The Charity Benefit (1) - A number of the local businesses in the area have come together to organise a charity benefit. In addition to a silent auction, there is also an evening charity ball. The community has been wanting to raise funds to fix up a few public areas for some time now and in the spirit of the Star Festival, these businesses have donated several prizes to the event to encourage people to attend. As one of the local residents you have been kindly invited to attend! Formal attire is encouraged but only required if you plan to attend the Ball.

Lori wasn't typically the Croix that got caught um in these sort of event. Her twin usually had a better grasp on these sorts of things. She preferred the balls, which there would be one later, where everyone was dressed to perfection. The eye candy. That's what she liked about these sort of things. It didn't hurt that there would be free champagne to enjoy there as well.

It was a little sad that she wouldn't have the company of her wonderful girlfriend for the event. But she had found herself busy with other things for the day and so Lori was left to her own devises for the first time in a long time. She had been working hard to figure out the whole relationship thing. Tonight though, she'd probably take a little bit of a break from it all and find someone dolled up to spend the evening with. Nothing more than that of course. Just a little harmless fun, right?

She had arrived early though. It was rare enough for her to attend these things at all, much less early. Part of her really wanted to check out the vendors at the event. Many of them had donated things for the silent auction that would be starting in a bit. But, they also brought others things to show off and sell as well. Many of them were here for promotions as well, which would possibly mean some free swag as well. And so she found herself perusing the the stalls for anything interesting. She noticed several of them were giving out little star charms for the festival.

After passing them up several times, not entirely interested in something everyone else would have, she finally paused at one stand. It was almost getting annoying that she didn't have one. Since it seemed like everyone around her was already proudly displaying them. She saw them on hair pins, necklaces, bracelets. There was really no shortage to what one person could do with it.

Also, this particular stop sported some simple necklaces that would be cute for the charm. She picked out a thin silver chain for the charm first. It was light weight and dainty, actually it would be pretty easy to break if someone tried or if it got caught on something. The design was very appealing though and it would match the violet charm that she had picked out very nicely.

Once her purchase was complete she slipped the chain through the loop in the charm and asked for help from the vendor to place it around her neck. Having all her hair made it difficult to do such a thing on her own. So, why she held her hair out of the way the vendor carefully closed the clasp.

The silver necklace and purple charm looked a little out of place against her golden dress, but it had been more important for the charm to match the necklace, so she would let that slide. And now she felt more at place with the crowd.
