It was strange to be out on a patrol for once. And of course, Cavansite had to smirk as she thought it, the fact that it was strange meant she had to do it more often. But...there was always so much to do she enjoyed the time spent in her office...she felt useful there.
There weren’t mistakes that could be made there. Not as many, at least. Besides. If she hadn’t been in her office, how would she have ever helped Parisite with his new Lieutenant? They would have both been tired and it would have been just awful.
Yes. Perhaps she should just keep telling herself that. Maybe one day she’d listen.
There was the feeling of someone powered nearby. Lower leveled...a knight, if she wasn’t mistaken.
Quietly, Cavansite weighed her options and finally just teleported right in front of whoever it was, blinking in surprise as she realized she vaguely recognized the page.
Cosmos. Of course. It seemed like that was the only types of knights in this city. “...You. We...went swimming?” It was so long ago. Before the Youmaglia. Before she lost Amisite. Back when she was beginning to dangerously toe the line.
“...I don’t remember your name, I apologize. What have you been up to?” Why? Was it simply the fact of a pretty face that made her feel...relaxed? Where was the rage that used to well up when she would see that stupid star? Where was her fierce spirit?
Gone, most likely. Sometimes. She was just so tired.
But. Parisite needed her. So she would keep on.

In the same moment she sensed a strong aura feathering the edge of her senses, Ein frantically surveyed her surroundings looking for a place to hide, a crowd to duck into, any place she could go to keep from being seen long enough to power down. However, before she could move even three steps, the aura blinked out of existence. She would have exhaled a sigh of relief if it wasn't that the office appeared before her. With eyes squeezed shut, Ein held fast to her lantern handle and moved to swing at the agent but stopped when she heard a vaguely familiar voice start to speak. Huh? Fully expecting to get hit, or God forbid stabbed, she was hesitant to open her eyes. "My name..." She laughed nervously and took a step back before. It took a lot of mental convincing but after a few seconds, Ein looked at the General and let out a sigh. "It's Einhornhohle," the Page replied with a sigh of relief. "It's been almost a year since I took you to my wonder." Probably longer, actually. But she didn't exactly mark the date on any calendar. "You have a knack for scaring the s**t out of me, you know that right?" Ein combed her fingers through her wavy Ombre colored hair, a gesture often done when nervous or when trying to calm down.

Cavansite grinned at her reaction, pleased that she could at least still startle people. “Ah! Einhornhohle! That's right. Pretty as ever, I see.”
She couldn’t resist teasing, even flirting a little. Clearly, seeing someone she knew had done wonders for her mood.
“I think your timing is a little off, I’m thinking it’s been almost three...I met you before they put the youma in my head because I was thinking too much about purification.” Ah. That had been a long while ago...and now so many things were different. Her mind was in a better place now, she hoped. At least...she wasn’t actively thinking any traitorous thoughts.
“And, what have you been up to, my fair maiden? Go on any more lovely swims on your beach lately?”
She should be attacking. Should be doing a whole list of things. Calling Axinite to corrupt the page would be the best option but…
Talking was nice.
This would just have to remain a secret. She wouldn’t go down the path again. ...Not too far down it, at least.

Clearly, Ein had no life if that much time had truly passed. Then again, one day seamlessly bled into the next, mostly because she worked dark-to-dark hours in a building where the only window was nowhere near her work station. As far as she was concerned it was still October and the Christmas decorations and Nutcracker rehearsals were some trick by staff coordinators to confuse her even more. But then the officer said something that gave her reason to pause. "Wait wait wait..." The Page held her hands up between them. "Hold up..." Her lavender eyes squinted in the General's direction. "Rewind. I don't think I heard you right. They did what with a youma?"

Cavansite hesitated and gave a sad sort of smile. “Oh...I um. Put one in my head. Punishment. I was...toeing the line, you know? Getting...too close to the other side. And here I am, talking with someone yet again, with no desire to do any harm...ugh. Keep this a secret won’t you? I don’t feel like having it in my brain again...it was…”
The smile fell finally and she shrugged, crossing her arms over her chest. “Rough. It was rough. I couldn’t...feel right. It was like, there was a wall between myself and my emotions...ah. Wow. I shouldn’t.”
She shook her head, taking a step back and laughing. “I’m not sure why I’m telling you all of this. It’s our secret, beautiful, okay?” Winking, Cavansite tried to backpedal, but she knew the damage was done. That wasn’t...information that should be spread. But…
Well.
Oh well.

Einhornhohle was too much of a work-o-holic to involve herself too much in this war of magic which is what made her original encounter with the General so memorable. Before she had been strong-willed and demanding, going as far as threatening her life; the encounter terrified her completely but in the end they at least parted ways on at least amicable terms. But the woman before her was... different. Less angry and eager to fight... "You've changed." It was less of an observation and more of a fact and yet she felt obligated to say it out loud anyway. Running her fingers through her hair, the Page sighed and glanced over her shoulder as if someone might be spying on them, taking notes on this encounter to get the General in trouble again. Or worse... "I won't tell anyone, but maybe we should talk somewhere else. Somewhere safe?" Out here their signatures would draw too much attention and eventually someone was bound to happen upon them..

Cavansite hesitated, looking almost a little nervous. “...Not...really. Where even is safe to talk, Einhornhohle? Back to your wonder? I...don’t think I’ll be looked upon very kindly if I go back there...ah.” She rubbed the back of her head, looking almost embarrassed now. “...I don’t feel anyone around, so I think that we’re all right. Besides. Worst comes to worst and I”ll just...you know. Grab your starseed and teleport away…”
It didn’t sound like a kind way to settle things but...it could be done.
“Ah. Anyway. What’s been going on in your life? Anything exciting and new? You’re still a page, I take it you don’t...power up often, hm? I can’t fault you for that...it’s...tedious.” She had the exact opposite issue, staying powered for most of the time. Keeping herself sequestered in her office and working almost constantly.
“...What brings you out tonight? Is it just us fated to meet once again?”

The Page raised an eyebrow at the threat but otherwise didn't seem too concerned by it. It lacked the bite, or promise, it did before and for some reason the couldn't bring herself to believe that the General would follow through with it this time. "Ah," Einhornhohle let out an almost exasperated sigh. "Things haven't really changed since we last met. I'm still not one for fighting and power up because I need a vacation away from everything." Golden hair spilled down her backside as looked up at the dark clouds but her gaze seemed to be set somewhere far beyond them to a place only she could find. A small smile tugged the corners of her lips, Wasn't that the reason we met last time? she mused to herself. "Perhaps it is fate." The Page of Cosmos then turned her attention back to the General. "Is it your responsibility to the Negaverse that brings you out here, or something else?" Her head canted to the side curiously. "A curiosity or perhaps a desire to change your destiny." It was the name of their city after all.

Cavansite paused, pursing her lips and looking a little amused. “...You’re still taking the orders I gave you last time to heart, I see...convince me that I’m worth saving? You truly don’t have to this time, Ein.” There was too much to lose this time. She didn’t...there was no...no real pull towards the mystery of purification.
“I simply needed some fresh air. I suppose it’s like you, I needed a vacation away from everything and a chance to simply see the city. I...spend most of my time working. I don’t get out much anymore. It’s nice to have the wind on my face.” She gave a little laugh and sighed, reaching to rub at the bridge of her nose. “If I were sensible, I’d try to find a new place to live but. Living in my office works for now. My couch is comfortable.”
Was she out of touch with reality? Absolutely. But...the General Sovereigns did it...Besides. She had no home here any more.

It wasn't that she was trying to convince Cavansite that she was worth saving, at the time it was more like she was in self-preservation mode and would have done or said anything to be able to go home and sleep in her own bed with both starseed and limbs still attached. But it seemed something about that day must have triggered something within the General, tempered her anger enough to see things with clearer eyes. If she needs fresh air... Einhornhohle smiled then reached a hand out towards Cavan "Do you trust me?" The question felt very dejavu, well kind of. It was more like a reenactment of the classic Disney film Aladdin and as someone who worked in theater, granted it was as a costume designer, she felt no shame in giving a nod to the great movie.

For a long moment, Cavansite stared at the offered hand, and finally she gave a small laugh, holding her own out and lightly clasping Ein’s. “I shouldn’t trust you, but I do. You know, I have always considered Cosmos knights my personal enemies, but you haven’t ever...” she sighed and shook her head.
“Yes, I trust you.”

The Page of Cosmos gave the General's hand a gentle squeeze. "Close your eyes," she spoke softly. It was a simple request that, in a way, demanded a level of trust that wasn't usually easily given. But she had a feeling Cavansite knew where this was going and when the officer complied, Einhornhohle whispered the pledge to her wonder and after a quick glance around to make sure there weren't any civilians watching, the two disappeared from the bleakness of Destiny City to a Wonder once visited several years ago.
