There is an array of fruits, mostly apples, hanging from some trees, and there are several different types of berries that grow around the forest. There are unkempt gardens in a few of the houses, and a larger one with an array of crops that seem to be free for the taking, just by what seems to be an abandoned--locked--church. In some houses, and in a strange storage room in town, there seems to be unidentifiable dried meat. There are no packed or processed foods--only what nature permits. There are no animals to hunt. You can choose to eat any of such food, but at what cost? Are you fortunate enough to feel no effects? Are you struck with some toxic poisoning that fades after a bit? Do you feel rejuvenated, but at the cost of feeling incredibly paranoid and off?
Climbing over a small garden fence the dark mirror senshi went about picking some of the foods from the garden, placing them into the basket he'd gotten from his own home, so he could carry everything back. A lot looked like root vegetables, which was fine with him, they would last well but would need to be boiled or steamed somehow. They couldn't cook once it got dark so they'd have to start early in order to have them done before it got dark. He didn't trust the beast not smelling foods being made and trying to break their door down. Pulling something else from the ground he placed it into the basket. It wasn't a lot, he was planning to leave enough for others, but he and Clue did need to eat.

Remarque had not been a fan of all of the food he'd had so far, but as food was a necessity, he found that meant he too needed to forage, like some little village person. Thankfully, Arnica was more keen to take on that task, and Remarque let him without complaint.
But, while he was waiting for Arnica to do so, it left him to wander the village and see if there was anything he could do. Or see if Shaowei was cooking again.
He paused when he saw Itokawa picking from a garden.
"Oh. There you are. I thought I saw you earlier. How are you holding up?" he asked, stopping to give the male a quick look over and make sure he was in one piece.

Turning he was surprised by who he saw, he hadn't seen them at all, but he was also glad to see a familiar face finally. "Holding up as well as we can. I have a civilian with me." He said as he finished placing a few last vegetables into his basket.
Making his way towards the other dark mirror senshi as he dropped his voice, not wanting to risk others hearing him. "Boyfriend...he isn't apart of this but it brought him here." Which meant he was keeping the other safe alone, likely, and trying to manage things on his own while still being a somewhat new senshi.
"Have you found anything out?" They needed information or something, objects or maybe something else, to help get them out of here. "I've heard loud sounds outside at night...it's not safe here. Are you the only dark mirror here?" He'd been too busy watching his partner and keeping him safe to notice who else was here and to pay too much attention to energy signatures...though he did sense chaos here.

Remarque nodded when he mentioned that he had a civilian with him. He rested his elbows on the fence and answered, "Haven't heard much more than that, if we're being honest. It's not safe, no. So make sure you stay inside at night. I'm staying with Arnica, over there," he gestured to the house just a bit down the way. "There are a few others that I've seen. Shaowei, she was making food the other day. --Does your partner know it's you?" he asked, adjusting his weight from one foot to the other.
"...Or are you taking care of him under the guise of a stranger?"

"Shaowei?" He questioned, that was a name and a face he didn't know. Not that it was a surprise he didn't know other dark mirror senshi, there was a lot of people he didn't know due to keeping his distance for so long. He was getting better though - he had to. "He knows it's me. Could not have a relationship with secrets - especially one this big. Not with the history we have...it felt bad." Wrong - it felt wrong. With their history it wouldn't be good to star6 something with him keeping any secrets. "From Thailand also." And his accent was also heavy, maybe a bit heavier than his own.
"Friends and crush I had back home were why I left. Meeting now it's not bad...we have an understanding. He did what he did to follow the crowd. We've talked - a lot." Which was why he wasn't going to keep the secret.

Remarque nodded; it was certainly easier to have a relationship that wasn't founded on secrets, and given the nature of sneaking around and late night activities the Dark Mirror Court required, there was always room to assume if not quickly clarified.
"I'm glad you have the sort of relationship where you can trust him with that sort of thing. He's not powered himself, is he?" he asked, resting his elbows on the fence and allowing his weight to shift to them as he looked at Itokawa.

"No. He would have said and no been so clueless." He answered. He was glad for it, at the time,. but right now he almost wished his partner was powered so he wasn't so vulnerable to whatever was terrorizing them all.
"Have to have the relationship we do. There was a lot of hurt in the past but it was....follow the leader and turn against a friend because the leader does. When you grow up you stop doing that." At least some people, maybe most even, did. Some seemed to still play follow the leader as adults. "Meeting again, in Destiny City, it helped...the distance and no one else from home around to influence." It let Clue find himself and allowed them to be friends and then more. It kept them able to talk and allowed for them to both feel safe.

Remarque nodded, taking the information in easily. There were pros and cons to it, of course, but his greatest concern was that Itokawa would wind up dating someone that got suckered in by the Negaverse, or per some fluke wound up joining the Order Senshi.
...Order Senshi could be fixed, though, he supposed. Knights, not so much. Negaverse, definitely not at all.
"Well," he said earnestly, "I'm glad you two were able to overcome everything from your past. Destiny City seems like it's good for a lot of things, for all the trouble it's worth. Hope you two both get to do all the healing you need. You'll have to point him out to me the next time we're both around, I'll do my best to keep an extra eye on him. I want all of us to get home safe, and if he's under your protection, I'll make sure he's under mine as well."
He eyed the food Itokawa had been collecting and asked, "Have you had much luck finding anything edible? Everything we seem to find winds up having some weird taste, some weird side effect. Last night, whatever I had for dinner knocked me out for almost twelve hours."
He didn't seem like he was even remotely a fan of that, and rubbed the back of his neck, agitated. If something had happened, he'd have been s**t out of luck and he didn't like thinking that Arnica might have been left so vulnerable.

"Seems like it is...distance from home is good." It allowed him to heal and it gave him a friend back...and something more. It gave him something he wouldn't have thought he needed till he had it. He just wished this city was less dangerous...
"Thank you, that means a lot. I don't think I can keep him safe on my own here." Not as weak as he was, at least when compared to some of the others wandering about this little village. He'd already seen a short little General who gave off a certain vibe he wasn't a fan of. He seemed dangerous.
"Not really...but we need to eat." So they dealt with it as best they could. Seeing things....bad taste and other things. The food isn't safe but it doesn't kill." So it was tolerable because it was all they had and they needed it so they could survive and maybe have a chance at escape. "I hope Clue stays out of this...not powered at all." But he would be ok with he round up a dark mirror senshi as well, at least he could keep himself safe as well. But at least Clue knew about this world so could try and avoid any cat wanting to awaken him and some other situations that might lead him to being on another side.

"The kindest thing we can hope for is that our love ones either never have to be involved in this war--or wind up with enough power to take care of themselves without ever being hurt for it," Remarque sighed, but he managed a little shrug.
"I have a few errands to run today," he added, thinking it sounded ridiculous that he had chores to tend to in this silly little village. "If you need anything, you'll let me know, won't you? I'll check in on you--and Clue," he said, assuming this was the name of his boyfriend. "...Be careful with that food. Heard some weird things about it so far. Just. Keep some water with you, just in case."

"You mean that they wind up like us?" Dark mirror senshi in this case. He wasn't sure he wanted to pull Clue into all of this, at least not more than he already was, but it would be better than being pulled into things and unable to protect himself. Remarque was right. He could hope for it even if he didn't really like the idea he knew it was safer.
"I'll keep an eye on the food...and yes - visit us. I want him to know you and others in case anything happens and I'm not around." Not just here in this village but any time in the future as well. Who knew what else might happen to either Clue or himself.
"If you need anything as well...just ask." He would do his best for Clue and make sure he knew other dark mirror senshi, even if he'd never power up himself, so he had people to help him if was ever alone in a situation and needed help. He should introduce him to....Acubens...he thought that's what her name was. He could remember it, sort of, and the mass of curls that went with it.
