November was here in the blink of an eye, bringing the winters chill with it. The corrupted senshi shuddered a bit as she found herself among the taller buildings in the city. Something pulled her here, a need to look down at everything. To get away, but still be near in case there was a call to action.
Finding a comfortable ledge on the top of a large business building, she threw her legs over and sat down on the cold cement. A shudder and then she just breathed in and out while gazing down.
Everything was moving like molasses except for the months. Eris felt like she had been waiting since the day she came to when she lost her eye for the final time. Nothing made sense anymore and yet very little had actually changed. It was like she was on the cusp of something more but didn't know what it was and she was getting anxious waiting.
"What am I waiting for?"
She didn't expect much of an answer. There were signatures all around, but most of them were weak, not near her. The ones that were close didn't feel like the enemy.
Was she waiting, or was Destiny City waiting?
Slowly her feet began to kick as though she was a child. Lost in thought, her single eye unfocused on the city below.

Arnica wasn't sure he wanted to be powering up again so soon after his trip to the village, but it wasn't in his nature to just idly sit by and do nothing.
He had more questions than answers--again.
So he was out. He walked. He paced. There was no fog to swallow him up, to drag him away. It was a clear night, cool, but not so much so that he was uncomfortable.
It seemed like a busy night, considering how many people appeared to be out today. As he rounded another corner, he became more aware of another energy signature. He wasn't walking towards it deliberately, his feet just carried him there. They were close, but he couldn't see them, so he didn't pay much attention to them.
...And then, he looked up--quite on accident--and saw her.
He suddenly felt like he was intruding, and did the most sensible thing he could think of--he raised a hand in confused greeting, and waved.
"You look lonely up there," he called, before he'd really even had time to process that the words were leaving his mouth.

A signature was near and it did make Eris mentally sigh and prepare for a greeting. Her dark eye focused on the figure when the words reached her ears and she tilted her head. He wasn't corrupt. He must be a Dark Mirror then. Raising her own gloved hand in greeting Eris proceeded to basically throw herself off the building. With a quick and practice movement, she flipped and landed almost silently on the street below, about twenty feet away from him. From there her hands went behind her back and Eris started walking toward the unknown senshi. "...Lonely? Putting it mildly, I would say. It is a rather lonely part of the city... Yet here we both are."

Arnica watched her as she descended, a bit surprsied by the showmanship, but he couldn't really judge. He'd never tried anything like that, himself.
"Well. I don't really know where I'm going, tonight. Was sort of just letting my feet make the decisions. But you looked lik you had something on your mind. I hope I wasn't interrupting?" he asked, and when she was close enough, he offered her his hand. "...I'm Arnica. You're a corrupted senshi, aren't you? ...I haven't really met one, before."

"A good many things are on my mind," she said in way of response, her shoulders coming up in a shrug. "But interruptions are welcome, this time. I'm Eris." She took his hand in her gloved clad one and gave it a firm shake. She was small, just coming up to five foot because of her one inch heels. "Arnica," it was hard on her tongue. English wasn't her first language, so even after all these years, some syllables were hard on her tongue and caused her to trip up. Apparently this was one of them. "Arnica..." Nope, it sounded gross in her voice. She wasn't going to repeat it a third time. "You happen to be one of the few Dark Mirror's I've met. Some of your faction would rather attack than talk."

"Attack you?" he asked, tilting his head to the side. He wasn't exactly new to this whole thing, but he felt like he was always learning something. "That doesn't seem very sensical, why would they want to do a thing like that?"
The Negaverse wasn't exactly an ally, but they weren't enemies unless they made themselves one. At least, that's what he'd been advised. He had incredibly slim interactions with them until now, but he wasn't going to go out of his way to start something.
Besides, Eris hadn't given him any reason to think she was trouble.
Yet.

"Every faction has their hot headed outliers. I'm assuming it's as such." Her hand went behind her back again, clasped in the other as she looked him over. He was very... bright in comparisons to her own dark uniform. "Our factions haven't always seen eye to eye, though your faction seems to teeter between order and chaos. At least from what I can see. Tell me, where do you personally fall?" Eris was trying to keep her tone neutral, but she was really trying to see if she could end up calling upon him in the future if this meeting went well and she found herself a 'friend'. ....Or something close to it. "Then again, Discord is a sphere to be wary of."

He watched her closely as she spoke, as if actually listening to everything she said rather attentively. "We don't choose our spheres," he said simply. "I couldn't judge you for yours. What you do with your power means more than what it is, I think. As for me," he shrugged. "I can't say that I stake a claim in either side."
Was it simply black and white?
"I haven't met anyone to make enemies with, so I can't say I have a bias. I'm still figuring everything out, I think. I don't like being told what to do so I'm figuring things out on my own. I like being able to protect myself, so I'm still trying to figure out if this has helped, or made things worse. If I had to lean towards one or the other--well. The only thing I can say of either is that I suppose I'm not a fan of youma, but." He glanced at her. "...Is anyone?"

Her lips curled when he said he didn't like being told what to do. My, did the universe have other things planned for him. He didn't seem to be a very high level. He had a lot of higher ups. Would he be able to become strong enough to topple the leaders he doesn't want to follow? That would be fun to watch. "I've made enemies. I've made.... mutually beneficial acquaintances." She wouldn't say the word friends. The few times she tried to make friends all ended with her heart breaking for one reason or another. That was in the past, years ago, when she had two eyes. Before Padmavati got her way. An ache in her eye socket made her hiss and a hand came up to the patch, pressing on it like that would help. "You would be surprised the Negaverse agents who are fond of them," she said after the pain had subsided enough. Fond of youma, fond of experimenting on senshi. Eris would never take kindly to youma, even if they were on 'the same side' as it were. "I despise them. Pests. Leeches." That was said with a bit of conviction.

Arnica nodded as she spoked, open minded enough to consider everything she said.
His gaze drifted to the patch over her eye, if only because her gesture had drawn his attention to it. He didn't stare, just noted it.
"I am surprised," he admitted. "...You would think that being in the company of actual monsters might be something of a deterrent to getting work done. They've attacked me, powered and not, so they feel like feral dogs, let loose. I don't really understand the purpose of them, but."
His voice trailed off and he shrugged a bit. "I don't know. Are you all right?" he asked, a bit of concern given that she had seemed like she was in pain.

"I'm fine. It's a recent lost, so it throbs sometimes. I'm told it's normal and nothing to be bothered about." She would just take some meds when she got home after her patrol. "Youma can be ...fused with another for a short period of time. This eye I'm missing used to be a youma eye. The youma it belonged to... leeched my energy for years. The eye freed itself, and well.." She motioned to the eyepatch. She wouldn't give up the name of the general that put the eye in for her. No one was going to have that information, not even the General Kings and Queens. As far as Eris was concerned, it was a failure. Youma parts couldn't be used to replace human parts. One would think it would be obvious, but apparently some needed to learn the hard way. She had been stupid enough to accept the deal as well. "Sometimes the people you work with and for are worse than the youma. Don't trust many. If anyone."

Arnica nodded again and watched her as she spoke, listening with somewhat silent horror as she described fusing with a youma.
He nodded, though was grimacing a bit when she finished speaking. "...Oh." He didn't want to leave empty silence, but that was a hard pill to swallow.
"...I see."
He didn't, really.
"...Does that mean you're not exactly a fan of the Negaverse?"

"I'm not a fan of any faction of this war," she said honestly, rubbing her face hard before she dropped her hand again. No one knew what to say to her when she mentioned what happened. They always ended up asking or needing to know for the sake of conversation. This time didn't feel as heavy or irritating to explain. "Many would say I'm not a fan of anyone." She wanted to correct them. She just wasn't immediately warm and welcoming, and those individuals didn't know what to do with her. Eris needed time for that stoic mask to melt. "I hope you find your way. The path that was opened for you isn't going to be easy. It's magic. It's war. Be prepared for loss in ways you didn't expect."

He nodded as he watched her.
"...Is that why you're so lonely? Because you don't have anyone to trust, and you've lost things others wouldn't understand?"
It wasn't meant to be a rude question, but an earnest one. There were many things in this war he didn't understand, things he hadn't experienced. She looked like she'd been through much more--and sounded like it, too.
If she was going to give information and advice, he was going to listen and learn.
Especially if it could save him some grief down the road.

His words cut through her like a blade and her eye narrowed dangerously at him. Sure, he had hit the nail directly on the head, but it wasn't his fault. Eris could see why he asked. Still, most people weren't that blunt. She was taken aback, but also respected it. "Yes. It makes one hesitate to call anyone friend. Things you say can and will be weaponized against you in some form or fashion. What you say will be so twisted that you'll start to believe that you meant what they think you meant." The laugh that came from her chest was definitely bitter. "Ah, well. Thus is the Chaos side of things. "It's suiting, though. Who in the Chaos faction actually have friends? Can you actually trust anyone? Civilian lives or powered, it's all about who you trust. I suppose, the the time you have 'friends' it isn't bad. You feel like things could turn for the better. You feel as though this war means something." She paused, realizing she was giving a soliloquy when she hadn't meant to. "I beg pardon, that's not what you asked. I can't be trusted to find friends with the 'right people'. So I'm alone. No one has tried to press for more than an encounter with me, and so I do not press."
