The Wishing Tree (2) : Your wish is only said to come true if you grant the wish of someone else; when you write your wish, you must also take one off of the tree and do your best to grant it. What wish do you pull off, and how do you intend to ‘grant’ it? Do you work with someone else to grant this wish, or do you work alone? You may get approval from another player to use the wish their character hung up, but no names are attached so your character may not ever know who wrote it!

The wish he’d pulled had asked for someone to spend time with shelter animals - and show them love. That’s what he was going to do - show them love. He was going to spend time with them and help them at the shelter. He couldn’t do it on his own though, or he could but he didn’t want to, so he’d asked his sister Circe to join him.

She was down a ways from where he was helping to give out dog food to the two dozen dogs they had in the room. Each of the dogs eager to eat and barking for attention. He felt for them, he really did, but he knew the shelter was not a kill shelter. None of the dogs, or cats, here were at risk of losing their life. It had only been a year or so since the shelter had been able to go no kill, something they were proud of, it had only been possible due to lots of donations from people who wanted this to happen - so save lives. The continued donations, and promise that they were going to continue to roll in, secured the place no kill status.

That didn’t mean he wasn’t still thinking of the kittens he’d been playing with earlier, while trying to get food into their kennels. Autumn had a cat, Missy, and he’d never been that close to his sisters cat but these kittens...they were adorable!

Stepping out of another kennel, petting the dog on the way back out, he locked it before moving to the next. He could hear the door to the room opening and the chatter of people, hopefully one of these lovely dogs would find a home today. He was hopeful for the animals here, they all seemed friendly...just eager and loud. Moving to allow the people past, as they were looking into each kennel on their first pass, Larkin went to finish what he was doing once they were past him.

Giving food and attention to each dog it wasn’t until he finished that he met up with his sister. It was in the the hallway, between rooms, that he ran into Circe and was told the family had indeed grabbed a dog to look at. He’d been, according to his sister, too busy with a little dog and hadn’t seen them take one of the dogs from their kennel. Shrugging it off he couldn’t help but glance into the cat room and smile.

“How much you wanna bet one of us adopts a pet by the end of today?” He questioned, having seen his sister eyeing one of the dogs earlier in the morning. He had a feeling they’d be giving at least one animal a home, and loving family, by the end of the day. He didn’t think their parents would mind either, as they would have to be contacted, so it was likely the family would have a new member soon.

When his sister agreed with him, she really did love that little dog, he motioned to his sister's phone. “You might wanna call mom, or dad, and warn them.” He knew they were gonna have a dog at least, no way around that. Watching his sister go off, almost skipping from happiness, calling their parents he went to finish what he’d been tasked to do. He’d visit the cats and kittens afterwards - he needed to.
