Lutana loved to observe things.

She was all about the cycles of life, the changing of seasons and everything of the like. So whenever a festival opened up in one of the Matori towns that her family was traveling through the youngling could not resist venturing out to explore. It was beautiful to see with the way they hung lanterns from the few trees around the smaller town, the gentle glowing lights showing the stone path that curved through the village. Across the way one could even see the waves as they quietly crashed along the shore, the receding tide showing shells and other sorts of stones that the ocean dropped off for the villagers to find in the morning. Even the ocean seemed to have a cycle of sorts. Lutana smiled at the thought as she leaned against a tree and studied everything.

Everyone seemed to be having a lot of fun welcoming the hot season of summer. Lutana loved how the warm days allowed her to play in the ocean with her siblings and the changing of seasons meant more freedom outside. They were growing older after all and the more seasons they witnessed the more fun and stories they gathered for their memories. Autumn was by far her favorite and she truly hoped that they could be back in Tale to experience it. The leaves changed then and she loved to watch how they slowly fell from the tall branches of the trees and gathered along the ground. Would she fall like that one day when she was older? The girl pursed her lips thoughtfully before shaking her head, her wild and dark curls bouncing with the movement. “I suppose we’ll see.” If anything she wanted to do something glorious in life like she heard about from the older earthlings who had fought in so many battles before. It definitely sounded fun or at least memorable.

Venturing away from the shelter of the trees the youngling started to explore the stalls. However, her wandering gaze was quickly pulled away from the merchandise because of a bard. Their tale was just so enticing that Lutana found herself drifting forward and lingering near the edge of a crowd who had gathered around the performers. Apparently a lot of the festival was celebrating the crossing of Atun and Ubeli’ae. Their current but brief time together explained how the shores of Matori almost grew as hot as the desert sands of Oba. Only during summer would Ubeli’ae allow Atun to bring his desert heat to her shores. At least that was what the singing bard continued to rhyme about as Lutana listened along with the crowds.

It was interesting for sure! She enjoyed the dramatics and how the story-teller truly got into the lore. They were great at expressing emotion and holding suspense, something which had Lutana gasping with surprise at several points in the story. Atun and Ubeli’ae being together would summon Drach’ti and that would explain the tougher storms during the ending of the season. They would have to bitterly part before her hurricanes ripped across the islands and harmed their people. Lutana felt her gaze watering at the thought. Drach’ti was definitely a mean god to force the two apart! Yet that explained why the summer heat faded as Atun went back to the deserts of Oba and allowed Drach’ti to rest, her shores cooling down ever so slightly as the autumn winds graced Matori.

As the performance came to its final conclusion, Lutana had to hold back her sniffles. She was always bold and adventurous around her brothers but in truth she did have a bit of a soft heart for romances. The story had just been too sweet. “Are you alright, young one?” An older Matori crouched down to reach a hand out to Lutana but the young hybrid took a step back. Safety was important in crowds after all and she remembered that much even now. Though honestly the grandmother surely didn’t mean her harm….

Lutana found herself forcing a small smile as she blinked way any threatening tears. “I’m okay. I just enjoyed the story a lot.” She replied quietly. “It was lovely.”

“It was, wasn’t it?” The older matori woman smiled warmly before pulling her hand back. “What did your parents think of it? Are they nearby?”

“Ah.” Lutana felt her cheeks darken ever so slightly. “Th-they are!” She repeated with a firm nod. “I was just getting some sweets for them.” She managed before glancing around sheepishly. “I should go do that before they worry.” Waving, the youngling darted back through the path, her steps only slowing as she reached the last of the festival stalls. Perhaps she had gotten a little caught up in the story...still it had been worth it. Lutana had always thought the changing seasons were a lovely thing but now she believed that even more so. She couldn’t wait to return to their camp and to tell her brothers about the stories! She just had to sneak back in first without either of her fathers catching her. Not a problem. A mischievous grin lit up her features as she started back towards her family.
