Cybele stood up a little taller as she approached what was seemingly the newest pair out of them all. She smiled brightly as she made eye contact with each senshi. “Sailor Makahon and Sailor Kitty? Hello, and welcome. Welcome to everything. Welcome to Order.” It was important to make it official, she knew. It had been important to her, at least. She glanced at the clipboard. “I know you both are quite new, but you both said you know a bit about fighting? It might be worth it to spend some time getting used to the physical boosts you have in this form.”

As Kitty was introduced to his partner, his smile was warm, but his gaze was assessing. The girl (Cybele had called her Makhaon) looked young, a teenager at most. If it wasn't enough that Cybele had called them both new, she didn't feel as strong as most of the auras around here, either. Kitty tried not to look too disappointed at that. It might have been nice to have a partner with a little more experience and wisdom to share. The Guardian who had awakened him had given him a lot of information, and at her suggestion, he had already traveled to his planet to glean from that what he could.
But neither of those were a substitute for learning from someone who had been directly engaged in this war for years. Maybe later, Kitty would be able to ask Cybele personally if she had any knowledge she might think was worth sharing with him.
For now, their organizer moved onto the next group, and Kitty turned his focus back to Makhaon.
"It's a pleasure to meet you," Kitty greeted with a polite dip of his head. "As you heard, I'm Kitty. I have only been able to power up for a little over a week, so I hope you'll be gentle with me while I'm learning." Even so, he had tried to be active in that first week. There hadn't been any luck with finding other powered people, but he was at least ready to feel the surge of strength and speed that came with powering up.
The only downside was that name. Kitty. Kitty. So disrespectful.

Makhaon had the distinct feeling of being sized up. Silly name and revealing uniform aside, this guy put her on edge, for some reason. All the same, she grinned at Kitty. "I'm Makhaon! I've been at it for... about a month, I think." She gave a little giggle, partly an accident. "Gentle? I don't think that's a good idea. We need to really break our powers in! I mean, I won't totally mess you up, but we need to come in swinging. Shake hands, shake hands, come in swinging!" She wasn't sure where she'd heard that phrase, but it sounded fitting. She extended her hand, even as the thought occurred to her that Chaos rarely ever shook hands before they took a swing.

Sami-Fire Sailor Scout Attack -- Your move. Kitty selects a target by pointing to someone within ten feet of himself. He is able to give one command to his single chosen target. Anything Kitty demands will inspire a surge of defiance and an unwillingness to act on what Kitty asks of them. Target may follow Kitty's commands, despite this. The feeling lasts for thirty seconds, and the magic can be used three times per battle.
A month? So a bit longer than Kitty, at least, though he couldn't say with any certainty if the girl had used that added time to raise her proficiency in anything. If he had to judge based on the scant moments they'd shared, her odd giggling and repetition of nonsense phrases made her seem a bit...
Slow.
Kitty hummed out a quiet, thoughtful sound as he tucked a strand of hair behind his ear. Two inexperienced people flapping magic at each other wasn't really his preferred method of learning, but in the absence of better options, he supposed he'd just have to make do. "Very well," Kitty agreed as he slipped long, slender fingers into Makhaon's offered hand. At the risk of being 'totally messed up,' if he didn't act, he cinched his fingers tight around hers and pulled, yanking them chest to chest and eye to eye as he pressed one well-manicured digit to her sternum.
His magic built as a faint golden glow, clinging to his skin and seeping off his fingers toward her in an instant. When Kitty commanded things, some people found it difficult to obey. "Then you'd better fight hard." He shoved away from her, using the momentum to fall into a delicate back flip that landed him a scant yard away from her.
Enough for him to quickly judge his next move and decide that it would be best for him to take his shots while he had the benefits of his magic aiding him. Kitty kicked off, darting toward her and throwing a fist at Makhaon's chest.

Makhaon knew she should have expected this. She'd expected too much of this other senshi, thinking that he wouldn't treat this like a regular fight. She almost wondered what this guy had been through to be so combat prepared a mere week into senshihood, but she knew that she didn't have time to puzzle that out. She had some experience and tricks up her own sleeve (or maybe in her collar, as her uniform had no sleeves). She was going to try and give this guy a fierce counter, but when she saw he was using his magic, she prepared for the worst. Something seemed to shift in her mind. Typically, she was an offensive fighter focused on getting as many blows in on bullies as she could. When Kitty used his magic and dared her to fight hard, she felt a spike of umbrage. "Tch! I decide how I fight, on my terms, and not because you tell me to!" Out of spite, she opted to take a more evasive stance and see how long this guy could keep going before she went in for her own attacks. She hopped backwards away from Kitty's fist, grinning viciously. She did not immediately counter. She was going to be a dodge machine till she felt good and ready to go in for the clobbering. It was unexpected, and she wondered if the magic had somehow caused her to change her tactics, but she could work with it.

It was everything Kitty could have expected of someone under his spell, and despite his opponent's immediate evasiveness, he still found himself satisfied with the result. His magic did as the label claimed, so to speak: a fiery girl resisting the chance to engage him when she'd said only moments ago that they should "break their powers in" and "come in swinging." What more could he want?
Though that definitely didn't mean there was a reason not to needle the girl for her retreat. "What, you don't want to fight, then?" He queried, allowing the other senshi the space she put between them. No reason to waste energy on his part if all she would do is dodge. "That seems very inconsiderate," he tutted, sashaying his weight to the side and bracing his hands on his hips. "To take the opportunity from someone who did show up to... break his powers in."
A coy smile spread across his lips. "And you would be so rude as to ruin this chance for me, an inexperienced boy still so poorly versed in his magic and the mechanisms of these new abilities..."
"You don't have to be afraid of me, darling. I would never 'mess you up' too badly," Kitty taunted, making the same ridiculous promises she had fed him.
