((This RP will be about officially welcoming the new group into the pride. Any pride member is allowed to join in.))
Time had passed since the small group arrived. They were scouted by a recruiter who felt that they would made a good addition to the pride. However, when they arrived their leader had fallen ill. Despite their best efforts, they could not save her. The pride treated the fallen leader like they would their own, honoring her life and celebrating her potential for a new rebirth.
As the group settled in, Kelos decided that the pride needed to have a small feast. He had not only the hunters gather food but anyone that could spare time. Everyone who wanted to participate in the feast would leave with a full stomach. It was rare for a whole group to join at once and he wanted them to fell welcomed. He knew that the pride could feel overbearing to some, with all the rules. The last thing he wanted was for the new pride members to feel they made the wrong choice in coming here.
The feast was held at the heart of the pride, near the waterfall and lake. It was the perfect place to relax and socialize, while allowing a spot for the young ones to play. The entire pride was welcomed to participate and were encouraged to make the new arrivals feel welcomed. It was still a little early, but already there were a couple familiar faces walking around the area. Once a few more arrived he would officially start the feast.
------ Rashia arrived early to the feast. This was her chance to make a great first impression with the new group. And also get to eat some good food. Her mouth watered when she saw the meat pilled up next to the Nayaka. He really went all out on it, she thought. She looked away, not wanting to be caught drooling over the food. As a guard she felt she needed to portrayed as a strong, stoic lioness who did not give in to temptation. Right now she just needed to find someone to distract her, at least until the feast officially started.

Mzia could not be anything but pleased. The pride was growing, and a whole group joining at once was phenomenal!
Of course, she did feel saddened that the leader of the joining group had fallen ill. It was a tragedy, but tragedies always brought forth new life, and their leader would be reborn into the pride.
Mzia made her way towards Kelos, to see about when to get the feast started. She did notice others begin to arrive as well, and felt proud of her pride's hard work to bring together today's feast.

It was rare for both Ammit and Ma'at to be in the pridelands, especially being recruiters themselves. They were typically off convincing rogues and newly-prideless to join their own home. They enjoyed their work, but they happened to be home when a whole group had been recruited.
They would not say no to a feast.
If Ma'at could just convince Ammit to stop grumbling about how they could have done just as good a job as the other recruiter that is. He snapped at his brother, teeth clicking with the near-bite.
It wouldn't be good to scare off their new members, after all. The pair made their way to the feast.

The events of the past few weeks had been trying to say the least. Áin was glad they had all made it safely to their new home, but the visions she'd been having of darkness surrounding the group had finally come true when their leader had perished almost upon arrival. The large lioness had kept her poise for the young lionesses' sake that were a part of their group, one so young still that she needed supervision.
Death was a part of life, though, and Kelos and the rest of the pride had celebrated her as if she'd been a part of them for longer than a few days. And now it was their turn, a feast held in their honor. Áin was still recovering emotionally from the loss of Kagiso but was thankful for the warm welcome all the same. It was nice to feel appreciated and wanted and the pile of food was reassurance that they weren't being a burden to the pride by having all five of them join at once.
Beside the reserved lioness, Keao sat wriggling and fussing, eager to pounce on the food. The energetic youth had been devestated by the loss of their leader but it wasn't in her to be down for long. She missed Kagiso, yes, and she'd sniffle a bit at night when she thought about her, but in the midst of all these pride members and food it was hard not to feel happy.
"Do you think we can eat soon?" she 'whispered' to Áin, the older female's ears pressing back against her head for a moment to show her disapproval at how loud she had spoken. Keao didn't seem to mind the non-verbal reprimand, her eyes bright with hope.
"Once the leader has welcomed everyone, then I believe we may begin," Áin returned, her own voice much softer. Keao gave a little sigh but remained where she sat, though she did eye the food and a few of the other lions that were doing the same. Ooh, maybe if one of them went for a bite she could sneak over and do the same...
Amon watched the gathering quietly from a distance. He was able to hear and see everything that was going on but he was certainly removed from the festivities, taking shade under a tree. It was good that the Recruiters were doing their job and bringing in new blood, but it was in Amon's nature to be distrustful of newcomers. What did they want here? Were they truly creatures that would thrive and help the pride, or did they have ulterior motives? It was his duty to think this way and he did so without hesitating, comfortable with his role in the goings on of his home.
Tail flicking to keep the bugs at bay, Amon kept his eyes trained on the new comers, trying to get a read on them based on their body language.

Áin kept a close eye on Keao, not wanting the young lioness to invite herself to the spread of food not far from where they sat. Cashile wasn't far from them and the lioness turned to give their companion a warm smile, letting her know it was more than all right for her to come join them.
Before she could speak, however, a lion approached them. Áin's ears swiveled forward as he spoke, clearly not shy about striking up a conversation. Keao hopped to her feet, delighted that one of her new pride mates had come to talk to them.
"So excited!" she said with a grin. "I'm starving!"
"Keao," Áin murmured softly, to which the younger female's ears drooped. She heaved a sigh and plopped back down to a seated position, knowing that the calmer lioness behind her would scold her for being too bombastic in front of their new pride members.
"I mean...I can wait. But it smells really good." She couldn't help slip that little extra bit in there before she perked up again. "I'm Keao! And this is Áin, and over there is Cashile. The others are...somewhere around here."
---
Amon's nose wrinkled slightly as one of the newcomers started speaking with Khayri, enthusiastically but very loud. He didn't care for exuberant youths because they generally turned into exuberant adults who acted like cubs all through their lives. Unsightly if he had anything to say about it.

Leiko wasn't in the mood for socializing, but if she was going to return one day as a lioness, this was what she was supposed to do. Also, it didn't hurt to curry favor, rub some elbows, you know the drill. Honestly, she was still grieving over Kagiso's death, though she wouldn't let you know that. Kagiso and Leiko had a history, and it seemed as if all of a sudden it simply... vanished. And now Leiko was alone. Well, er, not alone. But definitely without true companionship.
As she approached the amassed pride members, all ready for the feast to begin, Leiko slid her yellow eyes over to the one keeping her "company." The little lion cub was smart, sure - but she was headstrong and ever insistent that she was right. Which, given, she typically was, which was strange to see in such youth, but it was annoying. And she simply didn't like little ones. They got in the way. But she supposed she was appointed guardian as the second in command from their traveling group, perhaps it was also a distraction mechanism meant to lure her away from getting too in her feelings about the loss of a... friend?
The pink cheetah licked her lips as they got closer to the array of food set out just so in preparation for the festivities. All for the group of them, minus Kagiso. She glanced around, seeing her traveling partners just a bit away and engaged with one another. Leiko figured she should introduce herself to others in the pride, but did so reluctantly, despite herself.
While Leiko cast her eyes around, searching for an unoccupied and established member of the pride, beside Leiko stood a very stern and serious young cub. She was beautiful - objectively so - with a stormy, deep coat and the palest of pale pink eyes. The cub was built a little bigger, boxier than those her age normally seemed to be, but she wore it with an air of maturity and confidence that went well beyond her years in this body. Her name was M'lima.
M'lima looked over at Leiko - they walked side by side, like equals, not with the youth lagging behind or racing forward - who had stopped in her tracks. The pink female was slowly dragging her bright gaze across all of those gathered, once, twice, thrice now when M'lima sighed a bit huffily and asserted, "We should go to him." She jutted her nose out and pointed to a large orange lion with a dark mane that faded into gold. "Something about him..." M'lima trailed off, scrunching her face up. "That and he's not talking to anyone."
Leiko didn't like that she was taking direction from this - this cub, but she was a lion and thus more in tune with the world. And frankly, she was right - that lion looked like the prime target for a social encounter. Nodding at her companion she started walking over to the male.
"You certainly look interested in the newcomers." Attitude turned around and her bit of charm turned on, Leiko approached, M'lima not but steps behind. "I'm Leiko - this is M'lima. And we're very, very thankful to be here right now. Who might you be?" She flashed a smile and twitched her vine-wrap-patterned tail, everything down to her posture calculated to seem open, giving no indication that her heart still grieved for her lifelong leader.
Sidling up next to her, M'lima stood in front of the lion for a second before carefully sitting back on her haunches, curling her tail around herself and doing nothing more than cocking her head at the male, considering him.
