The Destiny City Reservoir opened about a year ago and is an easy escape from the big city. It’s a five minute drive outside of the Eastern side of town and features clear water and sandy beaches--although, the sand here is notorious for squeaking when you step on it. It’s a hot spot for all fun summer activities, but it’s been back in the news recently for mysterious reports of some strange, aquatic monster. Some accounts say they’ve spotted a twenty foot long, snake like creature capable of rearing a long neck high above the water. It’s hard to tell if the videos are doctored, but there are too many rumors to dismiss easily. Something strange might be lurking deep in the water. Are you the type to investigate this or is it enough to dampen your waterfront plans? While you may not ever actually interact with the supposed cryptid, you can spot a strange creature in the distance. And, who knows what youma are crawling in the area, anyway?
Abby's summer had been...okayish. George couldn't come out and play, Vivi and Glen were either missing or acting funny, but her parents had been spending time with her! They both finally were able to take partial at home jobs, meaning they only had to leave maybe twice a week at best now, which meant they paid more attention to her, which was good! At least until she wanted to start patrolling in he senshi form, which was now much harder with both her parents home, so there went that except for the nights they both had to go into their respective offices the next day. So finally, she had had enough and took herself to the beach. She was old enough now going by herself wouldn't be too bad, even if her parents didn't know she was by herself and maybe told them a white lie about a school friends mom inviting her, it was fine (she'd find out later through a double lecture that it was not in fact, fine). She was. She went for two reasons, time to think, and to maybe do her senshi job. She had seen the rumors about a strange thing on that infamous beach and wanted to investigate, and now here she was, a bus ride later, and a brief panic on if she should transform and finally deciding on yes, then to find a good secret spot to transform. She grabbed her boots, seeing if they'd come off without her powering down, frowning when she felt a bit lightheaded. Well, that answered that, maybe once she was a bit stronger they'd come off, right now she just was lucky there didn't seem to be a soul around, allowing her free exploration of the beach.
She grabbed a bucket she had brought along, for even though she was there for a job, she figured she could grab some shells laying around, and set to work walking along the shore, putting shells that looked interesting into her pale, finding some sand dollars and at one point a starfish she gently nudged back into the water. She figured it had been two hours, when she finally felt like she needed to get that outfit off, and ran back to her hiding spot quickly, emerging in her usual summer clothes and holding a bag of food she bought before she caught the bus. she Climbed onto a rock, eating lunch and feeling pretty down. She hadn't seen anything yet! How was she supposed to be a senshi, a cool girl who beats up nasty demons, if she couldn't even find one lousy one at a beach. It was as she had moved onto the chocolate she bought for dessert (big mistake, the thing had melted), when she thought she saw something in the distance. She focused her attention watching the....the thing, crest the water. She would have mistaken it for a whale, very well could have, had it not looked ...wrong. the whole thing looked wrong, even from there, and now Abby had a bad feeling. She gathered up her stuff, making a hasty retreat from her rock. Even at a distance, she didn't think itd be smart to stay and watch the weird creature, it was definitely too big for one little her. Sp she ran off the beach, back to the bus stop, but not before she had the nasty feeling that thing somehow knew she was there.
