would be a problem.

Atheneite had found a couple in a dark alley having a make out session. It was frankly a bit disgusting, but more than that it was stupid. Here they were out late in an area with no other people and they were quite unaware of there surroundings. They were the perfect prey for someone like Atheneite. She struck quick, knocking them both out. She proceeded the begin draining them of their energy.
She had nearly draining them dry when she felt the order signature approaching her. She grinned she always loved it when do gooders decided to intervene in her affairs.
She looked at the techno eskimo looking man that approached her. "I know it's winter but don't you think that's a little much." She said glibly as she pointed her finger at the man's outfit. She waited to see what he would do.

It was a problem.
Of course it was a problem. There was nothing else it could be. Some snot-nosed Lieutenant who had clearly been draining the two unconscious civilians next to her.
"Perhaps it is a bit much. But it does its job," he said, voice cold as the winter his outfit was built for. "More importantly, don't you think you've done quite enough to those poor people?"
He spun his shillelagh, ready to fight. This was going to be...interesting.

She eyed the Eskimo man with a bored look. "All I've done is take their energy, frankly I could do alot more to them." She said as she tossed and caught her baton in answer to the man's shillelagh.
"I might still do more, their star seeds would make a nice trophy don't you think." She was growing rather fond of the glowing little crystals that resided inside of people.
"Or are you gonna stop me." She said as she caught the baton before chucking at the man's head.

"Unfortunately," Myceane said dryly, "as much as I prefer not to have fights with you Negaverse sorts, I can't let you do that." He squared off, and as she tossed her baton, he brought his shillelagh up to catch it and knock it away. Then, he moved in.
In a lot of situations, Mycenae would have been at a height advantage, but the Lieutenant matched him there, and he didn't want to discount her physical prowess.
s**t, this might be messy.

"You don't want to fight?" She asked in a mocking tone. "Well you shouldn't have powered up then buddy, because I love to fight you goody good types." He knocked away her baton but that was fine, she loved to bloody up knuckles.
She swung for this guy's face as he moved in. She hoped he could use that Shillelagh he was carrying. She wanted a good fight.
She wanted this get messy.

The good and bad news for Atheneite was, Mycenae very much knew how to use his shillelagh. And, frankly, considering that she was content to slam her fist into his face, he didn't feel bad about bringing it down to smack into her side.
Still, he took a hop-step back to disengage, and reached up to remove his visor, tossing it aside. It looked dramatic, certainly, but it was more of a liability when she went for the face.
"Goody goody types. Hah, what a joke." He brushed a thumb over the grape stickpin, tucked under his jacket collar, that he'd gotten from Quartz all those years ago. "As if it's somehow angelic to not let you murder random people on the street."

She gasped in pain as the shillelagh hit her side. But she recover quick summoning her baton back to her hand as she knocked away the shillelagh. She swung her her baton down on the man's shoulder.
"Oh please, butting into a situation you know nothing about, trying to act all righteous about killing. Please I know you type." She huffed, she hadn't even considered killing the two until this p***k butted in. But now, now she was tempted just to spite the man.

Mycenae grit his teeth as the baton came down on his shoulder, twisting away from her and shifting his shillelagh from one hand to the other so that he could swing it, again, at her side.
"If you think stopping you from killing random people is righteous, I don't know what to say to you." Her exhaled between his teeth, and then took another step back to give himself more space.
"Look," he said, but he kept his weapon raised defensively, "like I said. I don't want to fight you. I don't morally oppose the Negaverse. A few years ago, I was in an information-sharing arrangement with one of your officers, a man by the name of Quartz. I don't like seeing people killed for no reason, but if that's not what you intend to do, we can both walk away, here."

"I think you're righteous for sticking your nose into my business before you know any of the facts." She huffed as she swung her baton at the incoming shillelagh knocking it aside.
She was ready to continue her attack when the man retreated keeping a defensive posture, a smart move. She was more than a little disappointed when the man tried to make peace. She wanted to draw blood tonight, but if what he was saying was true...well she did have a policy of not attacking her allies if she can help it.
"Do you have any sort of proof?" She questioned. "I don't know an officer by that name, describe him." To be fair she had been away from Destiny City for a long time. She kept an aggressive stance, one wrong move she would go for the b*****d's star seed.

Myceane reached under the ruff of his unoform, undoing and extracting the stickpin and holding it up.
"Quartz gave these out to his informants. He's tall, with dark hair, and his entire uniform had the look of a rainbow in black. Reminiscent of our Cosmos Knights, I'd say. His weapon was a spear." Hopefully that was enough, and she would believe him. "When I met him first, he was a Captain. I haven't seen him in some time, so he might not be around anymore, one way or the other."

"Cosmos? I assume those are the twinkly little sparkle knights. I've come across them before." She thought back fondly of her recent fight with such a knight.
She walked over snatching the stickpin, she examined it. She hadn't seen the item before. But on the other hand would he be so brazen as to lie to her face and then pull out a random object. The object must have meant something to the agent who gave it. Some kind of signifier that was lost on her.
"Very well." She said tossing the pin back to the man as she walked away. "I'm gonna looked into this, if you're lying I'm gonna find you and I'm break your face." She said in a deadly serious tone. She was more than little annoyed her fight had been ended so prematurely but there was nothing that could be done about it.
"Oh and cause you're so concerned about murder. They're fine just drained, take them to a hospital or something if you really want I don't care." She said over shoulder as disappeared into the darkness of the alleyway.

Mycenae let her take the stickpin without a fuss; as long as he got it back eventually, he figured he could make due. when she tossed it back, he caught it, and stuck it back in place, grinning.
"That sounds like a fair deal, Lieutenant," he said, dryly. Frankly, he hoped Quartz had records of his activities--but the pins were meaningless if there wasn't one, so.
He let her go, and glanced at the two unconscious bodies on the ground, letting out a sigh. Hospital, no, but he could at least pick them up and put them somewhere more dignified than the floor of an alley.
