Day # 002 Theme: Loyalty Time spent: 25mins + (Like I checked/counted for 25, then kept adding bits while catching up the thread!) Comments: There's a folklore story about a warrior & his most loyal faithful guard/hunting hound. One day he came home & the dog happily ran out to greet him, with blood around his muzzle. Fearing the worst he ran in & discovered his child's cradle overturned and no sign of the babe in it and furniture & belongings destroyed and blood on the rug. Thinking his faithful loyal hound had killed and eaten his child, the warrior took his sword and ran his hound through. As his dog gave a dying yelp, the warrior heard his child crying. He found the child and the dead body of a wolf under/behind the cradle. It turned out his dog had been loyal and had fought off the wolf to save the child. The warrior was broken-hearted at his actions and the betrayal he had shown his hound and never smiled again. He buried the hound with full warrior honour etc and often wept at this grave. I remember this being a welsh folklore, but I did find out there are versions of it in many cultures - often with a hound, but also with another animal (hello india with a snake & a mongoose?)

Day # 006 Theme: Peacock Time spent: 1hr + Comments: Was going to do a henna style design just in gold...but I have these colouring pencils that are able to be used on black and white paper AND some metallic colouring pencils so decided to colour in the peacock underneath!

Day # 11 Theme: Lemon Time spent: 1hr? Comments: first tried pure (jif) lemon juice to paint little lemons & write the chorus I wonder how, I wonder why around the edge. Tucked in my bed on the electric blanket, also tried the radiator and it is currently sitting in my desk lamp... Didn't work so took out the watercolours & did the above! Also the liquid in the top right corner is the last attempt to paint a lemon using lemon juice...mostly just to use it up! rolleyes

Day # 14 Theme: Owl Time spent: 30-40mins Comments: got my drawing hand ravaged by a cat yesterday evening...so we'll see how drawing goes... (well not ravaged but painful - 2 puncture wounds & probably a hell of a bruise or sprain or something) Going to have to get a tetanus shot too as mine is out of date...last May :sweat : xd So Owls! Also saw a sweet embroidery owl on google so it totally became my personification of Winter!
