Now, imagine you found a cute little shop with a sweet grandmother selling cookies from a recipe passed down for generations. She was warm and friendly, and very good at selling her cookies. They look normal, taste normal--except when you take a bite, for a few seconds, your vision fades and is replaced by a glorious view. You're at the top of a mountain, watching the sun rise above the clouds. The sunset is beautiful and soft, and you can't even feel the absolutely frigid air despite the snowcapped mountains all around you. There is something otherworldly and timeless about the location, and even in the dark of winter it has the ability to fill you with some unshakeable hope. When you swallow, the illusion rapidly fades, and no subsequent bites guarantee any further illusion--but, maybe if you eat enough, you'll eventually find that magical bite again... A quiet stillness had settled in the area, snow left undisturbed from another full day of blizzards and flurries save for the path Acrucis had just walked. in her arms she held a soft white rabbit; its long ears laid flat against its back seemingly content to be near something, or someone, warm. Work had been long and stressful. Too many people had come into the ER from vehicle-related injuries due to car accidents. Most were manageable, bumps and scrapes that would take a few days to heal but there were a few really bad ones that came in today and when Hannah's shift ended at least four adults and one child was still held in the ICU with critical conditions. As a Senshi of Prayer, of healing, it was difficult for her to walk away. To not try to find a way into the Hospital to use her magic and try to save at least one of them. But there were video cameras and monitor, there was no way for her to get inside. Instead, she had absently wandered down the street. It was the holidays and even with her magic, she felt so powerless at times. However, the kindness of one old woman with fresh chocolate mint cookie managed to cut through the veil of her foggy mind and convinced her to buy one of these decadent treats. Hannah hadn't really been in the mind to argue or politely decline and instead pulled out her wallet and bought a small bag of five. That was several hours ago, but with an empty home and nobody to return to, Acrucis stowed the treats in her subspace pocket and just patrolled the area for a short while before considering perhaps her time would be better spent on her homeworld instead. "I wonder if I can take you with me..." The rabbit's dark beady eyes blinked up at her and she smiled down at it ruefully. "Probably not." She wasn't entirely sure if the plants on her world would be edible and would be concerned if the little one got away.

The Royal Knight was fully powered up this evening, instead of walking around in his third stage to blend in a bit better. It was not a show of authority, or to drive the negaverse away, but rather so his aura could stand out a bit more as a beacon to any White Moon soldier that wanted to come toward it. He did have a bag of gifts to hand out, after all, though he doubted many senshi knew that. Just the knights that had responded to his message, and were out giving the little 'keep warm' survival kits out, as well. He felt an aura nearby and opted to head toward it, instead. It couldn't hurt, as he could not just assume the presents would hand themselves out. Anyway, he was wearing this santa hat for a reason, and wanted to personally provide some relief to those out patrolling in this cold weather. "Good evening!" he called, noticing the little white thing in her hands. Those little rabbits seemed to be everywhere... but they weren't causing any trouble just yet, so it was probably not an issue to worry about. A thought which he did not believe even as it entered his head, as he knew almost everything in Destiny City was something to worry about.

Acrucis was visibly startled when a powerful aura entered her sensing range. The rabbit seemed to sense her sudden attentiveness and squirmed in her arms. However, it settled down once she was able to relax just a bit. Thankfully the aura didn't belong to a General King, or Queen, and was friendly; at least she hoped the person it belonged to was. To her, it felt like a warm beacon of hope like a lighthouse on the edge of a cliff beckoning weary travelers near with promises of safety and kindness. Perhaps it was wrong of her to impress those feelings onto them, however, when the tall man came into sight, the Senshi of Prayer couldn't help but smile. "Hello," she replied in kind and waived her free hand. Snow crunched beneath her boots as she walked towards the man who reminded her of a younger Saint Nick with the Santa hat he wore. For all the years she had been a Senshi, Acrucis had never really had the pleasure of meeting the Lord Knight whose strength compared to Princess Ganymede or Prince Castors. Honestly, she had only heard of him in passing a few times but over the past few years, her priorities were focused on her civilian duties and so she really didn't have the opportunity to seek him out. Until now it seemed. "What brings you out this evening?"

"Well, I was doing a bit of patrolling, and hoping to run into others who were doing the same. I'm Camelot, by the way, at your service." He chuckled and bowed his head, a long time habit for the old chivalrous knight. He considered his position one of servitude, regardless of his title, and he used the power he gained in the pursuit of helping those that needed it. In life and death battles or, in this case, because it was a little cold out. "Here, I've brought you a present!" Bringing the bag he was carrying forward, he dug into it and pulled out a small box. It was wrapped in shimmery foil paper with snowflakes on it, though he had to use a lot of different kinds of paper to cover all the boxes he made, and some of them were a little less pretty. Or seasonally appropriate. He was trying to give the ones that made sense out first, though, just in case he had left overs and did not have to explain the corgi's in swimsuits and floaties. He held the present out to her, smile as warm as could be. Inside were simple little things, like hand warmers that activated with some pressure, gloves, a scarf, a paperback book of varying topics, and a packet of hot cocoa if one could find some hot water or milk for it. There were a few other random items in each one, as he tried to make them unique, of whatever he could think would help a night of patrol go better in the cold of winter. "That is, if your little friend there doesn't mind."

Acrucis looked genuinely surprised when he held out a small wrapped gift box. "You are incredibly kind," she glanced down at the rabbit and pet its ears once more before setting it back down in the snow. It looked up, almost expecting to be held again but when it became clear that it was time to part ways, it turned and hopped away to find shelter beneath the cold white blanket that surrounded them. "Thank you," the Senshi of Prayer accepted the gift and with careful fingers, she removed the beautiful foil paper. Inside was a solid purple scarf, simple in design but incredibly soft to the touch. "This is perfect," Acrucis looked up at him and although she wore a smile there was a touch of sadness in her deep blue eyes. "Just when my faith begins to waiver, someone like you shows up to remind me there is still good in this world." With a motion of her hand, she opened her subspace pocket and pulled from it the deserts she purchased from the older woman earlier. "It's not much, but... would you care to share these with me?"

Camelot was all too happy to offer a small comfort to others whenever he could. Even if it was just a gesture or a kind word or, in this case, a small present. He wanted to help others that needed him in whatever capacity, whatever amount, that he could. That was his duty as a knight, and one that had been inside him long before he ever awakened to that title. And really, if he were honest, handing out presents was a lot easier than saving someone in battle. Hurt a lot less, too, minus the paper cuts. He was surprised by her words, though, realizing just how much a simple gesture could mean to someone, when they needed it the most. He smiled softly, nodding his head and watching as she offered him a candy of some kind. He was not notorious for his sweet tooth, but he also could never say no to food. Maybe he'd been hanging out with Hadaya too much. "That's very nice of you, thank you! I am always hungry, when patrolling. Ah... I'm sorry to hear you faith was wavering, by the way. Is that something you'd care to talk about?" he never meant to pry, but he could not help but be curious. And maybe he wanted to see what more he could do for her, not missing that sad look in her eyes.
