[Enya ll 1]
There was little more that little Enya loved than playing in the water. Under supervision she could splash around as much as she wanted and it seemed the little Elidae couldn't keep from getting covered in mud, reeds, or something just as icky by the days end. Not that she cared; everyday was an adventure for her, and her smiles were never ending.
Most days she spent clung to her twin's side, but today was special. A little one on one trip with Pyrrha to the riverlands. Tall grass, bigger than Enya in spots, cropped up around the water's edge, and it was those that they were here specifically to get. Anything natural to use for weaving; at least, that's what they were supposed to be doing. In Enya's tender four years of life she found focusing hard; instead of helping her mother she delighted herself with flopping in the grass and giggling every time the older woman would find her.

[Pyrrha ll 1]
At first Pyrrha had been keen on leaving both of her girls at home simply because she knew that trying to get anything done with little hands reaching for things they shouldn't made it impossible. Normally she didn't mind their 'help'; but when it came to being out in the wilds she got a little worried. What if they wandered off while she was busy collecting materials? They were still too little to listen to directions well, and how often had she looked up only to see Enya with a mouthful of something she really shouldn't?
Still, there was just something so rewarding in way her baby would squeal and laugh every time Pyrrha 'pinned' her in the grass. She would scoop the little one up, swamp her in tickles and raspberries before letting her run off again. Pyrrha wasn't sure how much work she would get done at this rate, but it wasn't as if everything needed gathered today. Surely they could wait a day or two for reeds?
Well, the elder did say we needed them soon...

With a basket hanging from the crook of her elbow, Miovadi was busy foraging for some tasty berries. Mostly, she was just trying to take a moment for herself. Her little sister was growing up, and the weight of being a big sister was just as intimidating as ever. Was she doing it right? Was she helping her sister or possibly being a hinderance? What if she was just making herself more irrelevant by giving Kasumi the skills to-?
The concerns were suddenly pushed aside when a youngling's delighted laughter rang out. That wasn't far away... It sounded so sweet, and she couldn't help pushing through the bushes to go take a peek. She didn't think Kasumi had ever made such excited noises...
She froze when someone came into view through the tall grass. There was an Elarian standing there, but where was the youngling? Did she even know this Elarian? She shouldn't interrupt someone she didn't know..

As far as Enya was concerned there was no one else around except for her mother, and she was busy running away from her! Still, in the tall grass it was easy to get turned around and sure enough at some point she lost her way. Instead of panicking she just kept running and laughing, gunning straight for the closest grey body she could find!
Unfortunately for her that most definitely wasn't Pyrrha.
Her laughter ended on an abrupt 'omph!' as soon as her body collided with the younger Elarian's. The little Elidae fell back onto her butt in surprise and looked up with a big smile only to pull up short.
Instantly her smile shifted into scared tears.

It was hard for Pyrrha not to notice the other Elarian; the pair of them stood out a among the brighter colors of their new home, after all. She'd also seen the other in passing so she wasn't concerned about her being an outsider. Still, it was worrisome knowing that her daughter was bouncing around the grass like a hopped up spitorog and when she heard the impact Pyrrha couldn't help making her way over.
She was just close enough to see her daughter's back as she sat on the ground, and almost as quickly the child started to cry. "Enya, love, it's okay," She couldn't help laughing a little. "You just made a new friend, right?" Crouching down by her daughter, Pyrrha looked up at the younger elarian with a smile.

Mio's ears twitched slightly at the sound of grass rustling and getting closer, and she licked her full lips warily. It was probably best to go before- oh! Mio got a glimpse of a wonderful smile before it crumbled into tears and made her heart sink. "I'm sorry!" she blurted out automatically, taking a step back as well. Wide eyes looked up at the approaching Elarian, but the other woman seemed much more at ease than the youngling... A hesitant smile rose in turn. "I.. would like to be, if that is okay," she offered bashfully. "My name is Mio. Miovadi."

Enya let out a dramatic little sniffle before ducking behind her mother as soon as the other elarian came near. She didn't know this lady at all! It was just like those scary dreams when she thought she saw one of her mothers and then they changed into a stick!
From behind Pyrrha's crouched form Enya peeped around, still ducking behind her mother's form with both of her hands pressed against the older woman's shoulders. Her lower lip quivered, eyes still wet with tears, but she didn't seem as upset as earlier.

"You're not the one who should apologize." Her tone was soft, but held meaning, especially when she cast a side eye to her daughter. After all, it wasn't Mio who had run into Enya. She leaned her head over to bump against her daughter's and affectionately nuzzle her before sitting up a little straighter. The little sprite could be so feisty one minute and as quiet as the moon the next.
"My name's Pyrrha, and this little terror is Enya." Honestly, what was there to fear with a girl who seemed as sweet as this? "She's spirited, and I can't fault her for that, but I am sorry she ran into you. Are you alright?" Not that a little thing like her could do much damage, but she may have broken something or knocked something into the water.

"I'm sor- I mean.. thank you." Mio blushed further when her apology was corrected, eventually giving a small nod of understanding. Considering how comfortable her sister was with her, it was easy to forget that other younglings might not feel the same. "Pyrrha.. and Enya." She let her smile warm further, enjoying how sweet the two were together. "I am fine. No harm was done. ..Is she your sister?"

"My sister?" For a moment Pyrrha just blinked her wide, milky eyes before they crinkled at the edges with a laugh. "Oh, no, she's my daughter." Tugging on Enya, she eased the timid little Elidae around from behind and pulled her up onto her knee with a kind hug. The little one seemed happy enough and was starting to loosen up, bit by bit. "I have two; little Enya and her twin, Pyanka."
Did she really look that young? Pyrrha supposed she should take it as a compliment, but then again she never really cared much about age barriers. To her everyone was as young as their souls allowed them to be. "You have a younger sister though, don't you? I've seen you, in the village, with her."

"Mama's not a sister," Enya mumbled into her mother's shoulder. As she was pulled around she squeaked, fighting it a little until her mother wrapped her up in a hug, then she melted. She wrapped her arms around the older warrior's neck and snuggled close, giving Mio the side eye while they talked.
Something about the whole thing made her curious, and in an act of bravery, she spoke up. "...Does she look like me or you?" A sister? Maybe she would want to play with her and Pyanka! Or...what if they already knew her? No one she knew had an older sister, though!
Still, looking at the other elarian now that she was 'safe', made Enya notice something else. She raised a hand and pointed at Mio's necklace. "It's pretty."

Daughter! Mio's consistent blush naturally got deeper in tone. At least Pyrrha didn't seem upset by the mislabeling. A set of twins, though! What would she have done if her mother had brought home two baby girls that day? She would surely have been in over her head...
She was legitimately surprised to hear the recognition. She often felt as though no one noticed her... Not that she tried very hard to be noticed. "I do, yes. Her name is Kasumi." Attention shifting to Enya, she gave a small nod. "Kasumi is an Elidae like you. She was actually one of the first to bloom to Esena, so she's a little older than you are." Pride unconsciously hinted in her tone, thinking about the responsibility she and her mother had been entrusted with by Esena.
Brow rising, Mio looked at the necklace being pointed at an smiled, her hand raising to tenderly touch the long crystals. "Thank you. My aunt gave this to me before-" she hesitated a moment, smile faltering just a bit, "before my mother and I moved here." With a little smile, she pulled the necklace off and held it out. "Would you like a closer look at it?"

One of the first? What did that mean? Enya wasn't truly old enough to understand the implications of that, but she did grasp that meant Kasumi was likely too old to want to play. Maybe she was as old as her cousin? But then again, she played when she visited, but not like younger kids...
Enya turned away from her mother and moved a little closer towards the necklace. Looking back at Pyrrha for a second, just to make sure it was okay, the child seemed to be almost hesitant to touch it. When she finally did, however, her eyes widened and her smile returned. "It's heavy, Mio-yo. Does it hurt your neck?"

"Ah, yes, the sweet little thing with the braids." It was hard not to recognize some of the first Elidae. With as much as Pyrrha loved children she'd naturally been drawn to the blooming lotus', and when their mothers allowed it she'd babysat. She may not have known the girls personally, but she could still picture those little braids so clearly. It had been part of what spurned her on to try for her own daughters.
"You should use it in your prayers. Hold onto a crystal and send good thoughts to the family you don't have with you anymore that way they can hear you in their dreams." Her voice was soft, but meaningful. Pyrrha knew from first hand experience how hard it was to leave family behind, even when you knew you were doing the best you could. "Are you lonely, being here?"

Mio-yo? Mio chuckled lightly and shook her head. "I've gotten used to it. The weight is sometimes comforting, actually. It makes remembering it's there easier." She may have gotten used to the necklace being there, but she liked when it bounced and reminded her that she was real..
Mio nodded and smiled lightly. "She's not as little as she used to be.. but still just as sweet." It was amazing to look back on the passage of time. Had it truly been so long?
Pyrrha's suggestion for the necklace made Mio's brow rise, but the surprise was soon followed by a smile. "That sounds lovely... I will do that." Her prayers often involved her aunt, so maybe holding the crystals instead of just wearing them would send her wishes better. Some days, she worried that she would be forgotten... Her inner thoughts fit with Pyrrha's question all too well. "I have my mother, and my sister." She debated leaving it at that, but found herself sighing instead. She didn't want to complain to new friends, but.. "but sometimes.. yes." She peeked over hesitantly to the older Elarian. "Were you lonely? Before your girls?"
