Prompt Tendaji is filled with a wide array of wildlife, some friendly and some a bit dangerous. It's rare that an inhabitant of the world will spend a day without encountering a wild creature in passing, be it from hunting, traveling, or even taking care of a pet. The creatures of this world only seem to add to the colorful experiences that Earthlings, Aishans, and Kahikinans have each and every day.
[ For this prompt, we want you to pick one (or more) fauna in Tendaji and have your character encounter them in some way. Maybe it's catching a new pet, or animal watching, or maybe it's a hunting trip. Take some time to explore the flora and fauna thread and create a story around your character's experience with the creature(s).
Lutana had been delighted to see the ocean for the first time. Ever since her family stopped to visit Matori the youngling had been spending her mornings and afternoons out along the wild beaches and tide pools. If something strange could be found then Lutana would find it and bring it home to share with her fathers and siblings. Today was no different as she walked along the shore searching for a sibling. After all, it was not the first time that she had emerged from a tide pool with little shells and makeshift necklaces of seaweed and the like around her neck.
Today though Lutana had a great surprise to show off! "Siel!" She chirped happily as she skipped through the sands. "I found something cool!" A brightly colored webbed foot stuck out from between her fingers as she carried a wiggling alol in her hands. It was adorable despite being sticky and Lutana absolutely loved it. The bright swirls of violet and green were just too enticing and she couldn't resist reaching out to pick up the little guy who had promptly scurried up her arm before resting along her shoulders for a bit before getting carried away by the youngling.

Siel's favorite part about being so close to the ocean was seeing how far he could get into the water before one of his fathers inevitably yelled at him. It was just so tempting! He had promised to stay on the sand and only dip his toes in, but maybe if he just went in up to his calves then...
As soon as he heard his name Siel's spine locked, already preparing for 'the talk' until he realized it was just Lutana. That perked him up considerably and he turned to his sister, curiosity getting the better of him as he watched her approach. Something cool? What could she have found that they hadn't already seen?
The closer she got, though, the more easily visible that bright foot was and now Siel was sold. "What is that thing?" He pulled away from the water to meet her halfway, eyes wide and curious.

Lutana grinned as Siel came splashing towards her. Honestly in the girl's excitement she was prepared to run through the waters towards him. I guess this works. She thought happily as she held out her prized friend. "I have no idea." She admitted with a giggle. "But he's super cool and playful." She held her hands out towards Siel teasingly, her fingers still hiding the little lizard like creature from sight. Lutana figured that if the creature passed Siel's inspection then surely she could also show it to Morain!
Slowly, ever so slowly, Lutana dramatically dragged her fingers away from the vibrant alol. "I'm callin' him sparkly for now. He kinda glimmers in the light, right?" She grinned as the little alol stared at Siel and blinked a few times before scurrying up towards Lutana's shoulders.

Siel wiggled his toes excitedly in the wet sand. Whatever it was had to be small to fit in his sister's hands, but if it was really as amazing as she said then he just had to see! The youngling leaned forward, trying his best to get a better view.
And what a view!
Once the alol was revealed Siel's eyes brightened. "He's so pretty. It's like the sun is caught in his skin." Skin was right, right? He didn't look like he had any scales. Or maybe he did? Gently he reached his fingers out to prod the creature now that it sat on her shoulders. "Where did you find him?"

Lutana grinned as the alol slipped beneath tendrils of her wavy hair. He was being shy, how cute! "I know, right?" She agreed with obvious delight before thinking on her brother's question. "I was playing by the rocks along the cliffs and he just scurried down..." Her gaze widened as a thought struck her. "What if there's more there? Then there could be one for both you and Morain!"
It was a great idea! They could have little familiars that glittered like the sunlight and they could easily keep them around their shoulders or in their clothing. Surely their fathers wouldn't mind a few alol around the place! Sparkly hadn't given her any reason to think otherwise. He was adorable and friendly with her. She wondered what he would like to eat. Maybe some fruits or something? Lutana pursed her lips thoughtfully before looking towards Siel. "Should we try to find more?"

Siel was used to seeing big animals up close so seeing something so fast and small was pretty fun! It was definitely a change from papa's kinfa! "That sounds great! I'm sure if we found a really pretty one even Morain would like it!" He wasn't so sure that his younger brother would actually like something that slimy? - sticky? - but they could try! Maybe if it was the right color he would like it.
"Sounds good to me! Lead the way." Siel wondered if maybe he should tell someone that he wasn't going to be at the beach anymore, but surely going off with Lutana was okay? So long as they were together he didn't see a reason to panic. "We'll just have to hide them when we get back or Faulina might eat them." Their papa's big kinfa had a propensity for snatching up anything smaller than herself as a snack. He'd made that mistake once before when he brought back a particularly cool looking beetle only for the giant avian to take it from him.

"Definitely! I think something pink and white would look lovely with Morain or like a soft green...." It was almost like she was trying to color coordinate the alol with her brother like it was an accessory instead of a wild creature. Honestly Lutana was almost bouncing up and down in her excitement. She probably would have actually just bounced around Siel whenever he agreed if not for her little passenger clinging to her shoulders.
Lutana gestured for Siel to follow her. She had seen the narrow cliffs where she had picked up Sparkly and was confident that they could find more. "How do you feel about climbing?" She asked her brother as they approached the tall gray cliffs that rose from the sandy shoreline. She reached up to gently run a hand along Sparkly's back as she studied the cliffs. "I think they like to hide kinda far up." But that would fine, right? They were small and so the narrow cliffs wouldn't be a problem and she could always spot Siel to make sure she caught him if he fell! Or she could even scurry up perhaps...

"I was thinking purple or a bluish green." If they could even find anymore, that is. Just because Lutana had managed to lure this one out of his home didn't mean the others would follow. He followed along behind her dutifully enough, keen on seeing the area for himself, but when she mentioned climbing...
Siel had to wonder just how long it had taken Lutana to find Sparkly in the first place.
"Just show me the spot, and I can reach it!" Of course he could! Climbing something like this would be easy for someone like him! He would root out the nest and find little buddies for their entire family.

Oh good! Lutana grinned as Siel agreed to the task. If anyone was up to it then it would be Siel! The youngling had complete faith in her brother's ability as she led him around a few rocks and towards where the cliffs almost merged into one ledge. "I found a foothold around here earlier..." She pursed her lips thoughtfully as she gestured towards the narrow space. "If you shimmy up there's a little like cave area and Sparkly popped out from there. Maybe he has friends who are nearby?" The whole cliff seemed dotted with random crawly holes and ledges after all.
Lutana was certain that they should be able to find more.

Siel looked up the looming cliffside with a skeptical look. He was good at climbing rocks in Sauti, and the trees in Jauhar, but these looked wet. Shouldn't be much different, right? So long as he tried to take it slow he should be able to get up there.
The little hybrid was determined to succeed, and taking his sister's advice, Siel started out on the foothold. He picked his way slowly up the cliffside, using every little crevice he could to get him a little higher until eventually he got closer to the little caves. When he saw a few squirming around Siel almost lost his footing. "Pink, pink, I need to look for pink," He murmured to himself. There was just so many, though, and none of them looked right!
"How about this one?" He called out, raising his hand to show off a sort of pinkish-purplish one. There really wasn't anyway to place the color, but it looked really nice in the light.

Lutana hovered behind Siel s if she were prepared to catch him should anything happen. The youngling girl craned her neck whenever her brother held out the alol and grinned when she saw the shimmering colors in the few rays of sunlight that lit up the darker area of the cliffs. "It looks good!" She chimed happily as she perched below Siel in a lower foothold.
"Do you see any that you like?" She asked as she held out a small round fruit towards Sparkly who stuck out his tongue to steal the delicacy. She had a few more tucked in the sash around her tunic and was prepared to share with Siel if he wanted any.

Keeping hold of the squirmy alol as well as his balance was tricky. The little thing didn't quite understand that he was just trying to be nice and give it a new home so it tried escaping. Eventually he just slipped the poor creature down his shirt into the part where his belt overlapped, hoping that would be enough to hold it in place.
Just when he thought it was safe he felt a rustling near his thigh. He cried out, instinctively flinching as the alol scurried down his leg and flung itself back towards the cliff. Unfortunately, the poor little thing misjudged the jump and started to fall. "Lutana! Catch him!"

Just when Lutana thought everything was going well the sky began to rain alol. Or rather it rained one very pinkish purple alol. "Eep!" Gasping the youngling reached out her arms, sliding from her perch and scrapping her elbows against the wall and jabbing a knee into a rather sharp rock at the same time. Wincing against the pain, Lutana let out a sigh of relief as the little alol found itself caught in her outstretched hands.
"Safe!" She called out as she slipped down further from her perch and onto more stable ground. Ignoring the few drops of blood that stained the sands below her feet, Lutana grinned as she offered some of the fruits to the new alol and her Sparkly. Hopefully they would get along. "Just be careful! I have some fruits so maybe that'll make them happy!" She smiled towards Siel and ignored the pain as she thought of how happy Morain would be to see the new friends that they were bringing back home with them!

Siel watched as best he could, and winced in sympathy when Lutana jabbed her knee. That really looked like it hurt, but at least she caught it! "You're amazing, Luttie!" He was just glad the little alol wasn't hurt, even if it didn't really like him.
Now I just have to find one I like. Pondering his options seemed a lot easier when the little things weren't scurrying away from him. They would hang around until he moved his hand towards them and then they ran. Scrunching his nose Siel tried one more time and came back with....one really, really pale one. Furrowing his brow he lifted the alol to study it. It's skin was so white he could see some of it's veins and unlike the others it was a little on the puny side. It's eyes, bright and red, looked up at him, then the alol licked it's eyeball.
Yep, this was the one.
Instead of risking this one falling he carefully picked his way down the cliffside while holding onto it, keen on showing Lutana his find. Hopefully their fathers would let them keep their new pets, and if not...well, it wasn't like he was going to give it up, was he?
