It was, Marialite suspected, going to be an eventful evening again. So many of hers had been, of late, and she couldn't help but be exhausted by the prospect of more of that. Still, it wasn't as if she could just...not do her job, as an officer, and so while she didn't have eyes on any starseeds tonight, she did want to get out and drain some energy.
So she found herself, feet propped up on an unconscious jerk who'd tried to rob the cute girl sitting on a park bench alone and gotten flipped over her shoulder and drained unconscious for his troubles. With the weather still being cold, she'd picked up a hot apple cider from a little cafe on her way out to the park, and she sipped from it, reclining backwards and taking in the park's rather well-maintained landscaping.

Monoceros groaned internally when he ran across that rotten, stinkin' Marialite again on patrol. This really ******** sucked. But this time, he was determined to win, to come back from that... horrible, horrible loss last time, that had cost someone their life. Because he hadn't been good enough. She was sitting with someone and... using them as a footstool? He couldn't help a quiet, amused snort. That was just... so stereotypically evil, it was almost silly! "You again," he said as he approached, knowing there wasn't any real way to catch her off guard right now, "What did this guy do to deserve, such, ah... cruel and unusual punishment?"

Marialite frowned. "Ugh, you," she grumbled, but she also didn't move, because she was going to finish her damn cider before they threw down. Which they almost inevitably would, because this was her nemesis or whatever, and their fated battle would be heard across the ages and blah, blah, blah.
"It's not like he's conscious to know," she said, "and before you ask, he's not dead, I don't want his gross, grubby starseed, I just drained his energy after he tried to rob me while I was sitting here, enjoying my cider." She held up her cup, making a face that was distinctly pouty. "Which, if you make me drop it, I'm gonna drop it on you."

"Ugh, me," he parroted, thinking himself extremely funny. He frowned, though, at her explanation, glancing at the guy again. "Yuck. Wonder if this'll make him stop doing that," he mused, "I don't blame you... Much." He raised his hands in "surrender" (because of course he would not actually let her get away without a fight, eventually) as she gestured with the cup. "How's this, you finish your cider, I'll put this dude a few feet away where we won't hurt him with our battle, and we'll just attack each other like civilized people in a couple minutes?"

"Y'know, I hope he does go home and rethink his entire life," Marialite said. She paused, for a minute, considering Monoceros's offer, and then casually booted her footrest away and dropped her feet onto the ground. "You know what? That sounds good. You move him, I finish this, and then we tango. Violently. With our firsts. Which is not actually how a tango works at all, but whatever."
She took a long drink, and sat back, reclining idly on the bench in a way that she hoped entirely gave off "nah, not now" energy. Because that was her entire feeling on fighting--nah, not now.

He snickered softly at her little joke about tangos, smiling brightly as he lifted the civ over his shoulder. "I can teach you a real tango if you want," he joked, "Though I think your boyfriends might get a tad jealous." He jogged a few yards away and carefully laid the man on the ground, on high alert for any sneak attacks she might try to pull off. Distantly, he did wonder if she meant it, about hoping this guy would go better his life. What an interesting stance from a ruthless murderer. He watched her "kick back and relax", because he was entirely certain she wasn't relaxed at all, and sat quietly on a bench on that far from her, to give her enough time.

Marialite watched him warily as she slowly sipped her cider, getting closer to the end of the cup with each drink. The civilian being out of the way was all well and good--no reason for him to get any more hurt than he already was, and he'd served his purpose as far as she was concerned.
"Eh, I'll pass on the dance lesson. Sweet of you to offer, though," she said. She stayed leaned back, finishing the last of her cup, and then casually pitched it into the nearby trash can before slowly standing up and stretching.
"So, c'mon. Let's dance, Nunya."

Hey, she didn't litter. How nice. He chuckled at the stupid name again, shaking his head slightly. "If you care to know, I'm actually called Monoceros. It's the unicorn constellation," he said as he stood up, planting his feet firmly in a fighting stance. "But you're right, let's put words aside. And Dance Dance Revolution."

"Monoceros. Huh, neat," Marialite said, and then, with no further words, she moved forward, swinging her fist at his face. There was no point in continuing to chit-chat, not when they'd be better served by actually throwing down.
It was, in its way, kind of fun to fight with Monoceros. They'd done it twice now, and she was really starting to feel like, in some way, they were getting to know each other, even if it was just getting to know how hard the other one punched.Amazonite knew that she probably didn't need to be here. Intervening in a battle between an evenly matched Lieutenant and Senshi wasn't something a Captian should have much cause to do. Still, she'd happened to not be far away, and she had a great seat, in one of the park trees. Honestly, she wished she had some kind of popcorn or something, so that she could properly enjoy the spectacle that was these two throwing punches at each other. For the moment, though, she was tucked in the shadows, apparently unnoticed by either of them, so focused were they on each other and on whatever little rivalry they had.
How entertaining. And maybe, if things stareted getting rough for the pretty little Lieutenant, Amazonite could intervene and offer a solution. A fast, bloody, efficient solution, if she had her way.

Monoceros dodged swiftly, swiveling his head at the same moment he brought his foot up and kicked at her shins in an attempt to sweep her off her feet (non-romantically, of course). As his foot connected, he bent backwards to settle on his hands and flip himself out of the way.

Marialite huffed, letting her feet go out from under her and going into a backwards tumble before pushing herself back to her feet. "Oh, honey, I'm a cheerleader." Her voice was bright, but with a tinge of poison, like a honeyed apple that had arsenic dusted on top. "You'll have to work harder than that to get me off balance."
She ran in again, this time aiming a kick for his gut--high, this time, because she did have a regret or two about the shitty little move she'd used to end their last fight. It had been effective, sure, but it wasn't exactly sportsmanlike, and they'd been playing so nice tonight.Amazonite hummed, happily. This was certainly an entertaining exchange, and watching the two of them go at it was just what she needed tonight. She'd been bored, before, wandering around and draining from a civilian here and there, but nothing that really caught and held her interest. So she'd wandered over, following a pair of auras, and now she had something much better to do with her time.
Sure, the responsible thing to do would be to intervene, kill the Senshi, and tell the Lieutenant off for being lazy and inefficient ao0but it. Or maybe capture him, if they could; he wasn't Transcendent, and they could easily get him corrupted. But that wasn't the thing that was going to give her a show for the evening.
Though, corrupting him was still well and on Amazonite's radar. If he put up a good showing in this fight, she might just mark him for later. That would be a worthy outcome of this whole thing.
And so far, she had to admit, she was pretty impressed.

This kick took him a bit by surprise, since he'd assumed she was going for the low blow, and tried to turn to get the kick in the thigh, instead—but only ended up catching a foot on his lower ribs. And ********, that hurt. He hit the ground on one knee and swiftly brought up a hand to cast Quill Flash, moving his hand up as he casted to try and spread the blast slightly, just enough that she hopefully couldn't dodge them all. Noir Songbird Sailor Scout Attack: Quill Flash A burst of porcupine quills flies from Sailor Monoceros's hand, which can cause shallow scratches and/or minor puncture wounds. Any attempt to remove the quills before they vanish will cause sharp, pinpointed pain in the area; however, they don't sink in much deeper than skin-level. A user can choose to have this attack cause permanent damage or the injury will fade when the magic expires. This attack will last 20 seconds and can be used three times per battle.

Marialite went to dodge, but she over-corrected--and, for one, several of the quills hit her directly in the face, but for another, she lost her balance and went down.
s**t. s**t, s**t, s**t. He'd been all fun and games so far, but with her on the floor? With him knowing that she'd killed someone? Would he let her just...walk away?
She was pretty sure that the answer had to be no.Amazonite watched the Lieutenant go down, and sighed. This was it--time for her to step in. No reason to risk someone they already ha don their side, after all. So, she dropped out of the tree, and summoned her deer horn knives to hand, striding forward and twisting one around a finger.
"Well well, what do we have here?" She asked, idly looking between the two of them. "you know, Senshi, I'm pretty impressed by you--but not enough that I'm going to let you keep beating up on this poor Lieutenant. So why don't you back off, and we can end this amicably, and without me cutting your throat open."
A mostly idle threat. He was too interesting to kill. Anyone with magical abilities made for a good potential specimen, and Amazonite hated wasting a good potential specimen.

Monoceros couldn't help a sympathetic wince as his quills hit her in the face—that can't have felt good—though, another part of him hoped it was sufficient revenge for last night's hit she got on him. He stood, rubbing his side and glancing around for a way out—after all, where would he even, like... bring her, if he captured her, for magically murdering a person? As far as he knew, the Order didn't exactly have some kind of prison. But... he also, loathe to admit it, kinda liked her. She was a little bit fun to mess around with, and, well, tonight had certainly proven she had some kind of manners. Maybe... he could talk to her. And maybe that was his stupid, too-hopeful heart speaking. But he couldn't convince himself not to try. He wanted to know why she'd left the Order, what had happened to turn her into a murderer, just... So much. But as he looked around, a ******** Captain stepped over and he paled. Oh, ******** no, no, he was already planning on hightailing it out of here, but this chick appearing cemented it happening a lot faster. "Peace out," he squeaked, fleeing as fast as he could in the total opposite direction.

Amazonite watched the Senshi run, amusement all over her face. She could have caught him, sure, but where was the fun in that? Let him grow and develop a little, and check in later. See if he still held her interest.
She offered a hand to the Lieutenant, pulling her to her feet.
"You did good out there," she said, patting the girl's shoulder. "Take care of your face. I'll see you around." It wasn't as if there was much else for her to do, anyway--so she teleported off, into the night.Marialite winced, taking the Captian's hand and getting to her feet. She gave the woman a nod and a wave, and after the Captian was gone, she glanced over at the still-unconscious civilian. Briefly, she considered pulling his starseed as an act of pure spite, a bit of revenge for her painfully stinging face--but no, that would violate their little parley.
So, she stormed off herself, feeling like an angry raincloud had descended upon her. She would get him. It would just take time.
