On the outskirts of Tanigakure, on a fairly large plot of land, about twenty acres, rests a collection of elaborately designed buildings. The largest, the main house is an approximately 5000sqft home standing two stories high, with windows near the ground floor suggesting at least one level of basement spanning the entire floor plan. The house contains 5 bedrooms, the largest by far being the master suite with its private bathroom and large walk in closets. The sitting room is large and well furnished, centered around a brick mantle and large open fireplace. Visible from the sitting room is a good sized kitchen with all the amenities needed to prepare meals. Off to the side lies the staircases both up to the second floor, where most of the bedrooms are, and down to the basement. In the basement, you’ll find a few casks of wine, along with several empty ones that open easily for good hiding places if needed.
Beyond the main house, there’s a couple smaller houses of between one and three bedrooms, each with their own kitchens and all the essentials, in case family ever needs a place to stay as well as one sturdily built building that houses Shintoru’s workshop and private medical/ chemistry labs, where he can freely work on whatever medical experiments he wishes without pesky questions from any village higher ups. Nearest the gates of the estate is a small stable, housing a couple horses for ease of quick travel to the village or wherever else.
Surrounding the buildings, covering most of the property is a forest of oaks, pines, cedars,and several other plants, with a clearing in the far back of the property where Shin tends to practice with his bloodline techniques and general taijutsu and bukijutsu.

*flashback to Shin in his run down old apartment* Shin had just moved to Tani from Konoha and started his job at the local hospital. It was a long day and his stomach was growling like crazy. There was just one problem, Shin didn’t really know how to cook beyond the absolute most basic of subsistence food. After going to the store and getting a bunch of ingredients, Shin stood in his small apartment kitchen just kind of staring at everything. “What the hell do I make?” He asked himself as he moved stuff around to look at everything.he had a big bag of dry rice, lots of different kinds of veggies, some simple spices and herbs,and of course a bit of meat.”Well, rice is a given, that’s pretty much the bulk of my meals... this meat was kind of expensive , so maybe I should avoid using that up too quick.” He would continue thinking aloud, talking to himself within the solitary apartment. Sometimes he wished he could’ve convinced a friend or someone to come with him when he left the hidden leaf,if for no other reason than to not be as alone. Putting the meat in his refrigerator, he would go about storing most of what he’d bought for later days.once that was done, Shin would grab some zucchini and an onion and start chopping them up. With that done, he’d toss a small wok on his little stove and add some oil, getting that heated up. Once it was sizzling, he would throw in the veggies he had prepared along with a clove of garlic and a few slices of ginger root. While that was cooking, Shin pushing the stuff around in the wok with his chopsticks to keep anything from burning on one side, he would get a little pot of water boiling for rice. With the rice boiling, Shin would continue stirring the veggies , tossing them around in the wok as he thought of something that might help this small meal be a bit more satisfying.remembering some peanuts and cashews he’d gotten as a snack the day before that he hadn’t finished yet, he grabbed the bag and threw in a handful of the mixed nuts. “There we go... it isn’t much, but the little protein and fat should help me stay full a bit longer..” once the rice was finished, he would grab his bowl and dump it in, dropping the pan fried veggies and nuts on top. His meal ready, the young doctor would leave the kitchen and sit with his chopsticks to chow down. *end flashback*
*flash forward a couple months, still in the rundown apartment, now better furnished and decorated* Shin was milling about in his kitchen after another day at work.he had begun his own private practice part time now out side the hospital work and was glad to be getting to know people around the village a bit. As he pulled out some leftover rice from the day before, his mind wandered a bit to the local pharmacist he’d met earlier. Oddly the family of the pharmacist also ran adjoining flower shops and mortuary. “Hell of a combo, seeking them medicine to help them live healthier, then selling their family the service for their funeral and stuff when they died” he’d chuckle to himself as he chopped veggies. He was planning to make some stir fry today. Luckily he had planned ahead for it and made extra rice the day before, since it was kind of a pain after a long day at work to make rice, wait for it to cool, then finish cooking. Putting his wok on the stove and getting the oil hot, Shin would throw in a few cloves of garlic,a couple slices of ginger, and a bit of sesame oil and let that all cook for a bit. While the initial seasoning was heating up, Shin would finish chopping up his broccoli, onions, and carrot, adding some peas to the bowl he was using to hold the raw vegetables he was gonna use. With that done, he’d pull out a piece of pork from his fridge and start chopping that up into bite sized chunks. About the time the pork was chopped up, he would smell that the stuff in the wok was ready and that it was time to add the veggies. Dumping in the bowl of veggies, Shin would stir them around with his chopsticks as they started to cook. He would slowly add small amounts of water too in order to steam the broccoli until it was tender, making sure that the rest of the water was able to evaporate off so the rice wouldn’t be too wet later. Once the veggies were cooked, Shin would toss in the meat, adding a bit of soy sauce afterwards to add to the taste of the pork. Pushing everything around a bit longer as he waited for the pork to cook, Shin would let his mind wander a bit more, “wonder what made that family wanna open so many different kinds of businesses?” He’d think out loud to nobody, somewhat wondering when he would be forced to come into contact with the more morbid aspects of that family business. Smelling that the pork was about cooked through, Shin would dump the cold rice into the wok and mix everything up. Slowly the rice would brown and loosened up as he stirred, occassionally trying to use the wok to flip the rice. More often finding himself grateful for his hyuuga reflexes when he’d almost dump his dinner all over the kitchen counter, but manage to save it.after a bit, the rice appeared done, so Shin scooped some into his bowl before storing the leftovers for the next day’s lunch. Walking out to his living room, he would have a seat on his couch and prop his feet up on a little table as he began to eat. *end flashback*
*flash forward another few months, Shin’s apartment is fixed up and furnished/ decorated fairly nicely* Normally, today would’ve been Shin’s day off, but he had recently started helping out over at the Whispering Willow with the embalming and helping with creating replica skeletons for bodies that the families wanted to cremate. As Shin started getting his supplies and stuff out, he would think through what he had learned about the Zetsumei family, and the surprising abilities that some of them had. “So... a clan of necromancers originally from the land of iron... I guess they picked the right kind of business to collect the cadavers they need without drawing much attention.” He’d chuckle to himself as he activated his byakugan, having figured out how useful it could be for cooking and prepping stuff at the same time. He had a pot of stock and coconut milk bubbling on the stove as he was choppinip potato’s, peppers, onions and broccoli, throwing all the veggies into one bowl. In the oven he had a whole chicken roasting seasoned with rosemary, thyme, sage, and a few other herbs that he was going to break down once that was done. He then had several crushed and ground spices along with fresh ones lying out that he was slowly adding to the pot. Once the chicken was done roasting, he pulled it out and went to work, pulling a spare scalpel out to carve the meat away like nothing. He had gotten so good with the scalpel that he never once felt it bump or even touch a bone as he was pulling away sheets of the meat off the bone. Once the chicken was fully broken down, he would take a moment to tear it to shreds before adding it and the veggies to the simmering pot. Then he would add in the curry powder, turmeric,extra garlic,and several other spices to make a hearty curry. Once everything was in the pot and simmering away, he would get some rice cooking before leaning back against his kitchen counter to day dream for a bit.he had been slowly getting to know the eldest daughter of the family he was working for, Maemi. At first she was all business, seeming almost kind of cold, whether it was her usual demeanor or just towards him being the new help, he wasn’t sure. But one thing he knew for sure was that she was beautiful, especially in the small moments where he could get her to smile or laugh or something. He couldn’t help feeling his face warm slightly thinking more about her than the actual work they were doing together.even if she ended up wanting to keep everything between them strictly business, he was enjoying the time in her company.it was just nice to have a friend if nothing else. Once his rice was done, Shin would add the rice to his bowl, leaving some for the next day if he wanted a bit of fried rice, and ladle the heavy curry on top. Quickly he’d grab a piece of naan and lay it over the top of the bowl, holding the steam in that he knew would make a pleasant fragrance bomb as well as incorporate some of the flavor into the underside of the bread when he pushed through it for a bite. Taking a seat on his couch, he would pop the curry bread bomb and take a deep breath before enjoying his dinner, *end flashback*
Waking up in his bed, Shin would hop up and get dressed quickly. It had been a month since the attack on Tanigakure by the combined forces of yohkai and samurai in which his mom’s clan’s blood curse awoke in him.once he recovered from the physical drain the curse had hit him with, he started researching all he could about it. He learned that the draining after effects only occurred if he tapped into the full power of the mark, but not if he only activated the basic level of it. He was also concerned with the apparent insanity that overcame him during the battle when the curse mark took over. As he read, he found that the mark was placed on his clan’s ancestor by the evil god Jashin, which seemed to explain the psychotic thirst for blood he had during the battle. Now that he had some understanding of how the curse mark worked and where it came from, Shin had spent the last few weeks training to be able to keep his normal mind in the forefront at lesast while using the activated curse mark, though could still feel the madness creep up in him when he tried to fully unleash the power. As he developed his understanding of the Kaguya clan blood curse, he had become more curious about the Hyuuga abilities as well. He’d gotten ahold of the Hyuuga Gentle fist style scrolls years ago and learned the style well, but what he found now was a new power well beyond the byakugan that he had the potential to unlock. He wasn’t at the point of figuring it out yet, but he was kind of glad to have something that could maybe help him balance out the madness of the blood orchid curse mark eventually.
He had tried to spend as much time as he could with his fiancée Maemi, but with battle injuries, his own fall out from the curse mark, and all the clan research and training he’d been doing, he sadly hadn’t seen much of her in recent weeks. Both of them had just been busy. Him with the researching of his clan’s, along with managing and treating patients and learning to better control the curse mark he now had. Maemi and her family had been swamped with cleaning up the corpses of the samurai army, which had been slaughtered to the last man. Shin chuckled slightly as he imagined his future in-laws and wife happily collecting and treating the bodies of actual trained warriors for once instead of the elderly, sick and in general civilian population they had mostly collected over the years.
Sadly, with all the insanity of the battle and clean up afterwards, Shin and Maemi had yet to be able to inform his mother back in Konoha about their engagement like they had planned before the attack. Having made a killing off all the work in the past month, Shin was relaxing on his day off in the living room of his now rather large estate, reading through some of his medical books like the massive nerd he was as he looked up diagnostics and treatment options for some weird rare condition he would probably never encounter.

Entered into their home, Maemi was still working on getting used to the stillness of this place. It wasn't like her birth home that was for sure, which was full, chatty, and family. Here it was... just her and Shin. And hopefully a maid and a cook eventually. Seeing Shin on the couch, she basically walked up to him and plopped on top of him. Four thousand bodies. They had their work cut out for them that was for sure, everyone was on hand even Miyabita had to learn a thing or two about prepping the body for whatever. She just hopes that the Land of Iron people won't come looking for their family bodies cause they are gone now.
"Did you get me any presents yet?" Maemi questioned towards Shin. She adores gifts, specifically jewelry and clothes. However, she's been bugging him for months (okay it was a month) for private hot springs at their very home.

“Ooff...” Shin would grunt as Maemi landed in his lap, surprising him. Setting his book aside, he’d wrap an arm around her waist, his hand resting on her hip as the other fell to her knee. “Well hey there,gorgeous,” he’d say with a slight chuckle, smiling. “Well... I did talk to a guy about making some additions to the property.... but as for what those are... you might just have to be patient to find out...” Shin’s hand would start to kind of absentmindedly rub along her thigh as he chuckled, giving her a teasing smirk. After a few minutes, Shin’s eyebrows would rise slightly as he remembered something he had bought a couple weeks previously, but hadn’t had the time with Maemi to actually give her. “However... I did get you this a little while back, but we’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to give it to you...” he would reach into his pocket and remove a small box. He would quickly flip the lid open with his thumb and hold it around to be more in front of her. Maemi would see a small gold ring with a heart shaped emerald set in the middle, flanked by small diamonds, none of the stones were particularly large,but he hoped she would be happy with his attempt at getting her a nice engagement ring. “I hope you like it... I’ll admit I don’t really know much about Jewelry and stuff...”

Maemi has a grin on her face when he called her gorgeous. She certainly hopes that the compliments will always be there even when they get married. New additions to the house? Does this mean a maid and a cook or perhaps even both in one package? She felt him shift around as he mentioned that he did get her something as her eyes light up, she was ready to find out what it was. Seeing the box, she squealed slightly, it was going to be jewelry for sure! But what kind? A gasp of awe escaped from her lips as she saw the ring. Without missing a beat, she snatched the ring and put it on! She was not expecting this, while the women in her family definitely had jewelry, none of them had the whole western idea of wedding rings. Maemi, however, loves it. It means more jewelry for her. "It's so beautiful!" Maemi was in awe at its beauty. Completely fixated, she keeps staring at the ring by having her hand in front of her.

Shin smiled happily seeing Maemi’s reaction to the ring, chuckling softly as she sat there staring at it on her finger, “I’m glad you like it, sweetheart.I tried to find something nice that wouldn’t be overly flashy. As for the other stuff...” Shin would glance out the window where some construction workers were walking past. A minute or so later, a man in a hard hat would come in, wiping his forehead with a rag, “Well, Shintoru-Sensei work’s all done and me and the boys got the area all cleaned up and ready for use.” shin would nod slightly before responding, “Great, thank you! I already sent payment over to your boss earlier so we’re all squared away.” The guy would then turn and leave the house, him and his crew heading away from the property. Shin would slide his arm under Maemi’s knees quickly as he stood up, holding her bridal style as he walked towards the back of the house. Thankfully the workers had left the interior door slightly open before they left by the side door that led outside into the yard.
Shin would step down the couple steps to a wooden patio that had a large stone and earth pool in the middle full of steaming water. The enclosure around it had regular walls from the house up to about half way to the pool, then the rest of the side walls, the back wall, and the roof of the area were all made of apparently glass. The couple would feel the spike in humidity and smell the sulphur and other minerals in the water. Setting his fiancée on her feet in front of him, Shin would wrap his arms around her from behind, “There you go, love... even had them build the room out of sturdy glass so we can watch the stars amd the forest while we relax ...”

Maemi was still looking at the ring and she heard him mentioned that he tried to find something that wasn't overly flashy. It took Maemi all she had not to make a comment of how she loves flashy things but she supposed he had a point. She embalms and deals with the dead and not to mention, take care of a garden for a living. The bigger the ring, the more likely it could get damaged. Maemi supposed that this ring was perfect for them. Her eyebrow rose when he said other stuff. "You mean you got me more gifts?!" Maemi exclaimed. She followed his gaze outside and blinked when she saw that there were some people outside. How did she miss that? One of them walked in as she grimaced, her eyes giving the man daggers for having the nerve to walk into their perfectly beautiful home with his tainted and dirty shoes. He left and Maemi had already forgotten about the other gift. Before she could b***h about the dirt, he scooped Maemi up. "Hey. We aren't married yet, silly." Maemi laughed at the way he was holding her. They were going to the back of the house as she was trying to figure out why they were going to the back of the house. Did Shin expand the house some more? Her eyes widen at the new gift as her arm was still holding his. He moved behind her and hugged her from behind as she placed her arms on top of his. "Are you serious?!" She said, with excitement. With a laugh and sideways kiss to his lips, "You do know how to make a woman happy." With a smirk, she started to undress, rather slowly to tease Shin. Folded the clothes and jewelry on top of it, even the ring because she wasn't sure how it would effect the ring, she dipped into the hot springs and just like that, all the stress and worries just floated away. "Are you coming in," purred Maemi.

Shin would chuckle at Maemi’s reaction to how he had picked her up smiling softly at her excitement at the private hot spring before craning his neck to return her kiss. Then she stepped away from him and started undressing and Shin’s eyes widened slightly for a split second as she teased him slightly by moving slowly as she stripped down. As Maemi stepped in and sank into the water, shin lamented the loss of his full body view of her until he heard the tone in her voice. “Of course,love, I just thought I’d enjoy that little show you put on first.” He’d say with a smirk, feeling as if his pants had shrunk a size or two suddenly. Pulling off his usual tunic and undershirt, Shin would give her a good look at his muscles as he did so before removing his pants and stepping into the hot spring.with a sigh,Shin relaxed for a moment in the hot water, feeling the tension melt out of his every muscle.... well, all but one. “As for knowing how to make a woman happy, I’m not sure I know what I’m doing, but I try my best.” He’d say, raising an eyebrow as he put an arm around her, leaning in for another kiss. When he broke away, he’d chuckle slightly, “I am glad you like it though, both the ring and this little addition to the house.””

Hearing his comment she rolled her eyes at him. Of course, he would want to watch the show that she put on first. It also, in its own strange perverted way, made her feel better. He enjoyed it, which means he enjoys her body. So she was in good shape. Over the last two weeks, Shin may have taken a bit of notice of how careful she was around food. Luckily, her job wasn't just embalming the dead or taking care of the garden, she also trained with her family. So she was able to burn off whatever she had eaten that day. Maemi also watched Shin as he gets undressed and enjoys the view. Her eyebrow rose at the soldier's attention. Tempting but she would much rather relax. That can be taken care of at another time. His arm slipped around her, "Relax! Just be you. We are adults, we should be able to tell one another if something upset one of us and we'll take care of it, as relationships should be." Her father and mother weren't in love with each other like Shin and Maemi did but they came to love and respect each other in their own ... relationship way. Maemi just happened to be lucky to fall in love with a rich medic that would help their family business."I love them both! Now, I know that little show I put on earlier excited you but let's relax for now. We'll take care of your problem later." Maemi smirked.

Shin would try to relax as he listened to what Maemi said, but that one part of him just wouldn’t chill. Out of respect for her, and not wanting to potentially risk his relationship both personally and professionally, with her father and family, he had avoided making any sort of strong sexual advances even when Maemi chose to move into the house with him and share his bed. For the past couple weeks it hadn’t been as bad, since both of them were super busy with work and stuff so by the time they got home they really just wanted to sleep, even forgetting to eat dinner a few times. But that little strip show she had given him a minute ago, she really wasn’t making things any easier for him. When she smirked at him and said they would take care of his problem later, Shin’s mouth dropped a bit for a second as he looked at her. “You serious? But what about the whole ‘we aren’t married yet’ thing... or your famil-“ he cut off when part of his brain screamed at him to shut the hell up before he talks his way out of probably a sure thing that he’d basically been teased with for weeks now. Mentally shrugging it off, he would lightly drag his fingers up her spine with the arm he had around her waist as they had sat there before cupping the back of her head and pulling her in for a deep kiss. A few seconds later, he pulled away and slid his arm out from behind her, chuckling softly. “Well, if it has to wait a bit... give me a minute... need to redirect some blood flow.” Shin would slide from the little seat-like ledge they were on into the main part of the pool, which had been designed to slope gradually to a max depth of about eight feet towards the center, but was probably around four and a half feet deep right past where the seats were.diving into the water, Shin would start paddling fast and smooth, not kicking up a lot of water as he swam back and forth across the large pool about a dozen times before coming back up to the surface near Maemi, breathing slightly heavier, but his body overall calmer as he slid back into the seat next to Maemi and put his arm around her shoulders. Sighing slightly as he was finally able to relax better into the spring. A few minutes later, something came to mind that he had noticed the past few weeks along with something she had said before. “Hey Maemi... was wondering... how come you’re always so careful when we eat? I mean, it seems like every meal you get kinda anxious.... ?” He’d say calmly, trying to not set her off into getting defensive about it. “I remember the day before we got engaged, you said being overweight was like your worst nightmare... but I thought you were joking....” he would turn his head sideways to look at her with a sort of quizzical look, but he was also slightly concerned for her and her health. He didn’t want her to avoid eating out of fear and end up unhealthy because of it.

Maemi looked at Shin a bit in shocked as she smiled warmly. It was sweet of him to worry about the whole waiting until marriage thing. Honestly, it was her family's idea, not really hers. "What they don't know, won't hurt them," whispered Maemi. Shivers went down her spine as his hand went up her back and cupped the back of her head for a kiss as she raised a hand to cup his cheek, returning the kiss. He pulled away first as Maemi pouted slightly and chuckled after hearing his explanation that he needed to have blood flowing in other places. While he went to do his little exercise, Maemi's head rested back onto the ground while she looked up at the sky above. Maybe she should wait after all, at least until she meets his mother. Speaking of that, now that their jobs had slow down, perhaps it was time to meet the leader, Usagi and request permission to go to Konohagakure so that they may meet Shin's mom. Nervous once again, she wondered what his mother would think of her. Maybe she should dress fully? Be a bit more respectful? Her focus was broken and pulled away when Shin slipped his arm underneath her neck and around her shoulders. Her head slightly tilted to rest on his shoulders as she closed his eyes. The silence was broken as Shin asked her a question. Looked confused, she shook her head. "Yes being overweight is my worst nightmare but really it's portion control! I make sure to eat extra depending how hard I work that day or less if I don't work as much. Protein.. vegetables.. fruits.. honestly, with you being a doctor, I didn't think you would had a problem with this?" Maemi questioned, her eyebrow rose towards him.

When Maemi said that the celibacy til marriage thing was more her family’s idea than hers and what they didn’t know wouldn’t hurt them, Shin felt even more blood rush right to where he needed it to get away from . Thankfully his swimming idea still worked. Smiling to himself as he rested with Maemi’s head on his shoulder, he’d pick his head up to look her in the eye as she explained her actual fear of becoming overweight. And her ideas with portion control.when he saw her raise an eyebrow at him over that question, Shin would smile warmly and nod slightly, “Alright... like you said, I’m a doctor... I just wanted to make sure you weren’t gonna restrict yourself to the point of being unhealthy... Anorexia nervosa kills just as much as morbid obesity, and I’d hate to see you have the problems associated with going too far either way.” Shin would give her a slight squeeze before kissing her lightly on the forehead. “You seemed like you had somethin on your mind a minute ago.... everything ok?” He’d ask as he looked her over, unable to help admiring her beauty and questioning slightly how he managed to get her to be with him. He knew the whole good for the business thing with her family, but he doubted he was the only person around that could’ve fit that bill.b

Hearing his comment as he slightly squeezed her and placed his firm lips on her forehead. It was then the young woman understood his point. He wasn't wrong, "True. Though both obesity and anorexia corpses are both hard to embalm or remove organs, and so on forth. Odd how the human body works sometimes," mused Maemi. She nodded if she was okay. "Of course, just wondering when we should go meet Usagi to ask permission to go see your mom." With a content sigh, she was rather happy. At least the guy she was going to marry was good looking, but then again, it seemed her family had good luck with that. Score one for Maemi but score a few for Shin. Getting this house, though it's quiet, it's rather lovely. The private hot springs and of course, her ring. Her thumb absentmindedly stroke the ring finger where the ring would be as she slightly pouted, unable to wear it cause she was not going to damage that thing. No way whatsoever. She would surely have the corpse of whoever dares to put a scratch on her ring. "We could go see Usagi tomorrow morning and start the preparations to see your mom tomorrow," suggested Maemi.
