The city is looking for heroes! Not super heroes, but the everyday heroes that live in Destiny City. City Council has asked for nominations for these heroes that deserve a little extra recognition for making the city a better place. Posters have been hung in a few prominent locations around the city, searching for “The People’s Heroes”. The posters are quite clear: anyone can be nominated for any reason whatsoever, they don't need to have performed a heroic deed by any stretch of the imagination--all they need to be is a hero to the person nominating them. The nominations aren’t competitive by any standards; participants are asked to fill out a small form either online or in person. Nominations are collected and are televised nightly on a local news channel for the duration of the event; the notes of recognition are also delivered to the nominees when applicable. Do you fill out a nomination, or are you the recipient of one? Are you watching the news for anyone familiar that you might know?

George had seen the fliers, the ads, and the city councils live requests for proposed everyday heroes, but had declined at first to send in one. His best friends were mia, and he was still banned from hanging out with his group of school friends (not his fault they found a wrecker), so why the hell would he care about some hero thing? Well, he supposed he did care, a little, but not enough to do too much about it, at least until he caught traces of a man with a scar, on the opposite side of the street, too fast for him to catch, or a woman with long, dark hair looking determined as shed leave her home down the street, hopping in mysterious cars, the same one every day he thought, but still mysterious, with her family none the wiser.

Honestly this didn't do much but make him more depressed. Look, they were still the only younger people on this damn street, this damn neighborhood, so what if they were both adults now? They could at least try and make time for him! In Georges' heart though, he sort of knew they weren't avoiding him, but couldn't really tell what was up with them, but he did suspect it was more than just 'adult' stuff; after all, Glen had finally had the brilliant idea to just become a youtube chef, and was doing well for himself, and Vivi, as far as he knew, was a college sophomore, being paid for, last he checked, clickbait ads, which he was totally aware she'd hate.

That still really left him here, currently lieing in his room, definitely not sulking. He thought back to the everyday heroes thing the city wanted to do, and still dismissed it, it just, it wasn't his thing, but being a sulking mess wasn't really either.

He ended up falling asleep that afternoon, the thoughts of his friends swimming in his mind, until he was woken up around six by his mom for dinner. While he ate, he reconsidered sending in nominations, could he even make multiples? He could always text Vivis sister to make one for her, she'd likely be more than happy to do it. With that in mind he decided after dinner he'd get online (while his parents were asleep, he was still grounded after all, and its not like they could sleep ground him while they slept.

He went to the site where the online form was located, quickly filling out the information requested, and with that done went to bed. He knew the next night they'd go through the nominations of the previous day, and could only hope his friend would see, he would watch too, to insure the name popped up.

The next night came faster than George expected, and soon he was sneaking subtle glances at the tv, seeing if Glen or Vivis names popped up, he was a teen okay? The news wasn't his thing. He sighed in relief, when he saw their names pop up, hoping that, though busy, theyd both see it, and take some cheer from it.
