Quote: Prompt 1: Destiny City has its fair share of infestations--rats, youma, seasonal monsters...There's no shortage of unpleasantries. But, for the first time in a while, there's a pleasant sort of infestation: along with the winter chill and a steady stream of snow, it seems like a herd of small, fluffy white rabbits have overrun the city. They aren't menacing or evil, they're just everywhere. They seem strangely domesticated; they are sweet, curious, and friendly creatures that will eat anything you give them. They always seem cold to the touch, and when they shake, little snowflakes sprinkle off of them. They can show up just about anywhere, either alone or--often--in pairs. They tend to wander off on their own but they seem to appreciate anything warm and will cuddle up to steal body heat. Cybele understood what the holidays were. She did not particularly understand the way that they were presented. If holidays were about family and friends for some and religion for others, why was every shop decked with ribbons and lights? Why were there glowing trees on every corner and music blasting louder than normal through all the speakers in the city? It didn't connect. Neither family or festivities particularly mattered to Cybele, but the hustle and bustle made it easier to find targets for the harvesting of energy and starseeds. She was coming out to the city for work nearly every day. She was ducking into an alleyway with a small haul of energy when she saw it. She always kept an eye out for sickly alley cats, and she thought that this might have been one of them except that the shape and color was off. This was the right size, except that the shape and the color was off. A rabbit? She knelt to get a closer look. Yes, a pure white rabbit in the middle of town. Strange, but she'd seen stranger, and she clicked her tongue at it the way she did at all small fluffy things. To her surprise, it came right over and started chewing on her shoe.

It was finally getting colder out, which meant that Versailles didn't feel as comfortable outside in his outfit. He was warm enough, he certainly wouldn't freeze, but he did wish there was some sort of option that would change their outfits to fit the seasons or something. That wouldn't happen though so he just had to live with it for now, which meant that he wanted to stay out of the cold for as long as possible. Because it was close to the holidays, people were still out and about and milling together, which meant that energy was much easier to come by. It's when January and February hit that it would be much harder to gather any energy. So if he could collect extra now, perhaps he wouldn't have to go out as much in the coming few months? It had been his plan to do so, but it had been derailed when he felt the more-powerful presence of another Senshi nearby and they felt like they were... corrupt? It piqued his curiosity. He had seen so few that it intrigued him. And this one felt like a stranger. He followed the aura and eventually was able to find the Senshi within an alleyway while he was looking from a rooftop down below and was about to say something when he saw... a rabbit? That was new. He jumped into the alleyway below, making a bit of noise to alert the other Senshi to his prescence. "I'm not here to fight or anything, I was only curious about who the aura belonged to and I can't say that I've seen you before." He said as he looked away for a moment to look a the rabbit chewing on the other Senshi's shoe. "I see that you've made a friend".

The impact of someone jumping nearby was enough to interrupt the rabbit's nibbling for a moment. It stared at the new arrival, nose twitching, before it seemed to decide it wasn't in danger and came nuzzling up to Cybele's ankles again. Cybele reacted more slowly. She was careful not to make any sudden movements as she turned and looked the senshi over from head to toe, taking in the too-long hair, the cracks, the Chaos aura. This was obviously another corrupt, like her, which made his words strange. "Is there a reason I should be wanting to fight you?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "You're not a traitor, are you?" It was mostly a joke, although her tone stayed steady. She did not think that if someone was a traitor they would go around admitting it to strange Eternals. In any case, she was not agressive. Instead, she knelt down, allowing the rabbit to sniff her fingers before she gently ran her thumb across its ears. Another hopped out from behind a nearby dumpster. "Yes," said Cybele. "Isn't it precious? I don't know if these things are normal, but they're very cute." For once, there was something soft about her smile.

Versailles chuckled. "A few things. Sometimes surprising people will cause them to lash out before they know what's going on." It hadn't happened to him yet, but he was sure that he didn't want to end up in such a situation anyway. "And no, not a traitor." He knew there were some, but he had no reason to leave. At least Order hadn't shown him any reason. He was perfectly content within the Negaverse for now and he doubted that would change. After all, even if Order could give him power, it seemed to be less powerful and not quite... controllable. He slowly moved closer, and knelt down as well, not really caring if his now longer hair touched the dirty alleyway. It would be gone when he powered down anyway. "I would say that rabbits within alleyways are quite unusual." He said, smiling as the other one from behind the dumpster moved closer. He wasn't sure if it was just him, but were these things multiplying by themselves? The other hopped to him and when he touched the top of its head it was cold to the touch. "Snowbunny?" He muttered to himself in surprise. "I'm pretty sure rabbits or bunnies aren't this cold..." Not that he had ever taken care of such creatures, but he was pretty sure that bunnies/rabbits were mammals and therefore warm-blooded. "They are very cute though." He looked over and saw her smiling. He didn't know her, so he wasn't sure if it was unusual for her to do so, but there was nothing wrong with it. Sometimes small things could make others so happy. "I'm Versailles, Corrupt Super Senshi of Splendor. What is your name?" Might as well make an acquaintance while they were both here.

Cybele nodded. She supposed she could see herself lashing out in surprise, although the auras generally gave away when someone was nearby. "It seems I've no reason to fight you, then," she said, turning to him for a moment with a nod and a small smile. Still, most of her attention was locked onto the rabbit that was now cuddling up contentedly next to her, its feet curled underneath of it like a cat. Cybele could only assume that that was what bunnies did when they were happy, too, and she carefully ran a hand down its back. "It is cold," she said. "That's definitely wrong, isn't it?" she glanced to Versailles for confirmation, brows knitting slightly. Now that she had a few months of experience under her belt, she had a better sense of what was mundane, what was magical, and what was completely off, but it was still usually best to get a second opinion. "And if you look hard at their fur, doesn't it seem a little too pale? There's no yellow undertone or anything. It's like ice." Despite her words, Cybele did not seem too concerned. She just continued staring at the little creatures. As long as they kept her teeth away from her skin, she was happy to stay with them. "I'm Cybele, Senshi of the Hunt," she said without looking up. The corrupt bit was obvious enough by looking at her. "It's a pleasure."

Hunt must be in terms of the chase or something then. He thought to himself as he heard her questioning if bunnies being cold was wrong. From what he had remembered, there had been an Eternal Senshi that had been captured sometime in the Summer. He wasn't sure what was involved in the process of corruption, but the fact that she didn't know such things, it was as though she had lost all of her memories. He decided that he would never find himself in such a situation. "Yeah, bunnies are supposed to be warm. Usually if they're cold it's a... bad thing. But considering that these are still moving around, they might be a bit magical?" He said as he watched her looking at them, and then took another glance at them himself. He wasn't sure what snowbunnies ate, but hopefully it wasn't human flesh or something. "That sounds like an interesting sphere. I like mine of course, but I think hunting suits you. It definitely does more than myself." He let out a small chuckle trying to make a joke out of it, but he knew he was much more suited for Splendor anyway. "You have any luck on your hunt tonight? I was out looking looking for someone to get energy from tonight, but haven't had any luck so far. Not surprising with the colder weather."

"That's what I thought," said Cybele, although even snuggled up to her, the rabbit at her side remained ice cold. "So that would make it magic. Perhaps they're truly made of snow?" Not that it really mattered. Cybele was enamored either way. She scooped the nearest one up into her lap. "At least it's not dangerous magic. They're little sweethearts. There was some mist monster loose back in October, and that was quite a different story." She supposed that they could just be trying to get her guard down before they unleashed some sort of attack. If that was their plan, it was working. She even eventually eventually took her eyes off of them so that she could give her full attention to Versailles. "You're Splendor, you said? I can see it." His outfit was quite ornate, of course, but there was something about his smile, as well. "I believe you could dazzle someone, given the opportunity." Careful not to disturb her small friend, she reached into her ribbons and pulled out a small energy orb. She offered it to him. "But, if that opportunity does not come tonight, I can help with your quota. My hunt went well enough." She tried to think back to the rules she'd gone over with Sylvite. Nothing had said that sharing wasn't allowed.

Versailles couldn't help but shiver at the memory of the mist monster or whatever it was. If it had an official name he would have called it that, but they would never know. They were only there for a short while and after the monster had been sealed again, definitely not killed like it should have, they were immediately taken out of it and sent back to, or made larger or whatever it was that had happened to them, and were back after only three hours. The fact that he had been able to do so little to the monster annoyed him still. He did smirk at her compliment. "Thank you, it does suit me perfectly." He said, feeling just a bit over-confident with the compliment. "I haven't actually gotten to do much as a Super yet. Mostly that whole mist thing, so testing out my powers hasn't happened yet. Though I assume it's just an upgrade to my previous ones." It would be weird to get totally different powers right? He was quite shocked and had closed his mouth pretty quickly when she offered him an orb. He hadn't been expecting it, and was too surprised when she actually offered it. "I... wow. I wasn't expecting you to offer any energy." He would have continued to say something like how he had deserved it, but considering it was the first time and considering how Agents and other Corrupted Senshi were, he was at a loss of words for a bit, and quietly accepted the offer. "Thank you... I'll have to pay you back somehow, though I'm not sure how at this point. Just, nothing too crazy." He said grinning at her. He was sure he could give her some extra energy later or something, but he wasn't going to go and throw himself in front of a Youma or something just for a little bit of energy. Suddenly one of the bunnies touched his boot and he felt a shiver of cold go through him. "Wow, these are cold considering how it went through my boot." He said looking at it. "Definitely magic." Though for what reason they were there, he didn't know, but it bothered him a little. Was something dangerous going to happen with them as well?

Cybele handed the energy orb over easily, with only a small shrug. "The Negaverse is a team. We're meant to help each other out, correct?" She tilted her head slightly, genuinely curious. Just as she'd known there was something strange about the rabbits but not quite what, she had a general idea about the structure of the Negaverse, but still occasionally needed clarification on the details. She was finding that different people had different opinions on things like hierarchy and organizational goals, which made things more complicated. She was completely sure of her own role, on the other hand. She knew that she was meant to serve. "You don't owe me, although perhaps if you find yourself with a particularly bountiful haul one evening, you can return the favor." She flashed him a smile, one that was casual and lighthearted. "You've got me curious about your magic, though," she said. "I'd recommend trying it out before you find yourself fighting for your life. You could test it on me, assuming it's not something that kills instantly." The rabbit was growing bolder. It hopped into Cybele's lap and huddled close. Shaking her head, she gently nudged it back onto the ground. And assuming we give our friends a little space," she added.

"I will. You won't see anyone calling me greedy." He chuckled as he watched her deal with the bunny. "We are, but there are some who, like in the real world, will do anything to get to the top. Whatever it may be." He was sure that they had some psychopaths or whatever within their organization. No one became this okay with chaos unless they had done some pretty terrible things. Especially the ones that he knew had blood on their hands. After all, quite a few recorded their deeds in the database. "I can try it on you if you want. It's more of a distraction than anything that would hurt the opponent. It suits me, but that doesn't mean I wish it could do more." Though what that "more" was he had no idea. What else could one do with splendor besides distracting the opponent into perhaps doing something to themselves? "I'll show you." And with a snap of his finger he said "Share the Splendor!"Quote: Share the Splendor With this attack, Versailles snaps his finger and let's off a brilliant light shines down on his opponent. A target within a 10 foot radius is suddenly put in fine jewels, gems, and/or other things that would make the target feel splendor and would distract them. Lasts 25 seconds. Can be used twice in battle.

Cybele made a low, thoughtful sound. “You don’t have to worry about such competition from me. I believe I am already as close to the top as I will be getting.” She was a servant of the Negaverse, as she’d said, and that was all. She was a powerful servant, but that power didn’t come from any deeds she could remember. There was no way to know if she even deserved it. The thought of being given more authority seemed so far fetched that she’d never stopped to consider it. It was much easier to focus on helping a newly upgraded senshi learn his magic. She smiled as he said the words, giving an encouraging nod. That smile only grew when she found her arms and neck suddenly dripping with jewelry. She lifted her arm to get a better look at the bracelets. They were silver and purple and green, and they had a lovely shimmer even in the low light. For some reason, she was having a hard time taking her eyes off of them. “Oh, I like this,” she said. “It’s very pretty, but it would also get the enemy’s eyes off of you.” The rabbit, undeterred, jumped into her lap again. Cybele kept her gaze on her new splendor, but said, “I changed my mind about not involving the bunnies, though. You should cast it on the bunnies. That would be adorable.”

"Interesting..." It was something to think about, one who didn't only think of themselves. Versailles of course would probably never initiate such a thing himself, but knew that it could be useful in the future. How surprising though that they would induct someone, or he supposed in this case force someone into the Negaverse who was so much... nicer compared to a lot of them? He wondered if it was something to do with the fact that they weren't truly in the Negaverse before and held onto some personality from before, though he knew there could be Order Senshi who were just as awful as most Agents, or if there truly was an advantage to having such a person. Or perhaps the Senshi was trying to trick him as well, one never knew, which is why he was sure that there was always a feeling of distrust floating around all of the Agents. He smiled at how her attention had been taken away from whatever she was seeing. He couldn't see it himself, but he was sure that she was looking at something quite beautiful. "It's a great distraction. I haven't been able to use it much myself up to this point, but I don't believe that it's useless. I just haven't found the need."He did look at the bunnies. "I wonder if it would work on them, but I can try it." He picked one and placed it next to the other, and then caught their attention by waving his hand in front of them and repeated what he had done with Cybele and well... he thought that they may have been looking at something, but the fact that they couldn't communicate with him made him wonder if it had worked.

Senshi magic never lasted that long. After a few more moments, Cybele’s jewelry had vanished, and she turned her full attention to the bunnies. Often, she was quite stoic, but now she leaned forward, hands clasped in front of her and expectation plain in her eyes. And then, nothing. Perhaps it wasn’t truly nothing. The bunnies were twitching a bit. They easily could have been looking at something, but it was nothing that Cybele could see. “Oh,” she said, blinking, her voice falling just a tiny bit. “Is it all in their heads?” She was silent for a moment more, trying to make out what might or might not be going through the rabbits’ heads, but really there was no way to tell. “That probably makes the magic more useful, at least,” she eventually said. “You won’t end up distracting yourself.” Before any small animals could try to swarm her again, she made her way to her feet. “Perhaps I should take it as a message that I shouldn’t get so distracted in the middle of my duties.”

Versailles nodded. "I believe so. I don't think everyone would get distracted by the same thing, so I think it's different for others, as well as these bunnies." He said with a chuckle. He nodded. "I would hope that I would be immune to it, but I haven't had it used on myself before. Not that I would know how that would work unless I did it myself, but there might be ways such as with mirrors or something." He wasn't sure, though it made him curious and made him want to test it out. Safely. He wasn't going to try it out in a battle against an enemy. He smiled at her as she got to her feet. "Perhaps, though if the Order are as nice as they say they are, they wouldn't be attacking cute little creatures such as these if you were in the middle of them." He was sure that there were some who wouldn't care though. Just as there were those in the Negaverse who thought the same. He stood up as well, his back admonishing him for being in such a position for so long. "It's time to get going though, at least for me. As cute as these little creatures are, they don't appear to be draining energy. Though for what reason they are here I don't know. But perhaps there will be more time later to discover why." He said, giving the other Senshi a smile.

"If you want to experiment more with the magic, I'll be around. I'll do what I can to help you test it." said Cybele, giving one last look to the presumably enchanted rabbits. It was bad enough to not know what you were going up against, but to be unsure of your own magic made strategizing nearly impossible. She'd been brought into the fold to be a fighter, but it seemed useful to help others hone their skills as well. "For now, I should get back to the hunt as well," she said, stepping away from the rabbits to quell the temptation to simply sit and play with them some more. One hopped after her, its nose twitching sweetly, and Cybele had to turn away entirely. "Until next time, Versailles," she said, and she quickly made her way down the alleyway and back into the streets beyond.
