However, as with most things, it was easy for her to get so engrossed in a project or task that time slipped by like a steadily flowing stream winding unnoticed through the chaotic wilderness that had become her life. It was too easy for her to work through an entire day without eating anything until it was time to go home. At that point, she’d be almost starving with the beginning sharp stabbing pains of a migraine behind her right eye.
Not pleasant in the least and it made her irritable when she got home, not a mood she wanted to be in when Wolframite was home, especially when he was supposed to be resting.
Lavendulan drew in a deep breath, set her tool carefully on the table, then let out a slow exhale. “Ok,” she stretched her arms above her head, and heard the chorus of joints and vertebrae popping in protest to the movement. Clearly she had been hunched over for a bit too long.
“Ow… “ she groaned then rose from her seat and pushed the chair under her desk before turning off the alarm. Laven knew herself well enough that if she hit snooze before getting up that eventually she’d just dismiss the alarm altogether and forgo eating today.
Walking across the office space she had been given, she opened one of the drawers and realized that she forgot to bring food with her, “Ugh… damn.” Her lips pursed together in minor irritation. “Guess it’s cafeteria food today.” Not as good as home-cooked but at least it was free.
If she were a Cpatian it would be a non-issue, she could just teleport home and grab something there. But as she was, a Lieutenant, Laven wasn’t able to move around so freely and so, she stowed her tablet away in her subspace pocket and stepped out into the hallway.
