Mahesha stared into the water on the edge of what was once a village that sat near to the Kuze Shrine. He didn't know much about it. He couldn't explore it himself, as much as he'd love to. No one seemed alive to be able to tell him anything about it and his brother could only tell him of the buildings that sat on the bottom. The only thing he was confident on was the dam that sat nearby, exploded out. Obviously, that was what had happened here. The dam broke and flooded the town so it sat at the bottom of a large lake, out of sight and out of mind. How many even knew it was down there, he wondered. The lake connected to the river that the dam was holding back, so Nova could swim in it. They'd of course have nowhere to go afterwards but back through the hole in the dam. No reason to go exploring what was beyond the dam, than.

He couldn't even make out the shapes of any of the buildings from his spot on the surface. It was deep. That dam had held back a lot of water. Maybe it had been purposely flooded more. Maybe there was something wrong down there just as there was with the manor, so Stars sought to contain it with water.

Mahesha touched the water gently with the tip of his nose, snorting as some went inside his nostrils and tickled. At any rate, his brother wasn't here. Time to move on. He'd remain in the area until Izanagi returned, to offer what he had found in his travels and share what he had brought back. Perhaps he should check in on mother? It was early in the day, he had plenty of time to walk back to the Kuze shrine.

Turning around, he went into a canter, enjoying the cool breeze blowing his forelock out of his eyes, until he spied the familiar shapes in the distance. Slowing down to a walk, his blue eyes scanned the area, instantly on the lookout for anything the color of a pumpkin. Mahesha was not a small stallion, quite the opposite. But that didn't mean he wanted to have an encounter with that devil of a sister he had.

Reika wandered the shrine's grounds lost. Something was missing again and she was going to find it. Like before she couldn't quite place it, what was it? Someone had gone and left her alone. Familiar pain welled up inside her, She wanted it do go away. Where was he? Kaname why couldn't she find him? She shouldn't have wanted to see him, she still wanted to see him if even for a moment. her own tortured thoughts cascaded in on themselves.

So she wandered silently looking for her lost love. She desperately wanted to see him again despite knowing he was gone, or was he? She couldn't quite remember at times. She'd been getting out a bit more thanks to Soren but once he vanished she'd returned to mostly being in her room inside the Kuze mansion. her wanderlust to find her love drove her out now. Still strange being outside on her own; though the must she could still smell things alive and thriving.

Reika felt someone nearby, "Kaname?" she asked absently

Mahesha stepped slowly through the ruins, being careful not to make too much noise on the parts of the path that still showed the stone walkway. Weeds had taken over most of the ground, with flowers sprouting among them. It must have been a beautiful place in its prime. To get it back would be quite the project. The settlement could sustain a large herd within the buildings and rooms itself, with the Kuze's manor being the largest of course. He'd been inside his mother's rooms a few times, the cloth still hanging to create a border around her vanity mirror. Most of the time, she could be found there. Sometimes with Nyomi. His sister had it in her mind she was the only one who could take care of the shrine. What she could find to do in a deprecated place with only a handful of Stars as inhabitants was beyond him. Keeping the place alive wasn't enough. It wasn't worth all the pain it caused those who lived there. If only she'd realize this and help them find a real solution.

A voice came to his ears. He flicked them forward, stopping in his tracks as the third permanent resident came close. Kaname. One of the many victims of the curse breaking lose. He wasn't even allowed to remain as a ghost like the two Kuze women. He was just gone.

"No," Mahesha said quietly, remaining still as if she was a deer he feared he would spook. Their minds were so fragile, sometimes that was an accurate description of them. He'd seen his mother break down from time to time, all the stored up emotions just breaking free of the barrier she put up to keep them back. The process of healing was slow. If it could be healed.
