Celestial Omens

Solo or RP Format
Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7

There are many superstitions and beliefs in Tendaji, often originating from the culture and gods of each individual region. Wherever one goes, they might find a new routine or practice based on the region they are in. However, there seems to be one thing that all Tendaji residents believe in - the power and beauty of a meteor shower.

The rare celestial event is seen as a blessing, and this one just so happens to have appeared right when the New Year began. Oh what luck and what a great omen - this must be a sign of good fortune for the year to come.

[ How does your character react to the meteor shower that is lighting up the sky? How do they see this omen impacting their life and year to come? Explore the thoughts and experience either alone or with a friend. ]

Nii 1/7

She'd been out practicing away from home so that she didn't have to worry about her stepmother seeing some imaginary flaw in her movements. Niiemh had enjoyed the quiet as well. But she'd failed to make sure all the rocks in the area were cleared away and one misstep had seen her roll her ankle and go down.

Now she sat gently cradling her leg and worrying about making it back home without being late.

Tiam 1/7

Not wanting to be anywhere close to home when his dad finally came by to collect him he had decided to go for a very long walk. It landed him in the next town or so over. Tiam was tossing a rock up into the air then catching it as he walked simply for something to do. As he continued on he noticed there was a girl sitting on the ground and it looked like she was holding her leg.

He paused for a second to look around and see if there was someone else around. As much as he hated it he always remembered what his dad had taught him about traps and how some people used ruses like damsels in distress. He kept the rock in one hand while the other went behind him to the small knife he kept with him. Slowly he got closer. "Uh, hey.. you alright?"

Nii 2/7

She gave a small hiss as she touched her sore ankle. Nii was almost sure it was going to swell up too. She'd have to stay off of it for a few days. Then she heard someone talking to her and she half jumped as she quickly turned her head to look at who it was. Her curly hair flew out around her and she stared at them for a full second before she answered. "U-uh hi.. I.. I think I might have sprained my ankle. It hurts pretty bad." Her eyes slowly went to the hand he had behind his back and she straightened slowly. Was she in danger? Niiemh didn't have any weapon on her and she currently couldn't really run. Her eyes widened a little and she lifted them back to his face.

Tiam 2/7

He slowed down even more as she answered him. Sprained her ankle? While walking? Was she that clumsy? Then he noticed that she looked at his other hand and he stopped moving forward at all. That put him at about ten feet from her. "What were you doing when you hurt it? I'm apprenticing with a healer so I might be able to help." No way was he getting closer to her until he knew more. Although, the more he looked at her the more she looked like she came from a family that had some money. Nice clothes, silky hair, and her hands didn't seem like they'd seen any hard work.

Nii 3/7

She glanced toward her ankle for a quick second then returned her eyes to him. With a weak smile she lifted her shoulders slightly. "Dancing. I came out here to practice." It had been a good idea at first. She pointed to the rock that had taken her down. "I missed a rock and that's what made me fall."

When he said he was working with a healer she seemed to relax just a little more but didn't look like she wanted to take her eyes off him. "If you want to just toss me a big stick I can use it as a crutch." That would work until she got home. Or if she was lucky then she could run into her brother on the way.

Tiam 3/7

He looked around one more time then took his hand off the knife. If it were a trap they would have sprung it by now, right? He showed her his hands then moved closer so that he could crouch down by her foot. "Sorry if I spooked ya. Old habit.." No way was he going to admit that it was his dad that had taught him that.

"Is it alright if I take a look?" He pointed to her foot and offered a warm smile. "I can tell you if its bad or not."

Nii 4/7

She leaned away from him as he got closer, still looking a little scared of him. However, he did apologize and even asked before he just touched her ankle. Niiemh nodded her head then reached up to tuck her hair back behind an ear. "I don't think it's broken but it hurts pretty bad."

Her gaze was now on her foot as she sat there. "I promise I'm not usually clumsy." She felt slightly embarrassed by the whole thing. Nii was usually a very graceful person.

Tiam 4/7

With the okay to touch her ankle she gently scooped it up in one hand while he pulled her shoe off with the other. From the looks of it her foot seemed to be fine, no swelling. Setting the shoe aside he brought his fingers over the sole of her foot and when she wiggled her toes he smiled. "Well you are right, it's not broke, you can still feel your foot." Tiam then focused on her ankle again, very slowly he made her rotate her foot. The twitch of pain told him she'd pulled something but it wasn't torn. Gently he set her foot back down and went to take off the sash he wore at his waist. Thankfully it didn't hold anything up and was more for looks that anything.

"I think a soak in some cold water and some rest will do just fine. If it swells or you can't stand to have a blanket on it then seek out a healer." He told her. The leg of her pants had to be moved up slowly and he felt a bit awkward doing that but he simply kept his eyes on the ground. With the sash in his hand he started the slow process of wrapping her ankle.

Nii 5/7

Another hiss left her as he touched her ankle but it was more in anticipation of pain that actual pain itself. Her toes moved as he touched her foot and when he told her she'd been right she gave a half laugh. "Well that's good." The rotation hurt a little more but it wasn't unbearable.

"I can soak it when I get home then." She just needed to figure out how to get home. As he wrapped her foot she looked up at the sky. When she did she just so happened to see a shooting star and gave a gasp. "Oh my spirits!" A genuine smile lit up her face and she brought a hand to her chest. "I guess you were meant to find me here. The spirits must have led you."

Tiam 5/7

Her gasp made him stop to see if he'd hurt her but then she said something and he looked up. Tiam noticed she wasn't looking at him or her ankle at all but the sky. He looked up too and then he saw what had caused her reaction. He smirked. "Yeah.. I guess so." Inwardly he figured he must have chosen the right path for himself. If he'd been led to the injured girl then it was a clear sign he was meant to heal others. Or at the very least help them.

He looked back down then finished up with wrapping her ankle. From there he grabbed her shoe and stuck it in his pocket so it wouldn't be left behind. "Alright miss.. lets get you home." He reached out to take her hands. "I'll pull you up but only put your weight on the good foot okay?"

Nii 6/7

She barely felt him finish wrapping her foot so when he stood she blinked then looked at him. Niiemh offered a smile. "Thank you." Then he pocketed her shoe and she tilted her head. "O-oh.." She put her hands in his and nodded her head at his words.

As she was pulled up she made sure to keep her weight off her bad foot. It was easy to do when someone was doing all the lifting, literally. "Ah, I can probably limp home now." A small laugh and she looked at her helper. "Thanks again. I'm Niiemh, and you are?"

Tiam 6/7

He waited long enough for her to get her balance before he put one of her arms over his shoulder. Tiam didn't even hesitate to pick the girl up, holding her in his arms easily. She wasn't all that heavy either. It made him pause long enough to look at her with a furrowed brow. Did she not eat? He remembered his mother had told him that she had been really malnourished when she was younger because she didn't eat. "Nice to meet you Niiemh, I'm Tiam." He adjusted his hold on her a little so that his arms were positioned better as he carried her bridal style.

"Which way do you live? Or should I ask the spirits above to lead the way?" He looked up at the shooting stars. From what he could tell they were leading away from the nearest town so it wasn't likely they would take him in the right direction.

Nii 7/7

When she was picked up she squealed and grabbed hold of the boy for fear of falling. "W-wait.. what are you..?" Then he gave his name and asked her where she lived. The red head felt her face heat up. No one outside of family carried her like that. And even then it was rare. Anymore she was getting too old for being carried or piggyback rides. She cleared her throat and swallowed harshly before she pointed toward the town. "That way.."

She couldn't bring herself to look at Tiam though, so she focused on the stars in the sky as they flew past. They served as a perfect distraction. They were so beautiful. She couldn't help but wonder which spirits they were and what message they held. Were they trying to tell her something?

Tiam 7/7

"I am carrying you so you don't hurt your ankle more." He said simply. When she finally pointed in the direction to go, which he'd figured would be toward the town, he started that way. The entire time he made sure to keep his hands in proper spots. "Besides, this gives you a perfect view of the stars." He glanced up to catch a glimpse of the streaking lights and smiled again.

"I was definitely fated to meet you, Niiemh." The shooting stars were proof of that. Being a healer was going to pay off for him in the future, he could feel it.
