Atheneite was bored out of her mind tonight. She finally returns to the states and other than her sparing match with her general it was just as boring here as it was in London. She was sat on a roof tossing her baton up and down just looking for anyone to fight. She was about to give up when she suddenly felt a small order aura appear. It felt like the person was roughly at the same level as her.

A feral grin spread across the young lieutenant's face. She hopped down from her perch and made her way towards the source of the aura. She found a young man dressed in what appeared to be animal furs with prickly bits. She regarded the small round senshi with a predator's eye. She wasn't sure this boy would give her the fight she had been looking for but he would have to do.

"Hey you know its not safe to be out this late alone." She called out to the senshi in a mocking voice. She eyed the young man waiting to see what he would do.

Monoceros had sensed her as she came up, so her voice didn't startle him. As much as he wanted to participate in banter, he knew that if she was wanting to start with that, he could easily get the drop on her by turning and firing off a round of Quill Flash immediately.

Then he could safely quip at her some bullshit.

He turned and fired it at her without another hesitation.

"I'm hardly alone anymore," he called to her, grinning, "Seems I've got a new friend! Would you like to play a game?"

Sailor Scout Attack: Quill Flash

A burst of porcupine quills flies from Sailor Monoceros's hand, which can cause shallow scratches and/or minor puncture wounds. Any attempt to remove the quills before they vanish will cause sharp, pinpointed pain in the area; however, they don't sink in much deeper than skin-level. A user can choose to have this attack cause permanent damage or the injury will fade when the magic expires. This attack will last 20 seconds and can be used three times per battle.

Ok she wasn't expecting the little man to come out swinging his magic. She barely got her arm up in time to block her face as the the strange little prickly bits ripped through her sleeve and dug into her arm. It hurt like hell and it took her a moment to realize they were quills like from a porcupine.

She tried ripping the quills away but that just cause more pain as she let out a grunt of pain and a bit of blood seeped down her arm.

She growled at the senshi. "Oh we're gonna play alright but I don't think you're gonna like the game." With that she moved fast closing the distance between the two of them as she swung her brass baton as hard as her magically empowered strength allowed her at his gut.

Monoceros coughed as he took the hit, letting the momentum push him back into a relatively smooth backwards somersault. He rolled up onto the balls of his feet, staying low, then lurched forward to tackle her feet and hopefully bring her down to the ground.

The senshi took the blow before bouncing back to attack her legs. The attack knocked her off her feet. She thudded against the ground as she grit her teeth her the against the pain of the impact.

She recovered in an instant and pounced on the senshi as she wrestled him trying to ground and pound him. She was gonna make sure this senshi tasted his own blood tonight.

He grunted as she twisted away from him as she fell, cursing. He was hoping he could've done something else, but he'd missed his chance. She was much more nimble than he was.

God, he needed to lose some weight if he was ever going to be useful.

...These thoughts were not helpful right now, and Ryan idly wondered if he'd taken his Adderall that day or if it was just plain wearing off by now.

Still not helping! he told himself as she jumped on him and wailed on him.

He coughed again as she got a good hit on his ribcage. ********. s**t. Crap. He inhaled as sharply as he could and twisted his lower half, kicking out against her and hoping he landed a good hit. He had to get her off him. If he got her off, he could try to run. Find other help. Or at least get away, disappear into one of the parks with numerous trees.

She felt good pummeling this snort nosed punk of a senshi. She'd gladdly have continued wailing on him till his face was a bloody paste but he was clearly a scrapper at heart as he continued fighting. He managed to get a good kick right in her kidneys. She rolled off of him as the pain shot through her side.

She recovered quickly enough but the senshi was already off running for the trees. "Get back here you little p***k!" she screamed as she scrambled to her feet. She summoned her weapon to her hand as she gave chase. She was right on the young man's heels.

Monoceros sprinted like his life depended on it—which was absolutely true, when he let himself think about it, but if he let himself think about it, he'd get too distracted and do something dumb, probably, like trip over a tree root and get himself caught again and probably die because she'd take his starseed and—

He tripped over a tree root and went flying through the air with a scream, landing and plowing through the dirt for several feet, before coming to a stop—by rolling through some thorny brush. Great, cool, just awesome, he was totally gonna die, he thought to himself as he lay there, wheezing.

Somehow, he managed to pull himself up again. He knew he didn't have the wherewithal to run right now, so he propped himself against one of the traitorous trees and peered into the darkness, looking for movement.

There.

He fired his Quill Flash again with a rasping breath, praying he hit her and distracted her long enough for him to try to get away again. He just had to. Getting away now meant being able to fight another day, and that mattered more than trying to take down just one person now.

She was gonna kill this senshi when she got her hands on him. She'd make him regret the day he decided to power up. She was gaining on him when he suddenly tripped with a scream and a thud.

An evil and sadistic grin spread across her face as she looked at the downed senshi. She started to advance on him, she thought about just what she was gonna do to when suddenly he was firing his magic again.

This time she couldn't block it in time before the quills hit her face as she staggered back with a scream of pain and rage. Her face felt like she had just stuck her head into a beehive. By the time she had composed herself the senshi had vanished. She scream a curse to the night sky as she smashed her baton into the trunk of a tree. She wouldn't forget this night and she'd find that senshi again and make him pay dearly.
