Virginiaterese had finally decided to force herself to do her own nighttime patrol of the city. It was a decision she made primarily on her own sheer desire to stop being afraid to fight on her own and relied heavily on the reasoning that she couldn't be the only senshi that decided to do so. Whether or not this logic would end up biting her straight where the sun don't shine was, thankfully, still entirely up in the air at this point. Still, she couldn't afford to get too comfortable. Anything and everything could be a potential threat, right? She had to keep her wits about herself.
She'd decided to stay away from roof hopping for the time being, instead opting for a more traditional wandering style where she felt she could make use of her surroundings better. Plus, if any civilians were out and trouble starting brewing, she could dash right over and never risk breaking an ankle trying to do a crazy leap down from above. ... That, and most things she could use as tools to defend herself weren't high up on roofs. It just seemed much safer to be down on the ground that way.
"It's pretty quiet..." She muttered to herself, raising her head to look up at the sky. A few clouds were gathering around the moon. Would that mean rain tomorrow? She shrugged and moved to obscure herself inside the shadows cast by the buildings across the street. Huh. Maybe this wouldn't be as eventful of a night as she psyched herself up for after all.

Varda was wondering around too, though not for the same reasons. Sure, it was a nice night out even if it looked like it would rain at any second, but still it was nice not to have to cover herself to get from one place to the other with extra clothing. There were reasons to like winter, but more often than not she found it to be a detriment. Tonight though she was looking for people to drain. She hadn't been able to do it much at all and wanted to show that she was at least trying and not just screwing around doing whatever with her powers. Unfortunately it seemed that everyone else had decided that the nice night meant it was a great time to stay indoors and because of that she hadn't seen a soul since she had started wandering. And just when she was thinking about going somewhere else, she felt a familiar aura! Not that she knew who it belonged to, but she could now tell when it felt like Order and well, this one felt like it! She decided she would go towards it instead of running away. Last time she had found herself running, but wanted to prove that she could actually do something if she needed to and that she wasn't just a loser that could only run away. Though she hoped she wouldn't have to fight. She enjoyed competition, but this type of fighting was trying to actually hurt the other person, not just try to subdue them for a win!

Virginiaterese didn't get too much further when she felt another aura coming towards her. ... It didn't feel anything like the chaos auras she'd trained herself to watch out for before, but it didn't feel exactly like a senshi aura either. At least not one that belonged to someone she'd encountered before. There was a moment where she hesitated, opting to hang out in the shadow for a little longer and consider the risks of an encounter if she turned out to be wrong, but quickly found herself sighing. What was the point of doing patrols with the express purpose of stopping evil if she was going to let herself get so easily paralyzed with fear? If she wanted to make progress away from being afraid, she actually had to try.
She put on a brave face and stepped out of the shadow just enough so part of her uniform could be illuminated by the streetlamp closest to her, before forcing herself out into the light. She prayed, silently, that whatever she met tonight wouldn't be a threat. Or anything like the rats she'd dealt with before.

When Varda was finally able to see the face of her "opponent" she couldn't quite make them out. She was pretty sure it was the Senshi she was looking for, the source of the Order aura, but the "uniform" was... interesting. Not bad, but interesting. It showed at least the Senshi uniforms could be diverse. She decided to show herself as well and stepped into the light herself, waving at the Senshi. Though she would be ready if the other decided to attack. However, she wanted to start this interaction off in a friendly tone, hoping to avoid a fight. After all, she already had a competition tomorrow. She didn't want any bruises before that! She said loudly, "Hey! I'm not going to hurt you! I just wanted to see who the aura belonged to!" She said, before making her way across the street, her hands in the air to show that she wasn't holding any weapons or anything. And besides, her powers were buffs anyway, nothing offensive. Not that the Senshi would know that.

Virginiaterese tensed like a cat startled by a sudden movement as Varda appeared before her. However, upon seeing Varda's friendly wave and uniform, she allowed herself to breathe a sigh of relief. Another senshi! Thank goodness! Here she was thinking she'd actually have to defend herself tonight and, maybe, learn something! She broke out into a stunning grin.
"Oh, you have no idea how relieved I am to see you!" She laughed, practically hopping over to Varda. At this distance, she could clearly see that Varda's uniform was darker than her's. She'd never seen that before, but who was she to judge what another senshi chose to wear? "I've been out patrolling, so I thought you were one of those crazy monsters at first! Sorry for looking so nervous!"
She allowed herself a moment to breathe and look around for anyone passing by. Good, it looked like the coast was clear for now. They could keep talking like this for a little while.
"My name is Virginiaterese, what's yours?" She asked, extending a hand out to shake. "I mean, it's totally okay if you don't want to tell me! I get some people want to remain more of a mystery. I'm always happy just to meet another senshi. I know like... One other person so far."

Varda was about to say something to the effect of wondering why the Senshi would be happy to see her considering they were "enemies" but decided to keep her mouth shut. While she had been attacked by Order Senshi before, she couldn't judge a whole side on only one person and while it made sense that they weren't on the same side, they could at least talk things out if need be. Hopefully. "Monsters?" Varda whispered to herself, wondering what the other Senshi was talking about. It appeared that there was more that she needed to know, and this woman might be able to give her the information. "Well, luckily I'm not one of those!" She said, moving closer to the Senshi so that they were now near each other. She was unsure of how the other would react considering how each of their auras must have felt to the other, but while it wasn't pleasant, it wasn't unbearable either. "The name's Varda." She said, shaking hands with the eager senshi. "Ah well," Varda decided that she didn't want to try and trick the poor girl. "I don't appear to be on your side as a Dark Mirror, but that doesn't mean I'm going to do anything to you. It's the first time seeing another Order Senshi without being attacked at least." She didn't mention that the first time was when she was trying to drain people...

Virginiaterese's face gradually faded from the mirth of relief and spiraled straight into confusion. W-what was Varda talking about? They were both senshi and all senshi were on the same side, right? They banded together against the forces of chaos like a team, a secret society of sorts that only they could join. That's how all of this worked, right? There weren't any senshi that were somehow not like that? Yeah? Yeah?
... She wasn't wrong, right? No, no, it had to be a joke. Senshi couldn't be on the wrong side. She was sure that she would have been warned about some "Dark Mirror" or some other scary sounding stuff like that before if it were really true. Varda had to be pulling her leg! She shook her head and laughed.
"Wow, you almost got me there, really!" She said, putting a hand to her heart. "I got you, though! Dark Mirror sounds like something straight out of a horror movie! Let me guess..." She tapped her chin jokingly and poked Varda playfully in the chest. "You're a big fan of psychological thrillers and that's where you came up with that idea!" SSBrosB Bless Varda, she really tried. |D

Varda's face dropped and she soon stared at the other Senshi a bit with a face that said "Oh no... I'm talking to one of those people..." She didn't dare tell the other, it wasn't as if she was going to attack her anyway, but it made her feel sorry for the other. Naivety was good up to a point, and then it became a detriment. And for this Senshi to still have it, it was most definitely the latter. After all, this whole thing was a war wasn't it? She sighed, moving her hand to rub her face a little, making sure that she wouldn't be shattering the poor Senshi's heart by saying mean things at this point. And after she was done so she removed her hand from her face and looked at the other Senshi again. "No, that's not right, but I'm sure you'll learn more about us soon." Perhaps someone not as nice as she was would attack the Senshi, but she would most likely learn eventually. It was time to change the subject. "Are you out here on patrol by yourself?"

Okay, the look on the other girl's face wasn't comforting. Virginiaterese hesitated and went straight back into an internal panic. Were there really senshi that were on the other side? The wrong side of the war? That wasn't right. How could they be a senshi but not fight against evil? All naivety melted away as Varda spoke and Virginiaterese took a step back into a defensive position.
"I'm sorry, you've been perfectly nice..." She began, a hand moving over her heart. God, and she really hoped she'd found a new friend tonight. Her eyes betrayed her disappointment. "But I can't, uh... I mean... I'm pretty sure now that I understand what you are that I shouldn't be talking to you."
She glanced around, as though someone were to come down from above and strike her down, and took a breath. Okay, should she attack? Should she flee? ... No, no, maybe she should wait? She fussed about with indecision and looked to Varda cautiously.
"Don't you want to, like... Hit me or something?" She asked. A sting of regret and embarrassment soon followed, though. Yes, ask the enemy why they hadn't socked you straight in the face already, Virginiaterese. Great thinking! "Or am I still not understanding what a Dark Mirror is?"

Varda shrugged. "No, not really. You haven't attacked me. I don't have a reason to attack you at this point." Well, at least the girl had figured it out now. "I'm still pretty new to the Dark Mirror myself, but from what I can tell," at this point she held a hand to her chin thinking. "It's more like we're in-between? I guess Order or uh, White Moon? considers us to be evil because we do use energy for our powers and to build our world. And I guess we were with the Negaverse at one point and split off or something.
"Anyway," she waved her hand that had been in her chin around, as though she were trying to wave away the previous words, "it's understandable that they wouldn't us taking energy, but we also want to save humanity as well. It's just not in the same way as the White Moon. Negaverse wants life dead, White Moon wants life uh, alive, and we want life alive too, but we don't believe the planet is big enough or is going to last long enough for it to survive?" She shook her head. "So uh yeah, it's not that I particularly want to fight you, but it's totally understandable if you don't like or want to be associated with the Dark Mirror."It was about all she could come up with for it. She wanted to know more about the Mirror stuff herself, but even asking some of the others that she had been in contact which was... one? at this point had been hard to get information out of them. Perhaps if she were to learn how to do it from them, she would be able to use such skills as a detective. Or vice versa? Whatever it was! Bouquet of Diamonds lol oh my gosh but yeah, I may be mixing up what Dark Mirror wants, but that's what Varda thinks right now lol
