The Wishing Tree (2) : Your wish is only said to come true if you grant the wish of someone else; when you write your wish, you must also take one off of the tree and do your best to grant it. What wish do you pull off, and how do you intend to ‘grant’ it? Do you work with someone else to grant this wish, or do you work alone? You may get approval from another player to use the wish their character hung up, but no names are attached so your character may not ever know who wrote it!

Matt had of course headed to the wishing tree to leave a wish behind on it's branches but couldn't complete the wish that he had plucked out in return, at least not right away. It was asking for volunteers at an animal shelter and by the time he had collected the wish it had been late enough in the day that it wouldn't make a lot of difference heading over there so instead he had planned to go volunteer the next day instead.

Once it was morning Matt gathered up anything he might need while volunteering and headed to the named animal shelter. He could readily admit that once Terry had moved out taking Ace with him Matt had missed having an animal around the house but they hadn't gotten any new pets yet to replace the little munchkin cat. That been said he was tempted to keep an eye out for a cat or dog to bring home while volunteering at the shelter today and just surprise his parents. A smirk briefly crossed his face at the thought of the looks his parents would have if he just brought home a new animal and it honestly just cemented the idea to do so.

Still it wasn't his main concern just yet so he focused on the task at hand, which was currently signing up to be a volunteer for the day. Once the paper work was done and they gave him a list of things to do he got to work. The first thing on his list was helping clean out the dog stalls and he did so one after another as the dogs were let out into area's for them to run around and get exercise while being out of the way. Whenever a kennel was cleaned he would make sure there was fresh, clean water in the bowls, something the dogs seemed to appreciate once they were brought back into their kennels.

Once that was done he moved on to the next item on his list, namely cleaning out the cat cages while the cats were currently out in their patio. It didn't take him long to finish and since it was the last cleaning job on his list, he happily set to do the last thing on his list, namely spending time with the animals. He got to choose whether he wanted to take dogs for a walk or play with the cats on the patio and after a moment, figured to play with the cats.

Matt made sure to interact with as many of the cats as possible, whether it was to brush them, pet them, or play with them using toys, so that each cat would have some kind of stimulation. Of course there were ones too stand offish or skittish to really interact with a lot but he tried to give them something even if it was just talking to them softly from a distance. In the end he didn't have one cat picked out to adopt and bring home like he had been hoping for. Rather he had two, a sibling pair that he just couldn't wait to show his parents.
