The caravan entered between the two decorated trees that served as a gate into the A'D, following along the path to the market center. The colorful silk banners above his head always made Tahmid smile. He wasn't sure who had put them there other than obviously a flying Star. Though the herd didn't have too many of those, it could have just as easily been one of the other traders or someone who was traveling with a caravan who decided the entrance needed a bit more color. Either way, it didn't really matter. Whoever did it, he was grateful for it. It really gave the place a friendly welcome. Every time he came back, he swore he found a new trinket hanging from a tree. Seashells, acorns, dried flowers, bone jewelry. Anything small enough that could be hung there was hung there. It even trailed along the other trees straight to the center of trade, where a few stalls were already set up by traders who had arrived ahead of his own caravan. As his neared this place, he spied something else waiting for him. Or, rather, someone.

Breaking off from the others, the stallion approached the other Star, bowing low as he got close enough, trying to keep his back from arching too much so the bags on his back didn't slide. "My Prince," he said clearly, trying to hide a smile under his down-turned muzzle and in his voice, but he was sure he was failing at it. "I knew to find you waiting. You will be delighted to know I have acquired some fine jewelry and pretty stones on my travels."

It was that time, again. Probably the single most anticipated event in the entire herd: the return of their personal caravan. For many Stars, it was a chance to hear of the lands beyond their oasis. To catch up on what extended family members were up to. Latif had few interests in this. For one, if he wanted to learn, he simply left himself. He didn't like relying on others for information. Sometimes it was passed around so much, it became fantastical. The easiest way of getting the truth for oneself was to just go yourself. No, what Latif was eagerly waiting for was the merchandise. A Prince of the desert had to look good, didn't he? It'd been so long since he'd had a new set of pearls. He desired more colors for his hair. He had nothing to trade, of course. He was a Prince. He just told every merchant to go through the treasury for payment. Someone else could take care of it.

Standing under the billowing cloth strewn along the place was almost enjoyable. Almost. The colors were nice and complementary. They made the place feel so lively, so homely. It was difficult even for him not to get a little swept up in it. But just a little. He was still a Prince after all. He was above this common activity. He just preferred to look at the wares himself. He had a particular taste that he wouldn't trust anyone else to pick out for him. So he waited here on his own.

As the familiar stallion came into view, Latif put a small smile on his face. Not that anyone could see it under his cloth. He couldn't help it regardless. He had to admit he was always a little excited to see the merchant come back. They always brought back such interesting things for trade. Though there was always very little he wanted himself, he could still appreciate all their hard work in acquiring these items.

"Will I?," the darker stallion answered, not moving a muscle as the other bowed low. "You have a very keen eye for what I like, Tahmid. So few do." None, really, but Latif didn't want the merchant to be getting an ego. Best to keep the lower class humble and in their place. Aside from this interaction with Tahmid, the two stallions never spoke. Maybe a nod of acknowledgement if they saw each other. Nothing more than polite. "I am confident in your ability."
