Cody finds out that his family have had property on an old stretch of land in a plains area. Now this place had always been home to castles, knights and all the such of fairy tales that could be told around a campfire. Now their is a castle from long ago miles away but this particular location of the deed is an old smaller village with a church like structure in the middle. The town knows that it was like a hidaway for the king and was rumored to be where long ago, a wizard stayed. Of course the old village is abandoned long ago but Cody goes to explore, maybe find some neat treasures. Well while exploring the 'wizards home' he finds an old book, and in it, sees the words, "By the old oak tree" with a sketch of an oak tree and a few carved stones by it. He had remembed seeing those stones, over grown and such. He goes there and begins checking but notices something odd, so he digs and finds an old box. Opening it, he finds a strange gem, a 'dragon's heart' it was called with the old parchment in the box. He holds the gem, it was warm and felt, alive yet was just an oversized crystal. He went and continued to explore when he found a secret door that revealed a realistic dragon statue. Using his phone for light, he examines the statue before noticing a hole in the chest, an imprint similar to the gem, and wondered if this 'old wizard' had another secret to hide but as Cody placed the gem, it glowed and absorbed into the stone, before it began to change, the stone almost meltig away to reveal scales as the statue began moving!? Fearfully, he tries to run but the now freed large reptilian creature cuts off his escape. Jumping back but tripping, he fearfully covers his head, "Dont eat me!?" He yells but hears a voice, "Why would i eat the one who freed me and is my new friend?" He looks and sees the dragon looking at him curiously, a creature of the past now freed, but trapped in a time long past its own.

 Cynder Draconia Human FormCynder had just been released from her statue like slumber. She looked at Cody curiously, as she didn't understand why he was so scared when she was a friendly dragon. She was, after all, raised by the very wizard whose property Cody was now on. "To whom do I have the pleasure of calling my new friend?" She asked telepathically, as she tilted her head at him, helping him up by gently using her claw to pick him up and help him to his feet.

 Cody was scared because a giant reptilian creature that was once stone only moments ago was now standing before him. He was shocked to hear the feminine voice in his head before he realized it was the dragon but found her claw came and gently lifted his arm as he got up but he stepped some away from her, "Um... Cody, my name is Cody... and youre a... well you were a statue but now youre a... are you a dragon because those arent real." He said in a bit of shock still, "I must have hit my head on the stone wing i ducked under when i stepped around the statue... that has to be it." He said having some trouble believing she was real as he thought that magic and dragons didnt exist.

Cynder tilted her head before she said "I assure you that I am very much real." She said before she saw Cody's features and said "You look like my master....The wizard that used to own this place....perhaps you are his descendant? Tell me Cody, does your family still own this land that we are on? Or is this cave no longer owned by anyone?" as she looked at him with curious eyes and added. "You see I have been asleep for thousands of years. I know not of the world around me anymore. Perhaps you could show me around?" She asked not knowing that dragons no longer existed in this world.

He looked at her ehrn she spoke, eyeing the large, well large as a big horse he guessed having to compare to something. He looked at her, "I dont know about any family wizards... but these lands have been in the family yes." He said before thinking over what she said as he shook his head, "Not a good idea, Dragons dont really exist except in stories and fairy tales... im pretty sure you will get the same reaction from many people similar to my own." He stated thinking it over. He didnt want people to freak out seeing her but he wasnt sure what else to do for the dragon that was currently speaking into his mind.

Cynder thought about it before she got an idea. While she couldn't go full human, she turned into her human halfling form. "Would this suffice for going into public?" She asked her emerald green eyes looking at him curiously. She used to use this form all the time when her master would take her into public. The only give away were her eyes and a mark on her arm that could pass for a tattoo or birthmark. "I am only able to hold this form for about 4 hours, but I figure we should be done by then." She said before noticing his shocked expression. She laughed a little. "I take it nothing is known about dragons in this time and age?" She asked with an amused expression.

Cody watched as her body shifted before him and it was as if her scales turned to clothes as she soon appeared human save for a mark on her arm which in this day and age could have been a birth mark, an old scar from maybe a fire or a tattoo but either way she looked normal, "Okay... wasmt expecting that." He said but thought it over as he shook his head, "Dragons are actually more so just usually from urban legends and fairy tales, thought to not to have existed since magic isnt really real, and even if it did exist, wizards and such have probably long since passed away?" He stated more as a question since he didnt know but considering she wanted to see the world he looked at her, "Promise not to wander away?" He asked hoping she would stick with him.

Cynder nodded, saying "On my honor, I shall not stray from your side." as she lifted her hand and smiled. A dragon's honor promise was said to be sacred. As they were walking out of the cave, she saw the village in ruins, and thought to herself 'Master....is this what you were protecting me from?' as a sad look came to her face and a tear fell from her eye. Her once beautiful home as now in ruins without so much as a piece of the wonderful memories she was granted.

He nodded when shr spoke hoping that it was a meaningful promise which when they walked through the remnants of the old buildings, clearly time was not kind to the buildings though some were decently preserved. He walked with her to a nearby road where he had a car, which he opened her door, "Have a seat." He said softly as he would let her sit down before closing the door and going around to sit in the driver seat, "This is a car... its basically a metal wagon that moves without horses and no its not with magic." He said kindly as he turned on the engine and began to drive towards town.

Cynder was nervous about the whole car thing, but got in. She found this modern invention interesting. Usually she would fly to wherever she needed to go, but she guessed that her doing so might scare the 'villagers' of this time and age. As they would pull out of the area, Cynder was amazed at the sights around her. The lands had changed and so had the fashions of the people. The clothing they were wearing was more revealing than she was used to. "Why do the women of you're age wear such revealing clothing, Cody? It doesn't really keep their dignity in check." She said not used to the clothing just yet. She tilted her head a bit as she watched some of the women. The men wore what was considered noble tuxedos but more relaxed as they drove through town. "I find the clothing they wear strange. Men wear tuxedos that are more relaxed, and the women wear clothing that is very revealing. Are they not worried about any punishment that might come with wearing such clothing outside of a ball?" She would say when they pulled up to Cody's home.

He could see that she was nervous as she got in the car before interest and curiousity took over. When they left the countryside and got more into town, he heard her comments and questions, "Well its been a long time since youve been around. Women and men are essentially equals with work and many things though their are lots of arguments about it. Personally i think that everyone should be treated equal but I know its hard to change the mind of people who believe in things that can be wrong. Either way, their arent really kings/Queens and royals anymore save for some places. And the clothes, well yeah, i mean, things have really changed and the suits that the men are wearing are standard for those who work. Many work in businesses and have to dress as such due to looking presentable." He explained as he thought it over, "We can go clothes shopping a bit... unless your clothes are apart of you?" He asked thinking the clothes seemed to have been formed from her scales when she shifted but he didnt know how the magic worked and honestly realized he didnt want to know but a mall did seem like the best place to help her learn about the modern day.

Cynder shook her head. "My scales have nothing to do with the clothing I wear while in human form." She said not really minding doing a bit of shopping to update her wardrobe. She just hoped she wouldn't have to wear what the other women wore. She didn't really like that kind of style. Then again, it would help her fit in more naturally.

He lead her to the clothing store and heard what she said, which it still didnt make a lick of sense to him so he just assumed his brain couldnt process the idea of magic and shapeshifting fully just yet so he decided not to question it. Next, he lead her to the women's section and would begin to show her around, "Alright, take a look around, see what you think looks good and what would be stuff you wouldnt mind wearing and if you have any questions feel free to ask unless its about female stuff... im really clueless in that section..." he admited some as he hadnt really had much luck with the opposite sex and honestly only really knew what he was taught in biology and health class... which wasnt much he cared to use.

After getting herself a few outfits that were decent looking in her eyes. After they got back to the car, she said "Thank you, Cody. I wish there was some way to repay your kindness." as she smiled at him. She liked Cody, he was a lot like her old master, only he was a friend, but one day she hoped that he would be more than that.

He had no idea if the two of them could be more then friends, since he still saw her as a dragon, but he also didnt know much about her either. When they would be finished with getting her clothes and other things, he would get them some food at the food court before they would begin to leave, they were getting close to the time limit she had and as they were leaving a guy smirked and stopped them a bit, "Hey Beautiful, havent seen you around here before." He said but Cody chimed in, "Trust me Brandon, shes out of your league." Cody said as they would begin to head out, but was stooped a bit, "So what, you her boyfriend or something Cody?" He asked as Cody noticed the time, they had to leave now to get her back before she changed, "Yeah sure, we had been pen pals before she moved here... now excuse us" he said getting her out of the mall, to the car as he put her bags in the back and helped her in before getting in with a sigh, starting the car and driving them back towards home.
