Tahmid shifted things around on the blanket in front of him with one hoof, making little piles in categories only he knew, muttering to himself all the while. His many saddlebags sat on the ground beside him, empty of their wares save for one, which carried his personal belongings. After going from herd to herd and where he knew certain Stars lived who were usually up for a bit of trading, he had acquired enough new wares. Once he had them sorted, he would pack up and return to the A'D. He tried his best to pick out things he knew were scarce or impossible to find all the way out in the desert. Pearls. Certain foods like rice. Furs for those cold, desert nights. Shells and preserved creatures from the ocean and lakes. Really anything that might strike the fancy of the inhabitants. It was a deed he enjoyed doing. It brought him joy seeing the looks on their faces when he brought back something they had been asking about for so long. The herd was too far out to get anything on its own, they relied solely on him and his fellow merchants.
With a smile playing along his lips, Tahmid shifted a few very pretty stones to one particular pile that contained many shiny items. Yes, the Prince would be very happy with his finds, he was sure. Anything that shined seemed to catch the younger stallion's eye. While Tahmid was fine with what little accessories he wore. Latif never seemed to tire of them. Especially anything of a single color in bulk. He enjoyed lining his clothing or even his mane and tail with pretty stones or pearls or gems. It made Tahmid feel a bit old, seeing the Prince putting so much extra care into his appearance. Tahmid was less impressive in his colors and yet he didn't feel the need to prime so much. But it was no concern for him. Latif was very good for business.
Finishing up his sorting, the merchant began moving piles into smaller pieces of cloth off to the side, to be individually wrapped and organized. It was not do to have to spend more time than necessary searching through his bags for something specific.
