Theanduri sighed loudly as she chased down one of her twin sons. Thankfully due to an accident on Rydan's part they were easier to tell apart now. Iexa's hair had gotten cut just a bit too short and Lynx still had his longer. "Lynx come here!" She called out to him as he kept moving away from her. "I need to put your hair up so it's out of your eyes! You'll fall!" Her energetic son had a habit of tripping over things when he couldn't see and it worried her.

He wanted to go go go! Lynx was usually full of energy and he liked to run around and play. When his mother told him to come back he shook his head, his untied hair falling into his eyes very easily. "Nuu!" Like any kid he refused to be tamed!
Then his mother made a point about his hair being in his eyes and that he'd fall. Of course he wanted to deny it and when he turned his head to do so he caught one foot on the other and tripped. Down Lynx went but he manage to catch himself with his hands before doing any real damage. "Ouch."

When her son fell she felt the small bit of parental panic and sucked in a breath to hold. It wasn't until he said ouch, his tone letting her know it wasn't serious, that she let that breath out. Thea moved over to crouch down beside him with a worried look. "I told you you'd fall, silly bean." Her hands went out to grab Lynx under the arms and lift him up so that he was on his feet again.
"Now will you let me fix your hair up so that it's out of your face? I promise you can run wild afterward." Theanduri held her hand up with her pinky extended for him.

He looked at his mother as she came to be beside him, a small grin taking shape. Lynxdaroch offered up a small giggle when she lifted him off the ground to be back on his own feet. As he was standing again he looked down at himself then brushed his hands on his legs to clean them off.
The question about letting her fix his hair was met with a puckering of his lips before he finally nodded. "Okay.." It would help him in the long run. Lynx reached up with his own hand and linked his pinky with hers to seal the deal.

With the deal sealed she gave a small shake then let go of his pinky. Thea put the hair tie in her mouth to be held and readily available as she turned her son around and began to gather his hair up and away from him face. It still amazed her that he even wanted it long considering his brother's hair had gotten cut short. Of course she liked that they had different hair lengths, it made it easier to tell her identical boys apart.

Lynx stood as still as possible after he was turned around. Of course it was hard. He had so much energy and just wanted to run around. Go find his brother and get into things. As his hair was pulled up he gave a wince and made a sound, though his mother wasn't hurting him. "Not so tight." He complained.
His eyes crossed as he looked up, attempting to see what it was she was doing.

Hearing her son's complaint about being tight she paused and looked at him with a blank expression. Thea didn't think she was pulling that hard. She leaned to the side to look at him for a second before she continued on. A small shake of her head happened as she gathered up the last little bit of his hair.
One hand held his hair in place while the other grabbed the hair tie from her mouth. "You big baby, I wasn't pulling that hard." She teased as she secured the tie in his hair.

He was vaguely aware of his mother leaning forward to look at him but he didn't dare to move his head and look at her. That would mean she would lose her grip on his hair and have to start all over again.
When she teased him about being a baby he pouted. "I am not." His arms came up to cross over his chest. Once she was done with his hair he turned to look at her and stick his tongue out.

She knew that her little boy was going to argue with her. It was like a reflex or something. So when Lynx pouted and turned to stick out his tongue she was ready. And waiting. Thea grabbed his tongue and held it as she grinned at him. "Mhm, and you need to listen to mommy."
As she let go she chuckled at him. "You know if you would just let me put your hair up out of your face before you leave then you won't have to worry about me chasing you down." Though she was of the mind her son did it on purpose half the time simply to keep her on her toes.

Having his tongue snatched up like that surprised him and he let out a yip! Lynxdaroch went wide eyed as he stared at his mother for a second and listened. When his tongue was let go he quickly put it back where it belonged and brought his hands up to cover his mouth for extra security.
"But its no fun to sit still." He mumbled from behind his hands.

She nodded her head to his reasoning. Thea could remember being little and not wanting to sit still. She was sure she drove her mother nuts with it just as her twin boys were doing to her. Still, she gave him a smile and leaned down so she was eye level with him. "Its better to sit still then to fall and hurt yourself. Unless you think you are old enough to put your own hair up now." If he was then she would certainly let him do it. Of course he'd have to learn to brush it properly and then tie the tie in his hair.

Lynx wanted to argue with her at first but then she mentioned being old enough to fix his own hair. While he wasn't all that worried about his hair he did like the concept of being 'old enough' to do something. It made it seem like he was more grown up. So he nodded his head. "Of course I'm old enough, mommy." His hands moved away from his mouth, one going to his hip while the other thrust a thumb into his chest so he could point at himself. "I'm a big kid."

She took note of how he stood and couldn't help but chuckle at him. It was such a cute little kid things to do. Stand in place and declare their independence. Thea nodded her head. "Yes Lynx, you are a big kid." So she took a seat in the grass and motioned him closer as she held the comb out for him. "You'll need to learn to brush your hair out on your own and how to tie the hair tie in place." If he wanted to do this then she would gladly teach him.

He watched his mother take a seat in the grass and tilted his head at her. It took him a full minute to understand that she was waving him closer with the comb. Once he did, however, he moved closer to her and smiled. "Ok, I can do that." He held his hand out for the comb and the other went up to pull out the hair tie that had just been put into his hair. He'd need to let it down to do the task.

She waited until he was finished pulling the tie out of his hair before she handed the comb over to him. "Alright. Brush your hair out and then we'll see if you can gather all your hair to put up." Theanduri had faith that her little one could do it but she wanted him to discover that he could so that he felt independent.
"We might even be able to go shopping for other ties if you want something more than just a plain one." She wasn't sure if he would want something with more decoration or not.
