Power felt odd.
Peridot ewas freshly recruited, given a briefing, and then given nightly orders, and honestly, they seemed easy. See to the collection of energy. Engage in combat with those White Moon Aliens. Protect Earth. Yes, even Peridot could do it, and she was motivated.
Her husnband, for one, was the sweetest soul she coulds hope for, with an intellect that wooed her and even his little traits made her happy. When he confessed to being a teen father, and asked if she minded his daughter bonding, she was very encouraging. Although close to the girl in age, Cherish was friendly, a delight and a gentle soul. Peridot wanted to protect that. Especially learning from her how she'd wanted her father and was refused.
Bersides, having his daughter made Lawrence light up, his passion renewed in work and in everything else, and Peridot couldn't like. She was smitten all over again -- so when a uniformed sort explained the alien problem and asked her to help defend the world, how could she refuse? And now she held her weapon proudly, looking around, every ilm the proud Lieutenant. Peridot's eyes grazed the area slowly, Energyu came from people, and her eyes picked over possible targets before sighting a tall man waiting for.. QWell. That didn't matter.
Peridot shifted, and slipped in behind the man, grabbing h and using her magically enhanced strength to shove hgim into a wall with a hiss and a grin. She could do it. She could drain others for her family. The man tried to turn on her, fighting more violently than she expected, and then she snarled, slamming him into a wall as she feigned a saigh.
"Well!" She grumbled. "I was going to let you live, now you've messed up my makeup. That's unforgiveable."
She moved to drain him, and then a fist slammed into her, hard and swift, and she let go, spinning as a senshi suddenly swung agasin. Peridot caught the fist of one Sailor Dubhe last second, and hissed as the blonde uttered a feral snarl. She wasytted no words on the new lieutenant, only brought a knee up hard, slamming into her. Peridot hissed, almost crumpling as she styepped aside, slung her hoop higher on her arm, and lunged for Sailor Dubhe, the pair begionning to trade blows.
Peridot hadn't expected to run into Order so swiftly -- was the man special or lucky? If he was special, hew was alien as well and had to die -- he was a non-magic alien and a threat to her family. If he was lucky, he messed up her lipstick. He had to sufffer. The Senshii - Dubhe - was relentyless, however, silent, cold, with a gaze that radiated wrath. Peridot was calm, looking for opportunities to retaliate as the senshi continued to fight, before a thought crossed Peridot's mind.
"This senshi was used to fighting. Peridot was not, and the Lieutenant was impressed someone at her same level had skill. It aalso put her at a disadvantage, and Peridot decided it best seek easier prey (After fixing her makeup, because really, she wanted to look professional), and she slammed a kick into the senshi's thigh before bolting, running from the area and disappearing into the crowd. She then sighed, hummed, and began walking, fixing her lipstick on the go as she spied another target, someone definately alone and probably homeless, and Peridot smiled, sliding close before grabbing him in one hand.
This one weasn't gewwtting away.
