It was a gorgeous evening. There was the slightest hint of a breeze that carried the scent of the ocean with it along the cliffs and the reflection of the waning moon shined beautifully on the waters below. Danika had opted to walk along the upper cliffs while other Sisters milled about the area, their whispers carrying here and there throughout the forests of Chiume. Some had reported sightings of falling stars and many had emerged from their homes to witness the rare event. It was almost as if they were being blessed by the Great Trees who were showering them with gifts in their new home. Was this a sign from Aisha? Tears of joy that their races were expanding? Danika smiled at the thought as she walked past another pair of Sisters, their fingers intertwined as they walked side by side along the upper paths. Younger Vandrea raced around their Mothers, their giggles heard between the crashing of the waves on the beaches below. Danika found herself laughing as well whenever she saw the playful younglings darting about the sands, their feet splashing into the shallow waters of the changing tides, their friends giving chase and joining them in anticipation of the great celestial event.
Such an event had to be a blessing surely. Danika greeted other Sisters as they moved along and shook her head slightly to avoid being invited to groups that had gathered together to share snacks with their younglings while watching the celestial event. "Thank you but I must attend to others." She would politely decline before moving along, her gaze seeking a familiar presence. Her daughters surely were already running about with others their age, something that Danika was growing more accustomed to as the girls grew older and more independent, but she was hopeful that she could at least spend time with Vermina tonight. There was no one else that she would rather spend such a lovely evening with after all.

Everyone was talking about the shooting stars. A few had already been marking the dark sky with their glittering trails, attracting the attention of all residing on Chiume. Vermina had managed to wrangle her daughters into remaining with the others before she went to perch along the cliff edge. If she was guessing correctly, Danika would eventually make her way along the path, and she would hopefully be able to nab her darling mystic for a little star gazing. Everyone was sure to want a little time with their leader on such a unique day, but surely some family time would be allowed.
Sighing, she leaned back and let her eyes observe the stars, watching for the mobile ones among the stationary ones that always shimmered every night.

Ah, there was the familiar form! Just when Danika had nearly given up hope she spotted Vermina along the cliffs. "Waiting for someone?" She playfully asked as she walked up towards her partner and peeked around the tree. A slight breeze rustled through the silvery pines and Danika took a moment to just appreciate everything around them. There was one thing that she would always treasure and that was the smell of slender evergreen trees that mingled with the ocean breeze. This truly would be the best place to spectate the stars as they streaked across the skies tonight.

Vermina's face kept facing the sky, but the familiar voice brought a content smile to her lips. "I was. I heard that there is going to be quite the show going on." She turned her head now and gave Danika a grin, her short strands of dreads falling back from her face. "I can't think of anyone else I would rather share this view with. Will you be able to join me now?" She patted the space next to her.

Danika let out a soft chuckle. "I believe I heard something similar myself." She replied before nodding at the invitation and settling down next to Vermina. Nestling close to her lover, Danika let out a soft sigh of contentment. It had been a long day but she was thankful that they could have this moment together. "It's almost nostalgic hanging out along the cliffs like this." She murmured quietly as she remembered one of their first dates away from the rest of the Sisters who had been celebrating a festival on the beaches below in Chibale. Glancing up Danika caught sight of another star streaking across the skies. "It seems the stars are starting to fall more often now. Do you think we should wish upon them like the other Sisters?" What could she even wish for now? Honestly Danika felt like she would be almost greedy to ask for anything else after all of Aisha's blessings in her life.

For a brief moment, Vermina closed her eyes and slipped an arm around Danika's waist. It had been so long since their days of hanging out on the cliffs of Chibale. So much had happened since then! "Do you think our sisters back with Aisha can see them falling as well?" she mused curiously. What would her younger self have thought of the falling stars?
..She would surely have been just as enchanted.
"Well, I think it would be wise to share a couple wishes since the stars have chosen to take the trouble and time visit us." Her life was filled with blessings, but there was always room for a little more, right? "I think we will have to get creative with our wishes," she teased lightly. "There is always more that life can hold for us, but I have difficulty thinking of anything else I could need." She gave Danika's waist a squeeze. "What about you?"

Danika leaned into Vermina and snuggled closer once the arm was wrapped around her waist. "I would love to believe so. Don't we share a similar night sky, after all?" She questioned softly as she watched the skies and kept an eye out for even more falling stars. It was a mystical thing to see the fiery lights falling across the horizon like this and she could only wonder where they went once they disappeared from sight. Did they fall to the earth to be found later like some sort of precious gem? Maybe one day she could find a piece of a star for herself if so...but for now Danika was content to wish upon them as they decorated the night sky.
"I believe you are correct about that. How could I wish for more when all I have is here with me on Chiume?" Danika replied as she squeezed Vermina back in turn. "I never imagined that I could be so blessed like this." She mused lightly as she peeked back towards Vermina. "The most I could wish for is that our daughters don't destroy our home with their shenanigans and that the future stays bright for all of us. Hopefully Azehra can continue producing blooms along with the other great trees so that our kind can continue growing with cousins and sisters alike."

It was a comfort to think she was able to look at the special sky and see at least something similar to to what her aunt was looking at; to what all of her sisters on Chibale were seeing. The sky connected everyone. She appreciated those connections, but the connections here were just as important.
"I feel the same. We are just blessed..." She laughed and shook her head. "It is a worthwhile wish, for certain. I think we will need a few stars to wish upon to keep their destruction in order!" Her gaze shifted over to the direction of Azehra, chewing on her lip curiously. "Well, there might be something... Perhaps one day..?" She smiled playfully and reached her other arm across to take Danika's hand. "Should we share our wishes out loud, or will this only work if we only tell the stars?"

"Perhaps six or maybe seven might do to spare the world from their chaos." Agreed Danika with a laugh. She absolutely adored their daughters but both could definitely be a handful especially now that they were reaching their teens! The mystic studied the skies a moment longer, her smile slowly fading as she realized that something seemed to be on Vermina's mind. Danika squeezed Vermina's fingers lightly as she took her hand and studied her for a moment before musing out loud. "I suppose if it's just between the two of us then the stars shouldn't mind, right?" After all they were connected now and in this world together so any wish of Vermina's would surely be something that Danika could wish for as well. Or at least that was what she hoped. Danika pursed her lips thoughtfully before nodding once more. "Surely it would be acceptable if we whisper it quietly as to keep the wishes to ourselves. What is on your mind?"

Their little girls were troublemakers, for certain. They were getting older though, and becoming fine young Aishans. Vermina missed when they were small... She looked to Danika bashfully and then looked up to wait for a star to cross the sky. "It will be a quiet wish.. but I hope that we will one day.. Danika, wouldn't it be wonderful to share more daughters together?" Her cheeks flushed as her gaze returned back to Danika. "Perhaps daughters from Azehra here?"

Danika tightly clapsed Vermina's hand she listened to the wish. She would be delighted to see their family grow if Aisha so desired. Danika opened her mouth to say so, her expression warm and supportive before the next statement caused her to hesitate. Daughters from Azehra? If she was any other Alkidike then surely they could but....could she receive such a blessing from a tree other than Aisha? Danika found herself frowning thoughtfully as she pondered the idea. Vermina surely had taken courage to bring up such a wish and Danika did not wish to upset her yet she didn't wish to lie either. "I would love more daughters, truly." She began quietly as she turned her focus fully on Vermina and away from the falling stars. "Do you think Aisha would be accepting if her mystic asked for new blooms here?" She was afraid that she had already been greatly blessed with her family, a rare thing for many mystics, but how would Aisha react if she asked for more and with Azehra? Yet her own words seemingly haunted her mind. Weren't they all daughters of the Great Mother despite their appearances? Azehra was from Aisha's own seed after all just like the rest. So what did it matter if her next blooms came from Chiume instead? She would love all of her daughters the same as she knew Vermina would too.
Maybe this was also Aisha's will? Honestly Danika wasn't certain but she knew one thing. The Great Mother was always full of love for her daughters and Danika strongly believed that Aisha wanted her children to find happiness and peace in this world. So what harm would a wish do? It was up to Aisha and Azehra to grant their request. Danika and Vermina couldn't force the trees to bloom for them. They were blessings that would be given if fate and the Great Trees so allowed. Danika smiled at the thought before nodding towards Vermina. "Who am I to say what can or cannot happen? I suppose our wish will be up for the stars and the great trees to decide. This situation has never happened in our histories before so I will leave such a blessing up to fate. Either way I know I will deeply love our family and any blessings no matter what."

Vermina seemed to brace herself, wondering how Danika might take the wish. After all, Danika was Aisha's mystic. Would she even be comfortable asking such a thing? When that very question was posed to her, she hesitated before smiling lightly. "I like to believe.. that she would be happy that you wish to share in her joy of having daughters here." Surely that would be okay... but it was ultimately out of their hands.
As Danika opened up to the thought, Vermina smiled and nodded back. "If they decide our family should remain as it is, I will be happy. If they feel it is time for change.. I will be ready to embrace it whenever it comes. All we can do is ask, right?" She looked back up to the sky with a grin. "Let us wish on the stars so that Aisha will hear, and ask Azehra for her blessing should Aisha approve. Surely the stars appearing here and now are a sign."

Danika felt her heart tighten whenever Vermina's words reflected her own feelings. She believed as Vermina did. They could only leave such matters up to Aisha and Azehra to decide. She just hoped that their pure wishes could be heard tonight under the stars and that there was a possibility that there could be such a blessing in their near future. If so would she linger in Chiume for a bit longer? Perhaps so. Either way they would figure things no matter what came their way next. "It appears we are in agreement then." She replied finally with a soft laugh before wrapping both of her arms around Vermina. "Do you think it would be asking too much if we also asked for our home to stay intact if we do receive more daughters?" She found herself teasing to try and lighten the mood lingering around them as she prepared to curl up next to Vermina to enjoy the rest of the meteor shower. There was no need in worrying now after all. Tonight was a beautiful event to be enjoyed and for them to wish upon not stress under.

Her belly squirmed with emotions. Vermina was relieved to know her wishes were shared. Perhaps with the both of them praying with the power of the stars.. perhaps if daughters of Azehra were deemed out of their reach, perhaps Aisha herself would call them back to Chibale with blossoms some day! ..Perhaps that was a stretch, but it was still a tantalizing thought. What would Faenna and Briallen think of getting sisters in the Vandrea?
She shouldn't let her heart get ahead of reality... Danika's question brought her back to the present and she laughed lightly in return. "Perhaps this is why we are here. Aisha may have needed some assistance from her daughter in supporting our family." She laughed again and snuggled into Danika's embrace, a hopeful expression lifting to the meteors above. The shower of stars was a good sign, for their family and the entire Alkidike race.. She just knew it.
